The onslaught kills the man, who foams at the mouth as he drops dead.
Orrin Ryota |
"Good job, everyone, though I don't think we'll be getting any more answers out of him," Orrin says matter-of-factly, shrinking back to normal size. " Not that it really matters, I doubt he was going to be cooperative. Khalib, can you take a reading on this Zyphus Stone?"
Jacinth Renata |
"Very good job!" Jacinth breathes as she cautiously lowers her bow. "And no, I doubt he would've been very chatty. But at least we've got those letters and those prisoners as proof of what was going on here."
The elven woman quickly begins to search around the area, looking for any additional clues or evidence that speak to the cult's vile plot. "On the other hand, it never hurts to have more evidence if there's any to be found."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Silass |
"Once again, I, Lord Korbin, Have succeeded not only in defeating the evil that threatens the world, but also in guiding the hands of other, less capable, agents of the society through a perilous mission with my unparalleled leadership and tactical skill. You are all most welcome for this great privilege, I look forward to reading your glowing commendations in the chronicles.”
As Korbin drones on, Silass follows Jacinth’s lead, and takes a look around.
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
GM Fuzzfoot |
As you search around, and gather up survivors, you find that killing Fel Bustrani will sever his link to the Zyphus Stone’s magic and immediately killed any remaining Zyphus zombies in the building. It also unlocked the doors.
The immediate threat has ended, but the stone is still something you need to decide about. The Zyphus Stone is a terrible artifact and, as Pathfinders, immediately know that its acquisition could be both a boon and a terrible burden for the Society.
You also find a zombie corpse that appears to have once been Wuthers. In his belt pouch is a draft of the final letter he wrote to Venture-Captain Eliza Petulengro, wherein he details the final stages of the dig and the strange character of his companion—noted as “cleric of Irori” but clearly Bustani. His pouch also contains a personal journal, a shorthand record of his many adventures as a Pathfinder.
Surprisingly, more than half of the theater-goers survived the zombie onslaught by gathering together and fighting off the undead menace. Because you dealt with Quint’s roving band bent on stamping out resistance, as well as defeating Bustrani himself, the wealthy socialites and nobility of Oppara now have several dinner parties’ worth of sordid zombie stories with which to frighten and awe their friends.
Jacinth Renata |
"I know I'm not the only one who has a say in this but I think that Stone should be destroyed if possible! The risks of further misuse outweigh any possible benefit that could be had from studying it!" Jacinth urges.
Silass |
"Are you daft? Do you have any idea how much glory and prestige that artifact could bring to me. And the society. Of course.
