I’m very excited to be running this scenario for you all and GMing via PBP for the first time!

This scenario is a little bit different from ones you may have played before. The Haunting of Hinojai is a horror themed scenario (Before there was ever even a Horror Adventures book!), so be prepared for spooky atmosphere and things that go boo in the night. We will be taking all precautions in our storytelling though, so just say the word if something makes you uncomfortable. You can even send me a private message. If everyone is down for a good haunted house story (spoiler alert!) then we should be good to go.

Okay, so I have some Order of the Penitent Constable nonsense. First, I can grapple at the end of a charge. Second, I can perform a tie-up maneuver on someone who is only grappled, not pinned, without the -10 penalty that would normally entail.

Also, I have a shiny badge! It's my Wayfinder. It gives my allies and me a +2 morale bonus on saves against fear, compulsion, and charm effects, as well as a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls against a target I challenged. I'll try to figure out a good way to remind people of that. In person I have an index card.

I am activating my Lingering Resonance boon. If I fail a save against a spell or spell-like ability, I get you to sign off on the boon and I have a bonus against that spell in the future.

Sooooo, I've got at will detect undead... would it ruin the scenario if I swept things with it all the time?

I think we’re going to have a good time! You can’t ruin the scenario, don’t worry!! (And if anyone ruins it, it’s going to be Cudak. JK!) You should use all of your abilities to get the most fun from your character. Just let me know what you’re using and when, because Detect Undead does require an action and concentration. The walls of Hinojai are wooden, but they’re not 3 feet thick, so you could scan a large swath of the house from outside the front doors even.

How do day job checks work if you played a pregen?

The pre-gen that you're playing would have to be able to make the day job roll. So if Estra has a Craft, Profession, or Perform skill trained, she could use that.
