He sprays a bit of beer as he laughs. "A brave lot you are... Or stupid. You know not what you fight for yet you are here? I saw you conduct yourselves with great grace and honor last night at the Devil's Dregs, and you seem to have received your invitation for tomorrow's event, so you must not be stupid... This is one of the most important tournaments that continues to this day! A tournament for the right to control the life work of the legendary Hao Jin."

He looks the lot of you up and down and grins. "Brave and honorable at the least. Much moreso than that serpent gang. They have persistantly dogged me, 'inviting' me to work with them in the coming events. I am no mercenary with no scruples, and your actions today have bolstered my resolve. I shall continue this tournament with no allegiance other than my own and my honor."

The barkeeper begins ringing her bell. "Closing time! One last call for alcohol so finish your Dwarven firewater or ale!"

I will stick with what I mentioned up thread. 1 or 2 hour per level buffs will be recast this evening, extended as necessary so they are available in the morning. That is ant haul, extended delay poison and magic vestment x2 and overland flight (this gets cast twice per day). Do we want to set a watch or is Shins boat secure?

Grand Lodge

GM

I don't think Shins has any crew on retainer other than his party mates, unless he hired some.

The docks are under guard by the local constabulary, but that is more or 1 cp/hr layabouts that just yell if something is up. You can probably count on them to call competent folk if something bad happens and it's loud and obvious, but that's about it.

OK, looks like we better set a watch, don't want any rivals managing to steal our golden ticket do we!

If he can Jin will pick up a scroll of Keep Watch and will happily keep an eye on things during the night flying above the ship. He will need to activate it with UMD, assuming he has time/ability to buy one UMD DC21: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24

I don't need to make any additional preparations. The ship does have a crew, but I have been stating the majority is on leave until the ship is bound for departure. In any case I do not believe even the full crew complement would provide truly comfortable security for the group and the common threats we are facing.

Seein Quiven potentially hard pressed by two opponents Jin will move so he can see into the cabin. Fist clenched he raises one hand and releases his pent up power. From out of the floor of the cabin rises a dark grey, cloaked, spectral figure with a skeletal face holding a scythe.

Your time has come mortal, there is no escape from the Pallid Princess..., the scythe flashes and strikes out at the red ninja seeking to end his life.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29, Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 force damage
Attack 2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27, Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 force damage

A note for Quiven, the spell takes up a space like an ally, provides a flank and takes opportunity attacks as needed

Mechanics:
Jin casts Spiritual Ally placing it to the left of the red ninja to let Quiven flank (assuming they can be flanked)

Points up for Quiven, if you had 5' stepped first you could have gotten flank with my spiritual ally spell. Could you put a marker on the map for it please as it does occupy a square.

"Ughf! Make sure they don't get away!"

The sword and board bird comes clomping after the ninja and attempts to give him a bit of 'what-for' with his blade, since that seems to be somewhat effective.

Crunch:
