Floating in place Jin regards the flying magician with cold, dark eyes. You have made a terrible mistake coming here Aspis. He reaches out with one hand twisted into a claw and spits out a spell trying to seize the enemy spellcaster in a vice like grip.

He will then fly out and up into the room above the tentacles.

Mechanics:
Jin casts Telekinesis, opting for the combat manoeuvre option. He uses it to try and grapple the flying spellcaster.

For GM Crunch:
Wei moved and pulled forth wand, that's two move actions, right? The incidental action was to ask for permission to use it, so he's waiting for that before actually use it (and it requires an action to activate a device, if memory serves?) Granted it isn't a very good option right now, but there are very FEW options Wei can use because of positioning -- his Charisma is not high enough to exclude folks from a Channel and the best position to be in to hit the party but not the opponents is... in the middle of the tentacles...

I've included a pending damage total in your initiative line. DR has not been taken into account, so you can subtract that total from each attack.

Roary rends the aspis cleric to bits and it collapses to the ground in a heap.

Jin-Goro's telekinetically maneuvers the aspis mage to the ground, where Quiven and Hiram unleash a quick flurry of blades. With a thud, she falls to the ground.

The Rogue extremely wounded drops his blades... "I yield... but I'll be watching your progress. Know that I'll be smiling when you face inevitable defeat at the hands of my compatriots."

The chainmail clad fighter, seemily fearless, poses little to no threat sans-vision, and opts to follow the rogue.

The cleric is certainly a goner, but the sorcerer can potentially be stabilized. The rest of them have dropped their weapons and are booking it. Once you're done tying up loose ends...

The parchment within your vase appears to be tickets to a performance of a traditional opera from Lung Wa entitled Dawn of the Jade Phoenix, to be held at a small theater in the Foreign Quarter tomorrow morning.

The shaft that the Aspis agents came from is clear of any muck or debris, and likely served as a similar puzzle for the agents with whom you just did battle. The shaft leads to a nearly identical tunnel to that which you came through, opening up to a trapdoor exit. Above you see several dejected parties resting up before their journies home, along with several elated groups clutching a small sheet of parchment similar to that which is contained in the vase. Several of the victorious groups are heading over to the Flying Alderman for celebratory drinks before retiring to their respective rooms for the nights. One such group looks over at the vase you carry and smiles. "Come! Drink with us tonight as friends for tomorrow we may well face each other as foes."

Do you wish to join them or head back to your ship?

I'd rather not let out of character things influence in-character decisions, but this is an optional interlude that if I'm going to do it any justice probably needs to be started now. So I'll do this, I'm going to post the description in a spoiler tag below. If you opt to go to the pub you can go ahead and read the spoiler, otherwise we'll have you turn in for the night and make any preperations you wish for the next event. So far we've got 1 vote to turn in, 1 vote to head to the tavern.

The Flying Alderman:
In the crowded common room of the inn, one individual stands out: the man from the Docks tavern with the lacquered eastern armor. The previously stoic samurai is now deep in a bottle of sake in celebration of his latest victory. During the celebration, he flashes his coin purse about openly before the barkeep, who immediately sets to providing a round of drinks for the entire, crowded house. The ronin, completely unaware of what’s going on, only notices when the barkeep grabs his purse and pours the contents onto the bar, counting the debt the ronin now owes her. The ronin glares drunkenly at the barkeep, rises, and puts his hand on the hilt of his sword.

The barkeep shows a mixture of confusion and anger. "What's yer problem sam'r'eye. S' 40 quid for the round."

The Ronin looks at Jin-Goro's offer and pushes it aside. "This is thievery! I shall not permit indulgence of such dishonorable act!"

Hiram nods to the ronin. "Peace, warrior. He means no dishonor. In honor of your prowess today, allow me to pay for the round?" Diplomacy 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31 If he agrees, Hiram lays 4 platinum pieces on the bar.

Wei-Ji. The tickets appear to be the only requirement to move forward, but yes, everything can be tucked away in a haversack, bag of holding, portable hole, pocket universe, or shoebox.

The Ronin again pushes aside Hiram's coin. "I shall not allow you to be robbed either! If she wishes to take coin which does not belong to her, I shall take from him that which seizes it..."

He slowly relaxes his grip on the hilt of his blade, but keeps his off-hand holding the scabbard in place, ready to draw.

The bartender looks at Hiram with a look of thanks and fear. "Dunno what 'is problem is. He comes in, orders a round and won't pay! Then calls ME a thief?"

The ronin shows his teeth as he takes offense to the barkeep's statement, but he seems to think of Hiram as a friend, or at least not an enemy, and thinks better of starting anything while he intervenes.

It appears to Wei-Ji as though in his inebriated state, the ronin inadvertently flashed his money in such a way while ordering that would normally be interpreted, at least in Absalom, as a request to order a round of drinks. Admittedly, it is incredibly obvious, even to the most casual of observer, that this ronin is not of Absalom and not aware of most customs here. Anyone who were to assume otherwise is probably a fool or trying to take advantage of him.

Sense Motive DC 20:
It seems like a true misunderstanding, but the ronin's stubborn sense of honor, and probably his drunkenness, are keeping him from seeing any fault on his behalf and has no intention of backing down.

Quiven will certainly go to the pub, even if he is more interested in eating that drinking. He'll stay quiet as the ronin has his disagreement since the others seem to be handling the situation just fine on their own.

The bar has gotten awfully quiet. Several of the people drinking here have already been through one massive barroom brawl in the last day and are hoping to avoid another.

From his chair Jin sighs and drops his head, Let it go my friend, today has been full of enough conflict, tonight is for celebrating our successes and drowning our sorrows. I've had enough of fighting today as have all these people who just want to get drunk, for tomorrow we may all die in this contest. Life is too short for such things.

Shins feels Jin is far more compelling to the ronin than he could be and turns his attention to the bartender.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think he intended to offer drinks for the bar. I know I'm asking much for you for this, but could you say something to him. Maybe even apologize? I'm sure the tab will be settled in any case. Besides this is not the right mood for a bar. She mumbles a few curses then softens up a bit. "Look... I can't afford to just give that much ale away. I'll never be able to buy me next keg."

The ronin squares his shoulders and looks down at her with an icy glare.

She raises her arms and continues. "Look mate, I've not been tryin 'a steal from ya. I'm sorry... But ya can't just go round like that... you gotta know the lingo right?"

He looks mildly annoyed with her general lack of compassion but the apology, even contrite as it was, puts him at ease. "Apology accepted..."

She sits down and looks at the patrons again. "Still need ta square the bill though or I'll be in the hole."

The ronin, seems to have adopted a degree of sobriety, likely a temporary one, and he pulls out his coin bag. "And I too give you my apology. In Tian much trouble can be had if one does not learn the local custom as well. But I still am unable to pay such a fee with what little coin I have left."

The bartender smiles and bows her head to him. "How bout we knock somma that price off... I made a mistake, you made a mistake, how bout 20 gold and another beer for you and your friends here." She motions to Shins, Jin-Goro, and Hiram.

He grumbles something a bit unintelligible about not having money for his expenses and return trip.

The remaining debt seems to be set at 20gp and they continue their bickering but it is not nearly as heated as it was before. At the very least, the ronin seems to have acknowledged that she is owed money. Although he's still rather adamant that he should not be required to pay.

The bartender returns to serving guests and the ronin sits back down in his chair, slowly finishing his final beer.
