Ouch! Hope everyone's doing OK. I remember those days; the last real gasp of that for me was my daughter's senior year in HS--she had to get her appendix out in the fall, and her gall bladder out in the spring. It was not a good year for her.
I moved you up 30'. It looks like you might be able to get a (non-flanking) attack on the assassin--GM BP, can he?

![]() |

The attack is most definitely possible, and yes, let me know If you need botting, your daughter is definitely more important than the game!. We'll move the game slightly forward but Naxian you can assume you have an attack for the round 1 action, so go ahead and roll the attack and make the next round action in your next post. Metella for intents and purposes will be considered an ally for flanking but she will not be an active participate in combat.
The Zombie feeling the need for brains, rushes at the nearest living being and slams at it.

Guy looks to be hurt quite bad from the zombie attack.
The assassin on the hand pays no attention to the threat around him and focuses on attacking his target. 5 foot step to get out of Naxian's threat. He swipes at Metella but she somehow manages to dodge the attack and retreats her self immediately to the corner of the room.

Appearing beside the zombie, opposite Guy, the eagle declares Smite Evil on the undead beast and immediately launches into a full attack.

Baied steps in, and unleashes a wave of curative energy, excluding the would-be assassin.

The Vudrani takes a short step to get a clear shot at the zombie, then calls up a roaring storm of aetheric force. Surrounded by a cloud of silvery threads, the copper piece impacts the zombie solidly and (I think) shoves it back 5'.

The eagle and Jivan's one-two hit on the zombie cuts a hole through his heart ending him for good. Baied on the other hand supports the party by pouring a healing aura upon them.

Round 2
Naxian moves next to the assassin and pulls a rapier from his belt.[/ooc]
"Now you will taste the metal from my rapier
Not sure if I can attack, does my drawing my rapier count as my action
Thanks for the well wishes too. If I don't post within the next 24hrs, bot me. I might be really busy tomorrow.
I will still be here though

![]() |

Jivan is right, you have to draw as a move action at lv 1. Also your first attack you rolled a critical(19-20 for dagger) . so you can roll another attack and damage to confirm the critical! We'll wait another 24hours for you, would like to give you a chance since you're new to be really engaged in the game. :) Hope everyone else is ok with this.

![]() |

Just wanted to clarify in case Valeron runs other characters. You can draw a weapon as part of a move action if you have a BAB of +1 or more. So fighters and the like can do so at 1st level.

![]() |

rapier: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Naxian with his finesse moves strikes the assassin with his dagger and then draws his rapier and strikes right into the heart of the assassin leaving him unconscious.
End Combat.
At this time, Metella immediately thanks the party for their efforts,"My heroes! I would not have known what to do if you hadn't arrive in time. Why is all this happening?"
What do you do?

"Jakti told us that someone had hired assassins, and he thought they were going to attack the gathering. Guy or Baied, if you could stabilize the unconscious fellow there we might be able to find out more about his mission."

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
"No problem. He's not really all that hurt."

![]() |

Tenibri dismisses the eagle, then offers a suggestion. "Shouldn't we bind this guy before we wake him? He is a trained assassin, after all."
He adds, "I don't have any rope, sorry."

![]() |

Naxian puts away his rapier.
"I do have some silk rope to bind him. Not that I would mind dispatching him permanently. I can bind him if you wish."
" There, now he's not going anywhere. Let's hope my knot tying skills are as good as my dagger skills."

![]() |

"I'm going to check out what's going on elsewhere."
Guy opens doors, looks out windows, whatever it takes to get a sense of the status of things. We may need to rush off and save more folks and forgo binding for a bit.

You've seen that the chaos has died down, the guards have settled the zombie threat, but Metella has gone off and is throwing a fit at Temel blaming him for the cause of all this. Aaqir frantically tries to calm him.
You've tied him up and he is awake! I'll wave the cure requirement.

Know religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
"Say, that's an interesting holy symbol. I wonder who it is for. Anyone know?"
"Well, things look like they are calming down except for Metella. She's raising quite the ruckus. Temel and Aaqir are dealing with her, but they sure look like they could use some help. I think I should go out there and help."
With that, Guy goes over and asks...
"Metalla? Why are you mad at Temel?"

![]() |

Metella, with some visible scars from the attack, screams at the top of her voice in anger, "This man is obviously to blame! The assassin, the zombie, all this is his doing, I'm confident of that!"
Temel in a much more calmer but somewhat hostile manner responses aggressively to her claims. "You accusations are baseless! You probably did this to yourself, knowing you." He crosses his arms and rolls in eyes.
Aaqir on the other hand, frantically panics in all this, seeing Guy approach, he relieves slightly, "Guy! You must have an answer for all of this? Why this is happening?"

![]() |

Assuming that she does....
"The assassin in Metella's room had coin from Druma. This isn't proof, and may be an attempt to deflect blame to Temel. Temel, were you attacked by any of the assassins? If so, what did they have with them?"

![]() |

Temel hesitates to answer, but does so to clear the air before any wrongdoing is found on him. "Fortunately, I came out of all this unscathed, only my pride hurt."
This outrages Metella even more! "He has to be the culprit! This is no coincidence!"
Aaqir looks increasingly worried.

![]() |

"Pah. Anyone can get coin from anywhere. I can run down to a moneychanger right now and come back with all manner of foreign currency. I'd say Jakti also looks suspicious as he was the one that wanted the windows open. Or someone could claim that you, Metella, planned all this from the start if they were creative to come up with a convoluted enough conspiracy theory. Well, anyway, if he is the culprit he failed miserably. You should take some pleasure in that. Unless the intent was to turn you against one another. Looks like THAT may be succeeding. Before you start pointing your finger we should question the assassin. Maybe you should hire an inquisitor for Sarenrae's sake. They are experts at worming out the truth."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
*sigh* Oh that the dice can make such a pretty speech useless.

![]() |

With Guy's speech, the room calms down, but you know the still harbor resentment against each other. Aaqir thanks the Pathfinder's and replies to Jivan, "Not that I'm aware of, all this happening is foreign to me, I can't fathom why this is happening. Also, I'm worried for Umut's safety, she has gone to the grave yard to investigate, but has not return in a while."

![]() |

After showing what she found on the assassin, Baied listens to Metella and Temel shouting accusations at each other.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
My apologies, but there is another option worth considerating: an outside threat. I understand that merchants might be sometimes rough in their dealings, and must protect what they have. But tonight, in a single place, there is the Trade-Prince and the most important merchants of the region. Quite an opportunity to seize. If someone manages to kill any of you, or all of you, which seems to be his plan as he uses mindless undead, who would kill anyone in their path, as a weapon, he can seize everything you built with your hard work. Even planting the seeds of distrust among you might do the trick, because you would be easier to pick one by one that if you stand together and cooperate.By Abadar, hear me! We are stronger together. Don't try to point fingers at each other, without proof. We will check on Umut, then we will come back.

![]() |

Everyone listens intently to Baied's explanation, and you trust they won't resort to violence while you are gone.
The walk in the grave is a short but cold one. Many graves have been disturbed, and the doors of several mausoleums hang open. To the south lies the Bahjari family mausoleum. A woman clad in black robes lies prone near its door.
What do you do?

![]() |

Guy rushes heedlessly over to her aid, of course.
Hopefully before he does a World Wound scenario he will become a little more suspicious, but for now Guy is a bit naive and trusting.

![]() |

Tenibri follows Guy as the Cleric rushes to the woman's aid. Tenibri hangs back a little as they arrive at the prone body, observing Guy. He absent-mindedly toys with the acid vial that he still holds, looking out for a trick.
Tenibri doesn't share Guy's lack of caution. ;)

![]() |

As you approach the body, you can see that it is Umut. She is clearly very visibly wounded with many inflicting wounds, some look infected and with the robe badly torn at the lower part. She sees Guy and seeks out help. "Please, please help me! When I placed one of the gifts in the crypt, the undead awoke. I was not able to fight them off saved for holding a few in this crypt here, you must stop them!
Map updated! Put yourselves on the map when you approach the body.

Tenibri continues to hold his acid flask tightly as he eyes the opening to the crypt with concern.

Why is it always the undead?
Without throwing caution to the wind, Naxian draws his rapier and inches forward.
" Careful. This could be a trap. Tread lightly. Ready yourselves."
I will update the map when I get on my computer. Either later tonight or tomorrow.

![]() |

If there's no exceptions, we shall move down to the crypt in a bit more than 12 hours!

Sounds good to me.
