This tall, lean man shades the sun from his head with a wide brimmed black hat sporting a yellow ribbon. It matches his black leather coat, which falls to around his legs and is accented with red and yellow. The colors remind you vaguely of a bee or wasp, though nothing overt. His hand rests on the whip handle at his side, the rope of which is coiled neatly around his pants like a belt. As he looks up his eyes twinkle below the hat in a long face with the stubble of a young man on it's chin. His blue eyes are arresting, and very attractive. The spikes of black hair from beneath his cap seem to ache to be let free. With a grin he bows elegantly, while miming blowing a kiss and introduces himself... as James Herecea, Inquisitor to Calistria.

James was born the bastard son of an Orlovsky and an elven woman who considered their forty years together a 'fling'. His father was hard as the north, but James seemed always to be made of more delicate things. He grew up as easy as a bastard can in a place where family ties are everything. He knew his father, distantly, as the man who paid for his stay in the church of Iomedae. James was always curious and... not quite the same as other boys. This came into focus around puberty, when he found he had an urge to hurt and be hurt. Confused, he went to Father Nimmis, who had been as a father to the boy. Father Nimmis, horrified, told him that his urges were unnatural, and against the will of Iomedae. James kept his urges hidden and never mentioned them again.

Into this fertile ground came Phillipe, a man of great influence and dark passions. James met him in the town and the two men became fast friends and later lovers. Phillipe shared James' dark passions and did not find them odd or off-putting. The boy lived in heaven for a while. Phillipe shared with him his religion, that of the dark lord Zon-Kuthon, who came from beyond seeking only to let his followers indulge in the pain they craved as they liked. James loved this new god, and secretly recruited men and women in his name. Knowing only the tidbits shared by Phillipe, James knew nothing of the Twisted God's true domains. He never knew that when Phillipe talked of their little church making 'changes' to the order, he meant eliminating competition.

The night the Temple of Iomedae burned James was horrified. Moreso when he found out that elderly Father Nimmis had not been found, likely perishing in the blaze. Worried about his new lovers possible involvement and not entirely convinced that his friend could have done such a thing, James ran to the only other Temple in the town, a small shrine to Calistria, where the Iomedaeans had told him he must never visit. The priestess there, a young elf named Selesse, calmed his fears, took him in and healed the burns he recieved attempting to enter the building to find Father Nimmis.

Phillipe and his cult intended to leave none who might know of their plans. Upon hearing that James had fled to Calistria's shrine, Phillipe used his considerable influence within the city guard to point James as the man who had burned the temple, out of spite for them trying to keep him controlled. Selesse showed him a secret escape, telling him of a Temple to Calistria in far off Restov, which he must reach.

The trail was hard and cold on the unprepared boy, but he did reach Restov. Learning of the true face of Zon-Kuthon, and the tolerance, or encouragement, Calistria gave for his urges, James renounced all his previous affiliations and joined the Calistrean church as a sacred prostitute, taking the name Herecea, meaning Heritic in Elvish.

In the two years since then, James has hidden within the Temple of the Amber Queen in Restov. He has worked as a prostitute for a time, but found his talents were better served as a church agent. However, he feels antsy keeping in a place that Phillipe may be able to reach, and has begun to think of leaving, perhaps somewhere... remote.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

Brother: Leto Orlovsky, heir to the Orlovsky Duchy

5. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

I tend to flirt a lot. Also I'm damn stylish. I don't see how anyone could find me annoying.

6. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?

The burning of the Iomedaen Temple I grew up in. The betrayal of everything I believed in by my first love. Finding the faith of Calistrea.

7. Who has had the most influence on you?

Father Nimmis, an Iomedaen priest who was like a father to me. Selles, a priestess in Hightower who taught me the truth of what I believed and led me to my destiny.

8. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Earning the right to be called an Inquisitor of the Savored Sting

9. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

Blinded myself to the fact that someone I loved was evil.

10. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

Not yet, give me time to get caught for once

11. What do you believe makes a successful life?

Finding a place to belong, with someone who loves you and who fights at your side.

12. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

I'm as open as can be

13. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?

Rape is taking Calistrea's greatest gift and turning it into a curse. I would never do such a thing.

14. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

My life isn't so valuable. I'd die for anything I had to. True friends, a love, my land, my church. Whatever works.

15. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

The Savored Sting of course

16. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

Selles. She took in a boy who knew nothing and turned him into someone truly worthwhile in only a few days.

17. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.

My current best friend and lover is Claire, another Inquisitor Applicant. She's a wonderful blonde who shares my passions for life and the Lady, but sometimes I feel like something is missing.

A fighter who loves me and the same things I do, but I don't think long term relationships are for me.

I disarm conflict with an easy smile and a laugh.

Only behind the scenes.

Of course, people are wonderfully varied and learning more about them is one of my favorite activities.

Why should I? A man should be judged only by what he does.

I drink as I like, and yes occasionally imbibe in drugs. Why should I quit?

Cheating without a full disclosure is so idiotic. Why would you ruin a good relationship?

27. How do you deal with stress?

Unwinding at a brothel, bathhouse or tavern.

28. What is your greatest strength as a person?

I'm a damn genius and as fast as anyone.

I have none... Ok, I may be a sucker for a pretty face.

30. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)

I'd like to be an Inquisitor to spread the faith of Calistria and avoid having any other children in my old position be exploited.

31. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?

I'd like to find a stable, working person to be with, but I fear my wild side makes that too difficult. More realistically I would like to find and work with those who can't understand themselves.

32. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.

Find someone I like and have a little fun. Get into a fight. Insure that someone finally knew what Phillipe did.

33. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?

Being a man who could be relied on, by all them I love.
