We really need to have someone smart that we can talk with. I miss Mr. Truthseeker

Darius Redgrave __ |

"Yeah, he wasn't only a truth seeker, he even was a Truthfinder. I wonder where Stam is. Probably sitting at a camp fire talking to his ox. Ned was it, right?" Darius muses.

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

"We need something that we can use to talk to people far away and that allows to have them see what we see. Teleport of the mind or something. Don't you have something like that?" the gnome inquires from Darius.
It is totally lame that there is no Zoom, Skype or Facetime spell. If our magic is better than that of a fantasy world, there is something wrong. And our magic is an at will ability for every level 1 commoner.

In case someone wants to move on. Through the column hall. For half a mile.
The vast hallway comes to a sudden end, looking out into a vast underground lake. The dark waters ripple thirty feet below the jagged edge of the hall’s end. A series of intermittently-spaced stone pilings extends south, indicating that at one point the hall transformed into a bridge that extended south over the lake, but the bridge itself must have collapsed long ago.
Map uploaded.

Foxy Quickpaw |

This vast cavern’s limits recede off into darkness, as do the inky black waters of the lake that takes up the chamber’s extent. The ceiling rises to form a cathedral-like space above. Stalactites hang here and there, some of prodigious size, while two irregular rows of stone pilings lead south, out across the waters. The sound of gently cascading water echoes through the cavern.
Without some light that is able to move through the cavern you're basically blind about everything besides the water in front of you.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof pulls out his Ioun Torch.
Want thidd so floating around your head?
Or…. You know, Father Redgrave cast air walk on himself an me. We could walk over there and I still have potions of fly. You could use one Mr. Goblinburner. Not sure about the golem though.

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

"That thing doesn't take well to any kind of magic. Otherwise we could simply airwalk or fly over. But if you and Darius go ahead and I follow with the rest later, the chances of the scouts getting eaten are lessened."

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Shall we scout?

Foxy Quickpaw |

Darius and Grergof walk through the air exploring the lake. As suddenly Darius feels like his mind gets attacked.

That bite + Level Drain is going to hurt, but if someone tells me it’s an evil outsider, I might be able to do significantly more damage…..
Note2 since this is an evil outsider my holy mace with the Crit does 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 2) = 11 more damage and it’s holy and +4 so it passes any non alignment DR. Oh given I have DR 10 from fully empowered deadly juggernaut spell that’s 10 total damage from all three successful tentacle hits.
Grergof barely avoids the worst of the attacks and slides right out of the tentacles that try to grab him.
Thank you freedom of movement!

Grergof stirs the thing into a seafood soup with little left to identify it. The mauled remains sink into the black depth of the lake.
Moving on straight ahead, leads to a barren, rocky isle that rises from the lake waters. Atop the island’s thirty-foot-high peak lie the cracked foundations of a long-crumbled structure of some sort. (D5)

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Not much left to identify stuff here. Is anything magic?

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

Abomentolor takes it as a bad joke and dimdoors over to the rock island together with the alchemical golem. "That looks just like another dead end."
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Brother Grergof Varsk |

Grergof puts away his normal Flail, then pulls out his crowbar and pokes at the magic area.

Brother Grergof Varsk |

May be a pass through. Do we go in?

Abomentolor Goblinburner |

Abomentolor kicks some rubble to the hidden opening.
It sounds like a really long fall.
"Any volunteers to check what's on the other side?"
