The room is shaped like a 1/4 of a circle. There are doors on the N and the W walls. Beside each door is a lever.

You can try disable device assuming you have the ability to disable magical traps.

There are two doors in the room. One on the north wall, one on the west wall. There is a level adjacent to each door. Which one one did you disabled and wish to pull?

I need to know who is in the room and who is outside the room. Savage is in. I believe Hugo and Ezrek are in of course as is Ablin. You in or out Samhain?


BWT, Erzek, do you have some special ability which allows you to disarm traps while taking 10? If not, you do have to roll since there are consequences to failure when disarming traps.

Samhain casts Protection From Energy (fire) on himself to prevent himself from being singed by any more flames before stepping into the room.

You may take 10 if there are consequences of failure. Like taking 10 on climb or acrobatics. Only thing the rules say don't allow an take 10 is with distractions or threats (such as combat). Taking 20 is what is restricted when there are consequences for failure.

Yeah, you can take 10, unless you in immediate danger or distracted. i.e. in initiative. At least that is how I run it and have always seen it run.


Ok, guess that is the rule.

Everyone is in the room, and the lever gets pulled. The door you came in through slams shut and you feel the room move in a circular fashion. The door next to the lever opens revealing a another room quite like the one you are in right now. There is a door and a lever on the west wall.

As the door shuts and the room spins, Samhain is suddenly very glad he stepped into the room.

You proceed through the chambers, disarming traps, pulling levers and feeling the room spin.

After two levers pulled you end in in a chamber with what appears to be a door which would lead out. but when opened reveals a blank wall. (note the actual alignment of the room is not necessarily what is on the map due to rotations). There is still another door leading to the south with a lever next to it.


Next? This is a sort of puzzle. With the ability to disarm the trap, it is fairly trivial though, so you just need to figure it out. No real danger left.

Sounds like keep rotating until outer door aligns with an exit or something pops out on us.


Since you have disarmed the traps, and have the general idea, you figure that you stay in the first room and pull the lever 5 times. Then the door you entered by lines up with an exit on the other side.

The revolving elemental chamber empties into a broad, windowless hall. Half columns of marble flank the walls, and a carpeted path stretches towards the single exit: a curved stairwell carved of slick, gray basalt. In the center of the hall, atop a marble dais, sits perched a great copper-clad sphinx.

Looks like time for initiative.

Sphinx init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Savage init: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
