Danir |
Danir, recognizing that Essar is about to unleash the power of unlife, ducks back out of the tavern to insure that he is not struck by the madman's indiscriminate attack.
Full move out of the Tavern
"Get Back NOW!" Danir roars to his collegues as he heads out the tavern door.
Xov |
"I can't!" yells Xov as he breaks down the chandelier. "I can only fly vertically!" Ugh, I there's nothing else to grab on to, and I can't move horizontally without landing. Hrmph, it's still too dangerous to land, with all the thugs around.
As the chandelier falls down,
Aha!
"Everyone, get out of the inn, including crazy-mouth! I have a plan!"
At least I'm out of range of Essar's channeling...
GM Elton |
Initiative order:
Essar
mob
Xov
Ebran
Othan
Kyndril
Danir
Essar's blast hits many of the mooks, and yes, splits open their bodies in a very clean way. Still, there are blood being spilt.
Mob mooks attack: 1. Essar 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17, Ebran 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4, Othan 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18, Kyndril 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15. Damages: 1d3 ⇒ 2, 1d3 ⇒ 1,1d3 ⇒ 2, 1d3 ⇒ 3. Mooks down: 6, Mooks left: 20 One of the mooks is planning to hit Essar over the head with a good Karrnathi Red.
Xov: You levitate to the top of the roof while you yell your ultimatum.
Ebran: You forgot to make a stealth check. You could have been seen.
Othan misses and tumbles into a lady and makes her skirt fall to the floor. The skirt came down with a RIRRIIIPPP! and she yells, "YOU BEAST!" and tries to hit Othan with her purse (roll already made). Her pettycoat is revealed to all who see!!
Kyndril passes.
Danir makes it out of the tavern!
Ebran Asur |
didnt forget the stealth check, was just going for getting behind something to avoid the dark energy blast.
Ebran will watch this turn, having no more chandeliers to drop on people and not wanting to get down into the fracas. He will be paying attention to avoid incoming mugs and such thrown at him (total defense).
Danir |
Ducking his head back into the room from around the door, Danir looks around for a quick way to clear numbers from the mooks.
If the tavern uses oil lamps intead of everbright lanterns, which is most likely (the oil lamps), then Danir will pick one off the wall and throw it at the cluster of mooks in the centre of the room
Thrown Attack roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
If there are oil lamps to be thrown then the following occurs
Danir grabs an oil lamp from the wall and throws it at the cluster of Karrns in the center of the room, hoping to smash open the lantern and set some of them on fire.
Damage roll: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM Elton |
Essar charges after the entrance of the inn, followed by a couple of guys trying to bypass an angry mob. (by this time 10 evil mooks are left.)
Mooks: "Come back here, you heretic!, get out of my way!" attacks: Essar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, Othan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, Danir: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Damages: 1d3 ⇒ 2, 1d3 ⇒ 1, 1d3 ⇒ 2
Xov stuns the entire crowd with his "disco ball" effect. Everyone in the hall must make a will save. Mooks 1d20 ⇒ 1.
Othan manages to put down some mooks with scratches. however, he was caught in Xov's disco ball, and must make a save vs. the Color Spray.
Ebran didn't have any mugs thrown at him.
Kyndril passes.
Danir tosses an oil lamp, causing fire to spread on the floor but is caught in the Color Spray.
Xov |
Heretic? Did those Karnathi just call Essar a heretic? Well, I guess that fits my theory that he offended them...still, strange.
"No! Danir, Othan!"
The Vulkoori mouthed to himself
Although, if they had just listened to me and gotten out of the inn...
Rolling for color spray effect: Anyone who fails their will save is unconscious for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 rounds, then blinded and stunned for an extra 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds, then stunned for an extra 1 round.
Waiting to declare action until I see whether Danir or Othan are knocked out.
Xov |
"No!" Xov descends to the floor to aid his fallen companions. "Someone, help carry them out of here, before the thugs wake up! Oh, and let's put out the fire..." Xov allowed the power of Risia to burst forth from his hands, in an effort to freeze the fire Danir had started Ray of Frost. Doesn't Kyndril have a spell which puts out fires?.
Xov |
Are any of the mooks still conscious?
If not, Xov will attempt the following actions (in order):
1. Try to put out the fire, dumping water on it if he can find any.
2. Roll Danir out the door, unless Ebran/Essar/Kyndril helps him possible strength check if needed: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
3. Roll Othan out the door, unless Ebran/Essar/Kyndril helps him possible strength check if needed: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
GM Elton |
Essar was saved by the skin of his teeth!
Xov: the simple thing is the Aurum rings do exist. All of the mooks either have rings stating that they belong to the Church of the Blood of Vol, or rings stating that they are members of the Order of the Emerald Claw. The ones that punched Essar has no distinguishing marks of loyalty, except one has a dragon mark.
Essar Kalvin |
No this was a simple bar brawl the one's who attacked me wre not Blood or Claw. However when it comes down to it any Karn loves a good bar fight. Now if my attackers are still alive I believe I can solve the problems that plague us. Ever heard of the concept called good soldier, bad soldier?
Xov |

"Essar," the vulkoori is visibly annoyed, "we came here specifically to save you from the mess you got yourself into. And we only came because we were specifically ordered to. You should really watch what comes out of your mouth. Now, help us carry Danir, Othan, and one of these unconscious Emerald Claw agents away from the inn, quickly, before the others wake up. Quickly, take, oh, that one." He pointed towards the Emerald Claw mook closest to the door. Xov continued struggling to move Danir, as he continued
"And while you are helping us move the hostage, why don't you explain what caused those Karns to attack you."Ebran Asur |
"Xov, I think an investigation is not a bad idea. Essar might want an investigation as well, but I would suggest that the investigations be as separate as Essar seems to be from reality." Ebran says, flashing a smile to Xov and Essar. "And I would say that if the same individual is to be investigated by both of you, that Xov's be first, because I cannot trust Essar not to kill the man," he pauses a moment, before continuing, "Although I don't really know your investigation methods either, I at least don't immediately distrust them."
Xov |
"I, however, don't particularly care about how you two get information. To be honest, I kinda don't care if you get information. Do whatever you want, I will take care of these guys" he says, indicating the unconscious allies.
"Indeed, the only reason I want to ask them questions is the chance that at least one of them might know something about Robin Nimblefingers. He is suppose to be allied with the Emerald Claw, after all. But..."
the vulkoori sighs, "I myself am not a very good interrogator, as I was trained to rely on passive observation...I have no magic which can detect lies, and I find displays of force...distasteful at best, nor am I good at intimidation. I suppose I could bluff my way through to get answers...There's a fairly low chance that he actually has any useful information anyways, though, it's just that we don't have much else."Essar Kalvin |
Xov it would seem your training did not include a list of factions that you simply don't piss off. One of those factions is the Blood, do you really want to anger a faction that raised over 500,000 undead in the Last War? For that is how powerful the Blood is, if you want us as an enemy your making a damn fine start. As for interrogation have Othan act as the bad soldier, you will act as the good soldier which means you act nice, offer him wine and other "nice" things. While you are doing that Othan threatens to turn him into a shiskebob.
Xov |
"Listen, these Emerald Claw agents tried to knock you out, while screaming about how you were a heretic. So no, I don't need to worry about pissing them off, because you have already done that. So while we're moving these people out, you better explain what triggered their attack. Otherwise, you will be the one we'll need to interrogate. "
Othan |
Othan begins to stir having reverted back to normal while unconscious. "What happened we were saving essar from himself then suddenly I... WHERE IS THAT SLIME, I AM GOING TO RIP HIS HEAD FROM HIM." Othan then manifests his mind blade and begins stalking toward essar.
Danir |
"Ow, what happened?" Danir asks as he rubs his head and eyes.
If anyone describes what they found when they searched the thugs that attacked them, he will ask the following:
"Did you grab the thug with the dragonmark, or did any of you think to check what dragonmark it was that he had?"
Xov |
I think I meant for us to grab one Emerald claw guy and the guy with the dragonmark, but no one else besides those two and Danir/Othan
I...I am sorry. I knocked you guys out by accident--I hit all the thugs and you two with one spell. It does not cause injury, but I am sorry for knocking you unconscious.
Danir |
"No need to apologize to me- those goons would have done far worse if we had fell to their sheer numbers Xov. Now, let's see what we have here."
With that, Danir inspects the dragonmark of the hopefully now restrained thug
Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 Checking for dragonmark type and strength level
Danir |
"Hmmm, I know that House Deneith is originally from Karrnath, but it seems strange that one of them would be involved in something to do with the Order of the Emerald Claw. I'm not sure what to do now, knowing this- we cannot torture him but I am leery of letting him go... Ebran, do you think we should leave him bound outside the Deneith enclave?"
Xov |
"No, no torture, let's just ask them some questions and let them go."
Xov shuddered at the thought that his allies would resort to such crude methods.
"But first, Essar, we just saved you. Why don't you tell us what made these Karns attack you. I heard something about them calling you a heretic...and one of them said he had "heard about you"...do you know what they meant?"
