Hat of Disguise would take 2 days and a DC 11 Spellcraft check plus it would cost Danir 675 Galifars for materials so I'd say about... 1,200 Galifars
Deal.
Headband- be a few more levels.
Why? The only requirement other than the feat is Eagle's Splendor? (The CL of 8 is not a requirement:
Does creating a magic item require the creator to be of the same or higher caster level of the item itself? This doesn't seem to square with the CLs listed for specific magic items; for instance, a Belt of Giant Strength +2 has CL 8th, but the only spell required in its creation, bull's strength, has a minimum caster level of 3.
Am I missing anything here?
Though the listed Caster Level for a pearl of power is 17th, that caster level is not part of the Requirements listing for that item. Therefore, the only caster level requirement for a pearl of power is the character has to be able to cast spells of the desired level.
This was also clarified in the 3.5 errata.)
Unless it's an artificer things, since it's been awhile since I played one?Danir |

The specific example you used was the Pearl of Power- if you look at the requirements section for its creation it does not list a CL requirement other than needing to be able to cast the spell in question, but other magic items DO list CL level that must be met. However, I did notice in the FAQ that math-based requirements (must be CL of 3x amount of bonus, etc.) can be emulated with a +5 to DC- so I guess its a GM call on whether that would apply specifically to CL requirement as well.
Also, in regard to all requests- Danir is plenty happy to take your money but here's the deal right now- we have how long until the party?- time permitting, the first 2 things Danir makes will be his and Ebran's outfits to make sure we are properly attired, then Xov's Hat request because I've already committed to it, then we can figure out the rest- I will still need actual time to craft the items (he can finish both Shiftweaves in one day thankfully).

Headband of Alluring Charisma does not list CL as a requirement, though.
But yea, as everything else in the game, it is GM's call.
No rush:)

Danir will have his and Ebran's outfits ready for the party- the glove might take longer.
Ebran will ask for it only if he doesnt find something similar while shopping, since Danir's time is in high demand and Ebran would prefer to attend the party while secretly armed.
Thrask the "Wandslinger" |
Note revised disguise skill check is 35, forgot to factor in looking like a different age category...
anyway GM here is a fun way to play the "dupe" card on old Ressir...
Absylon himself is the supposed Psionic "employee" of one Thrask the "Wandslinger" of Xed'drik: Legendary mercenary and gentleman of fortune. In truth however this disguise was fabricated by Absylon and the Order of Control initially to deal with the threat of the Dragon controlled "Kobold Cartel". Once this had been done however the Order decided to exploit the fame and goodwill that "Thrask" had generated among his "employers" the Stormlords. From that point onward "Thrask" was developed as both a person and as a front, his exploits were deliberately made known to the wider "intelligence community" of the Nations by rumormongers and the like.
It was only natural that the Citadel would naturally be drawn to Thrask the "Independent Security Contractor" to supply an operative with no known "allegiances" to any of the Nations. Absylon was sent ahead to act as an emissary of "Thrask" until he himself could arrive in Sharn, while Absylon himself is the "employee" that Thrask has deployed to handle the contract between him and the Citadel Thrask himself has come to Sharn to "oversee" the operation... The Citadel believes the reason for this is that as he grows older "Thrask" is grooming Absylon to be his "successor" if only they knew...
GM your thoughts?

At 2000 GP value, the glove would take 2 days to make, cost 750 GP (to Danir) in materials, and he'd charge say 1400 Galifars for it.
DC would be 11 and taking 10 I'd get a Spellcraft result of 22 so I think it would be ok.
-Danir can do it for you after the party but sadly not before- 2 days for the 2 outfits- re-reading craft rules I see he can't make more than one item a day exception potions or scrolls.
-Also, I don't know if taking even a hidden weapon to the party would be a good idea, just saying :P

Regarding taking weapons to the party, from what i have read in Keith Baker's novels, it isnt uncommon for folks to have weapons in parties, as long as it isnt anything crazy like a polearm. light weapons are usually fine, one handed weapons seem tolerated as long as they look like they could be ceremonial.
Haven't decided if i will wait or not on the crafting of the glove.
Also, can you not add to the DC to speed up the time? I thought that was a rule somewhere...
Once GM approves my shopping list, I will make a shopping post and meet up with the others.

You can do 8 hours of work in 4 hours for +5 DC, I just had to recheck if that would allow the glove to be done in one day... and it looks like yes, he could, with three days to craft finish both the outfits and the glove (DC 16 vs. take result of 22- still all good) in time.

Now before I buy all of this a question gm, can I take twenty on a disguise check so long as it is not to impersonate someone else? I am looking to create a series of alternate disguises for Absylon. I also would find it rather funny to cause Xov to believe that I am a changeling or a doppelganger...
I think you can take 20 but it would take you 20d3x10 minutes to finally complete your design and anyone around for the first few attempts would be unlikely to think you a changeling or Doppelganger...

1)Where'd you get a Dorje? PS: If I can make psionic items then I should be able to try Identifying this one for you.
2)I realize its not outlawed to wear weapons to parties in Khorvaire but it does show some distrust in the house, plus something like this would likely have plenty of security... Never mind me- I'm not as worried because I figure Ignite Dragonmark will be plenty of protection for Danir :)
3)Already addressed the glove- looks like its a go if you want!
Absylon |
Hence the reason Absylon has the quickchange cloak and would be putting his disguise on somewhere else... As for acquiring the quickchange cloak I think it would be a fairly easy thing to do in Sharn, it does after all have quite a legitimate use... Theater.

New Question: Does Craft: Alchemy checks require 1 week for a roll in your opinion? And does a normal work week equal 7 days at 8 hours each for a total of 56 hours? I ask because at that rate, for Danir to make a standard Acid Flask on a take 10 check will require him to spend 14 hours, and that seems pretty long- he can make a 2000 GP magic item in 16 hours.

How long until the ceremony GM?
I had my own ceremony yesterday. I turned the tassel from my right to my left. :) It was my graduation ceremony and it was the best day of the whole month. I sacrificed not going with boy scouts so I can actually enjoy graduating from college and getting my Bachelor's degree. YAY!! :)

It would be awesome if you can get a temporary tattoo (psionic or spell) to replicate house Thrask's mark of finding.

Sounding like I should have set up a game of treasure hunting. :) I was reading a lot of Hunter X Hunter (and watching it too). But, yeah, approved. The dorje is a dorje of energy ball.

Being done university is awesome. The only bad part is you usually have to find a job afterwards. I was lucky and already had stuff lined up before grad.

Absylon wrote:GM I think I will get such a tattoo if it won't appear on Absylon, that could wreck the entire disguise...If you become a tattooed sorcerer, I think you might be able . . .
Just a sec . . .
Hisoka on Hunter X Hunter used his texture ability to transmute a patch of paper to make it appear as a tattoo. Under the rules, you can use a patch of a special psychoactive skin that has the same properties to make it appear you have the dragonmark.
although people might expect you to use it, but that's the option. :)

that's pretty cool.
not sure if this will get you the same idea, up to GM Elton
ALSO, its a dorje of energy ball that i have. what is the element that it is set at? or can i choose which element when i use it?
and how many remaining charges?

How much would books on Houses Cannith, Deneith, Lyrandar, Tharashk cost? As these are the Houses that it makes sense for Thrask to have knowledge in, both because he has companions in these houses and because they are directly involved in his success as a mercenary contractor.
