The Astrolabe is an Eldritch Machine, of course they would have something terrible to protect it. :)

i once played a FR game where the party all contracted lycanthropy (except my character, who was killed by one of the PCs who didnt know they had lycanthropy). The DM then fast-forwarded us to 6th level based on all the experiences they had as werewolves before being captured and cured.

Except Essar is the only one that contracted lycanthropy.

Well, maybe the citadel is doing experiments on lycanthropes or something? Might not be a particularly pleasant experience for Essar...
at least until he "escapes" and tries to get revenge as an NPC.

What Xov thinks of the other PCs, part 4

Danir:

My confidence in this one is shaking a bit...
he still seems to be by a large margin the most competent adventurer in our group. On the other hand, I am increasingly unsure as to the extend of his loyalty to his house. To what degree is he loyal to the house of making, and to what degree is he simply using his dragonmarked status to aid our own objectives?
On the other hand, does he really feel loyalty to our group and mission? Or is he just using us to garner influence within his house?
A week ago I was more comfortable, but...given his recent shift in attitude, and his request to sidetrack from our current quest, I am beginning to wonder if he truly cares only for his house. I suppose only time will tell.

Ebran:
He seems to be adapting to a life of stealth rather quickly. He has shown a tendency to be overly deferential to the group's plans, which makes him easy to work with. Although, it may also make him easier for enemies to manipulate him.

Essar (for the last time!):
When he was bitten by a werewolf, I thought for a minute that he started to mature somewhat, almost spontaneously. I cannot tell whether it , as his subsequent attitude did not change very much, and he lacked the time for more substantial change. I am not particularly happy that he is gone, now, but then, I am not particularly unhappy about it either.

Othan:
[i]Very little change here. Othan remains a valuable and dependable, yet easily controllable, companion. I am very curious about the nature of his psionic power...more so than he seems to be, even.

notable question, I have the character concept pinned to a cypher yet I need to know (beyond healing) what is the group really missing?

From what I can see--
a)A high diplomacy modifier. When we get to the point where we can readily afford +2 to multiple ability score items (how long until then depends a lot on how many cost-reducing effects Danir can get), I could potentially get max ranks in diplomacy seeing as I have the highest charisma, but if you have the skill points for it and are making a high-charisma character then that would probably work better.
b)Mass buffs. To a lesser extent, mass debuffs. We have a lot of single-target effects, it is the group-buffs that are missing.

For convenience, the following are long-duration, unlimited use, self-buffs that Xov will periodically renew unless mentioned otherwise:
Levitate (Sp, from Greater Drow Nobility feat, 1 min/level)
Detect Magic (Constant, from greater drow nobility)
Prestidigitation (1 hr duration, will not be renewed if stealth is being used due to the verbal component)
Message (10 min/level duration, also will not be renewed during times of stealth).
