Fendahl, appears to be a half-elf with a hint of wild in his appearance, especially his silvery hair and sideburns. His katana and blue dragonhide armor are covered with markings from the far East. A emblem of a golden lion on the chest plate.
Looking remarkably similar to the emblem, a large lioness follows Fendahl closeby, watching for commands or an occasional treat from his companion.
He bows in deep eastern fashion to each of those assembled,
"My name is Fendahl, and it is my honor to travel with each of you."
Turning finally back to face Alie.
"Greetings, Lady Saechel. Many seasons have passed since we last traveled together.
I hope the open road has provided many opportunities for enlightenment."
The little gnome squeals as she recognizes the wild half elf. "Fendahl, it's so nice to see you again! What have you been up to," she asks, giving a giant hug. "I'll tell you one thing, if you ever encounter a xill. Run in the opposite direction. Run as fast as you can," she whispers, letting him know a bit about her only failed mission since the two of them saw each other last.
Alie finally lets Fendahl go, and then turns her attention to Kirrah! "Hey there buddy...you've grown a little since I saw you last I think. You remember me? I used to sneak you sausages when ole Fendahl over there wasn't watching! It's very nice to see you as well." Alie didn't hug the large feline however, figuring she didn't want to be mistaken for another sausage.

A muscular half-orc man with ash-gray skin, which has been seared with dozens of elaborate brands and tattoos, is seated in a chair. The tattoos seem to mostly venerate Gorum, and are iconography of death and battle. They're also on display since the half-orc isn't wearing a shirt, or anything else above the waist.
He is sharpening a curved knife nearly the length of his forearm, and grunts wordlessly at the pleasantries exchanged between the others. Always talking, talking, talking. He squints briefly at the lioness in the room, weighing the threat she poses, and then he returns to drawing the whetstone against his blade, shink, shiiink.
"Drax," he mutters, as his sole concession to the pleasantries of the more civilized Pathfinders. Probably it's meant as a name.

This figure is skeletally thin underneath his maroon duster. Under the jacket, he wears a tight black suit covered in straps. He moves with an unsettling grace. His face is covered in some kind of strange technological breathing apparatus. Underneath the yellowed lenses of his mask, the area around his eyes is darkened, accentuating his sharp brow and fierce gaze.
He floats several feet above the ground, waving his hands through the air with hypnotic flowing motions.
"My code name...is Psycho Mantis...I am the world's greatest master...of psychokinesis and telepathy...I am here...to find secrets...."
His voice has a filtered, mechanical quality from behind his mask, his words coming out in sharp bursts of static. His breathing is constantly audible.

Probably the most nondescript of this motley crew, a fairly slight human in a travel-worn blue cloak enters. He's got Desna's Starknife symbol on a chain about his neck, and a pretty nice longbow slung on his back.
Well, this is quite a gathering! It's always a pleasure after all these years with the Society to be surprised.
He looks over his new companions for the upcoming mission, giving each of them a close scrutiny. Val, servant of Desna. I'll do my best to keep you all alive and hitting hard. He glances at Drax with an appreciative smile, which widens further at the lion. I'm sure some of you won't need much help in that second part...
Updated and ready! Except that I reserve the right to prepare spells after we hear about the mission. I do, in fact, do requests, so if you'd like to see something specific clerical-wise, don't be shy!

Drax wrinkles his nose at the skinny flying man. Very noisy, breathing through his strange helmet. Probably he is deformed, to hide his face.
Shiink, shiiiink.
He eyes the also-skinny human with the bow. "Healing's good," he grunts. Hm. He sets the knife down across his lap, then pulls out a pack from beneath his chair. Out of this he produces a piece of wood about ten inches long, etched with little runes, which he thrusts at Val.
"I can't use it."
Knife and whetstone are picked back up. Shiiink.
(I'm sure we have no shortage of wands in a high-level group like this, but feel free to use Drax's CLW wand charges on him in out-of-combat heals rather than your own spells. That wand has 3 left but I'm sitting on another full one, so heyo.)
Alie turns to the floating masked man. "Ooooooo, now that is more like it. Really interesting. How do you float like that all the time? I can Fly with a spell, but not all the time like it seems you can do. Do you think you could teach me that trick? Is it oKy if I just call you Mantis? That Psycho part seems mean. I don't like that," Alie barrages the strange spell caster with random questions, not allowing any time to answer.
"I can't float but I can do this," she adds cheerily, as she concentrates for a second and the bow in her hair briefly glows, as she becomes a foot shorter and a great deal wider. "It's a magical hat," she whispers, hoping to impress the masked man.

In his many years with the Society Val has learned to read his fellow Agents quickly, and to respect their idiosyncrasies. Drax is a silent one...that's fair. No need to try to draw him out.
Val takes the wand with a firm nod and a serious understood and tucks it in his belt so it's still visible
A cloaked figure stands in a corner of the room, staring silently at the persons, weighting whether or not he should speak.
He eventually moves slowly and speak with a rasping voice.
"I'm Tiller Voros, sent by the Bellflower Network. Pleased to meet you all."
Voros is rather small and if most of his flesh is hidden by an ample and dirty cloak, you can see his face, which is ugly and has a grey-red color. You also notice that his teeth are pretty sharp.
You can see a long tail that unfolds itself from time to time from under the cloak. The only weapon he seems to carry is a longbow.
A sudden flash illuminates the dark sky, revealing an imposing stone bastion that cracks the smooth horizon. Arcs of lightning dance across the rain-soaked heavens in concert with the booming drums of thunder. Thick drops drench everything they touch, and cause pools of water to puddle on the winding dirt road. This road abruptly ends at a looming stone staircase that climbs to a stone causeway leading to the bastion’s formidable walls. Caradoc Alazario waits, shackled within. Venture-Captain Adril Hestram’s familiar voice booms once more in your ears from several weeks ago in balmy Absalom...
“Friends!” exclaimed Hestram. “May I introduce Bartavious Vlade, a generous patron and collector of obscure artifacts.” As Bartavious stood, his girth squeezed out from his chair. His jowls quivered as he spoke.
“Greetings. Recently, I funded an exploration into the Sodden Lands to uncover astrological trappings from the Saoc Brethren. Although the mission failed to bare any such objects, what we did find was more interesting. Hidden inside the ruins of sunken Oagon, my expedition discovered a vile series of pitted bronze disks.” Bartavious’s face darkened, “Translating these disks revealed their gruesome nature. Dedicated to Urgathoa, these tableaus depicted obscene rituals. Knowing these disks represented evil, I intended to ask the society to secure them within their many vaults for safe keeping.” Whispering, Bartavious continued, “Urgathoa herself must have sensed the disks, for as our ship sailed back to Absalom, that bastard Chelish pirate, Caradoc Alazario, stole the cargo!” Bartavious squished once more into his chair; through gasps he offered, “I have spent a fortune and finally located the pirate, who now rots inside a bastion within the Sodden Lands. His own cousin, the Mayor of Egorian, placed a bounty on his head too rich to pass up. Now, our disks rest at the bottom of the sea inside Caradoc’s sunken ship. I provided your Venture-Captain with all the details.”
Adril Hestram smiled. “We have work to do—make your way to this bastion and break out the pirate Caradoc Alazario. Our ship can’t approach the bastion, so you’ll need to acquire another one in order to flee with the pirate. In exchange for his freedom, ask him to take you to the site of his shipwreck.” Hestram looked a bit sheepish as he continued, “It looks like you are all going for a swim—so go prepared.”
A crash of lightning banishes the memory, bringing chill winds and unrelenting rain. Up ahead, at the end of the stone causeway, the Chelish bastion stands resolute, hinting at calmer conditions within.
Tethered together by entrails from an unrecognizable beast, these four bronze, pitted disks, each the size of a human fist, hold esteem within the cults of Urgathoa.
Knowledge Religion DC 20:
The disks were given as a gift to Dason for penning the text Serving Your Hunger. Rumors suggest his magical skills swelled once he received this award.
Knowledge Religion DC 25:
A strong necromantic aura radiates from the disks.
Knowledge Religion DC 30:
When viewed during a moonless, starless night, occult lore suggests the def iled disks of Urgathoa meld into one large bronze plate, and if the wielder eats a meal from this plate, she is favored by Urgathoa herself.

Holy hot dam!! My day job is Sailor! I got +15 on that!!
Val beams at the thought of the open sea. Well well well!! Finally, a mission that appeals to one of my specialties! I may be able to assist in procuring a ship, and I can definitely help sailing it once we do get it.
and a good thing I held spell preparation too...
So, I need some clarity. Our mission is to secure the freedom of this pirate, and get him to take us to the sunken ship, where we then retrieve these disks--correct? And we're approaching the bastion (prison??) he's in now? Were we given any indication of what it might take to get him out? How about how to get our hands on a ship?
For group knowledge: I've prepped 2 Water Breathing, so that won't be an issue. swimming might...Freedom of Movement is a domain spell for me, but I can only prep 4 total L4 spells (and I was only planning to prep one, unless others convince me otherwise...) Any other thoughts/ideas?

Drax cares little for the many gods of others, and knows nothing of their religions. He grunts sourly at the notion of underwater fighting, but has nothing much to offer to the problems of swimming other than the strength of his limbs. He reaches into his pack again and pulls out a small coin pouch, upending thirty platinum coins into his palm.
"For scrolls," he says flatly, slapping the coins down on the table.
I can only contribute ~300 GP to any more scrolls we need to purchase, alas. However, the scroll that Alie has can be divided between people, as well as Val's casts of it, which would mean 50 hours to divide among the party-- that seems like way more than enough. One scroll + one cast would be 30 hours to divide: we might be able to get away with that. Slipstream is a level 2 spell which is 10 minutes/level and grants the creature touched a 20' swim speed. Possible cheaper option than Freedom of Movement. /my attempts at useful suggestions
Drax wordlessly looks over his pack and gear, allowing others to discuss spells and magic. He far prefers to work under his own power, but past missions have taught him it is not always feasible. He side-eyes the floating man, and simply touches his curved knives to reassure himself they are ready to go.
(I figure I'll let us iron out prep purchases before posting in regards to us at the prison.)
Flashback: "Well, if you believe this sort of thing, Besmara seems to approve." Adril chuckles before continuing, "The bastion isn't TOO well defended. Sneak or blast, whatever it takes. The good news is the timing. The crew on hand there is just a skeleton crew. Most are off carousing. If you don't take too long, there shouldn't be too much violence." Adril listens and nods, "Aye, I'd expect some underwater action. The quartermaster here is stocked up on anything you might need. Gold or favors, whatever you want to cash in."
Once you guys feel ready, check in and I'll advance.

Y'all don't need to spend yer gold and use yet scrolls!! I'll prep extra water breathing if you think we need more than 4 hours each (that's 2 castings from me). I also have a pearl of power 3 for a freebie. And Fendal can cast it too. Save yer resources for when you DONT have the foreknowledge!
Looking at Slipstream it's unclear to me whether the Swim speed is good only at the surface...
I'm going to rule it works. Swim speed indicates you can naturally swim. If they ment it for surface only, I'd guess it'd say "when swimming on the surface, you get a swim speed.
Alie will buy two scrolls of Slipstream, which should last 30 minutes at a time. Per Val's post, I will hold off on buying any other scrolls of Water Breathing, assuming that is okay with everyone.
You are, somewhat unceremoniously, dropped off via dinghy on the dark side of the island prison. You come ashore a mile or so north of the bastion after the lengthy boat ride from Absalom and now have to make your way down the coast to the prison. Rain and wind pound the bastion, reducing visibility*
It's about a mile walk, if you typically cast spells each day, now's the time to call them out. Your approach technique is up to you, just describe your technique. At the moment it's too far to get overly specific about your entry options.
*So long as you are outside, take a –4 penalty on Perception checks and ranged weapon attacks. The rain and wind automatically extinguish unprotected f lames

OK, Slipstream scroll X2 for me--as long as someone can cast it for me, as I cannot.
If anyone cares to view what spells I've prepared, they're on my profile (* means 1 prep). I normally prep Dispel Magic, but DID NOT this time. 3d level spells are 2 Water Breathing, Stone Shape, and prayer (domain=Fly; might come in handy before getting in the water...). I'm also doing Locate Object as 2nd level domain spell, since I believe it'll help find the disks if necessary.
I prepared Silence, but with this weather we probably don't need it yet...

This type of commune requires no material component, and the duration equals 1 round per psychic class level you possess. He gets 10 questions. I came up with 10 on my own, but other people are free to toss in suggestions of their own
Potential Questions:
Will we have better results if we sneak in to rescue Caradoc than if we blasted our way in directly?
Did Caradoc know what he was stealing?
Was Bartavious telling the truth when he said that he intended to give the disks over to the society for safekeeping?
Are there intelligent undead within Caradoc's ship?
Are there non-intelligent undead within Caradoc's ship?
Will Caradoc attempt to double-cross us if we take him with us to the ship?
Was Caradoc enticed to steal the discs by anyone else?
Are there any large sea monsters such as kraken within the area of the wreckage?
Will the discs already be combined into the plate when we find them?
Do we have sufficient spells and items for recovering the disks from the ship?
Alie was just fascinated by the floating mage and his writing tools. "How do you do that? Is it the mask? It has to be the mask! Can you show me where you bought it? If it will let me float like that, I'll save up and buy one! Look, I can cast that spell too," Alie says as she tries to impress the mind mage.
Alie casts Heroism on Fendahl, which will last 100 minutes.

I've tried to lay them out clearly on his sheet, and I'll try to keep my stat line updated accurately in the game, but just putting it out there. He has a jingasa. GM permitting, he doesn't look like he's wearing any armor, because it's glamered (i.e., glamered says it looks like a 'normal set of clothes', but, well, this is Drax, so ideally it looks like a complete lack of shirt, because how else can he show off his pecs and his tats?).
This is actually my first time playing him in anything not Emerald Spire; our local Emerald Spire fell apart and is unlikely to resume, so it's time to see how he fares in a regular scenario when he doesn't have the party he normally had around him, heh. He was a niche build for that party and we'll see how it goes!
I'll go through his sheets today and look at his boons, but I don't think there's anything special.
Thanks for the info Drax. Technically speaking it's command word to make your armor look like clothes (it's a standard action.) That being said, you can picture your armor however you want :-)

More aimed at the party than the GM: is anyone else intending to get into melee? Without looking at individual builds, the initial sign-up looked like a bunch of casters, which is part of why I brought Drax despite him being low tier, but Drax is always happy for flank buddies to pick up a little extra damage on attacks. That said, that's not a request, just a nice bonus if anyone is more melee-oriented than their stereotypical class line might suggest. :P

eta Don't we actually play the high tier? We're right in the middle and we're a party of 6. I always get fuzzy on this, but from the guide:
"When the APL of a table
is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario),
a party of four characters must play the lower tier without
any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven
characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play
the higher tier with the four-character adjustment."

Sounds great, Val. :) And cheers for the offer of requests-- great support buffers are a boon to every party. I'll take a glance at the cleric spells.
eta: I wouldn't turn down a Weapon of Awe if you have a 2nd level slot free, just for whenever things start looking dicey. Beyond that, Drax's Will save is fairly crummy, so whatever you think might be good in the event of charms, dominates, fears, and all those other fighter-bane kinda things would certainly not be turned down (note to self, purchase that clear spindle soon). But whatever you wanna prep. :)
AC 17 T 13 (17 vs incorp) FF 14 | HP 85/85 | F +13 R +10 W +15 (+1 vs fear/confusion) | Init +2| Perc +22

Human Psychic/10
I've got three extended heroisms a day. Psycho will be taking one for himself, and Drax can have one :)
Between me and Alie "Hello, Darling! My Champion...." ;), we should be able to keep Heroism up on everyone I think.
I will eventually be Telepathic Bonding all of us, once the timing is appropriate (it will last for 100 minutes). I get one free use as an SLA, and I can sac' spell slots of 4th or higher to cast it again to keep it up.
Thanks Val. Games are my favorite escape. If I'm near a computer or Wayfinder, I'll find a way to post. That being said, I'll be offline Friday and Saturday this week.
I have an idea to make this scene work smoothly. Let's see how it goes...
Once we handle Round 1 of the storm, I may make future rounds one massive post. At the table this scene would be fast dice rolling and me gesticulating wildly (with a 3D model of course.) One massive post may make it easier to advance without sacrificing anything. Hope you guys don't mind.
Hail! Chronicles are HERE I made a special one for Alie after the Storm scene. If there's anything you need changed, please don't hesitate to PM me. I'll likely close this thread tomorrow afternoon (or sooner if everyone checks in and is all set.)
I do have a post 12 character, but I'm playing her at a Con in a few weeks, and I think she might be a bit ahead of the curve of your regular seeker group in terms of levels (14 now, should hit 15 at the Con). Also she's played Academy, alas.
