***Biography***

Physical Description

Venta'kyori Cedeleon Reave is tall for a drow, standing at 6'2" and 145lbs. His skin-color is on the darker side of the drow-spectrum, but not as jet-black as some of his kinsmen are. His eyes are completely white and seem bright when contrasted to his skin. His thin, long hair has a similar characteristic, and is usually worn down with charms and ornaments braided in with the strands under his temples. His build is that of a gymnast; not too big in size, but highly dense and strong. He adopted his wardrobe from "surfacers", mainly inspired by Varisian designs, but have been modified to reflect more of what he is used to wearing in the Underdark. His armor and hooded-cloak, that he was given as a guardsmen of the shadowy house of Misraria, is still in his possession, though they have seen better days. Leather boots and bracers, two drow curved short-swords (wakizashis), a dark-colored crossbow, and shurikens holstered in strategic parts of his body, complete this resourceful demon-hunter's attire. One of his swords is forged in the typical style of House Misraria, and the other is more sinister looking, the blade obviously made of cold-iron.

Personality

Two words summarize Cid's personality: "calm" and "calculating". He reacts to situations with little emotion, because he'd rather think of a quick solution to a problem than waste time reveling in the passions they create. People he has a positive disposition toward find Cid a caring individual, not apparent with words, but with his actions. In fact, Cid tries to say as little as possible, speaking efficiently and often in his native tongue in order to not draw out unnecessary bantering. To those he has a negative disposition toward, they find themselves virtually nonexistent to him. If one were to truly wrong Cid, such as the members of his former house did, one would not see a reaction for some indefinite time, until the perfect (and I stress, perfect) opportunity presents itself for his vengeance to be fulfilled. Despite his chronic grudge-holding, Cid is not opposed to friends, and those that are friends with him find he is one of the best, though his elitist attitude he unknowingly possesses must be met with patience and understanding from said friends.

Backstory
Cedeleon Reave is a drow native to the Underdark. He was part of the shadowy house of Misraria, who specialize in spying, assassinations, and other "behind the scenes" endeavors of politics and society. His former patron deity is Nocticula. Cid was an exceptional spy and assassin for the house, and as he rose is rank, so did the affections of one of the noblewoman. She took Cid for her husband, as he had no choice. Love is not the same in the Underdark. There is no honor, no sense of commitment. Men simply abide by the rules of the women. He reluctantly became her husband. Just as they began growing fond of each other, his wife became pregnant. Though he and her are both of nobility, the child was not. As is customary in drow culture, children born from nobles that are not noble themselves are sacrificed to their patron lords. This greatly disturbed Cid. Surprisingly, for a drow, he had loved that child dearly. Little did they know that Cid himself was not born of nobility, but developed the noble-powers often believed to be innate through training. Cid had to watch his baby girl meet her demise before she could even open her eyes; worse yet, by the hands of her own mother. Disgusted and feeling betrayed, his world inverted. He saw the self-destructive, perpetually anarchic drow-society, as a blight upon life. Their very beliefs, culture, and lack of order was deemed a pollution that must be cleansed. That sense of love he felt, a fusion that drove him to feel happiness not derived at the expense of others, but self-created, changed him drastically. He believed his people could overcome their destructive ways. Over the years, he began to talk, and a small group from house Misraria, including some members from other houses, began to admire this new way of thinking; a new way to achieve power without destroying themselves. The dissent, though a mere shadow of drow-counterculture, was met abruptly and harshly. Despite the amorphousness of the organization, it was quickly dissipated, but not without Cid enacting his revenge upon his own house. Those loyal to him that served with him for decades aided him in his cause, but to no avail. Cid and one of his trusted guards, Elluvean, were chased to the first tier of the Underdark; the "wilds" of the cavernous world. Just as he thought he had escaped to safety, he was met with betrayal, struck down by his life-long comrade and war buddy. As he laid dying, Elluvean crouched down and whispered in his ear, "I'm saving you, my captain... my friend." With that, he ran off, his fate unknown. It is very possible Elluvean was still in alliance with house Misraria, acting as an undercover agent. It is also possible that he stabbed Cedeleon just right, so that he may live but his death be apparent to the drow, so he may continue his fight another day. Cid does not remember how he emerged to the surface world (Chance Encounter trait), but he remembers moving along a road, slung over a horse being ridden by a female; a human, which is a race he has seldom encountered. He was brought to a home, in a place called the River Kingdoms. This family of humans treated his wounds and housed him until he rehabilitated. It was a culture shock. This did not happen in the Underdark. He would have been discarded, not cared for unless the injuries could be treated quickly with magic. Following his new beliefs, he began assisting with the farm, especially when the head of the house, Kieran Crane, had to leave for long periods of time to work. They all grew close, as close as anyone could get toward Cid, which was still quite far. His drastically different appearance did not seem to disturb the family. Perhaps they just assumed him to be a type of elf, though just how different the drow are from their common elven ancestors is unknown to them. Now a virtual member of the family, Cid and Kieran began working together. Mercenary partners, of sorts. Their partnership did many good things for the family, not just financially, but also emotionally. Once the call for the crusade was heard, they both realized that though their family is not yet directly threatened, it is a threat that could quickly become real to them, and it must be stopped before it has time to loom on the horizon. They journeyed to the Worldwound, where their adventure truly begins.
