Galnikatix |
Walking into the white corridor, she runs her left hand along the wall feeling it surface, as the walls seem perfectly smooth and straight from top to bottom, for never seen building material in her life, and is in awe. She uses her scythe as a walking sticking in her right hand, with it tapping on the strange smooth surface making an unusual sound.
Pity we are unable to destroy those abominations.
Take it we are at B11.
Kurgu |
Kurgu nods to Falv as his wounds ease.
"Aye, but you do a good job. And these corridors are *wrong*."
Mira Oralia |
Mira was following in quiet contemplation, looking at the change in the surfaces, as well as what they had encountered so far. "I am not sure that they are 'wrong', so much as they are perhaps crafted beyond anything that we have seen. I do not know the material, do you?" She was torn between awe and worry, wondering about the makers of this place, and their intentions.
Kurgu |
"I do not. My people have suffered enough from the attentions of technological monsters and I would see these robots smashed.", Kurgu replies, tension in his voice.
Kul'Theraka |
"They bring all sorts or strange and alien things with them," Kul'Theraka says in response to Kurgu. He looks around the halls and growled. He wished he could drive all of the robot lifeforms and their 'technology' from the land. "To the left?"
Phineas T Nalinder |
"I'd rather see the technology put to good use myself. And I know the good professor would also love to see the same." Phineas examines the walls, nearby, brushing his hands onto the walls. "There certainly is a lot more we could learn from this culture. Did they always have such technology? Did the ones who built this place know all the ins and outs, or were they only privy to their effects?" Phineas continued rambling.
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
Falv nods along to what Phineas is saying. "Yes, all good questions. Me and old Khonnir will probably spending a good many years down here studying all of this. You know once we find him."
He studies the odd metal trying to place what it is. Visions of new and wonderful sculptures and contraptions using the odd metal fill his mind. "I can only imagine the spectacular things I could create with metal like this."

He begins to move further down the hallway before but stops in his tracks upon hearing Galn. He sighs and shakes his head. "Boy, I hope you do know that by uttering those words you have most certainly just made sure we will run into more skeletons."
Kurgu |
"I doubt it is a coincidence that even smashed undead rise again in this place of technology. But if the dead rise, we will send them back to the ground as often as we need to. There must be a way to end them for good."
DireMerc |
You decide to investigate the closest door. It opens with a woosh as you get close.
The air in this room seems to buzz and hum with energy. Strips of glowing rectangles light the room from above, while strange flickering windows line the east and west walls. A large glass topped circular table sits in the middle of the room. To the north sits a large metal desk covered with blinking lights, while a humming pillar of purple and-black metal stands nearby, its sides flashing with tendrils of violet energy. A single golden panel flashes with a soft but incessant light on the side of this pillar. A thick layer of dust coats everything, diffusing the lights shining from the various surfaces, and many of the machines seem to be damaged, cracked, or otherwise ruined.
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
Falv cautiously walks into the room with axe and shield ready. If the coast is clear then he'll step up to the odd pillar with the flashing lights and examines it.

Kul'Theraka |
"Be careful with that stuff," Kul'Theraka says from the doorway. "No telling what will happen if you touch the wrong thing. That flashing golden panel, in particular, is concerning." I'd rather have something to rip apart than a glowing bunch of tables that could cause who knows what to happen. While he waits for the others to look around the room he scans it himself looking for any signs of a concealed door.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
Falv shrugs. "Welp seems harmless to me." He then pushes the golden panel.
DireMerc |
Pressing the gold panel causes the room to suddenly whir and hum. A series of muffled clicking and buzzing sounds echo through the walls, and a moment later, the circular table in this room flares to life, providing a holographic projection of the habitat module on its surface. Numerous panels on the wall fill with static (these once connected to hidden cameras in the habitat module that have long since been destroyed), and the pillar of purple metal flashes and begins to pulsate.
Several symbols glow above the holographic valley. A sun, a moon, clouds, a water drop and a few others your not sure what they are.
Kurgu |
Kurgu tenses, ready to strike should a robot come to battle them.
"Can any interpret the symbols?"
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
Falv moves over to the projection table and investigates its various symbols and projections.

She steps back as the entire you goes crazy with sounds, lights flashing and walls going very noisy. Ready to strike anything that comes towards her. One the hologram appears on the table, and others start looking at it, she pokes the translucent image with the end of her scythe.
Muttering herself in strix, in how strange this place is.
Kul'Theraka |
"That thing seems pretty interesting but I don't see how it could help us at the moment. I think we should check behind the other door." Kul'Theraka says, "If we find it leads nowhere, we could then come back to these controls and perhaps make it safer to enter that cave. Speaking of that, can you scry on that cave and perhaps see what is in there with this thing?"
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
Falv nods at Kurgu and Kul and sees about trying to see if the system can do those things. He first tries turning it to day, then next tries to see if there is some kind of scrying function available.
Kurgu |
Kurgu sees the floor plan and he grins.
"I can read this. The Kellid make a point of knowing our enemies - and their speech."
DireMerc |
The floor plan seems to show a rather massive structure almost 2 miles across but most of it is marked with red lights showing destroyed or dangerous sections. The areas with the least damage is were you are with is in an area called "habitation" there is a nearby hallway that leads into an area called "science and research" and beyond that is a section marked "engineering"
Galnikatix |
Looking the dwarf, she takes the varying changes in awe, seeing how the ghostly scene changes. So glad someone can read this strange script.
Seeing the map of the entire structure, she points at the area they are in, That small splotch there is that massive room where we fought the skelis? This place is huge! I guess plenty walking dead we going to have to deal with. What is special about the red areas? pointing to multi red areas.
Kul'Theraka |
"Can you use that thing to look for Khonnir? Otherwise we need to sweep the area starting with the nearest locations. Clear it and move on until we find the old man." Kul'Theraka offers.
Falvastar Kraigsmith |
"I'd guess that Khonnir would probably hole up in the Habitation section, so let's head there."
Kurgu |
"How far are science or engineering? And are there any conveyances that we can use to get there swifter?"
Kul'Theraka |
"What's this other door out in the hall lead to? Is it the science place you mentioned or the observation room? Either way, I vote we check this door, then move onto the science department. If the doors takes us there, then we push through to engineering." Kul'Theraka offers. "It's dangerous to sit in one spot too long. The vermin tend to creep up on you that way."
DireMerc |
You ignore the observation room and proceed down the hall to the science area.
A large metal desk with blinking lights and strange glowing panels sits atop a raised area on the east side of this room near a circular table. Two couches covered with black material sit to the south a pair of black metal pillars. Splatters of dried blood stain the floor and walls near a pair of doors to the north, while here and there patches of rust-red mold and fungus cling to the doors on the southern wall. The room itself is brightly lit by glowing panels on the ceiling.
Kul'Theraka |
Kul'Theraka looks around the room and moves to the doors. He squats to check the blood spatters and to look for other evidence of what may have happened.

When Kul moves closer to the doors they open revealing a long winding hallway that turns to the right.
Bloodstains mar the floor and walls of this hallway, while scorch marks and smears of ash on the walls evidence some sort of altercation having taken place in this area relatively recently. Four tangled mounds of metal and other materials lie further up the hall, surrounded by strangely coloured stains.
Kul'Theraka |
"Ahh, the game is afoot." Kul'Theraka says and quietly eases his way down the hall to the corner. He then peers around to see what he can see. darkvision 90', if it matters
