SPECIAL ABILITIES
=================================================
Aspect of the Bear (Su) The aspect of the bear invokes a juggernaut of tireless endurance and furious power. Those who take this aspect are known for surviving severe wounds and delivering punishing blows in return.

Minor Aspect of the Bear (Su) You gain a +2 enhancement bonus to your Constitution score.

Bonus Languages A shifter's bonus language options include Sylvan, the language of woodland creatures, and Aklo, the tongue spoken by certain sinister fey or otherworldly denizens of reaches of the wild rarely explored by humanity. These choices are in addition to the bonus languages available to the character because of her race. A shifter speaks Druidic, a secret language known only to druids and shifters, which she learns upon becoming a 1st-level shifter. Druidic is a free language for a shifter; that is, she knows it in addition to her regular allotment of languages, and it doesn't take up a language slot. Shifters are forbidden to teach this language to non-druids or non-shifters.

Class Skills

Darkvision (Ex) Range 60 ft.; Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black and white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise-invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.

Darkvision Strix can see in the dark up to 60 feet.

Defensive Instinct (Ex) When unarmored, not using a shield, unencumbered, and conscious, the shifter adds 3 to her AC and CMD. If she is wearing nonmetal armor or using a nonmetal shield, she instead adds 1 to her AC. These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks and when the shifter is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless. These bonuses do not stack with the monk AC bonus class feature.

Hatred (Ex) Strix have a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against humans.

Low-Light Vision Strix can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.

Master of Peaks You have made it to the summits of a number of the Wall of Heaven's peaks, and your body is used to the effects of both extreme cold and high altitude. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Fortitude saving throws made against the effects of cold dangers and altitude sickness.

Nocturnal (Ex) Strix gain a +2 racial bonus on Perception and Stealth checks in dim light or darkness.

Shifter Aspect (Su) At 1st level, a shifter gains her first aspect-a category of animal to which her body and soul have become supernaturally attuned. She can shift into her aspect's minor form for 6 minutes per day. The duration need not be consecutive but must be spent in 1-minute increments. Shifting into a minor form is a swift action, while ending the effect is a free action that can be taken only on the shifter's turn. Until a shifter gains the chimeric aspect class feature, she can assume only one minor form at a time. Shifting to a new aspect (or aspects, in the case of chimeric aspects or greater chimeric aspects) ends all minor forms currently manifested. The minor forms of aspects are not polymorph effects, and the shifter does not lose the benefits of a minor form while affected by polymorph effects. As the shifter gains levels, she gains more aspects.

Shifter Claws (Su) At will, a shifter in her natural form can extend her claws as a swift action to use as a weapon. This magical transformation is fueled as much by the shifter's faith in the natural world as it is by inborn talent. The claws on each hand can be used as a primary natural attack, dealing 1d4 points of piercing and slashing damage. If she uses one of her claw attacks in concert with a weapon held in the other hand, the claw acts as a secondary natural attack instead. Her claws count as magic weapons and ignore DR/cold iron, and DR/silver.

Spirit Sense You are so attuned to the spiritual world that it is hard to get the jump on you. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Perception checks to avoid being surprised and to detect invisible or incorporeal creatures.

Tough You gain a +1 racial bonus on Fortitude saves.

Track (Ex) A shifter adds +1 as a bonus on Survival checks to follow tracks.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies A shifter is proficient with the following weapons: club, dagger, dart, quarterstaff, scimitar, scythe, sickle, shortspear, sling, and spear. She is also proficient with the natural attacks (claw, bite, and so forth) from the shifter claws class feature and of forms she assumes with wild shape. Shifters are proficient with light and medium armor but are prohibited from wearing metal armor. A shifter can wear wooden armor that has been altered by the ironwood spell so that it functions as if it were steel. Shifters are proficient with shields (except tower shields) but must use only those crafted from wood. A shifter who wears prohibited armor or uses a prohibited shield is unable to use her shifter aspect, shifter claws, wild shape, and other shifter supernatural or spell-like abilities while doing so and for 24 hours thereafter.

Wild Empathy (Ex) A shifter can improve the attitude of an animal. This ability functions as a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person (Core Rulebook p93). The shifter rolls 1d20 and adds her shifter level and Charisma modifier to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly. To use wild empathy, the shifter and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another and under normal conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time. The shifter can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but she takes a -4 penalty on the check.

Woodland Stride (Ex) A shifter can move through any sort of undergrowth (such as briars, natural thorns, overgrown areas, and similar terrain) at her normal speed and without taking damage or suffering any other impairment. Briars, thorns, and overgrown areas that are enchanted or magically manipulated to impede motion still affect the shifter.

Gender Female
Eyes White pupiless
Ears Sharply pointed towards back
Nose Only slitted nostrils
Hair Short white hair
Skin Onyx coloured
Dominant Hand Right
Age 18 Max: 60

Appearance
She is no different from the usual strix of Devil's Perch, having slightly glossy onyx colour slender body complimenting her uncovered large mat black feathered wings folded behind her back. Of her face she has not the typical nose, but only slitted nostrils and pair of backward sharply pointed ears lying over her snow white short hair with matching white pupilless eyes for striking contrast. She wears a simple grey coloured tunic under the padded armour especially make for strix to allow the wings to function unhindered. Generally she has no footwear, relying on her talon-like feet to have better grip on perches. A dagger on her right side, and small bag on her left holding other small items. She keeps her purse inside her tunic in front. She has a small belt pouch in front wear she keeps a few coins. Her cape is normally tied around her waist when not wearing it, usually when she has no intention to fly for a while and wanting to keep warm or keep dry in the rain. Her slender hands are not covered. Her wingspan is 12".

Personality
Very much a loner, preferring nature as company. She does tolerate humans, will not outright attack humans like other strix would do. Her elven druid and human shifter mentors taught her well, to value a person on their individual deeds, not that of the larger population. Though she won't make any effect to social with, other than those she trusts, such as her mentor. She cautious with natural wisdom, though when she acts it is with pure dedication and determination.

BACKGROUND

Spoiler:

She is the youngest sibling of five, two being female. Her family belong to a small hamlet located on one of the high peaks of the Devil's Perch mountains of Cheliax western mountain range.

Well the name Devil's Perch is what the humans given to the strix's homeland mountains, due to fearing the strix so much and seeing the strix as devils. Her people did not take kindly to the human slowly invading their territory in the lower flatter areas, so fought fiercely to project at least the mountains of their homeland. Even though the strix homeland resides within human kingdom of Cheliax, the strix still fiercely control of their mountains for having the advantage of flight, with the humans making very little progress to claim the mountains outright.

The largest peak of the mountain range spine is the primary settlement of strix, the capital of the strix nation of few tribes, and where the strix ruler resides. One can see highest peak in the far distance, almost fading away from the hamlet of Galnikatix's tribe.

As she was growing up her parents observed her unarmed training between fellow strix of her tribe was resulting in more accidental blood being drawn, her finger nails becoming more talon like claws. Once the training was over her hands would appear normal. Her parents decided to consult with the hamlet shaman, and after much deliberation the shaman instructed her parents to take her to an elven druid that he knew of, who was residing in the Ravounel Forest.

Her parents did as requested, they found the druid where their shaman told them to search. The druid observed for a few days, before requesting that she stay with him to become a druid, as she showed affinity for nature and revered nature. Parents agreed and departed, wishing her to do well in her training and not to cause trouble for the druid. So her training to become a druid began, first learning the druid language and the life of a druid. During this period her claw like behaviour become more pronounced, making the druid realize she was more suited to being a shifter, fierce defenders of nature. He contacted other druids to locate a shifter within their circles who was available to train her as a shifter instead of being a druid. He took her to Echo Wood using druid means he knew of for safe travel.

Upon arrival she showed hatred to the human shifter, causing the elven druid to stay in Echo Wood until she had come to trust the human shifter as her friend and learn that not all humans are evil that have to be exterminated. There under the guidance of the human shifter she learnt to control her wild instincts and how to manage her the animal aspect of her favourite animal she came to like while living in Echo Wood.
