Kinna |
Having gathered up her scattered gear and hearing the fight in the next room, Kinna looks around the edge of the door. The strange looking woman steps out into the door, a gauntlet of purple and blue light appearing over her left hand and forearm as she does. She taps it a few times and a cone of eye-searing, clashing rainbow light erupts from her hand at the orcs.
OOC: If there are at least 2 orcs she can get with Color Spray without hitting PCs she'll cast it. If not I'll repost.
Kurgu |
Kurgu swings at the fleeing orc, aiming to pulp them!
Lucerne Hammer: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d12 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
Galnikatix |
Once the last orc falls she leans on scythe feeling sore from the blow the orc gave her.
We really can't go on like this. Taking serious beatings.
She straightens herself and begins searching the orc to see what useful items they may have.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Now I get a good roll....
M07K |
"Agreed," M07K says. "I will bind the orc that survived. Do we have a healer that can see to Mr. Kul'Theraka? I know little of such arts." Retrieving some rope from his pack, M07K binds the incapacitated orc and relieves him of weapons and pouches.
Kinna |
Kinna steps into the room and nods at M07K. "I can assist with healing, if you would allow me. My name is Kinna. I came here with Mister Baine to relight the Torch. I was captured by security robots but the orcs purchased me to bring to their master. I would very much like to accompany you if you are looking for Mister Baine or attempting to reignite the Torch."
Kinna |
The newcomer walks over to Kul'Theraka and kneels next to the half-orc. She takes something out of a belt pouch and slots it into a port on her left forearm, then types something into the keys of the glowing gauntlet hovering over her left hand. Tiny motes of light descend from her palm and settle into the wounded half-orc's body. It suddenly smells like ozone and burning flesh, but Kul'Theraka's wounds slowly begin to knit themselves closed.
Infernal Healing, Fast Healing 1 for 1 minute.
Kul'Theraka |
"Thanks," Kul says sitting up and then spots Kinna. "Another one?"He asks with incredulity as he then looks over at M07K and shakes his head. [b]"What's the situation? Anyone else hurt? Did you kill them all?"
He takes in the answers as he slowly rises to his feet. Then he surveys the room, not really having an opportunity to do so during the fight.
M07K |
M07K makes short work of securing the bespelled Orc, tying it's arms behind it's back with several loops going up the forearms. He looks up in time to see Kinna's unique healing being applied to Kul'Theraka. At this he stares, still as a statue. Inside his mind is anything but still. Flashes of memories flicker by as if he was spinning in place and trying to focus on the things flying by. He nearly topples over. "That...is technology. Magitech. Where did you find it?" he asks, hesitant and unsure.
Kul'Theraka |
"Doesn't look like the usual junk they were carrying. Probably something useful. I'd say keep it. As for the orc, kill it. It'll just try to find its friends and get us later. Kul says as he moves to inspect any exits.
Kurgu |
Kurgu replies:
"Sensible, Kul. I am willing to pulp this orc's head."
The tribal raises his hammer up, ready to do just that.
Kinna |
He nearly topples over. "That...is technology. Magitech. Where did you find it?" he asks, hesitant and unsure.
Kinna turns to look at M07K. "Find it?" She types something into the glowing gauntlet projected over her left forearm and the circuitry traced into her skin pulses with purple light. Four spots glow brighter than the others and drift away to orbit around her head. "I am Magitech. My circuitry is a conduit for magical energy. How do you know the term? Not many do."
Kinna |
Finding the strange looking card, she lifts it up into the air, Is this of any use or value?
"It is useful. It is like a key. If you find a slot next to a locked door or a keyboard that will not respond, slide that in and it may allow you access. Not all of them allow you access to every door, just like a regular key."
Galnikatix |
She turns her head to Kinna, listens to the explanation, and looks back at the card in her hand turning it over a few times before placing it into one of her belt pouch.
She lets out a sigh, when she hears the crushing blow on the orcs head. Must be necessary if Kul, who is half orc, believes it must be done for their safety, than just to leave the orc tied up. Maybe they were to haste in dispatching the orc, could have questioned it first as she thinks to herself.
She stands up and holds her scythe in her right hand as she waits for the others to finish up with their tasks.
M07K |
Kinna turns to look at M07K. "Find it?" She types something into the glowing gauntlet projected over her left forearm and the circuitry traced into her skin pulses with purple light. Four spots glow brighter than the others and drift away to orbit around her head. "I am Magitech. My circuitry is a conduit for magical energy. How do you know the term? Not many do."
"I...don't," M07K admits slowly. "I have lost many memories. I have been searching for things that unlock them. That thing you did revealed some." He then looks at the blank grey walls and odd lights in the ceiling. "This place, these halls, have revealed more than the last three years of wandering have. I got the sense this used to be my home. It is why I am here."

So the room you are in now is a lounge of sorts.
Cushioned chairs and metal tables are situated throughout this small room. To the north are several doors, while a few broken machines lie against the walls. Broken panels cover the ceiling, and mounds of what look like shattered glass have been pushed under the tables.
The key opens the door to a room with a sign over that door that reads.
"Robotics Lab"
You open the door.
This room buzzes and hums with the sound of machinery. A long track of moving leather-like material rotates along a metal framework in the middle of the room. The eastern end of this device is connected to a looming metal machine fitted with thrashing and twitching armatures and blinking lights. Panels on the wall flash with strange writing and images of metallic constructs. To the west, a second track of leather, this one smeared with blood, churns through an opening in the wall to a room beyond. The entire place has an air of entropy to it—with missing parts, flashing sparks, and periodic discordant sounds of metal scraping against metal revealing how damaged the room’s machinery is.
Kinna |
Can the PCs who read Androffan read the screens? Also, how recent does that blood look?
Kinna moves closer to the flashing panels, trying to understand the purpose of the machine.
Perception check, just in case: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Kn: Engineering to ID purpose and maybe how to use machine: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
DireMerc |
It looks like this rooms purposes was the production and maintenance of the various robots that operate inside this vessel.
The screens seems to show the current status of the robots that remain in the vessel most of them showing red for inactive/destroyed but a few dozen remain active.
Two spider droids come into the room and completely ignoring you are attempting to repair the damaged machinery.
Kul'Theraka |
Kul studies the nearest droid (1 round) until he has a decent idea of its basic weaknesses. Then he strolls over and casually but with as much power as he can must he brings his sword around and smashes it.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 212d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
Kinna |
Any chance that Kn:Engineering check can be used to control or shut down the robots the system here is monitoring?
Galnikatix |
She simply chuckles at Kul attacking the metal constructs without a second thought. She watches carefully to see if there is a retaliation attack from them. If they do she use her claws, instead of risk damaging her scythe.
Kurgu |
Kurgu will assist Kul in smashing the droid.
Attack, flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
M07K |
M07K enters the room last, constantly on the watch for attacks now that they know orcs are in the area and apparently out for blood. He considers the room, little spider droids, and Kul's annoyance with said spider droids impassionately. "It is a good thing stealth is not the objective of this mission."
K:Engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Do I also know what this stuff does?
DireMerc |
Actually yes you can.
Dc 25 knowledge engineering and the ability to read andoffran is needed.
Kinna is looking around and notices one panel that reads.
“WARNING: Robot Command Core Damaged—Reboot Required!”
Touching this screen is all that is required to authorise the reboot, which immediately causes all of the drones and collector robots to deactivate for 24 hours.
Kinna |
Go science!
Kinna steps away from the keyboard, nodding to herself. "The machines make themselves useful for once." She turns and smiles at the group. "Where shall we go next?"
DireMerc |
The next room over.
Navigation Control Room
A balcony runs around the edges of this domed chamber, the curved walls of which are covered in blinking lights and unidentifiable machinery. A few steps lead down from this balcony in the middle of the room. Just north of these steps sits a large machine with a pink glass tabletop-like surface above which float semitransparent images of some sort.
The balcony is wider on the south side of the stairs, where a strange statue stands that seems to have been cobbled together from broken machines into the shape of an upraised claw or talon. A mound of junk lies in a heap before the claw, while two smoking braziers burn softly to each side. To the east looms a pair of immense black metal doors framed by a rotating arch of pulsing red lights. That door leads to were the robot command core is located.
