Posting an updated version of my god.

This is what I have so far. Moranus, Man of the Mountain.

Home: Material Plane
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Gender: Male
Portfolio: Mountains, Arctic, Caves
Worshipers: Dwarves, Anyone who lives in mountain ranges, Anyone who lives in an arctic region
Domains: Loyalty, Solitude, Earth
Subdomains: Resolve, Metal, Ice
Favored Weapon: Great Axe
Symbol: Mountain with crossed Axes
Sacred Animal: Ram
Sacred Colors: Gray, White

Favors:
Dwarves
People who live in seclusion
People who live in arctic regions
People are loyal to a person/cause

Dislikes:
Betrayal
Deserts
Anyone who uses lies and deceit to gain power

When Moranus became a god, he became very fond of the earth. He found underground caves and mountains the most interesting. He also liked how to earth could not lie or betray someone, either they survived in nature because they knew how to survive or they died. Sometimes misfortune would fall on people, but they would not be cheated by the earth. He expects this from his followers, they must be loyal to others. To him the best way to attain this loyalty was to spend extended periods of time, in seclusion from others. When they would return to society they would treasure each person more and would be more loyal to them so they don't have to go through the loneliness they felt when they were in seclusion.

I think if you made it clear that ALL gods had to be

1: Single and discrete entity's
2: They came into being at the start of reality and not before unless agreed by GM and then Void only [Or 1st world if you game world has that kind of setting].
3: They are intricately linked to your games single plane of reality, they can be linked to have other plans yes, but other reality's no.
4: They can have or be form a linked plane but its history starts when your game world reality's do.
5: That a god can have overlap but it has one CORE Domain, Such as the Psionic god would have Psionic as its one single CORE domain, then others would over lap. It worship and out look, even mythos must be singular and revolved around that.
6: That no god can lay claim to fundamental building block of reality itself, like "Space" "Time" "Matter" "Energy" etc, sub forms of each yes. Time = Fate of living things, Energy = a single Elemental force [Fire say] but not ALL.

I think that would help to level the gods to something that will work with in the game world GM.

So just as a show, I will take the traveller as a starting point for the new play out. The 12 sisters of time are out, its a prime force of reality god wise a no-no.

Thank you GM Pandorica. I haven't been sure on quite how to phrase that, but what you said pretty much exemplifies what I'm looking for.

Some of the applications are already fine, but for those that may need to be reworked, I'll be extending the application deadline to Sunday night, although I won't be able to answer any questions after today.

Thanks DF1243
I was thinking how I would limit myself and so the brake down of limiting rules

The core idea is that Each god can have one Prime Domain and that is theirs alone as a prime.

2ed are just overlaps.

They then represent that Domain at their core.

Some Domains 3pp etc, like Time etc are at as they are just to powerful.

But all Paizo core Domains should be fine.

I may even come back and make a new god under my own rules hehe

I'm not going to limit everyone to having a primary domain vs secondaries, but if does help me to see what a god's real focus is, so I'll keep that optional.
The core domains are all fine, but I'd like any 3pp stuff run by me before it's included, just to be safe.

Ok now reapplying but using my own limiting rules

meant to add
Home location: The Last hall with in the nice layers of Hell.

The Nine layers of Hell has a vast Bureaucracy, layered and complicated souls doomed to the hells become officer fodder for this. Some ending up in the ranks of The hellish host, dome mail Devils running for ever delivering endless forms. The creative damnation department spends its time thinking up new ways to torment the dammed. Each soul sent to the Hells is profiled and catalogued for just the right grade and type of scouring and purgatory. A plan to wipe of all sin and crime, if it is found to be fundamentally sinful it is kept in hell, if how ever it is deemed clean it is sent on to another's domain. Not all souls go to hell, some have little or no taint of sin or Chaos they move on, some are used for necromancy and they stay with the living as undead, Things much hated by the Hells. In Hell the are vast halls of records listing all sins by the living and only the sins. Every lie, every cheating action, any crime broken. Listed and kept for the day of a souls entrance into the offices of Damnation. If a soul is NOT sent to hell its record is removed and erased.

Thank you so much to everyone who applied, recruitment is now closed. I'll look everything over and decide within the next couple of days.

So after putting in a lot of time since I've been back, I've made my decisions. Thank you so much to everyone who applied, I really appreciate the interest and I sincerely hope that those who aren't accepted into this game can find others that suit their interests.

That said, the accepted players are:
GM Pandorica-Na-Rizzer
Alfrazar-Moranus
OmniChaos-Aurus
TreasureFox-Geiyara
Remnant-Miolla
The Friendly Lich-Temeron

Once again, thank you all for your interest. For those accepted, I'll be setting up the discussion/gameplay threads shortly.

Cool posted with alt

I'm reopening this thread for new applicants. Unfortunately, we've lost two of our players, which means that we are looking for a couple of new gods. We're currently in the second Age, and you can feel free to look through our Gameplay thread to see what's occurred thus far. I'll be keeping recruitment open until we have decided on two players that will be joining us.

I am interested.
Can you give us a quick run-through of your current gods and their domains and what you're looking for?

Was looking to play my short lived RL DoW god, Kung Rama, a CN god based around the domains of Trickery, Liberation, Chaos and Community, but if a similar role is taken, I could easily switch the concept to Chaos, Madness, Strength and War, or come up with something new all together.

Silver Crusade

^ this, I have played this little thing before (twice) I would prefer to be a NE type god with undead as my people :3 however if someone has that alreaady..

Right now we have Aurus(CN), who's the god of thieves, Moranus(LN), god of mountains and everything associated with them, Geiyara(N), goddess of nature and Miolla(N) goddess of the moon.
Domains aren't that important, and can be dealt with later.

I am N not CN, don't call me chaotic just cause you can't figure me out. ;P

It is said that the first time a group of men men got together to attack other men, a red haired woman came to their leader, promising victory and glory if he gave her one tenth of all the prisoners they captured. He agreed to her bargain, and the victory was overwhelming and he was covered in glory. After the battle, he saw his new conquest and he did not want to throw a tenth of it away to please a woman who may or may not have contributed to his victory.

A red haired woman walked that night among the captives, promising victory and glory to any who would rally them against their captors, if they gave her one tenth of all the prisoners they captured. One agreed, and that night the prisoners attacked the guards. While their conquerors feasted and drank deep of their stolen wine, they armed themselves, and by dawn, the conquest had been reversed. The new victors did not hesitate to fulfill their part of the bargain, and so many prisoners were put to the sword that a lake of blood formed. Princess Slaughter stayed with them, and it is said that they formed the world's first empire.

Legend holds that the lake of blood remains, somewhere in the world, and veterans speak of the Red Lady. She comes to common footmen as often as kings, but her bargain is always the same. She is fickle in her favor, though, and she might raise a man from obscurity one day and toss him onto the blades of his enemies the next. Battle needs slain as well as slayers, and she loves both equally.

Few permanent temples exist to honor her, but many armies carry portable altars.

Mind if I throw in here? =)

We've got a bunch of Neutrals, and now two Evils, so I thought a Good aught to be called for.

I admit, once I started writing for this idea, I just couldn't stop. =)

Backstory put under spoiler for length.

Backstory:

Cyrynx was originally a poor serf who worked the dirt, only to see the majority of his harvest go to his Feudal lord, year after year. Though he had naught but a few simple steel tools to work with, the Collectors came by on shimmering hovertanks, the LasBlasters tracking his every move with artificial precision.

If a move of purest, richest irony, it was his inability to pay that lead him where he was now.

During the Year of Drought, he and many serfs like him could not grow enough greensprout to feed themselves, least of all pay taxes. They were all gathered by modified elecarts, and lead into the capital for re-mutualization and Voluntary Brain Theory.

On the 3 -day journey, Cyrnyx found himself thrown in with many men he had not known, for they lived some miles from his stead, a distance traveled easily by the Collectors, but insurmountable for himself.

Unmonitored by the jerry-rigged elecarts, the men first took to complaining about their lot, but, with the wisdom of crowds, soon found that they all desired a change to their society. This was the first time a group of more than a handful of person had the same idea, since group congregations were forbidden by the Motor Law.

Brought to the City Argelu in their millions, the peasants were further pressed together in massive domes, to await their training.

In the early stages, one of his Examiners was the Most High Righteous Lord Arminius, 15th of his name.

But Arminius was out of the Judicar's favor, and he and Cyrynx got to talking.

About change.

After Arminius signed for responsibility for the of the Re-mutualization of 1.5 million serfs from Cyrynx's region (a number considered well within his auto-Professors' capabilities) they were transported to his private estates...and began their training.

Leading the discussion, Cyrnyx found that he had a knack for getting men to listen to him. He simply found out what they -truly- wanted (which was mostly freedom and prosperity) and told them that they could have it, but they would need to work and fight for it.

Given unrestricted access to Lord Arminius' library, Cyrynx learned that the planetary ruler was Judircar Gax, who was not of this world, but had appeared via Real-Gate over 700 years ago, and had united the planet under his rule.

Fortunately, Gax had grown lazy in the past century, and, after gazing at the detailed Surveillance tapes that Arminius had access to, a weakness was found in his palatial defences.

A plan was formed, and, after 3 years of training (the allotted time for his Re-mutualization) the attack was launched using the weapons that Arminuis had stockpiled using the last of his Courtly influence.

The plan called for a large frontal attack on the main defences, while a small force infiltrated the servants' entrance.

The main attack needed to hold against both the Palatial Guard and the Mobile Response that would be sent, for at least 90 minutes for infiltration to succeed.

Casualties to the attack force from Void Cannon and Auto-tank would be 10,000 per minute.

Consigning a million men to die, Cyrynx launched the attack.

Not everything went to plan.

After sustaining 750,000 casualties, Cyrynx captured the Palatial grounds, and his men hunkered behind the 250-square mile defences, secured against the Mobile Response.

But Gax had locked himself inside a Void Box. The Warp-Gate entry to the box would only allow one man at a time, but entry meant death to a mortal. Death by pain.

Stealing himself to die, Cyrynx grasped the last remaining VoidBomb, set the CompGrip to go off as soon as his pulse stopped, and entered the Gate.

Every pain neuron in his body fired. At once.

Unbelievably, propelled by reserves of strength he didn't know he had, he walked through the Void Box's Distor-Field, and stood next to the massive, horned figure of Gax.

"Your death will be meaningless," rippled the voice of Gax through the Distor-Field.

"Let each man do what is best for himself," he spat back through clenched in agony. "And he shall do what is best for the group."

And then he died.

The physics of the Warp gate were never truly understood, just as the technology the went into the Void Bomb were simply handed down by Gax without the base of it ever being grasped, least of all fully known, by the scientists of Cyrynx's race.

So, too, the physiology to Gax was never studied at all. So what went on may never be fully confirmed by technology, but the results are unquestioned.

Outside the Gate, day turned to night, and after a full week, the High-Commander of the Mobile Response was allowed into the Palace to search for his ruler. Upon finding no trace of evidence that Gax still existed, he order a planetary stand-down order.

Unto which Most High Righteous Lord Arminius filled the vacuum of power (since he had moved into the Palace two days hence) and assumed his new role as Judicar.

Ten years later a...being stepped from the Warp Gate. He was as large as Gax, but there the similarity ended. Where Gax was covered in raw, red muscles laced with veins of lava, this being was encased in thick golden armor, shot through with bolts of blue lightening running across it's surface. Where Gax had gnarled horns, this being's head was encases in a full helm, platinum in color which radiated a light that calmed and healed all who came into it's aura.

The being marched with deliberate precision, unheeding of the calls to halt or the Voidguns fired at it, to the Judicar's Receiving Room, where Judicar Arminius was meting out another decision of justice which was based upon his noble whim, and little else.

"To what do I owe this honor?" asked Arminius, not rising.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE IN MY ABSENCE?" asked the being, it's voice ringing inside the head of all present.

"I have kept your rule as you would have done, my Lord Gax--"

"I AM NOT GAX."

The being removed his helmet, and there was Cyrynx, with skin that glowed with the light of knowledge and eyes that burned with a love of liberty.

"Cyrynx? Good of you to join us. You will find you...farm awaits your return. Now, leave us."

Cyrnyx remained unmoved.

"Your betters have bade you to take your leave. No amount of foppery shall make you more than a peasant. You have served your purpose of placing me on the throne. Now be gone or I shall forget how generous I am being."

Without another word Cyrnyx approached Most High Righteous Lord Arminius and put a massive gauntlet through his chest.

It took another decade to dismantle the planetary feudalism that had been entrenched for so long. But wherever Cyrynx marched, peasants took up arms and their imperial masters found themselves outmanoeuvred and outfought. Those nobles that refused to see reason were killed, but those who gave themselves to the cause left to their own devices.

In another decade the face of the planet had changed and would not be recognizable. The technology horded by a few was now intrinsic across the planet. Food was grown in massive abundance by robo-workers, and many of the so-called labor positions were run by the advanced AI that were formally only known to the military.

At the onset, many said the the abolishment of the sacred 1,765,403,912 pages of laws would result in anarchy, but Cyrynx merely said that people were good at heart, if you let them be.

At last the planet was a paradigm of an alchemy of freedom and profit. Cyrynx simply left, and travels now, helping other planets to resist monarchies and despots in every form, and to enhance the lives of all through mechanical means.

The submissions are looking great thus far!
Cyrynx, in your backstory you discuss some very advanced technology. Will Cyrynx be seeking that level of technology in this world, or is he willing to work with what's available to advance his goals?

Dark Archive

Cyrynx travels with two major goals: 1) Advance Freedom, and 2) Advance technology.
Of course he works with what is available, but he will always strive to advance it. But he's not a technophile, advancing technology at the cost of everything; that is insanity. He simply seeks to do the most good, for the most people.

(For instance, this may seem hard to imagine, but at some point, IRL, someone had to invent the 'wheelbarrow'. If your society is relatively low-tech, something that simple can prove an enormous labor-saving device with an almost immediate gain. So, stuff like that. Before you can give the people penicillin, they need a microscope, which needs lenses, which needs glass, which needs advanced smelting techniques, which needs steel, which needs mining, which needs bronze... :-)
Does that make sense? I hope so because I think I just confused myself! =)

It makes sense, I just wanted to make sure you weren't expecting that level of technology described in your backstory to be available in the game.

Yhev, The End Of All Things

Home: Material Plane (Dark Tapestry)
Alignment: Neutral
Gender: Male
Portfolio: The void, Knowledge, the end of all things in due time, fate, time and space.
Worshipers: Long-lived races, astronomers, scientists, scholars, adventurers.
Domains: Void, Knowledge, Darkness, Luck
Subdomains: Isolation, Aeon, Fate
Favored Weapon: Starknife, Whip
Symbol: a star with a massive all-seeing eye
Sacred Animal: Star Fish, Octopus and creatures with deformities.
Sacred Colors: black speckled with white dots to represent space.

Favors:
Those who seek to keep fate in line.
Those who seek timeless, true knowledge.
Beings who fight the undead.
Time keepers, historians.
Honesty.
Atheists and anti-theists.

Dislikes:
The undead, especially liches.
Those who cheat destiny.
Great deceivers.
Those who skew history.

I need to work on a cohesive background, but I would like for it to involve Temeron.
Ideally, Yhev would be a god of entropy, though not chaotic. He is the keeper of fate, the monitor of time and space. When it is time for something to end, it is his role to initiate it. He values timeliness and honors those who seek a true death, the solace in the endless silence of anti-life. The concept is that he is the key to non-existence. His worshippers typically look forward to not existing as opposed to going to another plane of existence. On their deathbed, they recite a prayer and offer him the knowledge they've gained in their life as sacrifice. His worshippers call this True Death or The Unbecoming .

Not sure if it's a clear concept. I'm on the fence with it myself, but I thought it would make for an interesting deity that would claim the atheists and nonbelievers.

Are there any domains that deal with time? Also, i feel that Yhev would very much be a lawful god, but entropy seems to be tied to chaos. Would there be another way of describing it as chaotic? I kind of see him as the stage manager at a stage show. One act goes on, when that act is done, get off the stage or there'll be some serious repercussions.

Either way, let me know what you think.

Echos-I don't believe that there are currently any domains tied to time, but you don't need to lay out domains just yet, so if you're accepted, then we'll figure that out. I like the way he switches from lawful to chaotic in concept. Would he ask his followers to worship only him, or would he be fine with other gods?

Dark Archive

I've been reading the gameplay thread, like you said, to get an idea of the flow, and it seems really great, with some especially nice RP.
But what's is the situation with the map? Is there a link to it, or...?

The link to the map is in the Campaign Info tab.

No, he doesn't ask that his followers worship him and only him, but he does ask that they pledge themselves to non-existence once it is time for their death. This could lead to lots of interesting cults, I feel.

Bit late to the party here, do I have a realistic chance to make something? I didnt see a date to end this new recruitment.

Hmmm, on second thought, while the dynamic of the gameplay intrigues me to no end, it seems to be moving along at a rather slow pace. Is this a cause of the nature of the game, or those participating? I check my games several times a day, so sitting around for days with nothing new isnt really something id look forward to :/

It's partially due to the nature of the game, which requires everyone to act before I move on to a new turn but it's likely probably due to the players as well in some part.

Ok then. I think im still interested, though if selecting is looming close im not sure if ill be able to get something done ill think is good enough.

When do you expect to make a choice?

Whenever our group makes a decision on who to accept. I apologize for the vagueness, but it really does depend on getting solid applications that the whole group is happy with, so we need to talk it out and decide from there. If you need a little time to come up with something good, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you so long as it's reasonable.

Gonna fix my concept up a bit

+Those found guilty of unauthorized ascendance (attempting godhood) are punished with True Death, and are utterly erased from existence.
+Demands knowledge from his followers. (Will most likely form a pathfinder society-esque order)

-Dropping the Entropy/Non-existence angle.

Hope this makes a bit more sense.

Thanks to everyone for their interest, we've chosen to accept Yhev and Shathe into our game. Would you two please introduce yourselves in the gameplay thread? I will create a post explaining your entrance and rolling your points.
