In -5293 AR, the Elves of Kyonin fled back to their home world through the Sovyrian Stone to escape the destruction of the Starstone. This is their story....
It seemed a day like any other in the land you know as home. If Auramesties and the Winter Council are correct though, that is all about to change. You stand in line waiting for your turn to go through the portal hurried with the others. You have taken everything you can carry in hopes of starting a new life.
”Come quickly now child. Do not fear, Sovyrian is the place of our ancestors.” The gatekeeper calls to you as you step forward and look back at your old home for the last time. You back and face the once silver faced gate of mystery, now pulsing with energy. You walk through and a flash of brilliant colors surround you. Purple streaks in a teal background. You are covered in a bright green glow as you zoom past stars. Your mind seems to leave your body and reality and dreams seem one. A moment that will last with you forever, but lasts only seconds.
Suddenly the light becomes white and intense and you can no longer look. You are kneeling on the ground coughing. Someone you can't see comes to your aid and removes you from the area so that others may come. Eventually your eyes adjust and you take it all in. You are in Sovyrian, the Ancestral home of your people, and it is everything you hoped it would be. The spires are magnificent, and the Lypenaia trees are the largest you have ever seen.
Your admiration for the beauty of El, the capital of Sovyrian, is short lived as you hear a harsh voice speaking in ancient Sylvan you can barely understand ”That one is ready. Send them forward to be checked.” Two Sovyrain guards grab you and pull you forward. A tall elf examines your face. You notice behind him elves are being categorized, based on criteria you are not sure of. Then it hits you, there was probably a reason why your people left Sovyrian...
Hello all, I am GM Gathrix as you might have guessed. I would like to run a game involving Elves going through this very unique experience depicted in the Pathfinder books. Below you will find the mechanics of what I am seeking, but outside of that I really would like a group of elf enthusiasts that would really enjoy this. If you like role playing, and let me clarify, if you like talking in character to other characters and making decisions based on who your character is rather than the abilities he/she possesses, than this is the game for you. There will be plenty of things to fight, and roll play will be involved, but this game will rely heavier on the choices you make then how well you roll. I will present this PbP purely in Theater of the mind, so no maps sorry. This is a new world and as such some things will be difficult. For example a basic Knowledge Nature Check will be DC 25. Ancient Sylvan will by spoken by the natives of Sovyrian. It is simular enough to Sylvan to understand it, but you will need to take that language to speak, read and write it. There will be some traits that help with that, but keep that in mind.
Winter Council Acolyte You trained with members of the Winter Council to be an envoy for the Azlanti. You are well versed in dealing with foreigners. +2 to diplomacy and linguistics and they are both always class skills. You are protected by the Winter Council, which means little to the Sovyrians, but among other Kyonins you receive +5 intimidation.
Sole Heir Your family were chosen to be stewards of Kyonin should your people return. They have placed all of their hope in retaining their family name in you. They give you the best equipment they can, though no magic may pass through the gate. You start the game with 500g in gear(same caveat applies, anything left over is reduced to 0). +2 Knowledge Nobility, this is always a class skill for you.
Ancestral LoreAncient Lorekeeper Class Only*See ARG You are an Ancient Lorekeeper in training and have some knowledge of Sovyrian. You reduce the DCs of Knowlege skills in Sovyrian by 5. You speak Lashunta and Ancient Sylvan.
Veteran of Barbarian Wars You have fought the savage human hoards that once ravaged the north of Kyonin and learned to wield Elven Weapons with efficiency. When wielding an elven weapon, you are +1 Initiative and +1 to hit. You can draw these weapons as a free action, even when surprised.
High Elf You are not sure why, but the Sovyrian natives consider you among their kin. You skip the initial screening with flying colors and are given a place to live among the spires. Your alternative racial traits will not be held against you during the screening and you start the game with 200 additional gold in Sovyrian currency. Sovyrian natives are indifferent to you (normally are unfriendly).
Native by NatureRangers/Druids only You feel very much at home on Sovyrian. The plants and animals speak to you in ways they never did on Kyonin. Reduce DCs of Knowledge Nature , Geography and Survival by 10.

Interested, thinking a druid. I am not terribly familiar with Sovyrian. Would it make sense for me to bring my animal companion with me, or would I have something native to Sovyrian? If the latter what options should I look at.
You can bring an animal companion, if you want to get one from Sovyrian I will come up with a list for you soon.
The campaign traits will stack with other traits.
I am not familiar with Inner Sea Races and I do not own that one, but if you provide me with details I can probably make it work out.

GM-Gathrix |

Animal Companions PRD For Sovyrian any dinosaur companion from that list would be appropriate.

Gilthanis |

My first thought was a fighter (two-handed archetype). Using a Elven Curveblade, with the trait of Veteran of Barbarian Ways.
I would be a straight-forward hack and slash in combat, but since I get 2 background skills, I can also be a very good non-combatant option too :)
Will get a build up at some point in the near future.
Also, how long is recruitment staying open?

Browman |

Cool, I think it would make more sense for him to have a Sovyrian animal companion.
Edit: seeing that T-rex is on that list my animal companion choice is made. Because T-rex.

Here is my submission! I wanted to go with a fighter that wants more than anything to protect his Elven brethren but would show no mercy to other foes. I'm hoping for political unrest in Soyvrian so his notion of what protecting his people is gets challenged.
Crunchwise he's pretty legit, I think. Some of the build is predicated on the assumption that you will allow Additional Traits (feat from the APG), and that the Kikko from Ultimate Equipment is available. If the Kikko is not available, no big deal, it basically means I won't start with a Longbow. If Additional Traits are not available my build will definitely shift a bit.

I looked at Kikko, and if it had an elven origin I would allow it, but it doesn't and due to the timeline I would really like some traditional elven things.
@Thewakally that sounds like a fine idea.

GM-Gathrix |

You can have the additional traits feat, but you can not select from lists you already chose from. So no two campaign traits and two social traits.
Additional Traits
You have more traits than normal.
Benefit: You gain two character traits of your choice (see Chapter 8). These traits must be chosen from different lists, and cannot be chosen from lists from which you have already selected a character trait. You must meet any additional qualifications for the character traits you choose. I am not always such a stickler, but that is some shenanigans I am going to put a quick halt to because I missed that caveat with another group and it caused some fairly powerful low level characters.* PRD
Lastly, I do not see languages known listed. Other than that it looks good. I appreciate that the backstory explains his pragmatism and low charisma.

I'm thinking about an Empiricist Investigator with the Winter Council Acolyte trait. She's trained to be a diplomatic operative. Not an ambassador, but the one who steals the incriminating letter that helps the ambassador get his way with someone. It's something that's usually a bard's role, but I like the idea of a harder edged, not quite so warm and fuzzy type of personality. I'd use traits to convert social skills from CHA to INT and maybe take the Envoy alternate racial trait. Weapon of choice is an Elven Branched Spear.
Does an Investigator sound out of theme with the campaign? Obviously a bard would work too and I could do that if it's a better fit.

Vesryn Tarathiel |

No problem re: Stickler! I didn't actually have the book in front of me so I forgot that part :p
Which is just fine, I will go ahead and re edit. I also don't have languages listed in the text but I wrote them down with his abilities on the left of the page (unless I edited wrong), I'll add them in at the top of his crunch though!

I'm going to submit Aodhan, an intended Mystic Theurge, just because I've always liked them and Elves are pretty good at them compared to most others. Since it's starting level 1, he's only a cleric right now, but will add Foresight Diviner at the first opportunity. Let me know if you have any problems or suggestions, and thanks for the consideration!
Aodhan has always been insatiably curious about everything. As a child he would always stay listening raptly to the stories of his elders, even as the others grew bored or distracted. As he grew older, this insatiable desire for knowledge and exploration made him a good fit for the clergy of Desna. He became a zealous acolyte, learning well and excelling far faster than the others in the church could hope or expect.
Yet even that bastion of freedom that is the church of Desna began to feel restrictive to Aodhan. He knew there was more than divine magic in the world, he'd seen many wizards among his elders with powers so strange and different. Aodhan, naturally, wanted to know more, and couldn't understand why so many around him saw a gulf between the two types of magic. Surely if both could exist in the same world, then both could likewise exist in the same person. He didn't shirk his resposibilities to the church of Desna, exactly, but began to coast by on the minimum effort so that he could begin to devote the majority of his attention to the pursuit of the arcane.
He proved an apt pupil for his arcane teachers, but then came the news of the impending disaster. It shook up all of Elven society, and his instructors suddenly had more important things to do than teach him. He took his mostly-empty beginning spellbook home with him, and continued to practice what he'd been taught even as he, and everyone else he knew, began to prepare for the evactuation.
The evacuation! The very thought of it fills him with excitement. As an avid traveler and seeker of knowledge, the opportunity to travel to another world and learn first-hand about the ancestral home of his people is almost too much to take in. The hardest part for Aodhan is deciding what to take with him as he goes -- a sentiment that often doesn't sit will with the others he interacts with regularly who see the coming catastrophy as a sort of death knell for their way of life. Alas, it isn't possible to learn everything, and other peoples' feelings are often too complicated to easily learn, even among the Elves.

Here is Roycilo's submission. He is starting as a wizard, and multiclassing straightaway into rogue. I'll be working on him off and on the next few days. He is a survivor, self-sufficient, and tries to prepare for anything.
Since we are going all elves, would you object to me taking Recharge Innate Magic as a spell known? It works well with the multiple spell-like abilities/self-sufficient vibe I'm going with. It's normally gnome only.

GM-Gathrix |

I am very interested in this campaign. Quick Question, how do you feel about Occult Adventures classes. If you are not interested in allowing them i understand, I was just thinking of playing a psychic.
Psychic things will open up as the game progresses as Sovyrian is one of the original psychic places of Pathfinder, however I would not allow you to start out as one lvl 1. If you do not mind multi classing I would allow it after lvl 1 as your powers awaken on the new planet.
@Ragaernir You can pick other or Green Philosophy as depicted in the ISWG for religion.
Those of you that made submissions since my last post, I am looking them over

Gilthanis |

GM-Gathrix |

As a note I am editing my submission since the rest of the elven pantheon of Golarion is described in a non-approved source...
There are a few Elven books I do not own that I would like to. What we might do is allow you to change beliefs without penalty as the Elven Pantheon is more popular on Sovyrian than Callistra and Desna. In fact looking at the Wiki most of the Patheon is from Sovyrian and are just saintly ancestors. This would add to the feeling of culture shock and further distance the two groups which is good in the beginning.
@ Raina where is that Sovyrian Intellectual trait from? I like it you can have it.

GM-Gathrix |

I have noticed the High Trait is popular ha, don't blame you being "screened" by ethnocentric Elves is a bit unnerving.
@The Pale King I have not had a barbarian or monk submission yet.
