Thank you for the invite DM RichD, I will be working on a healer of some sort. I believe that will round out the group, as fare as class anyway. Hopefully I will be able to spend some time flushing out the character this weekend. I would feel better if I was able to submit a character with a thought out background.

Question: Are we limited to only content in the Core Rule Book and Advanced Players Guide in all aspects of development, or are we only limited to Class / Races from those books?

I've gone outside those books for everything about my character (now that I think about it...) so I think it was a soft, rather than hard guideline... (at least Rii-Chi hopes it was!)

Yeah... I was ok'd for Vanara and Unchained Monk, but then I went and chose Dirty Fighting for my feat... it fitted what I want him to do brilliantly, but I'd forgotten about the book thing by then!

@Meloriel - in case your character hasn't guessed yet, if you offer to help brush Rii-Chi's hair he'll be your friend forever!

If I hadn't played with some of you before, or if you were not recommended, I would have been more strict, but since that is not the case, I am allowing it. I just don't want someone to bring in a character so overpowered that it is no fun for the rest of the party.

I can trade Dirty Fighting if you want - I just want to be able to do combat maneuvers and dirty fighting is a great way to be able to tr most of them without having to burn fifteen trillion feats first. :)

Just curious for spell selection and planning. Does Rii-Chi and Munk count as humanoids for spells such as enlarge person, reduce person, charm person, etc?

Does anyone ever want an enlarge person spell? Looking at hexes for debuffs and spell for buffs.

With the creation options a little more open, I put together a warpriest and would like to submit him for review. I should have the background, personality, and description complete soon and will add it in hopefully before we get to fare along. DM RichD if you are OK with this build, I will post in game play next.

Thanks Rii-Chi. I did not know what your race type was as I know aasimara and tieflings do not benefit from enlarge person as they are native outsiders. I didn't know if something like that was true for you as well.

Enlarge person is a go then. I am thinking that and cure light wounds for the time being.

Just posting a note on gear here:

Mischa's used to keeping all of her stuff on her, including armour, as Varisian wanderers like to wear their wealth, and she's come across her fair she of thieves (both friend and foe). However, she's not currently wearing her buckler (its inside the backpack she was wearing). Also, she would have left her bedroll in her bunk, since she uses it at bedtime. I adjusted my current AC so it's accurate, and removed my bedroll from my inventory.

Thorion would be wearing his armor. His weapon would have been set off to one side of the room, where he could have gotten to it if needed. After seeing the creature that is stowed aboard the ship, he wouldn't have moved around the ship without being protected. That being said, his weapon and pack is most likely 20' away. He didn't actually have those items on his person.

Hi all!

Just a note on how I run combat. Feel free to post an action even if it is not your turn in the initiative. I will summarize the action. That being said, if your action would change based on what some one else does (friend or foe) I will let you change it.

i.e. The cleric is last in the initiative but posts they are going to cast a searing light. The foe goes before the cleric and critically wounds a compatriot. I would let the cleric change to casting a healing spell instead of the searing light.

I like it better this way because you might have the time to post your action now, but not have the time when it is 'actually' your turn.

So Caine, Rii-Chi and Thorion post away! Everyone else who doesn't make their perception checks feel free to post your dreams. Well, not those dreams! :P

GM Before I craft my post, the Base camp rules state the most likely an NPC will fulfill the different roles. Do you want us to do that In Character or on the Discussion Thread?

So I was a bit confused as to where we were storywise. I thought I'd share my crib notes (done from my phone on my lunch break so please correct me if I am wrong)

Summary of Day 1

  • Explored Jenivere Recovered maps and supplies. Did anyone record what we took?
  • Set up base camp DC 12 - rolled 15 + 4 from aids = 17. Pass the DC by 7 so it took us 8-3 = 5 hours to set up base camp.

Roles filled:
Defender: A defender works to set traps, shore up a shelter's walls, and see to the safety of the campsite. The first time in a day that a wandering monster or hostile creature attacks the campsite, the defender’s traps inflict 2d6 points of damage—divide the damage done as equally as possible among all attackers. Each additional defender
assigned to a campsite increases this damage by 2d6.

Entertainer: Gelik

Guard: Aerys

Hunter: Sasha

Medic: Jask

Unassigned: Ishirou

Day 2

  • Ask Ishirou to be Defender
  • Decide who wants to explore and who wants to shore up Base Camp
  • Decide where to explore/what quests to prioritize.

I think that's accurate.
- I agree that someone who Ishirou likes should ask him to be defender.
- We should definitely go exploring.
- I kept track of the loot that Mischa held onto, but not the group loot. I don't see that anyone mentioned making a group loot list. But starting one would be a great idea. Volunteers?
