Mischa is a member of the Catanarri Clan, an extended family of Varisian caravaners who travel a route ranging all across the country. Often more interested in the beautiful sights they come across in nature than she is the actual act of travelling, Mischa often falls behind the group, spending time in particularly beautiful locations while the other continue on, eventually catching up with them further along the route astride her loyal mare, Daffodil.
One day, after spending far too much time exploring a hidden carvern filled with beautiful crystals, she returned to her caravan to learn that her younger sister, Bella, had gotten hooked on Zerk while passing through Magnimar. She fell in with a gang of Sczarni and never returned to the clan. Mischa’s younger brother, Jaster, set out to bring her back but was wounded by the gang. He managed to escape, but the caravan has been forced to move on without Bella. Devastated, and blaming herself—she was the oldest and should have kept both of her siblings safe—Mischa set out for Magnimar. Jaster begged her not to leave, but she went anyway, intent on bringing her little sister back home kicking and screaming if she had to.
Unfortunately, Bella told Mischa to bugger off and the Sczarni gang she took up with chased her off, threatening violence and worse. Knowing her beloved Daffodil would be a liability in the city, Mischa ordered her to return to the caravan and ran into the twisted alleys and slums, looking to lose the gang hot on her trail. She did, in time, but knowing she had few ways to get out of the city, Mischa hopped aboard a passenger ship named The Jenivere, paying her fare with the crystals she had picked up in the cavern and rode it south.
Knowing the Sczarni can have contacts everywhere, Mischa settled in for a long journey. She hopes to reunite with her family, in time, head back to Magnimar and save her sister from the trouble she had gotten herself into.
