Caine Battaglia was born and raised near Corentyn. While many of the locals lauded the region’s history of resisting Garundi invasion into Avistan, Caine was always more fascinated with the lands to the south - the stories of lost civilizations and beasts of amazing size and proportion and the daring attempt to establish a colony at Sargava.
When he came of age, Caine took an opportunity to hop on a ship, against his family’s wishes, and sail south into adventure, wealth, and the challenge of the hunt. It took a few years of backbreaking labor to disabuse him of the notion this was going to happen quickly. Dispirited, Caine has had to take on any number of unpleasant job, particularly for the exploitive Aspis Consortium. But when he had managed to get enough scratch together, he made his way to the Bloodcove docks and found a ship heading for Sargava and, perhaps, a step closer to his fortune.
Caine is a physically fit man, strong yet a bit rangey. There’s a bit of a haggardness to his appearance and more than a little wear and tear on his equipment. But his eyes remain sharp and and his reactions swift.
