Kalani moves forward behind Stevesie, and draws his morningstar.
"What could be behind door number 1" he says.
I can control Ulfgar/Bort for the time being. I'll mostly use him to shoot a bow/attack things.
Ulfgar and Bort move forward behind Stevesie as well.
The door leading into this tower is stuck and requires a DC 13 Strength.
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Stevesie does a quick look around to see what is stopping the door from opening.
Perception also for traps since we are stuck for right now. I included the +1 for traps. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Assuming that everything is dandy.
Stevesie attempts to muscle down the door.
Strength check Strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
After struggling for a few seconds, Stevesie embarrassingly asks for aid, "So uhh we've hit a bit of a snafu. The door is stuck and I can't get in. Anyone else like to give it a shot?"
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
"I'm not too strong myself ( 8 STR) . Ulfgar! Can you give the door a try?
Ulfgar grunts in response and tries to shove the door.
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Thick webs cover much of the ancient crates and barrels stored inside the base of the tower. A rickety wooden staircase ascends along one wall to reach an open trapdoor above.
I need perception rolls from everyone.
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 +1 for traps
Stevesie motions that he wants the group to remain as silent as possible.
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Kalani is ready for just about anything.
Ulfgar, It looks like on your character sheet its +7, but the macro build out is only using +5.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Rolling for Churdon:
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Ok, Kalani and Stevesie can act in the surprise round.
Stevesie Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Ulfgar Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Kalani Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Churdon Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
DM Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
"Ack! Spider! Kalani shouts.
He then attempts to hit it with his morningstar.
Morningstar: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Stevesie shouts, "I've got the beast in my sights!" Stevesie drops his short sword and draws his shortbow.
M Dwarf HP 20/20,- AC 17/T:14/FF: 13 - Perception +8 - F: +6/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +4 - CMD: 18, Speed: 20, Init. +5
Ulfgar shouts in surprise as the door breaks in and he's standing face to face with a giant spider. He quickly runs back behind the safety of his meat shields. Meanwhile, Bort jumps up to engage the spider.
I assume he had his weapons put away to bash down the door so Ulfgar moves and draws his bow
Bort Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ulfgar and Bort don't get to go yet because this is the surprise round and they failed their perception checks.
The spider attempts to bite Bort:
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
and fails.
Ok, now top of the init order for everyone.
Oh I didn't realize the spider moved during the surprise round.
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Ulfgar did you mean to reposition your characters? My map still has you next to the spider.
Stevesie takes aim at the spider and fires an arrow straight at it whilst whispering, "Why'd it have to be spiders? Why couldn't it be butterflies?"
Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
I moved him back because he didn't get to move. Only two people could act in the surprise round.
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
"Come on! We've got a tower to climb! Can't be sitting around whacking spiders all day!"
Kalani attempts to hit the spider again.
Morningstar: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Two 1's in a row? Game is rigged
Then, he takes a 5 ft step back to let Churdon potentially take a swing.
Now Ulfgar moves back and the spider gets an attack of opportunity.
AoO Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
The spider misses the AoO. Ulfgar can continue with his turn.
M Elf Magus/2 HP: 15/17 AC: 18
Churdon moves up on his turn and swings at the spider with his sword.
Longsword: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Stevesie mocks the spider, "You thought four eyes were bad? Try eight eyes."
Ok, we're going to assume that's all that Ulfgar did.
The party is unable to land a hit, apparently still shaken by the size of the arachnid. It attempts to sink it's glistening fangs into Bort:
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
And misses.
Round 2
M Dwarf HP 20/20,- AC 17/T:14/FF: 13 - Perception +8 - F: +6/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +4 - CMD: 18, Speed: 20, Init. +5

Stevesie concentrates fully on the task at hand. He draws an arrow from his quiver, notches the arrow and aims it directly at the beast.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
Kalani takes a 5 ft. step over to Bort and casts Resistance on the Tiger.
+1 to Saves for 1 min.
"I'm hoping this will prevent any poison from affecting your Tiger!"
Ulfgar fires his bow but it goes wide as he can't get a clear shot between Bort and the spider. Bort continues with feints and attacks, but is only able to make scratches in the spiders chitin when compared to Stevesie's shot that sinks deep into the abdomen. Kalani boosts Bort, just in time before the spider patiently waits for a precise attack.
bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Bort needs to make a fort save DC 14.
fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
Did you add the +1 from Resistance?
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3

M Elf Magus/2 HP: 15/17 AC: 18
Damage: 1d8 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + (3) + 1 = 11
Churdon decides to play connect-the-dots as his sword pierces an eye upon entering and exiting the spiders head. Glutinous ichor drips from the wound and blade as the spider falls forward, dead.
Combat Over
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Stevesie tries to find the missing arrow while congratulating Churdon, "There we go mate, literally killing it."
FindArrow: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Stevesie takes a quick look around the first floor of the tower before telling the group to advance upwards.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
While the supplies in most of the crates and barrels in this room have long since rotted away, one small crate contains a masterwork shortsword wrapped in oilcloth.
M Human HP 8/19, - AC 17/T: 14/FF: 13 - Perception +5 - F: +2/ R: +7/ W: +3 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 15, Speed: 30, Init. +4 Spells/day 1st 1/3
Stevesie can use. Wana roll for it if you want it? need: 1d100 ⇒ 44
Stevesie eyes the shortsword. It would look mighty nice in the hands of one handsome human.
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
"Nice find! We can definitely put it to good use, but not in my hands."
Not proficient with Short swords.

Alright, should we continue on to the North section of the main building?
The party steps through the north entrance and into a hallway. This long hallway ends with a ruined dwarven statue. Smashed long ago, the statue is barely recognizable as a dwarven monk. His stone hammer sits on the ground next to the shattered remains of his head.
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
"Aye, Let's check out the room directly north of us, and then we can make a clean sweep of the rest of the place. We don't want any more surprise spiders creeping up on us from behind" says Kalani.
To Ulfgar I'll take the lead so that you can fire your arrows from a safe distance.
Kalani opens the door to the northern room. Old cobweb-covered racks and armor stands dominate much of this small chamber. What must have once been a well-tended armory is now devoid of arms and armor.
Male Aasimar Shaman 2
Kalani enters the room, taking a look around to watch for any surprises.
