No problem going into that hole now. Just when there is a natural opportunity for a break it would be nice if you give us some time and ask if we're ready for the next encounter before sending the next NPC to move the story along.

Yorikata __ |

Did we get money, that we could go shopping with?
I'm mostly with my starting gear. Only the magical hopeknife from Brinya, a chain shirt, and a light xbow picked up somewhere along the way came to that.
But we could indeed use some stuff. Is there a pocket sized blaster caster on sale? :P
Some alchemist's fire and acid for example, in case they also brought trolls or something. As I only bought what the fox could carry I have some coin left, but the amount of money we get to spend is the main question for now.

Yorikata __ |

I'm waiting on buying good armor. Which costs 1100gp, like always for the rogue.
I'd go for alchemical goods, like alchemists fire, acid, liquid ice, bottled lightning. Are they available?

DM Raltus |

I think witches with the healing hex would be the greatest trauma nurses ever, for exactly the reasons you say. Imagine having 4 in a war camp. Almost any injury could be completely healed by 4d6 healing. Even a single one would stop someone from dying and put them on the road to recovery.

Lanneth |

That depends on the witch.
From Oz Glinda the good Witch of the South and the good Witch of the North (forget her name) were well liked.
The old Fairy tales have a number of references to good witches: Stega Nona from Italian Fame, Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, The good faeries from Sleeping Beauty... The list goes on.
So they don't have to be creepy.
I've been trying to play Lanneth as crotchety, and Gruff but basically good hearted. She's an Old woman who just wants to be left alone to her studies, (Get off my Lawn) and views herself living in a world of children. (Think your Grandma and you should get what I'm going for)
Normally she wouldn't reveal herself like this but only because she doesn't want people comming to her door constantly asking to heal this or that injury, but she's not going to stand by and watch a bunch of people die for no reason.

DM Raltus |

Lanneth |

By my count we still have 8 cure light potions and a cure Moderate one. So I'm guessing we can probably go without the wand for now unless you all want to save the potions.
What do you think.

Yorikata __ |

That is the price for taking an untypical party.
Kyra could channel it. Ezren could magic missile it. Meresil would stand around useless and Valeros would club it with some magic weapon blanche on his mace.
But it is still a pest. Proper procedure: Run away screaming into the next enemies and have the swarm gnaw on them.

Yorikata __ |

From kinetic Blade:
The kinetic blade’s shape is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect the damage dice, critical threat range, or critical multiplier of the kinetic blade, nor does it grant the kinetic blade any weapon special features.
...
The weapon deals the same damage type that your kinetic blast deals, and it interacts with Armor Class and spell resistance as normal for a blast of its type.
From kinetic blast:
Even the weakest kinetic blast involves a sizable mass of elemental matter or energy, so kinetic blasts always deal full damage to swarms of any size
I see nothing that supports the statement that it does piercing, slashing or bludgeoning, but it definitely deals full damage to swarms.

Lanneth |

I just realized I do...
Just so you know, DM Raltus, I think you are reading this wrong. This is not DR 5/Slashing. This is All Slashing and Pirecing weapons do half damage. Bludgeoning does full damage.
If you think about a swarm, you want a fly swatter, not a knife to kill a whole group of bugs coming at you.

DM Raltus |

I never said it did had DR/ slashing I was just refering to the text on the defensive abilities being stated as by passed by Slashing / Piercing. I guess you could look at as Bludgeoning does full dmg which I did think about.
Some of the text should just state.
Swarms take full dmg from Bludgeoning and half damage from S/P. That is clean and leaves no room for potential error.
@ Yorikata, I have never once looked into the Kinetist class. I should read up on them. Funny that what Gran't' put isn't the same as what you put. SO he does full dmg which is good since he did a large amount of dmg.

Gran't' |

Kinetic blade says it deals the damage type of your blast.
My blast is an earth blast.
Earth Blast
Source Occult Adventures pg. 15
Element earth; Type simple blast (Sp); Level —; Burn 0
Blast Type physical; Damage bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing
You shape earth into clumps or shards and send them flying at a foe.
So I can deal any type of weapon damage with my kinetic blade, because I can do any type of damage with my kinetic blast.

Gran't' |

It is one of the amazing things about the kinetecist.
I am suggesting a single level dip in kinetic knight to people quite a lot now.
1 level gives you con instead of int for combat feats, counts as combat expertise for feat pre-requisites, and gives you a weapon that you cannot be disarmed form. Only issue is that you don't get str to damage. But you get some very cool utility in exchange.

Lanneth |

All strength damage right, no physical damage?
So we can't heal it.... Correct?
I can healing hex anyone with HP damage, but I can't tell if Dain's damage line is current or not.

Lanneth |

Yes, next level I can address, but not now.
That would work with the priests if anyone isn't exhausted from all the healing the town needed. Not sure how harsh the module is on this.

Yorikata __ |

@Lanneth
I didn't even check the map before my post. But nothing hinders you to have followed in safe distance and not start with 100 feet distance.
Besides that, a good roll for a bow shot would also help.

Yorikata __ |

Yay! I'm gonna be a mum. Will it follow me around?
But rules wise it would have been perception vs. my stealth. Then rolling initiative. Everyone aware in order of initiative for surprise round, then everyone in order of initiative. Therefore the order would have stayed the same: Yorikata, Bird2, Yorikata, Bird2 or the other way around.
But you haven't told if I get an AoO, as the bird doesn't seem to have the grab special ability nor improved grapple.
