[LE] StoryTeller

it does not but if you ask Mr frodo he might cover it...

he is surprisingly a good hearted fellow after all

[LE] StoryTeller

you can discuss your loot up here btw....

Shadow Lodge

I figured we could get Reil to diplomacize it up and see if we can sell some of the armor/weapons from the hobgoblins. That way we don't have to cart everything around.

I'm guessing you eliminated the 'r', which is a racial slur.

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

Silvanius Diplomacy is not half bad, so if you guys want to, he will assist in trying to get the best trade possible on the loot.

No problemo!
Btw when night time comes around, I want to head over to the standing stones with the intent of sleeping under the stars and possibly talking to the druid if he's there.

[LE] StoryTeller

you will go to the Old one but this druid apparently does not sleep there in the evening.

[LE] StoryTeller

DM exp assistant: add a EL 2 Exp for the party.

[LE] StoryTeller

so who does what in the morning?

Hp 31/51 AC24 (FF22/T12); (+6 Spot, +4 Listen; +0 Init; Fort +10, Ref +2, Will +12)

Galdamor will go to see Serentien the "Sage"

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

Rufa will go shopping with Reill.

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

On the topic of shopping, what should we try to keep an eye out for besides selling the loot?

My thoughts were another CLW wand at least. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hp 31/51 AC24 (FF22/T12); (+6 Spot, +4 Listen; +0 Init; Fort +10, Ref +2, Will +12)

Another wand of lesser vigor will be good too (better than a CLW outside combat). Some potion (protection from evil, CLW...) or oil (bless weapon) and of course some 100 gold perl :P

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

I think you guys pretty got it covered :D

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

100gp pearls. My oh my how those shouldn't exist in a D&D world, what with all the identify spells using them.

Hp 31/51 AC24 (FF22/T12); (+6 Spot, +4 Listen; +0 Init; Fort +10, Ref +2, Will +12)

I know, It's like diamond dust in Pathfinder :P

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

Okay, story from the table.

My friends one game, they decided they were tired of paying for those pearls. So through a creative use of circumstance, spells, and knowledge rolls, and money, built a pearl farm. It was one of those situations where we had some back and forth discussion, looked up rules, spent like a session on it.

In the end, the agreement reached was simple. Identifies were free now if at the farm, but it spent most of the rest of the profits on overhead and employee salaries. Plus it gave a great storyhook, which sadly I never found a good opportunity to take advantage of.

HP: 16/16, Grit: 3/3, PP: 2/2, AC: 15, T: 14, FF: 11, Initiative: +4, Perception: +9 (+2 in dim light), Sense Motive: +7, Fort: +1, Ref: +6, Will: +5, CMB: +3, CMD: +17
Skills:
Craft: Alchemy +4, Handle Animal +5, Perception +9(11), Profession (Farmer) +7, Sense Motive +7, Slight of Hand +8
Paper Cartridge loaded (1-2 Misfire)

Huh, pearls? Never done 3.5 before, what are they? I figure a potion of CLW would not go amiss for me! Aside from that, I think Brian would advise saving most of it (well aside from getting some good drink from the brewery! Stuffs importiant!)
After waking up Brian will try and find Avarthel, not for anything serious, just light chat.

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

In previous editions of the game, identifying magical items required a 100gp pearl as a material component. I started with 2nd edition, and back then that didn't even identify the whole item. It was really easy to get something cursed and not even know it until it was too late.

They changed it in 3.0 and 3.5, so now all properties of a magic item requires 1 pearl. I can't recall the 3.0 differences off the top of my head though.

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

Silvanius has got about 100gold on him, barring any cash we may make from selling the loot.

I would vote for a want of CLW, and chip in for it of course - it seems our last combat we missed some healing during the fight.

[LE] StoryTeller

there are no wands of CLW for sell in town as per the inventory i did after you hit the different shops.

[LE] StoryTeller

you guys can tell me when you are done with your shopping and when you want to get on the road

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

Hmmmm, no wands at all.

So we are receiving 300gold on top for magic items - I think we are stuck eventually with the pearls.

So we need one pearl per item correct? Do we know if any of them are magical at all? I can't remember and the forums are acting on me :/

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

Based on the party loot there are two unidentified magical items, so we'd need two pearls plus whatever else we'd want in case of finding more loot.

Also if I prepare the identify spells today, that's two first level slots I'm out during adventuring today. So we might want to rest an extra day. I'm putting it to a group decision, so let me know. Identified, we may well be able to sell for some extra spending cash right now.

Gold wise I'm still carrying 512gp myself to help out with. So with the 300 and Sivanius's 100 puts us at 912. If anyone else has anything to put forward, let me know.

DM Greg, as far as the rest of the loot, is there any reasons why we cannot sell it for half? I've copied/pasted it below in case anyone wants to see anything and can't see the doc above (I know I can't at work).

Loot:
Composit longbow (str+1) 11

MW Longsword 11

MW Heavy Mace

MW Studded leather armor

Chain Mail armor 11

Potion of CLW (1d8+1) 10

Magic Banded Mail armor 1 1

Magic Short Sword 2 1

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

I think we should identify and try to sell the items - these may add to the party cash, making for additional items - since there are no wands available we could use some healing pots for sure.

{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

We do have the 10 from the ambush still, so that's some. But yea, anything they have may be a good idea to stock up on.

[LE] StoryTeller

You can indeed sell for 1/2 value. But remember merchants do not necessarily have lots of cash to buy everytime or everything.

For example the banded armor won't interest the smith nor anyone else in town as there is allready for sell.

HP: 16/16, Grit: 3/3, PP: 2/2, AC: 15, T: 14, FF: 11, Initiative: +4, Perception: +9 (+2 in dim light), Sense Motive: +7, Fort: +1, Ref: +6, Will: +5, CMB: +3, CMD: +17
Skills:
Craft: Alchemy +4, Handle Animal +5, Perception +9(11), Profession (Farmer) +7, Sense Motive +7, Slight of Hand +8
Paper Cartridge loaded (1-2 Misfire)

Wait, we got 10 potions? wowzers I missed that! I thought we had 1, well in that case mind if I take 2?
I also have roughly 450 gold so I would be willing to contribute 200 or so to the party funds, probably only 50 or so at the start but once it is decided that we are sticking together at least for a while Brian will gladly share more :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.
{HP 26/26 | AC16 T16 FF14 | F/R/W +4/+4/+4 | Spot -1 Listen -1 Inish +6}

Here's my suggestions at this point for loot, just to get a gameplan out there.

Composit longbow (str+1) 11 (SELL ALL) 200 x 11 = 2200 / 2 = 1100
MW Longsword 11 315 x 11 (SELL ALL) = 3465 / 2 = 1732.5
MW Heavy Mace (SELL ALL) 308 / 2 = 154
MW Studded leather armor (SELL ALL) 175 / 2 = 87.5
Chain Mail armor 11 (SELL ALL) 100 x 11 = 1100 / 2 = 550
Potion of CLW (1d8+1) 10 (KEEP) 2 to Brian, 8 to ???
Magic Banded Mail armor 1 (KEEP TO IDENTIFY)
Magic Short Sword 2 (KEEP TO IDENTIFY)

TOTAL to be sold = 3624gp

DM Greg, please let us know what limits we hit.

Stuff for sale:
Morlin's Smithy: +1 Battleaxe, +1 Longsword,+1 Heavy Shield, +1 Breastplate,+1 Chain shirt, 50 +1 arrows

Shrine of Pelor: Scrolls of Bless, CMW, CSW, Dispel Magic, Lesser Resto and Resist energy

Serentien the Wise: Scrolls of Dispel, Fireball, Invisibility, Fly, Mage Armor and Web. Potions of Cats grace, Invisibility and Fly. Bracer of Armor +1 Ring of Protection +2

Jarret's Sundries: 3 potion of CLW

Avarthel: Potion of Barkskin, CLW, Lesser Resto and neutralize potion.

-----
Winston is also offering 300gp in magical stuff to aid you on top of the cash.

-----
Serentien has no idea on the symbol.

As far as buying stuff. With the lack of wands, my personal opinion is we first take the party loot and just buy up all the Healing items available as party treasure, then divide loot. With the understanding if we split up, whoever wants to take it buys out the other shares (this wouldn't be Rufa's suggestion, but I'm sure someone would).

Scroll of CMW 150
Scroll of CSW 375
Scroll of Lesser Restoration 150
Potion of CLW x 4 200
Potion of Lesser Restoration 300
Potion of Neutralize Poison 750
TOTAL: 1925 + 300 from Winston = 1625

This would leave (if able to sell everything) 1999gp / 6 = 333GP each (with some change to divide later, imo)

Anything else people would want would be bought individually (which I see a few things).

Thoughts at this point?

[LE] StoryTeller

So far so good everything on that list is sold for the moment.

[LE] StoryTeller

just a reminder i will wait until you either tell me you are doing more stuff in drelin's ferry or on your way to the forest.

Male Male Human Init +1, AC 18,T 11, FF 17. HP 38/38. Saves F+6, R+2, W+8. (Spot +8, Listen +8, Survival +10)

Great work Rufa - thanks a lot for the compiled list :D

I agree to the purchases and have only additional rations to obtain at the Ferry. Silvanius is ready to go.

[LE] StoryTeller

That is my Trey for you :)

Hp 31/51 AC24 (FF22/T12); (+6 Spot, +4 Listen; +0 Init; Fort +10, Ref +2, Will +12)

I (and Galdamor too) agree with all of this.

Thanks for doing this Rufa :-)
