Leaving them here? Natalya will travel with you if you return her weapons

I still vote for the secret door.

Let's give Natalya back her weapons.

We can't leave Clarence here in this condition. If we're not bringing the others with us, then at least let's grab Clarence.

:) What does Relan consider the best path to take given Natalya doesn't have an arrangement with the mites?

In the unlikely event that we do not return, make your way up to the mites and ask for Brikbrack. If you tell him that you are with us, he should assist you in returning to the surface."

Natalya turns back to the group, "Fulmen wants the secret door, so unless anyone objects, let's go in that direction."

Natalya decides to stay and comfort Anastasia as the party moves on toward the secret door.

Passing through the door, the party quickly enters darkness as the turn the corner approaching the stairs, revealing their own light to continue on.

Perception DC18:
You notice recent booted tracks of a small individual. Braelex can tell you they definitely weren't there when she opened the door.

Sihedron Shrine

The room shines with a golden light emanating from crystals embedded in the domed ceiling. The entire dome is painted in reds and golds depicting the glory days of ancient Thassilon and remain as pristine as if the pigments were just laid. An altar shaped like a seven-pointed star sits in the center of the room—a smaller seven-pointed shape has been carved into the center of this larger block of stone. Sitting in one of the star’s arms is a shard of black metal.

As you approach, you see the shard of black metal float up in the air slightly and then disappear.

At nearly the same moment, a stir of motion catches your attention in the west and east portions of the room. Two monstrous spider-like creatures detach themselves from the walls and glance at the now-empty altar and turn towards you, a rumbling voice emanating from them both in unison as they skitter towards you.

Thasilonian:
"You agents of Karzoug, you have come to seize this place from our liege! You are to die!"

Relan fails to notice the small boot tracks, moving past them. But when the group enters the shrine Relan does see the shard float up and disappear. He does not understand the Thasilonian so ignores the speakers, confident that those in his party will talk for him, Instead he moves to where an invisible person would most likely be to pick up the shard and move through all likely hexes. He will either run into the culprit, provide from him, or run out of movement.

Since hostile actions are occurring, let's roll initiative. I'll post the spider's actions here since they will most likely go first, but can retcon if needed should one of you roll higher than them

The two spiders see Braelex tense and reach and rear back firing streams of web from their spinnerets on their abdomens striking Fulmen and entangling him. The web is coated in a toxin that starts to infiltrate his muscles (See spoiler below. I believe I missed Relan as well (touch but not flatfooted). Greed! Round 1

Shriezyx, Aidon, Braelex, Relan, Magister Khrysm, Vuloo, Caedimus, Amiculus, Andel

Aidon summons an eagle horde and they rip into the shriezyx. The spider's armor-like hide lets only a couple attacks get through.

Braelex lobs a bomb but the fluttering of eagles distracts her and she throws wide splashing them with fire, their feathers making an attractive target. The shriezyx screeches in obvious fear Relan stumbles forward fighting the webs and bumps into an invisible creature just north of the shrine. [ooc]No movement left for an attack

Braelex:
You confirm that the shard is right where you saw it disappear, but begins to move upward above and to the right of Relan's square

Aidon, each Eagle takes 7 fire damage make a reflex save DC16 for half. Braelex, you wrote 5 up top, but its min damage, so you should count the two ones from the dice as well

Vuloo extends a healing corridor to Relan and Andel begins to recite off the dangers of shriezyx. +1 hit/damage for everyone vs the shriezyx

The western shriezyx moves to intercept Relan biting out at him, but the webbed warrior gets his polearm around in time to deflect it. AoO?

The eastern shriezx rips into the remaining eagles with its poisoned fangs and claws. (It starts with an injured eagle and iterates attacks until its dead and then moves to the next. In the unlikely event that all the eagles are killed by the bomb above, it moves to attack Relan with the single bite, flanking him)

Aidon frowns and summons another large group of eagles (a convocation, if you will). This group is luckier and scores multiple hits, but the spider continues to fight.

Braelex throws again, alerting Relan to the fact the shard (and likely its carrier) has risen in the air. Her bomb hits something in the air and explodes, fire flying everywhere.

Relan's AoO above missed, but I didn't see an action for this round .... The spider is engaged with you, they didn't seem to react to your verbal challenge.

Above Relan and to the east, floating 10 feet in the air, another derro appears. This one different than the others. She appears as she points at Relan summoning arcane energy causing the warrior to feel drowsy. (Will Save DC 18 or fall asleep)

Vuloo holds his action and Andel fires an arrow at the newly appeared derro, but shoots wide.

Been traveling a lot. Finally back home. Here is my attack and save. And if you look at the AOO, someone Relan rolled a 1d1. So no wonder he rolled a 1. So I am re-rolling that AOO.

+1 Cold Iron Ranseur AOO : 1d20 - 2 + 10 ⇒ (14) - 2 + 10 = 222d4 + 13 ⇒ (1, 3) + 13 = 17

On his turn Relan 5' steps and attacks the spider again.

+1 Cold Iron Ranseur: 1d20 - 2 + 10 ⇒ (8) - 2 + 10 = 162d4 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18

Wow an 18 Save against a first level spell is rough. That implies a 24 caster stat, or a 22 with spell focus, right?. That gives Relan about a 1 in 4 chance of making it.

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

After attacking Relan succumbs to the spell, dropping his weapon and falling prone, seemingly asleep or worse.

Or it could be a higher level spell that has a similar effect ... Caster stat is high (but not impossibly high), but this is a BBEG, so all's fair. Straight out of the book as far as stats, I just modified actions for conditional events. You guys have been carving up the rest of the encounters, I'm sure you will do fine. Aidon "Flock of Ea-gulls" is tearing through hit points on some of these guys.

As a small reminder, Relan. I require saves to be the very first roll in the very next post or its an auto failure. Helps lessen worries about jerry meandering the preview function. Obviously you weren't doing that, but just wanted to place the reminder given you play in multiple games and specific rules can escape you easily

Relan s AoO strikes home, but his second strike glances off the armor. As he collapses, the spider pauses a moment to scan him quickly before heading south to Fulmen, missing him.

Hmm. Makes sense to do them in order. Since the AOO was first, then the attack and finally the save, that is how I did them. So by my way of thinking I did to the save as soon as it came up, no? To me anything else is, well out of order. That will sort itself out fine IF I can keep up. And yes, it had to do be a higher level effect I figured as it was cast in a standard action. Maybe a sleep hex or something.

Braelex lobs a bomb true this time and it explodes in the chest of the floating derro, but splashes artfully around the sleeping Relan. She screams in rage and pulls a long vial from her bandolier. Braelex recognizes the accouterments of an alchemist upon her just as she disappears again.

Vuloo extends a link to Fulmen ...

At Fulmen for action ... currently entangled and slowed

zzzzzz

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

"Oh no, you don't!" Braelex mutters, pulling another grenade from her belt and tossing it in the direction indicated by the shard.

Bomb (ranged touch): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27; Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 84; Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 6) + 5 = 16

Splash/precise as before.

"Wake up, Relan!"

Pretty sure magical sleep requires a standard action to wake someone

Aidon will send Amiculus to go shake Relan awake

Amiculus moves out past the Shriezyx to head for Relan drawing an AoO in the process.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29; HIT!
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 + DC 16 Fort Save or take 1d2 ⇒ 2strength damage.

The eidolon shakes Relan awake.

Fulmen lashes out with his quarterstaff as Andel fires an arrow into the melee both doing damage.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

The spider attacks back venting its rage on Fulmen and sending the druid crashing to the ground in a bleeding mess..

Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22: hit Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 + DC16 Fort Save or take 1d2 ⇒ 1 strength damage
Claw vs Fulmen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22: hit damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Claw vs Fulmen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11: miss
Claw vs Fulmen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19:hitdamage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Claw vs Fulmen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19: hitdamage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

The second spider attacks the remaining eagle killing it.
Bite vs Eagle: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 hit Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 + DC16 Fort Save or take 1d2 ⇒ 2 strength damage
Claw vs Fulmen: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16: hitdamage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Andel Crit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Braelez throws a bomb through the air and her aim is true, the fire exploding seemingly for no reason but a correslonding grunt of pain accentuates the point.

The spider below hisses and cringed as the bomb bursts over head

Greed Round 4

Amiculus Fort Save - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Assuming I see where Braelex has been hitting, I will cast Glitterdust as close to that area as I can.

Glitterdust - DC 16 Will save or be blinded either way should be visible.

If Relan can stand without provoking he does so. Depending on what the glitterdust shows he may pull a weapon and 5' step, or pick up his weapon on the ground and 5' step. Either way he is not likely to attack this round. And someone remind me to get a weapon cord later… Wait he has a weapon cord, so he can 5' and attack IF an enemy is close enough. He would rather go for a Derro than a spider so I will wait.

Relan will be close enough to see and attack the derro floating in the air

Standing from prone Relan uses the cord attached to his weapon to retrieve it. Seeing the Derro in the air he stabs at the creature shouting to the spiders that the dark dwarves are the enemy not him and his friends.

+1 Cold Iron Ranseur power attack: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 - 2 = 232d4 + 7 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 + 6 = 16 Includes -2 for still being webbed.
