Round 4

Vuloo will cast his last hold person on the now visible derro.

Caster Level Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Aidons glitterdust explodes in the air highlighting the floating derro. She closes her eyes just in time to avoid being blinded then flinches away as Relans strike bangs off her magical arcane shield just preventing her from harm.

Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

She shouts in anger floating higher in the air, stopping at the vaulted ceiling 15 feet up. Relan gains an AoO

Undercommon:
[b]"Leave me be! Why are you here?!

She then flashes her hand and an explosion of sonic force hits Braelex and radiates outward.

Braelex And anyone within 10feet of her take 1d8 ⇒ 1 damage and must make a DC17 Fort Save or be stunned 1 round

Vuloo casts a paralyzing spell, pushing hard through the derro's innate resistance and freezing her mid scream.

Will post shriezyx actions shortly once I can view the map. They will make a Perception check to notice the shard and then move to attack the nearest assailant

You may post actions or wait for resolution of the enemies tonight

Greed! Round 4

Braelex, Aidon, Relan, Magister Khrysm, Vuloo, Amiculus, Fulmen, Andel, Caedimus, Shriezyx

Amiculus moves in next one of the spiders and swings away, missing badly.

Andel doesn't see the derro behind him so fires again at the spider skipping an arrow off it's armored shell.

The derro fires a crossbow bolt at Vuloo out of a repeating crossbow, but still misses the stunned oracle.

The eastern shriezyx spies the shard in the belt of the magister derro and a throaty growl comes from its maw as it climbs the wall and heads across the ceiling to get close to her.

The other shriezyx turns on Amiculus, tearing into the eidolon

Round 4

Braelex hits the paralyzed magister with yet another bomb, the splash damage hitting the spider causing it to skitter and skreech as it catches fire and turns to a crips falling from the ceiling and hitting the ground in an explosion of charred insect

Relan, still covered in webs steps back and disarms the dero of the shard he is holding. If he can disarm the item into the square between them he will use his move action to pick it up.

Disarm: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 - 2 = 20 -2 is for the webs. I have forgotten if we have any buffs?

Derro is out of reach now ... 15 feet up. Shard is in her belt. You have haste iirc

5' in size and 10' reach. Cant I reach 15'? If the shard is un-disarmable then he will attack. If he cannot reach he will try to shrug webs.

If he can reach:

Damage for roll above: 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (4, 3) + 13 = 20

If he cannot:

No problem with the call, but I was thinking squares. The issue is the reference point I think. The enemy is 15' above me, not 15' off the ground (because I can reach 10' above me, which is two squares away, right? Sounds like 20' up to me.

Greed! Round 5

Braelex, Aidon, Relan, Magister Khrysm, Vuloo, Amiculus, Fulmen, Andel, Caedimus, Shriezyx

Aidon had a chance to post and didn't so I'll assume he has no action this round. Not sure if Amiculus is standing after the damage either

Relan bursts free of the webs as the magister pulls her self along 10 feet to the south and then throws a bomb down on the party, screaming to them as she does so,

Andel Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Vuloo would've been stunned last round and unable to cast his spell ... I assume he casts it this round and she is now paralyzed

Andel turns and strums a chord, blowing a cone of shards at the sneaking derro.

Braelex throws another on target bomb, crushing the vulnerable derro who can no longer leap out of the way. Fire rains all down around her companions but missed them all. Near her, Aidon, keeps his connection to the home plane of celestial eagles alive and summons more that eagerly and immediately attack the spider scoring a couple blows. Relan, grumbling stalks over and follows up with a vicious stab to the creature's abdomen, causing it to screech and wheel about.

Vuloo moves into a defensive posture. (technically, fighting defensively is a standard action where you actually attack)

Fulmen bleeds out (at -6)

Andel and the derro go into hand-to-hand combat but not before Andel gets off another chord of shards. The derro gouges Andel deeply with vicious telling blows from his poisoned blade.

The spider steps inside Relan's guard and true to his form, continues to carve through the party causing serious damage to the warrior from several blows.

Greed! Round 7

Braelex, Aidon, Relan, Magister Khrysm, Vuloo, Fulmen, Andel, Caedimus

Braelex curses as she misfires her crossbow, Aidon wincing as he summons yet more companions, the stress of maintaining his connection wearing on him.

The floor explodes next to the spider and a chunk of flagstone arcs out and smashes the spider causing it to stumble as the elemental roars to life. Relan ends its life, pinning it to the floor with his ranseur.

The floating derro finds her willpower to move and pulls herself along the ceiling until she's above the door. She looks down, noticing the glitterdust is expiring and smiles, swallowing a vial of something and disappears.

Vuloo ... do you want to heal Fulmen or yourself? Fulmen and Relan both heal 5 hit points this round and you take 10, unless you drop lifelink

Wounded and breathing hard Relan approaches the shard they fought so hard to win. He removes a cracked pale blue rhomboid ioun stone from his way finder and without touching the shard drops the stone onto the empty slot. Assuming the stone stays in place he will pick up the shard.

The stone wavers a bit, but then affixes to the shard. The shard doesn't completely absorb the stone as the Shard of Pride did, and the cracks are still visible in the black adamantine, mirroring where the cracks in the ioun stone are.

Relan picks up the Shard ...

Relan and the Shard of Greed:

Avarice washes through your body .. almost crushing any charitable nature you have. You immediately have the desire to possess wealth and the trappings of wealth. You find yourself appraising and assessing what you're wearing and finding yourself lacking, you are embarrassed and somewhat ill. ( You gain the sickened condition. Find and wear 500gp/level worth of jewelry to overcome this part of the curse ... not magical value, just material value).

You also are loathe to part with anything you own, and knowing that if you did so, it would cause you severe mental anguish ... until you feel something slide in over this though and mask it as if it is no longer yours. (The ioun stone suppresses this part of the curse, you can sell or part with things without harm ... however, you still need to maintain the 500gp/level in jewelry above)

You find yourself able to perceive time quicker. As long as you possess the shard you gain a +2 insight bonus to transumation spell saves, a +1 insight bonus on attack rolls and the ability to use haste as a spell-like ability 1/day.

Relan almost visibly reels as he picks up the stone and immediately assesses his dress and appearance. His face pales and he turns a shade of red in apparent embarrassment in his personal attire. I seem to have not properly regarded my wardrobe and have only now seen that this is true. he says to no one and everyone. I should dress as more befitting my station, and will in the future. he says, now talking to himself.

His wounds are mostly healed Relan busies himself with the loot. [b]He holds up the magical headband appraising it for a moment before adding it to the general loot. Is there a jewelry value to the headband?

Are all the weapons are armor small? We took out two dero, correct? Are there weapons and armor only for one? And lastly, I am unfamiliar with transumation spells? Should that be transmutation?

The headband is fairly plain, but masterfully crafted. Worth 100gp in that regard. Two derro in this fight, the second wore regular small leather. Didn't list that. You've killed 4 derro total, though.

EDIT: Ah, also the aklys, crossbow and short sword are all small sized. My miss

Transmutation is a school of magic focused on changing things. Polymorph, telekinesis, flesh to stone, slow and spells of that ilk. Also the school associated with greed

EDIT: reread your post. Yes, that was a typo or an auto correct mistake.

Thanks. I got it.

Also Relan, I assume you know, but just to be clear ... you still gain the bonus from the ioun stone as well

I was not sure. Thanks! Anyone have any jewelry Relan can wear? :)

Braelex eyes Relan skeptically, giving the shard a meaningful glance. "We now have two. Sheila said they would guide us to a third."

I'll do a quick recap of the few remaining rooms in the derro complex, glossing over the minor guardians remaining ... anything specific you want to look/do in any of the areas of the Crow? No need to stop role playing, just letting you know that I'll give you the crunch this evening

Andel is furiously drawing and taking notes as he walks around the star shaped pedestal in the middle of the room.

"Fascinating ... simply amazing. Vuloo, come look at this. I think this may be an attempt by Azlanist to capture all the benefits of all the shards. I wonder what the Runelords' relationships were really like in those final days if she was developing something like this."

Khrysm's Laboratory

This large room is set up as a crude alchemical lab—planks laid over barrels and crates serve as tables, but the alchemical gear set up on these crude tables appears to be quite high quality.

The equipment on the table constitutes a masterwork alchemist’s lab.

In the back is what appears to be the derro magister's personal chambers—in addition to a large mound of cushions and blankets, she keeps her supply of a bluish substance in vials (3 doses). Also here are several bags of coins. In all, this area contains 232 gp, 1,423 sp, 2,100 cp, a magical lens, a magical scarab, and a wand of spiritual weapon (11 charges).

[Atlatia's Dungeon

You explored this before but I forgot the loot ..

There are several mind-altering substances in a chest near the bed. Within are 3 doses of id moss, 2 doses of striped toadstool, 10 doses of flayleaf, 8 doses of pesh, an elixir of love, and an elixir of truth.

Portioque’s Laboratory
The corridor splits and ends in two equally sized square rooms—a bedroom to the northeast and some sort of abattoir to the southwest.

To reach the lab, you fight your way past a group of darkmantle, hooded octopus-like creatures that drop down from the ceiling.

The derro's injection spear, you picked up earlier, it's loaded with some sort of moldy extract. His lab contains equipment primarily for distilling the inherent qualities of bodily fluids. A strange device, that looks like a fanged box with a crank sits amid the components along with 7 more vials of whatever is in the injection spear.

Injection Spear:

This exotic two-handed weapon allows the user to inject targets with liquid on a hit. The spear’s reservoir can hold up to 5 doses of a single fluid—a single dose is automatically injected when the spear hits a target. A non-proficient user can wield an injection spear as a standard spear but cannot trigger the injection. An injection spear is otherwise identical to a normal spear, save that it cannot be thrown, weighs 8 pounds, cannot be used to brace, and costs 60 gp.

Caedimus’s Laboratory
This twenty-foot-square domed chamber contains a jury-rigged pair of low operating tables, complete with leather straps at both ends to hold the patients down.

You put down a carrion golem to get to the room, a horrible construct of medium size made of rotting carcasses.

Not much treasure here other than surgical tools which if sold would go for 200gp.

Spiral Staircase

This staircase spirals down into the rock before it opens up in the top of a massive cavern of blackness. The echo and a dropped rock let you know that the stairs end 100s of feet above the ground. Looks like this may have been how the derro got up here from the Darklands given the magister's ability to levitate ....

The party gathers up their loot, the Shard of Greed and drags Andel away from the Sihedron Shrine. Ensuring all the prisoners are free on the way out, the successful Pathfinders slowly and seriously climb and then descend out of the Crow and row back to shore.

Not sure what time it is ... probably late.

As dusk sets, you arrive back at Heidmarch manor and have to wait for a while as Sheila and Canayven are off at a dinner party. You wash up, relax and try not to look at Relan askance, given this is now the second time he's entered this domicile under the curse of a Shard of Power.

Sheila returns and immediately rushes in to greet you, resplendent in a fabulous blue gown and bedecked in an array of fine jewelry.
