The party opens the door and finds another airlock. Meyanda opts to stay out and the party moves in, although Oskar has to squeeze. Closing the door behind you, you glance in the glass window into the interior room. In the mean time, you hear a hiss of gas and magic washes over you, cleaning off shreds of dirt, blood, and sweat.

The room inside is crammed with hundreds of metal cages and boxes strewn about haphazardly. Much of the metal in this room is twisted and gnawed, and the remains of several dismantled metal automatons lie in pieces on the floor.

There is a hole in the wall to the north.

In the middle of the pile of metal a small eight legged feline with rippling muscles under a coat of golden fur is chewing on the body of a recently destroyed robot, eating and consuming the metal wires inside.

Razorend starts his Formless Dance. As soon as the door starts to crack open, Razorend pops out of the airlock and into the room behind the beast. He slashes but keeps a defensive stance.

Animal Research Surprise Round

Razorend flashes into the room slashing and freezing the creature as Urgeon pelts it with magic missiles and Oskar, who doesn't have line of sight to fire moves into the room.

Ridic's spell goes off but it slithers away into the ether, and the druid realizes that the spell wasn't resisted, there were just no actual animals to grab.

The small bobcat sized creature whirls on Razorned, moving so fast it seems like golden tornado of teeth and claws. Latching on with its teeth and four sets of legs, it claws away with the others, holding the android in place with sheer ferocity and surprising weight

Urgeon shoots at the creature but misses wide prior to its assault on Razorend, but it still viciously attacks the android. Razorend teleports out of its grasp, carves a vicious strike along its back and then flickers away

Oskar fires twice with the ?laser rifle? hitting once but the fiery blast seems to be absorbed by the creature's resilient hide, causing no damage. his musket piercing the creature's hide with a well placed shot.

You said rifle, but the damage is based on a musket, so I'm assuming that's what you used?

Ridic casts a spell but the onery little creature ignores it.

The vicious little canine rushes Oskar leaping up and biting the dwarf with a savage viciousness and latches on to the gunslinger's shoulder.

Razorend continues his assault on the little ball of mean, taking the opportunity while it is grappled with Oskar to carve three vicious freezing slices into the creature. It squirms and roars and its thick muscle absorbs a lot of pain from these devastating blows. So much so that Razorend is surprised the creature is still conscious.

Ridic attempts to help, but can't get his scythe into position to harm the creature. Urgeon hits it with a ray slowing it down just a touch as the magi capitalizes on the blood loss.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31; fatigued

With a ferocity and tenacity that would make a honey badger seem timid, the creature locks into Oskar, forcing him into an awkward position and rends him with its 4 inside claws spinning and raging through the dwarf like it's digging up a lost treasure.

A quick search reveals nothing of value in the room other than half-eaten metal robots. The vicious little creature appeared to chew a hole through the northern door that connects to a the large hole in the atrium (also apparently chewed through by the beast). Stairs go down to the room where you found the second nanite cocoon.

Up the staris, a wide, curved hall ends in a metal hatch to the northwest. A large slate board covered with neat lettering hangs on the east wall. A flight of stairs to the east leads up, while another flight to the south leads down. The door to the southern stairwell appears to have been burrowed or chewed through.

Urgeon rubs his chin as he examines the slate board. "It's a list of the functions of each of the labs. This may help us deal with the contents."

He transcribes the slate board into his notes and then follows Ridic and the others.


Creature is an animal. Doesn't have anything on it

Wasn't clear earlier, I see. You came up the stairs through the hole burrowed into the door into the room where your tokens are on the 5th floor. Given you can go upstairs or check this door, I assume you're checking this door. And I think Razorend wants some healing.
