The android slips into the shadows and disappears almost completely to even those watching him directly. He glides up the stairs silently.

Razorend:

Opened up the 4th floor for you to see, to the right of the third floor

You creep up and are immediately taken by the increase in the intensity of the acrid scent causing your eyes to water and you have to choke down a cough. A wide balcony overlooks a spacious atrium here, its low iron railing wrought with geometric symbols. A window high on the west wall is protected by narrow metal slats. Three doors stand in the east wall, but only the central door remains intact, with a short message written above it. The northern door has a hole burrowed through it about 3 feet in diameter, while the southern one has been completely smashed apart. A couple of the doors are labeled like below. Moving about the room are two massive avian creatures. The bird-like beasts are mostly head, lunging forward on four scaly legs. Wisps of noxious black vapor trail from their hooked beaks. They do not notice you and appear to be rooting around for food

Razorend assesses the creatures and then moves back down to tell the others. "Two massive birds, like... hideous mutated huge heads with four legs. Black vapor spews from their beaks."

As Urgeon rolls out of the first room declaring it empty, the others look in and frown as you all spot another nanite cocoon in the corner of the room, easily visible from the door. (Str check to remove)

Ridic moves over to the next door and opens it. It is like all the other doors in the tower so far (Which I've failed to describe until now). An oblong metal object with rounded corners, the door is opened by spinning a huge iron wheel in the middle of the door. Ridic spins this one and breaks a bit of rust off, creating a cracking metal sound. A querulous squawk comes out from above the hole and the party hears heavy footsteps with clacking claws moving to and down the stairs.

Looking into the hall beyond, Ridic spies another door at the end of the hallway like the previous ones with one minor exception. This one has a small oval window right about eye level.

You have one round to act before initiative. So actions and initiative rolls, please.]

Fowl Stench Round 1

Init: Oskar, Razorend, Kovax, Birds Urgeon, Ridic

The party readies itself as the avian-like creatures appear single file down the stairs. The creatures are essentially massive bird heads perched on four scaly legs. Their eyes blaze with red lights as they squawk koudly upon seeing you. The first one hits the greased stairs and skitters for a moment, but moves with amazing alacrity, albeit it slowed significantly. Urgeon catches it in the face with a fiery ray but the fire washes over the creature harmlessly. (Spell pen checks from here on out, please)

Acro: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Acro: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Spell Pen: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

The first creature gets close to Kovax who attempts to skewer it in a rage with his chain stabbing deep into the creature.

To hit Rage: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

The bird arrives and exhales a cloud of noxious black smoke that radiates all around it washing over Oskar, Razorend and Kovax. The acrid smoke begins to melt and rot your flesh and the fumes from your own body distintegrating in front of you wreck your mind. (You each take 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 damage and must make a DC17 Fort Save or be confused. This is a poison effect)

The second bird enters the grease and slips, crashing to the ground.

At party. Don't forget the saves.

Razorend shakes off the befuddling gas, steps out of his corner and strikes. His kukri flashes between dimensions, slicing deep into the bird-thing's flesh.

... from stealth, denied Dex bonus, and strike ignores armor bonus to AC.

After attacking, Razorend adjusts his stance, taking up the Formless Dance.

Yes, it's required. Each spell tells you. If you look under burning gaze here, you will see the part that says Spell Resistance: Yes. That means that spell resistance applies to this spell

Fowl Stench Round 2

Init: Oskar, Ridic, Urgeon, Razorend, Kovax, Birds

For everyone, Knowledge Planes to identify, sorry I didn't mention that beyond Razorend before

Oskar holds his breath, moves and fires punching a huge hole in the side of the bird that spurts black blood.

Ridic casts a spell that the creature sluffs off with its innate magic resistance. The same happens with Urgeon's wand ray.

Razorend moves in for some physical assault and while not the best strike, the surprise allow him to carve right through the bird ... a follow up shot from Kovax splits the beak and a piece of shrapnel enters its throat. It is literally on its last legs.

In a desperate panic it bites at Razorend and claws out wildly

Bite: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 2 = 19; miss
Claw: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 2 = 24; HIT!; Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The initial cloud melts into the ground and the second creature stands and then makes its way across the grease provoking an opportune attack from Kovax.

Razorend finishes off the first bird and then twirls to the second cutting it grievously. The bird then goes down in explosion of black blood and feathers as it is met with bullets, force and steel.

Urgeon again removes the nanites from the cocoon.

He then opens the Lab #3 door.


Remove the cocoon from the wall like last time or are you opening the cocoon ... may want to read the notes before you do that. Strength that check required to pull it off the wall.

Urgeon opens the door to Lab 3 and finds a similar 10x5 room with a door at the other end with small oval window at eye level.
