Kragnor grunts softly as he notes the door. At Senja's suggestion, Kragnor rolls his eyes, then checks the door for traps, before trying to open it.

After how well things went with traps on the last level, Kali happily lets Kragnor take point on the trap detection detail. If he needs assistance disarming, she will assist them.

The concealed door is neither locked nor trapped.
Revealed on the other side is an apparent armory. Weapon racks (10 short swords, 12 daggers, four light crossbows, three composite short bows w/+2 STR rating) and wooden wardrobes line the walls of the room, and the dummies in the center of the room wear suits of armor (2 leather, 3 padded). The wardrobes contain 15 blood-red hooded robes. Near the door, a dozen masks hang from pegs on the wall. Each mask consists of a brass nosepiece with cheek guards, and a veil of red silk hangs from the nosepiece. It looks as though it would cover the wearer's mouth and hang below their chin (though it would not be long enough to cover all of Kragnor's beard).

Kali follows behind Kragnor into the room, "Wow, I wonder what this is all about. Should we put on the uniforms just in case?" While she waits for the input of the others, she casts Detect Magic from the doorway, since she always wanted to be able to do that.

DM Carbide |

Eva, you don't think the robes and masks have been used in the last couple of days, at least. Kali, there is no detectable magic anywhere in the room except on some of your fellow party members.

![]() |

Eva frowns, but decides that the group is better safe than sorry. "We may want to take them with us, perhaps?" she replies, picking up a robe and matching mask. "I do not know."

![]() |

Senja takes down the smallest of the robes and drapes it over himself, trying to tuck it up so it doesn’t drag on the floor too much. He then sets one of the masks over his face, the eyeholes spaced so widely that he can only see out of one of them. ”How do I look?” he asks.
Will these fit small characters?

DM Carbide |

There are two that are sized to fit Small creatures.

![]() |

Senja spots a smaller robe than the one he’s wearing, and returns his to the peg it hung on. Slipping into the small robe, he says, ”There, that’s better.” Looking at the rest of the party, he says, ”Will you be dressing up as well, or should I leave this where I found it?”

"Sure, why not?" Kali says with a shrug, ignoring Eva's wise advice as she slips on a red robe, but only places the mask in her backpack.
"Hey, watch this." She deactivates the magic that allows her to look human to revert to her natural vulpine form, then puts on the red hood up, "It's almost like I'm a reverse fairy tail."

Kragnor shrugs and begins putting on the robe and mask. He then moves to check the next door.

Senja’s people have no tales of people dressing up in red robes, and Kali’s reference is lost on him. ”Wait, is it because you have a tail…fairy tail, like that? Oh, no, it must be your fey heritage, that makes it a fairy tale, or tail, perhaps…” He continues to mutter quietly to himself as the others don their robes and Kragnor checks out the next door.

![]() |

He’s not entirely certain why but Asvald joins his companions in donning the pretty dresses. ”So, uh, what now?”

DM Carbide |

How many of you are actually putting the masks on?

DM Carbide |

It sounded like Kali was doing the grandmother-what-big-teeth-I-have thing and not putting her mask on.

![]() |

Yeah, Kali's sticking with vulpine form for the moment, and the mask probably doesn't fit a fox face.

![]() |

Okay, I thought Kali was putting on the mask. If we're going with just robes, Eva will go with just robes. She still thinks you're all crazy.

DM Carbide |

Kragnor and Kali examine the door out after the party has finished getting gowned*, and find that it is neither locked nor trapped.

![]() |

Fighting the massive urge to just open the door, Kali takes a deep breath and waits for Kragnor to do the honors.

![]() |

Sighing loudly, Kragnor glances over his shoulder, awaiting the "all-ready" from his party, then opens the door just enough to poke his head and look around.

DM Carbide |

Kragnor opens the door and steps through, followed by Eva. This room (where it isn't corridor) is apparently a guard post of some sort, as evidenced by the two humans in leather armor and beaked masks like the ones you found in the armory. None of you are surprised.

Kali, you're not sure what the rope is for. Nothing apparently happened when the guard pulled it.
