A couple of slots have opened up in this Wrath of the Righteous game; we're looking to recruit!

Our current team is made up of:

Ce-Eshna Lightfoot
Female Sylph (Native: Outsider) Fighter 2/Sorcerer(Arcane) 1

Jokum of the Breakbones
Male Aasimar Ranger (Shapeshifter)/3;

Karthak Ironbreaker
Male Dwarf Inquisitor 3

Pollux Wardroxan
Male Human Cleric 3

The characters are currently resting up in the old stone travelers inn, Defenders Heart, where the Kenabres resistance has its headquarters.

Build is the twenty point buy, two traits, one of them campaign.
Character Level three, 3000 gp to outfit yourself.
Just a brief paragraph as to your personality, appearance and how you would fit into the combat team. A detailed background can wait until you're selected.

I'm looking for a fast turnaround, so decision by Friday (hopefully).

If I may ask.
Druid. Lion Shaman. But instead a tiger?
Would that be okay?

As long as there is no mechanical advantage over the Lion, should be alright.

Any restrictions on race?

Both lion and tiger fall under same catagory cat, large

No restrictions on race; but really, the more complicated the race the less likely to get in. And you can't build your own either.

Its a shame to have a WotR party without a Paladin, which I'm happy to play unless someone else had already expressed interest in that particularly class.

If thats the case I would potentially play a sorcerer, since you seem pretty solid on martial and divine casting, and it might be nice to have a full caster.

I have Teleran Zultrar available for play. A Transmutation specialist, raised on a farm, and now walks the earth wanting to expand on his craft. And finds himself giving aid against the Worldwound, able to enlarge the soldiers, or make them harder to kill, or somewhat shape the battlefield against the enemy.

This is Raziel. His info is in the alias.

Currently he's level 1 but I can easily adjust that. He started as a ninja, but will become a paladin.

I will update if chosen. :)

DM, my game died a couple of months ago. Elena is a typical paladin, who had just gotten her hands on the magical long sword, and was ready to exit the tunnels into Kenabres.

I'd love to dust her off and have her rejoin a party. If interested, I'd get her leveled ASAP.

She was originally a bit of a haughty racist versus the tiefling in her party, but she's learned to look past her original bias, due to his usefulness and dedication to the cause. She still has her moments, but is improving.

Her profile has her detailed history. I was considering having her head toward Dragon Disciple, but if the party would prefer a "regular" paladin, I'd be happy with that as well.

Please let me know if there are questions or concerns. Thanks for the consideration.

Lantern Lodge

Dotting interest. Have a paladin that I have been working on, that I would love to play with this group. At work so wont be able to do a crunch or anything else till after.

Silver Crusade

Hello, my game also ended a while ago. We had just started and I would realy like to continue.

Description:

A huge, imposing figure covered in armor from head to foot, he carries a polished shield bearing a black rose. He speaks seldom in a deep, chilling voice that sends shivers up the spine of even the boldest knights.

Beneath the armor:
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 245#
Eyes: Red
Skin: Black
Hair: None
Once he takes off the helmet, you see a horrific black-scaled monster. Gleaming white fangs, small horns, glowing red eyes and pointed, serrated ears make him seem almost a full demon.

History:

His mother Kale caused the cracking of the Kenabres Wardstone.

At least, that is the way she tells it. Before the first attacks, she was merely one of a squad of soldiers assigned to routine duty in the city. With nothing much to do most of them spent a lot of time in the local tavern, which is where she met Arvoris. A fairly good-looking young blacksmith come to trade from a neighboring village, she started spending a lot of time with him. He asked her endless questions about her and the exciting life of a soldier, and she enjoyed the attention.

Until the attack began.

With the cracking of the Wardstone, Demons began the assault , a screaming horde ready to claim all Golarian as their own. The crusaders fought bravely but were barely holding the line. After a disasterous battle on the front where she had seen almost her whole squad killed, she and a ragged group retreated back through the city. She rushed to find her lover. When she told him he had to flee, he laughed.

And then he changed.

He was not a simple craftsman but an advance scout for the Demonic Horde. And she had provided so much valuable information! Tears in her eyes, she could not believe it. She had used her Sight on him, seen no sign of evil! He grinned and raised an amulet with strange markings on it, taunting her. She rushed him, sword raised, but he teleported away, his laughter still ringing in her ears. She changed after that. Before, she had been a devotee of Shelyn, finding beauty in everything and a firm believer that anyone could find redemption. Now, she rushed into battle, fiercely battling the enemy with no regard for her own life. Slowly, they managed to turn the tide and reclaim the city. The Wardstone held, and she joined the new crusade to push the demons further back.

Until she discovered she was pregnant.

She knew once the child was born, everyone would know of her shame and betrayal, so she fled. She settled in Ustalav, kept to herself and raised the demon-child for the rest of her life. She poured all her bitterness, rage, and hate for all demons into her son and trained him to kill as soon as he could hold a sword. But she also had the wisdom to try to make him understand that he was not to blame for what he was. Through his actions, he could overcome the stain of sin left on him by both his father and herself. He took to wearing full armor as often as he could, so as to hide his horrific visage. He still rarely removes it except when alone.

But it was not all lessons about demons and training. His fondest memories are of the times when, after a long day his mother would sing to him. She had a voice that would make the goddess Shelyn herself stop and listen! She would also sometimes talk about the family she left behind, her brother Kal who as far as she knew was still fighting in Kenabres.

Last year, he returned from a trip to pick up the weapon he would need in his fight to find her dead, with a skeletal grey-skinned demon standing over her. The fiend dropped something on her body and vanished before he was able to reach them. He vowed then to destroy all demons, and to find out why she had been singled out for such misery. He still holds the strange amulet dropped by the demon, but he has not yet found someone who can tell him the meaning of the runes carved into it.

Now he has arrived in Kenabres, biding his time training in a crusader camp outside the city, ready to kill his Father and any other demon that gets in his way...

I can level him up quickly if selected. He is a front-line fighter designed to be very tough and powerful against demons.

Do you allow taking a Drawback for an extra trait? I would like to keep it because it is important to his backstory and where I plan to take the character, but I can remove it if necessary.

Camris! I'd be interested in helping fill any spots you might have open. I'm getting ready to step out for my office's Christmas party right now, but I'll have a proper submission up for you tonight or tomorrow.

The Exchange

I would love to bring this character. I can easily level him up and fill in the remaining details.

Liberty's Edge

A heavily cloaked figure walks into the room, and casually leans against the wall as his azure eyes gleam from the depths of his hood. "I hear you are in need of some assistance?" Awen casually removes the scarf covering his face to reveal a darkly shaded and weather worn face. "I would be a capable and helpful accessory to any adventure you might have planned. I am more than capable in either melee or ranged combat, and am an experienced scout. My preferred quarry is the undead, but anything that disturbs the balance of nature may end up meeting with my sword." As Awen continues to remove his hood and cloak, you can see the nubs on his forehead, reminiscent of little horns, and his tail whips out and grabs a drink from the bar and puts it in his hand. "I am a Tiefling. Born of the sickest desires of a deamon and the innocence of my mother, then cast out into the wilds when she saw the creature I was. Now, my place is wandering the world and attempting to keep the balance where I may."
Awen is a level 3.. ranger 2/ rogue 1. If selected, I would have to add in my chronicle sheets and etc.. This is my in-person character and so I havent bothered to put that stuff up here.

in a clear and high tenor a lingering voice sings from a worn down stage attempting to cheer up this otherwise dingy establishment and then after the first song says
"I am Morgrym, hat is on the stage for tips and also accepting free drinks and lovely women who wish to meet me at my room" he says with a dashing smile and tip of his hat before continuing performing.

Please consider the following character more info to follow with gear and background. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I'd like to present Stalford Fain, a dwarven hunter and his animal companion Soren for your consideration, Camris.

I was intrigued by the Primal Companion archetype for hunters, and in Soren's case I think a neat way to explain the transformation is for Soren to have been affected by the Worldwound and left a darker power which Stalford and Soren can tap into to, in a sense, fight fire with fire.

As for Stalford, I think the Child of the Crusade campaign trait fits him best - I presume you've maintained the link between the traits and their associated mythic paths?

What roles does each party member fill in an out of combat? What do you feel like you have a need for?

Gilbert is a quiet dwarf. Dressed in a spiked breastplate and buckler, he carries no melee weapon, though he does have a composite longbow on his back.

He enjoys combat, and loves to isolate the leader of any group of enemies. He runs into combat, grapples his foes, and crushes them to death.

When asked of his past, all he currently will say is that the monastery life was not for him.

Might I ask why you chose undead for his preferred quarry, which I assume to mean favored enemy?

Yes, undead is his favored enemy. When I created this character, it was for a regular game (not Wrath of the Riteous), and the undead made the most sense for the campaign we were playing in. I can rework the character.. basically create a second with his mold... and go from there if needs must.

Sylas is a jokester demon slayer that fights with two longswords. He cracks jokes and likes to taunt the demons that he fights.

Moyra is a paladin, designed to be both a front line tank and also a back up healer. She is guardian path, exposed to awefulness. She is devout and very deeply connected in some way to Iomedae, though she knows not how, and a combination of her faith and her unknown heritage (fey foundling) was the reason she survived being attacked at a very early age. The demons left scars, she is unable to rightly access magics that paladins normally can, and she is a bit physically weaker as a result of the deformities and damage taken at such a young age. Her faith is what propels her forward, and she trusts that Iomedae will keep her safe.

She is intended to be able to wade into front line combat with the others, but also will have a great number of lay on hands as well as channel energy abilities, so she is not without healing power, as well as being trained in the classical mundane healing arts.

Not quite set on going full 18 cha, may back it off to 16 to give her other stats a bit of a boost, but for now this seems good to me. More than willing to discuss distribution to best help the party if selected.

Thanks for Consideration.

How many members are you looking for? It looks like you've already filled the paladin slot, and I hesitate to build a full character just to find out that everything is already filled.

If there's a spot open, I'll likely roll up a wizard intent on becoming a Rift Warden. Mechanically, she'd be able to provide knowledge skills and crafting, as well as give the party a full arcane caster.

As far as personality, I'm thinking of an LG Rahadoumi. She views the Worldwound as a prime example of what happens when gods and other extra-planars are allowed to meddle in the affairs of the Material Plane, and seeks to aid in its closure. While her personal belief in the Laws of Man are somewhat rigid, she has come to recognize that it may be impossible to banish the demons completely without divine aid, and tries her best not to judge those who have, in their mortal weakness, sought the aid of the gods.

Dal Salpher wrote:

Yes; though i'm not married to it. If there is a good reason to uncouple the mechanics with the Mythic background, I'm willing to listen.

I am looking to select two more players.

Dark Archive

I'd like to submit Curn Blackhand (human slayer), a Sarkorian native who was rescued by crusaders after being forced into a demonic ritual as a boy. Since then, he's devoted himself to demon hunting and serving as a scout and skirmisher for the army in Kenabres. He's a big man, his arms and chest covered in traditional Sarkorian tattoos, tribal fetishes mixed in with crusader holy symbols adorning his armor and weapons.

He's a scout and front-line combatant (shortsword and shield bashing) who would work well when paired with another melee fighter. I can pick up trapfinding as a slayer talent at level 4 if that's needed for the group.

Also, I have no trouble posting reliably. I've been running one PbP on these boards for the past year and a half, and was a player in a year-long, successfully-completed Dragon's Demand campaign.

Not to bug you again, but I never got an answer to my above questions DM-Camris.

Well, I don't know how to answer you in this. I just took over the game and don't really know how the players fight. Plus, with all the recruits, the dynamic will change again.

From what I've seen of the characters, I THINK they're set for melee. Beyond that your guess is as good as mine. Why not submit something you would LIKE to play?

DM-Camris wrote:

Haha you have quite a point there, although at any given time I usually have so many character ideas floating around that I can usually fill a niche. I'll start brainstorming ideas!

Arthas sent me a pm about joining this game. Is there room and do I need to make any changes to Voren?

Voren can you show us what Voren would look like at level 3 with 3000gp of gear please.

Okay. I'll try and get that to you as soon as I can. Do I need to change my point buy? Also, a few questions:

1) Could you guys let me know where you are at? Are you out of the underground?
2) I was planning on making Voren into a Hierophant/Archmage. Is that okay?
3) Is my backstory okay with you guys?

When we fight we usually jump on the nearest opponent and beat him into submission... Nothing fancy but it gets the job done... most of the time!

As for roles, the group is short on dedicated casters (Ce-Eshna is looking to become an arcane archer if I reckon correctly), lacks good sources of healing (in theory it's Pollux, me and now Arthas but I can't heal very well, pollux can't either and I don't think a paladin's main focus is healing), also we might lack a rogue type character for stealth, chests and traps but it's probably less important than having a dedicated caster and healer.

On Moyra, one of the things I was on the fence about what which mythic path to take. I had intended her to be a healer and play the role of a damage absorber as well. If need be, I can switch her mythic path to heirophant, as there are a lot of abilities there that will augment her healing considerably. I had built her with both focuses in mind, but able to switch depending on which the group needed more.

Also, how do I determine my total hit points.

Are we gonna be long lost twins if selected Voren? :P

Not sure. Considering Voren is from the past. :P

At the start each one of us had a mythic path, Karthak is a defender and Pollux a heirophant and the others have their own different path too. I don't know if Pollux is coming back though.

Oh, I know EXACTLY who I want to bring into this game! My very first D&D character ever made, a wizard who was obsessed with the planes and outsiders. He's had roles in many of my homebrew campaigns and has several years of effort put into him. I'll get a version of him drawn up and be back tonight!

Traits
Hedge Magician: Benefit: Whenever you craft a magic item, you reduce the required gp cost to make the item by 5%.
Riftwarden Orphan: You bear a strange birthmark on your body—something you’ve learned is the Sign of the Seeker’s Spiral, a rune associated with the secret society known as the Riftwardens. You have researched this rune, and have learned that the mark sometimes appears on the children of Riftwardens who have been exposed to particularly strange planar energies. Unfortunately, you never knew your parents, for you were raised by a foster family in Kenabres. Your foster family has confirmed that both of your parents were Riftwardens, and has further confirmed that your parents went missing on a secret mission into the Worldwound less than a month after you were born. You’re not sure what happened to them, but you’re certain they’re dead—and your gut tells you that the one who murdered them yet lives! In any event, you’ve long felt magic in your blood, and casting spells comes easily to you. You gain a +2 trait bonus on all concentration checks.

Silya is a thin, angular woman with all the features typically found in the Rahadoumi: she has dark skin, sharp cheekbones, and broad shoulders. She possesses several noticeable burn marks across her face and hands, and her left hand is missing a third of her small finger. Even more prominent, however, is a birthmark that lies just below her right eye. The mark is shaped as three spirals arranged in a triangle formation, with each spiral extending outwards and meeting all at the same point.

Silya is typically dressed in long, flowing robes of red and silver. Her hair is worn in small, tight braids. She walks with an air of confidence and purpose, albeit with a light limp that favors her right leg.

I have not yet allocated much of the 3,000 starting gold, but will do so if selected. Or if I have too much free time before a final decision is reached.

I am slightly altering her personality to fit a compromise between the First Law and growing up in Kenabres. She developed her own unique take on the role of gods and extraplanars on the Material Plane, which is essentially that they have no place in the Material Plane. This may evolve due to interactions with the other PCs, but for the moment she believes that as long as the gods and extraplanars keep themselves physically out of the Material Plane, she has no issue with them. Obviously, the Worldwound is a major violation of her personal beliefs.

I am back with my character ready to be reviewed.

Tiasar Auvrelth and his familiar Morde.

All of the character creation information (except for how he will fit into the combat team) is listed in the profiles, including the beginning of the background.

How he will fit into the combat team:
Tiasar is a conjurer, battlefield controller, and utility caster. He uses summoning spells to deliver and tank damage, buff spells to empower the party, and has some utility spells for various situations (infernal healing, feather fall, grease, obscuring mist, invisibility, etc.). He will usually have an arsenal of scrolls on him to be prepared for as much as he can. He will also serve as a translator (using magic if necessary) and walking library (5 knowledge skills maxed).

I appreciate any thoughts or feedback, and don't hesitate to ask if anything needs clarification.

Also, do you allow drawbacks? If so I would like to take the oblivous drawback to reflect Tiasar spending most of his time inside, doing research and separated from mankind.

Teleran Zultros, Elven Transmuter, reportin' for duty!

I'd like to introduce you to the new, improved Voren!

His party role would be as a healer, buffs/debuffs, and decent amounts of summoning. He'll also be a crafter of staves and potions. He's armed with tons of potions and alchemic reagents and other neat stuff. The reagents will boost the power of his spells. But, when all's said and done, he's set to be a primary healer.

Ready to go!

OK, THIS RECRUITMENT IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW APPLICANTS!

Live RP and Christmas stuff this weekend, so probably decision late Sunday.

Yes you can have an extra trait for a drawback.

20 point buy.

Hit point convention is to roll for hitpoints, but reroll if you get less than half+1.

1: We are out of the underground and safe at Defenders Heart at the moment after dropping off most of the NPC's across the remains of the city. The companions are about to be sent out to raid a suspected cult safe house.

2: I'm cool with that.
3: Yep.

Hit point convention is to roll for hitpoints, but reroll if you get less than half+1.

Okay. So start out with level 1 full hp (7 hp + 1 favored class = 8 hp). Now for the rolls:

hp level 2: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
hp level 3: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

And add two extra hp for favored class. So my total would be 20. I'll also go through my skills and make sure that's correct.

EDIT: Just went through my skills and redistributed my 15 skill points. There's not much change.

HP lv 2: 1d6 ⇒ 6
HP lv 3: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Nice! Now I'm only moderately easier to kill than every other class!

I'm really excited about the trait I found, as it goes perfectly with the drawback and is cool for the campaign too.

Lucid Dreamer

I believe those are the final changes I'll be making, unless selected and then I'll flesh out the background more. Can't wait for selection, best of luck everybody!
