A little confused. If I sold the cloak it would be at half its value?
The exceptions are trade goods and art and jewelry (Ultimate Equipment, Appendix 2).

Xaivan Slingblade |

Hmm, still might be a good idea to sell it as group loot. That 500gp could go a long way in getting us some needed gear. As much as I could use the cloak, not being able to share in any funds would possibly do more harm that the cloak can do good.
Sell it and divvy it up please.

Sold it is!
Ce-Eshna: add 54.53 gp to your pockets!
Jokum: add 55.53 gp to your pockets!
Pollux: add 5.73 to your pockets!
Ce-Eshna: add 54.54 AND 111.11 gp to your pockets!

Xavian: add 55.54 AND 111.11 gp to your pockets!
Ce-Eshna, Jokum, and Xavian all have 166.65 gp; Pollux has 116.65 gp.

Jokum of the Breakbones |

....I don't quite understand the right-hand chunk of that spreadsheet, but it all looks very impressive!
As an addition/aside, what about the dead cultists' gear? Two masterwork chain shirts (one of which I might end up wearing), glaives, etc...
In the meantime, yay cash!

Tesseract Squires |

Oh, thanks Jokum! I'll edit that, I just grabbed Karthak's list and forgot to add the new stuff.
So...
Don't spend anything yet! :P

Tesseract Squires |

Okay, so this is basically how it goes.
Stuff is listed on the left. If someone claims something, its value is added to their "Item Value" on the left. Let's take me for example:
Tess has claimed Light Crossbow (35 gp), 10 bolts (1 gp), Millorn's Spellbook (160 gp), a brass unholy symbol (5 gp), and a scroll of Cause Fear (25 gp). Altogether, that puts her "Item Value" at 226 gp.
When something is unclaimed by a specific person, it will go either in Party Loot (potions of cure light wounds, for example) or it will be sold (like the belt pouch, or the rubies). The wealth accumulated from selling things will be split among the party, with the aim of achieving equity as possible.
Ce-Eshna, for example, has only laid claim to 4 arrows and a set of Caltrops: that makes her item value 1.2 gp. So she gets enough gp to put her on par with the next highest person, then they each get enough to put them on par with the third, and so on until we run out of cash.
So! This is the current state of affairs:
Items in Red have been sold; items in Green are unclaimed by a specific person and will be used as needed for the party as a whole. (I deleted a couple of unnecessary columns from the stuff on the right; they only made it more confusing.)
The value listed under Additional Gold next to your name is how much gold you get to put in your pockets/spend/put in a gnome's g-string. The correct values are:
Ce-Eshna: 272 gp, 2 sp, 7 cp
Jokum: 23 gp, 2 sp, 7 cp
Karthak: 0 gp
Pollux: 0 gp
Tesseract: 47 gp, 4 sp, 7 cp
Xavian: 273 gp, 2 sp, 7 cp
Sorry for the confusion. If it doesn't make sense, please let me know.

Jokum of the Breakbones |

Awwwww, that's not as much cash. :P (At least, I'm assuming this is replacing the previous number, not adding to it.)
But it looks like it makes sense!

Not as much cash, true, but you have wicked cool armor. And besides....
That will probably drastically change after the ting with the brooch gets resolved.
Gosh dang it.
Also, I claimed the scroll of cause fear because its the only one I can add to my familiar.

Tesseract Squires |

If there's anything in the party loot that we want to sell, y'all can have more spending money.

Tesseract Squires |

Please note that the Loot list doesn't track your personal items. The purpose of the Loot list is to make sure we distribute the wealth we find as equally as possible. What you do with the money/loot you get is your own business, unless you sell it to distribute wealth to the party.

Tesseract Squires |

There's a +1 Morningstar up for grabs.
Ce-Eshna and Jokum: you are tied for the lowest wealth. Which of you would like the Morningstar?
(Tess is too, but she doesn't want it; Xavian can't use it because he's Small)
Edited to include Xavian's below post. That's always a drag with Small characters; I like playing gnomes and I was so happy in my IRL game when I got a cool magical spear from a Kobold.

Xaivan Slingblade |

As mentioned in my edit in my purchase post in gameplay, if its a medium-sized weapon I can't use it.

Tesseract Squires |

Karthak, your list is a little off. You have some things attributed to the wrong people and there are things people have taken that you don't have on your list. Do you mind if we just use the one on the Google Spreadsheet, to minimize confusion?
Anything in Green is party loot and can be claimed. The potions and food rations are communal, since everyone can use them.
I'm selling off the scroll of shocking grasp since it's not on my or Pollux's spell list. Pollux, if you don't want the scroll of resist energy, we'll sell that too.

Tesseract Squires |

It would be kinda funny to see us trying to sell it in the marketplace.
"Hey, isn't this the chief's morningstar?..."
Don't worry about having it boost your loot amount right now. We'll add it as an "after this" thing.

Xaivan Slingblade |

I figured as much. Ignore my edit, I'm buying the cold iron morningstar then. Thanks for clearing it up.

Xaivan Slingblade |

Karthak can take the cloak then. Tess, you'll have to redistribute the wealth again.
I could certainly use it but I need other stuff also. I'll go for a bunch of little stuff before settling on one big one (though a cloak of resistance is a staple).

Tesseract Squires |

For the record; the cloak was Xavian's and he sold it. He could have kept all the money from selling it, but he chose to distribute it among the party.
With that being said, he has no obligation to give the cloak to Karthak. It's nice and all, but it's kind of weird to yank back money from everyone in the party just so you can have something nice. I personally think we should have some sort of procedure so that this doesn't happen again. Perhaps I'm just being overly sensitive though. No worries.
In any case: the only people who have extra cash to spend are Xavian and Ce-Eshna. Please refer to the loot sheet to see what your gold income is.
Edit: last chance; everyone look over the stuff colored in green on the loot sheet and decide if we're selling anything. The glaives and spiked gauntlets, for example. We should keep the healing stuff.

Xaivan Slingblade |

I have no issue with letting him actually keep it. If we were around a table in real time this would have gone much smoother and with no issues as it would have been a 10 second conversation. In PbP it can get messy.

Jokum of the Breakbones |

Yeah--while I could use the cash, that sort of thing is much easier to sort out in real time, so if it can be made use of, I say go for it.
No worries, though; the spreadsheet is great.
:)

Jokum of the Breakbones |

Also, GM Striker, procedural question: I'm assuming since Xaivan failed to find any cold iron arrows, there are none to be had? (As opposed to, I dunno, them not liking halflings or something? :P)

Karthak Ironbreaker |

My stance on this is pretty simple: I prefer to keep useful and costy stuff rather than selling it at half price. The cloak is a good item for our level, if we sell it we gain 500 gp and then? What can we do with that amount of money that trumps the cloak bonuses themselves?
The same should apply to any future transitions: if someone wants to sell an item better ask first if someone else would like it instead of forcing him to buy it at higher prices.
That said I realize Karthak is keeping two items (MW warhammer and cloak of resistance) of great value, it's just that they are useful to him (and therefore the party), but I won't be calling dibs on stuff unless it really is something Karthak absolutely needs until everyone has gotten a fair share of the loot.

Xaivan Slingblade |

No problem Karthak. This not being like a PFS scenario makes it a little different when it comes to the items. We'll manage just fine!
If I need to make more purchases I'll do so later this afternoon, in any event I'm ready to go.

So this was dumb of me but I thought it was implied that they were going to patch us up. I mean they did offer it when we got their buddy out from under the rock.

Xaivan Slingblade |

We may have gotten sidetracked by the loot and the brooch that belonged to the chief's son and just assumed all that was happening. At a table (or if the PCs were actually real people) I'm sure that we would have made sure we got all healed up as much as we could before moving on.

Karthak Ironbreaker |

I tought we spent more than 1 day in town. If that's the case I suggest we stop for at least a couple of days more before moving out. I would save the potions if possible as it's not likely we'll find another friendly settlement before we reach the surface.

Tesseract Squires |

How many days do we want to rest? How much ability damage have y'all suffered? We should get that back to regular numbers if we can.

GM Striker |

Standard rest will recover 1 a day, just at a glance seems Pollux is down about 10. Just remember every day you spend down here is another day of fighting on the surface.
cost of spells back in town was (spell level x CL x 10gp) Currently they have a level 1 and 3 cleric available.
Cure Light wounds 10gp, Lesser restoration 60gp, ect.
So how long did you want to spend in town?

Karthak Ironbreaker |

For me a couple of days, enough to get back to positive constitution numbers. I don't think we should stay down here too long if the length of our stay impacts what's happening above.
Btw, Karthak doesn't want potions or to spend money on cures but those who need them should do as they please.

![]() |

Eh, two days in the town and Pollux will take 3 potions of lesser restoration, I suppose I'll buy a 4th so that we can still have one just in case. Also, I didn't think about this, but I should probably sell his old leather armor. I won't be needing it anymore. So 4
1d4 ⇒ 2
1d4 ⇒ 1
1d4 ⇒ 2
1d4 ⇒ 3
He should now be back up to full con now. As for HP, 2 potion of cure light should make him good (unless max HP scales with returned Con).
Cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
So there. Back to bearable. We can just say all that happened back in the town.
