I had to say goodbye to my beloved pup today, so I may be offline for a couple days (though I also might decide this is a good distraction, so may not disappear at all).

@Calla - what do you mean how people talk about the elves? People talk about this AP? :p

BTW, since you guys have a week or so of downtime, why don't you hash out a plan for the buying and selling of goods, crafting, etc. and do it here, so we can quickly make the transition. I will double check the loot list today and make sure it is up to date (I know I haven't yet added the "performance tips")

Okay, how much cash do we have to hand?

I'll just repeat one thing I think might be a necessity; rings of elemental resistance.

Okay the loot sheet is current

Okay, I'm eyeing spells to scribe and would like you guys' input:

5th - Apparent master, communal stoneskin, dismissal, fickle winds, fire snake, lightning arc, overland flight, passwall, teleport
4th - Communal mount, communal nondetection, communal protection from energy, dimensional anchor, greater celestial healing, greater make whole, remove curse, revenant armour, secure shelter, tough crowd
3rd - Assume form, communal darkvision, communal protection from arrows, communal resist energy, communal spiderclimb, mass dazzling blade, sheet lightning

Yes, I know I can't afford to buy them all and we don't have time to wait for me to scribe them all. ^^; Help me winnow fr the essentials?

Some thoughts:

5th -- communal stoneskin (a great damage soak; that said, might be able to get away with non-communal for Lefrik, who's our main damage soak), Dismissal (if we're expecting demons that could be huge, though of course it's save or suck), teleport (always a good spell), passwall (same).

Overland flight could be useful, but I think less so. Fire snake and lightning arc are decent damaging spells, but again, if going against demons, they're less useful (especially lightning arc). I'd also see if we can find non-SR spells to use vs. the drow...

4th: communal protection from energy (though I'm not quite as sure why you're as concerned about energy damage, but maybe my brain's not working quite right), secure shelter (could be a good failsafe), remove curse (always a potentially useful spell). None of the rest really wow me.

3rd: communal darkvision, communal protection from arrows, communal resist energy, communal spiderclimb (any of these feel like they could be useful, but not sure I see overwhelming need...)

Will try to look at treasure ASAP.

Let me offer some justification:

Communal darkvision - Drow can and will spam Darkness, so spells like Light and Daylight are not always going to be useful. Bonus: if we can just see in the dark, we have better chances of sneaking up on Drow. [/pipe dream]

Communal protection from arrows - Three words. Drow sleep poison. We got jolly lucky, all things considered, that none of us dropped during the fight with that retriever because of the arrows those Drow kept shooting our way.

Re: energy resistance - Demons can spam various attacks and are themselves resistant to several elements. Also, remember the Retriever? I'd have needed a res. instead of a depetrification if I hadn't had Energy Absorption... You guys don't have that class feature. o_o I'm the Abjurer, I have to look out for you guys' safety!

Thanks, Lefrik (and everyone else).

AB: Those justifications all make sense. Hadn't thought about the sleep poison. I still think energy resistance is a little less important if only because we're not going to really know what energy we're facing, but I'm fine with whatever you want to work on.

OK, so going through the loot list:
It looks like we have 62924 to distribute after selling everything (if I'm reading it correctly)?

Also it looks like Kelendra has two sets of armor? (I'm assuming she can do away with the +2 chain shirt)

In addition, unless someone can think of some reason not to, I think Calla will sell her +1 hand crossbow (2,400 gp) (and her masterwork longbow, 375 gp)? I'd held on to it for the eventual drow infiltration but even then I wasn't really using it. I suspect I could do more with the 1,200 gp.

The big purchases I'd like are:
* Bracers of falcon's aim (4,000 gp; 2,000 if Stone Lad makes it)
* Quiver of endless ammunition (assuming Bigrin's OK with it, basically an efficient quiver with abundant ammunition tacked on, which I figure should be about 3000 gp, or 1,500 for AB) -- this would let me stop having to track regular arrows, which would make life a lot easier. I can formally write it up as a magic item if you really want, Bigrin.

Beyond that, I could see boosting some of my + items, but don't know that I see an overwhelming need if we need money for other things.

--

It looks like we have two mostly charged wands of CLW so we should be good with that for a bit still.

SFS Signup sheet

@Calla - not sure where you got the numbers for Quiver of Endless Ammunition, but I make it as 5800gp.

Efficient Quiver - 1800
continuous effect, 1 min/level - 1 x 1 x 2000 x 2 = 4000
total 5800

Alternatively, you could simply buy 100 durable arrows and an efficient quiver, and we never have to speak again of your ammunition supply. We can just handwave the searching for spent arrows bit. Your choice

I could make you an efficient quiver in one day, if you like. The quiver of endless ammunition would take the better part of the week.
If no one else needs me to craft anything, I can do the bracers, too, but I'd really like to enchant something for Lefrik; either something Elf-bane or Demon-bane, for the coming battles.

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 84, AC 24/16/19, F +11*, R +9*, W +13*, Init +8, Per +21 Inquisitor 10

I forget how I figured out the price (I suspect I devalued the efficient quiver a bit as I don't need all the extra spaces -- just arrows), but if you're willing to handwave the ammunition supply, that's good enough for me. I'm just sick of tracking it when I'm going through three or four arrows in a round.

That'd cost 100 gp plus, if AB crafts it, 900, for 1,000 gp total. (Plus 2,000 or 4,000 for the bracers.)

I'm all for doing stuff for Lefrik. AB, do you want to figure out your costs for what you want (the scribing and whatnot) and the time it will take and then we can proceed from there? Looking at Bigrin's wealth chart, we should probably try to get Calla and Kelendra some more personal-use items, but it might be easier to figure out what funds we actually have available from that 62 grand.

Probably sell the adamantine chain shirt before the +2 chain shirt. Kel could use a +1 weapon, and belts of dexterity are always nice. Add an amulet of natural armor for fun.

Male Goblin Wizard 11 (Abjurer); Init +2; Fly 40 ft.; Darkvision 60 ft,; Perception +5; AC 18 (touch 14, flatfooted 16; +2 Dex., +1 size, +1 natural, +4 armour), hp 58/77; Fort +6; Ref +6; Will +9

Okay.

Chapter one
* I originally wanted to scribe two scrolls of Break enchantment, one for Calla and one for Kelendra. At 1,125 gp for a 5th-level scroll, that'd take me roughly four days, so no go. I will instead scribe one scroll of Break enchantment.
Subtract 562gp, 5 sp. Subtract one day.
On the second day, I need to spend 125 gp's worth of time, call it two hours. That still leaves me six more hours for further scribing. I can use that to churn out three 2nd-level scrolls. I can scribe two scrolls of See invisibility for Calla.
Subtract 150 gp.
And one final scroll of Knock for me; you never know when it'll come in useful.
Subtract another 75 gp.
Scroll total: 784 gp, 5 sp.

* I want to reconstitute Duchess. This'll require me to turn one of our rooms into a laboratory, unless we can rent a laboratory for me to use here in Elftown.
Subtract 1550 gp.
I also want to add a voice to Magpie; I first started crafting homunculi so they could serve as remote surveillance and communication helpers, so giving Magpie the power to speak seems like a solid choice. ^^;
Subtract 500 gp.
Crafting Duchess with a voice will take me one day and 500 gp's worth of hours. There is no time-frame set for augmenting an existing homunculus, but can we say the total procedure will take me two days?Homunculus total: 2050 gp.

* Subtract total, Anklebiter's private crafting: 2834 gp, 5 sp
* Time total, Anklebiter's private crafting: four days.

Chapter two
I have spells to scribe into my book, for our communal benefit.

3rd level: Communal darkvision, communal protection from arrows: 750 gp buy, 180 scribe; one to two hours to add to my spellbook.
4th level: Communal protection from energy, remove curse, secure shelter; 2,100 gp buy, 480 gp scribe; four to five hours to add to my spellbook.
5th level: Dismissal, passwall, stoneskin. 3,375 gp buy, 750 gp scribe, seven to eight hours to add to my spellbook.

6535 costs total, fourteen to fifteen hours to write it all into my spellbook. (Unless I made a math error, which is depressingly likely by this point.) I can do it in one day, leaving ten hours for food and sleep.

Chapter three

I have already used up five days by this point, but I have two days left to craft for you guys, unless we have more than one week to work. ^^;
Total costs for my private projects: 9,834 gp, 5 sp. Also add doses of special material component for Communal stoneskin, at 250 gp a pop.
This may be too much for me to claim, so ... rebuttal?

The Land of Adventure welcomes visitors.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

All right, let's see if we can figure this out and get things moving on.

We start with 62,924 gp to spend.
I have no problem with AB's spending list, and I assume no one else does either (he leads by far in the WBL, but the rest of us are far more able to keep doing stuff daily without things like scrolls, and they're all used for party good. I'm going to hold off on calculating stoneskin material costs until we see where our money list stands (again, though, I consider that party loot even if AB is holding onto it).

That leaves us with 53,089 gp, 5 sp.

Calla wants to spend 3,000 gp on her quiver (and buying arrows), which will take 1 day of AB crafting.

That'd cost 100 gp plus 900 with if AB crafting the efficient quiver, for 1,000 gp total. Add in 4,000 for the bracers. I wouldn't mind adding +1 to both my armor and buckler, which would cost 6,000 gp. That'd put me at a total of 11,000 gp on my list. I'll sell my hand crossbow and masterwork longbow, however, to and spend that too, reducing my cost to 9,800

43,289 gp remaining
Kel would like to sell the adamantine chain shirt, giving her 2,550 gp.

She wants a +1 weapon of some sort (dagger?) -- that's 2,000 gp, or maybe a touch more (this can be offset by selling the chain shirt, above, so I'm going to call it a zero-sum sale and assume she could probably grab a 2nd-level potion/scroll too with it).

A belt of Dexterity +4 would be 16,000 gp, which I *think* we have enoug money to afford. I wonder, though, if it might make more sense to give that to Calla (her aim depends on Dex) and let Kel have Calla's current belt of dexterity +2?

An amulet of natural armor +1 is 4,000 gp or +2 is 8,000 gp.

This would take out money down to 23,289.5 OR 19,289.5

Bruendor and Lefrik, do you want anything?

We could spend 5,000 gp on stoneskin components (that would give us 20 uses of the spell, which is very useful) and still basically have 15,000 gp for the two of you (Calla has 560 gp on hand and I assume others have a little to make up that difference) -- or 19,000 if you want a little more and we only go +1 for Kel's amulet. We could also save some money to build up for future purchases, but who knows when/if we'll get a chance to make those.

SUMMARY
This would get us:
* AB's entire list,
* Calla's quiver and bracers
* +2 to Calla's AC
* a +2 upgrade to Calla's Dex belt (boosting her AC and her to hit)
* a +1 weapon for Kel
* a +1 or +2 natural armor upgrade for Kel
* a +2 belt of Dex for Kel
* a miscellaneous potion/scroll for Kel -- or with a little more money a page of spell knowledge, giving her another 1st-level spell? (Is there some other spell you want, Kel? We could also upgrade this to a slightly larger expenditure if so.)
* 5,000 gp worth of stoneskin components
* 15,000-19,000 gp worth of gear for Lefrik and Bruendor.

that plan looks good, the amulet of natural armor +1 is only 2,000, so Kel can go with that and we have 25,289.5 for Brue and Lefrik.

I Have anxiety issues and depression in my own family line so.. sympathies. I think at this rate, Lefrik is considering which two handed item to keep. Nostalgia has him fond of this magic great axe rom his friends. Sheer hitting damage says the vicious great axe has its perks even if it eats him alive. The great sword with shocks is probably not going to do a thing against demonds but I'm not sure he knows that.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

I would say keep the magic great axe and maybe we up it's enchantment. I think vicious is a lousy choice (though I guess others can disagree), but perhaps we make it a +2 bane axe (or furious).

I think we could also try to boost Lefrik's AC some. If we want to get Lefrik some more ranged options, perhaps a returning cold iron javelin?

Looking at Lefrik's sheet, he's also got two armors: +1 mithral chainmail, +1 noqual breastplate. Which is he wearing? That's more that we could sell.

At any rate, maybe we bump one of those up by +1 (which would cost 3,000 gp) and his weapon (which could be more expensive depending on what he wants to do).

--

I'd also suggest we try to boost Brue's AC. Not sure what else he might want. It looks like he only has a Masterwork Chain Shirt, so maybe we get that up to a +2 chain shirt? That's ~4,000 gp.

HP 105/110, AC 24/13/22, F +12, R +14, W +5, Init +2, Per +14 (+17 traps)

I'm wearing +1 shadow mithril breastplate, which is +1 armor with some extra gold on top. We could probably enchant that further. A +2 small shield of some variety would probably be the best solution for AC improvement for me. I really thought I'd find one on one of the drow we fought in Zirnakaynin, but clearly not!

Male Goblin Wizard 11 (Abjurer); Init +2; Fly 40 ft.; Darkvision 60 ft,; Perception +5; AC 18 (touch 14, flatfooted 16; +2 Dex., +1 size, +1 natural, +4 armour), hp 58/77; Fort +6; Ref +6; Will +9

I could also use that one day I have left to craft Bruendor an amulet of natural armour +1.

If we have more than seven days to work, I could add Evil outsider bane to Lefrik's current magic axe. It wouldn't become more effective against standard foes, but it'd become +3 against demons and the like. If we don't, we can have an Elf wizard add it, instead.

Ideally, I'd boost both Lefrik's and Brue's (potential) amulets of natural armour to at least +2, but I fear we don't have that kind of time.

half-elf Oracle 11 | HP 91 | AC 27/15/24 | F +6, R +7, W +9(+2) | init +3, Perception +7 | CMB +9, CMD 24

Kel could take that mithral chain mail +1 and we sell the chain shirt +2

did we identify and sell the sword that Kel grabbed from the last drow?

SFS Signup sheet

it was a keen +1 two-bladed sword.

It was in the loot spreadsheet, but no value. That has been fixed.

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 84, AC 24/16/19, F +11*, R +9*, W +13*, Init +8, Per +21 Inquisitor 10

So let's finish this up so we can move on; since there seems to be no discussion, I'm going to assume the following is finalized.

The loot sheet now indicates we have 67124, up 4,200 from before, I believe for the drow sword in the previous post.

AB gets everything on his list INCLUDING 5,000 gp worth of stoneskin components.

Calla gets her quiver (and arrows), bracers and an additional +1 to her armor and buckler. She also gets a +4 belt of dexterity, and hands down her +2 belt of dexterity to Kelendra. She's selling her hand crossbow and masterwork longbow (costs already factored in here).

Kel loses her adamantine chain shirt and gets a +1 weapon of her choice PLUS some item worth 200 gp (probably a potion/scroll, Kel). These costs equal out. She also gets Calla's +2 GLOVES (I'd previously thought this was a belt, but noticed as I was updating my sheet they're actually gloves) of dexterity and an amulet of natural armor +2

This leaves 18,289.5 gp for Bruendor and Lefrik. They ALSO have several duplicative items they can sell (particularly Lefrik with his weapons). I would say it's up to them to decide what they want there.

Bruendor will get an additional +1 to his armor (3,000 gp) and a +2 small shield (4,160 gp), and an amulet of natural armor +1 (crafted by AB) for a total of 8,160 gp.

That leaves Lefrik with 10,000 gp, plus the proceeds of his weapon sales. I think adding a demon bane weapon for him makes some sense. Could further enchant his axe for 6,000 gp to be demonbane. Then maybe he uses the remaining 4,000 plus the proceeds from his weapon sales to get a +1 returning javelin (so he has a ranged weapon)? Not sure that's worth the money, but I'll let him make that decision.

If he doesn't want that, we could also hold onto that money or throw it into some party supply.

--

OK, let's assume we're done with gear and move on. :) I'm declaring us ready when you are, GM, unless someone speaks up very quickly. I'm also upgrading Calla's sheet with all of this.

--

Also, Bigrin, note that this will change Calla and Kel's initiative modifiers.
