Amavin Zephyra |

Amavin enters the room again, and immediately catches Ishana's eye with a quick sharp signal. The signal means utterly nothing to the casual observer, but Ishana had insisted on Amavin learning a few visual cue's so that in a diplomatic arena, they could subtly communicate without cutting into an existing communicate.
When Ishana spots Amavin's signal, she immediately lets go of Ralph's arm and gives a short nod in the direction of Amavin. "Please excuse me, I need to have a quick word" she mumers by way of an excuse before weaving her way through the crowd, dragging Amavin into a suitably quiet corner. "What's the big deal Amavin?" she asks urgently.
Amavin, glances quickly, waiting until she feels no-one is within earshot, as well as a large upswell of conversation. Unwilling to begin the conversation if anyone close by can hear, she drops her voice to a whisper, before switching to Sylvan. "It appears that in the face of numerous threats, the king might well be after a political marriage to attempt to bring stability to this kingdom, which just made this dinner about one hundred fold more dangerous. All these people here, all of them wanting to use the current situation for their own personal game, if they knew what the king was planning, things could possibly escalate extremely quickly. Regardless, the king wants a secret meeting tonight, so I'll need to tell Ignatius, Titian, and Elliomander that they are needed. I have no idea if the king also wants me to keep in touch with all the significant players of if he plans on doing that himself, so for now I'll just talk to the rest of 'The Blessed' and play the rest by ear".
Glancing around, Amavin spots a gnome watching her in the corner, and she frowns slightly. Without taking her eyes of him, Amavin gestures to Ishana. "Dear, do me a small favour and see what Axhammer over there wants. Doubtlessly he wants my presence for something so have a chat and see what it is. If he won't talk to you then thats fine, its probably nothing important that I need worry about anyway, in any case, afterwards report back to me, dinner is starting and I suspect I'll need you close by for the moment".
As Amavin watches Ishana disappear again into the crowd, she runs her eyes around the party, searching for Titian, before finally locating him, and swiftly moving to his side. After waiting for an appropriate pause in the conversation, she quickly steps in. "My humble apologies for interrupting this conversation Titian, but can I have a private word? I promise that it won't take up much more than a minute of your time?"

Ishana Tamanna |

Ishana heads directly for the corner where Axhammer sits, giving a cheery wave. Noticing several other people in close proximity, Ishana is courteous enough to not just bulldoze in and derail the existing conversation. Again, waiting until for a gap in the conversation, Ishana peers over at Axhammer. "Forgive the interruption gentlemen, but my mistress happened to notice a rather significant look being directed her way, and was slightly curious as to what it meant. Understandably, she is extremely busy tonight so she sent me over here to determine what the problem was. What was it that you wanted to discuss with Amavin, Axhammer?" she asks politely.

every time I come back there is 50+ posts that I have to read through! This is getting hard for me to keep up with :(
Dagit sighs, he's tired of all the political intrige and petty gossip. He came here to fight for his people, not enjoy the pleasures in a long dinner. He missed the days when he was on the road, the hard gritty dirt his bed and the dark his best friend.

And you haven't seen the battles yet! Did you sometime longed for a game that moved quickly, with a lot of participation? I did. :D

Aolis Greenborn |

Having paid his respects, getting that out of the way quickly, he scanned the room for anything interesting to him. As well as getting a sense of the room as it stood. He was looking for any foreigners, elves, or fey in particular. After all it was not the ones you knew and expected that played parts unforeseen and impactive.
Will take 10/20 if allowed, if not let me know, Perception +15 and Sense Motive +13.

Alysandra Janus |

Lord-Mayor Ioseph Sellenius seems to be lost in Alysandra's eyes.
"Of course my dear. I thank you for your kind words towards my city. Well, you must know we are VERY proud of our heritage, and won't let foreigners try and take over it, and our lands. But let's talk about more charming things... are you married?"
With a light laugh, Alysandra demurrs. "My Lord, my father would never give me permission to marry one of Restov - and I do not yet possess the wherewithal to defy him. And so, at least for the nonce, I am married to my job. If our endeavours result in success - great success, hopefully - perhaps we might revisit such a question in the future ... ? Alas, now I must go, for my brother - who is indeed a harsh taskmaster - is indicating he wishes my presence. I hope to see you again tomorrow - we shall speak to the king as soon as may be arranged, and send a messenger to you with what times are available to us, so that you may choose which is most convenient for you and make arrangements." With that - and taking back her hand as firmly as may be required - she drops into another deep curtsey before easing away to rejoin Coalhouse.
Coalhouse, for his turn, didn't make any such indication, but if there's one thing Alysandra knows how to do, it's how to get away from smarmy lecherous politicians. Still mildly irrtated over the overly-offensive Aldori's snickering laughter (and wouldn't he have been surprised with a broken nose or arm delivered right then), Coalhouse is still looking for Anando Verisisi.
Alysandra links her arm with her brother, and the two converse as they stroll; with black amusement, Aly notices the encounter between Lebeda and 'Lord' Christian on the one hand, and the Khavortorov brothers on the other, and steers Coalhouse close enough to catch an earful; Midnight, of course, how melodramatic. Spotting the king emerge from his converence with Amavin Zephyra, Alysandra asks a question; Coalhouse looks over, then shakes his head, suggesting something back. She nods, and the two part once more, Coalhouse to again hunt down the halfling Verisisi.
Aly, of course, knows how to approach royalty - which is to say, you see which way they're going, and position yourself so they'll encounter you naturally. And that's exactly what she does, dropping into a deep curtsey as the king nears - and holds it until the king acknowledges her and gives her permission to rise, which is the proper way to do such things....

Merus Lebeda |

Merus waits for an opportune moment to talk to Stefan.
"See what you can find about Michael's fighting style and dueling habits. That way I can see if there is anything I'm missing."

Let's say you take 20.
Aolis retreats himself, and stops participating from the "festivities", concentrating only in observing around the place.
First, he notices Anando Verisisi, the steward of His Majesty Rupert Surtova, receiving a visual cue from his liege lord, after which he approaches Axhammer Rocknose, Azrael the Avenger, Merus Lebeda, Coalhouse Porter and Rudolf Ferdinand Aldori III to give them a small note.Secondly, he sees a very nice looking serving woman eavesdropping some conversations...
She is dressed more conservatively than in her drawing.

And with plenty experience humiliating already dishonoroed husbands and fathers, mostly.

A LOT of experience. Their swords are magical, and famously so.
But Merus should be able to handle him.
Coalhouse Porter |

Anando Verisisi is also looking for Porthouse.
"Mister Porter, a pleasure. I have heard your business acumen is unparalleled. I, myself, am dedicated to the organizing tasks too."
He slides a piece of paper to Coalhouse while talking.
You can read the previous spoiler. In Coalhouse case it says "Alone" instead of "Leaders only".
Heh - Porthouse. No, not Porterhouse - Coal is not a steak. ;)
"My business acumen," Coalhouse replies with a wry smile, "is currently looking to have a word with His Majesty. I just decide what we need to do; she's the one whose contracts are so sharp they slice up anyone trying to cut the corners on them." He shakes the halfling's hand, but does not unfortunately manage to keep his eyebrows from going up as he feels the pressure of the cleverly-folded note against his palm. "I, ah, did want to inquire," he says, verbally stumbling a little as his brain tries to go in two directions at once in the unfamiliar social setting, "as to the timing for the final preparations and moving out. Has His Majesty made a decision as to when we'll be departing? There are a couple of possibilities I'd like to start talking about here in town - potential trading partners for the new kingdom, that sort of thing."
He does not, of course, open and read the paper right then and there, but instead makes the thing disappear - almost blatantly so, his hands open and gesturing freely with nothing inside them almost immediately after the halfling passes the note.
Diplomacy, to cover screwing THAT up: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Sleight of Hand, hiding the paper: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Amavin Zephyra |

Amavin glances around, checking to see who is nearby before she whispers quietly to Titian. "Just be aware, that the king has requested our presence 3 hours after midnight, 3 miles south of the camp. It appears that he wants to decide the future of the stolen lands there. Unfortunately, its leaders only so be sure to leave behind any followers you might be otherwise tempted to bring, at least for the moment."

Aolis Greenborn |

Aolis retreats himself, and stops participating from the "festivities", concentrating only in observing around the place.

Secondly, he sees a very nice looking serving woman eavesdropping some conversations...
She is dressed more conservatively than in her drawing.
Well it looked like he found something interesting. The pair make their way slowly to the serving woman, no need to rush or draw attention. He had a suspicion that the serving girl did not want that at all. Once he gets close enough he quietly but none the less directly speaks to her.
"Hear anything interesting my dear?"
He watches her carefully in her response. While showing nothing in return, after all he had not been caught acting strangely.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Azrael the Avenger |

Azrael makes a point to go find his fellow leaders of the Coursers. When he finds each one he greets them and passes them the note to read. "Apparently it's 'leaders only', so we can leave our cohorts behind to watch the camp or continue to mingle as needed. I'm not sure I can pull Hareth away from the young lady he's been chatting with."
After informing Christian, Aramil and Alexander, he'll go in search of Hareth. After he's been introduced to the young lady Hareth is speaking with and given her a little bow, he excuses them and pulls Hareth aside for a moment. "I have a meeting to attend this evening, can you keep an eye on the camp in my absence? I hate to take you away from more pleasant pursuits, but I need your eyes and ears among our followers this evening. Thank you, my friend."

Aramil Wellys |

Aramil nods as he reads the note Azrael hands him. "Porablum should be fine on her own for a bit. Depending on when we get out of here, I may have Bolys scout the terrain before our meeting. Regardless, I say we go back to camp in order to acquire our arms and armor. A short rest before heading out may be in order as well."
What is the king planning with a secret meeting in the wilds in the dark? We'll have to keep our guard up.
Grabbing a glass of wine and a canapé from a passing tray, Aramil turns back to his conversation with the nobles, thinking over the secret meeting later that night.

The interuptions were coming now back to back as they were talking, "Miss Ishana? Ah yes your Mistress, I was hoping to find some kind of common ground with her so as to make sure that neither of us would get in the others way or become antagonistic towards the other. There are certain people who fear the reputation of the Hellknights and I wanted to put that at ease. Though it seems that I have reached an accord with Ignatius Digenes Akritas about certain matters. If your Mistress would still like to speak over these things it should not be a problem to speak over dinner?
Another interuption?
Looking down at the paper he was given he cracked the seal, and opened it reading it, you see the tall [for a gnome] stop, then reread the entire letter not once but twice.
Whispering he remebers that Coalhouse was also given one, "So strange, I am unsure what this could mean...
Bowing to the gentlemen around, and the messenger he spoke up, "I am afraid that a situation has been brought to my attention, I would suggest you read that when you get a moment Coalhouse, especially if its the same as the one that I was given. I have to escuse myself from your fine company Gentlemen, I must speak to the others of my cohort. It was good speaking to each and every one of you, and I do so hope that we can speak more.
He offers his hand to each, as well as a bow at the shoulders before finding an opening to show off a hand singal to Alexander who hopped to the command.
Alexander's actions here in time line
Waiting for Dagit Downhill, Aolis Greenborn, Trawets Aarock, he simply nods to each, and hands the letter around the assembled group. Waiting for each to read the note before he speaks.

Alexander seeing the signal from across the room, gives a low bow to the Princess before extricating himself from the situation walking over to his father and getting his orders, with a simple salute he moves off.
"Preist Dagit, it seems that something has occurred that needs your presence with Sir Rocknose, if it would please you he needs you as soon is feasible for you. He however did say it was very important. After delivering his message he bows deeply to all around, making excuses that he has to deliver the message to others.

"Take a look at this letter and tell me what you think of it? I am not sure if its a trap though I would think it too early to make attempts on the lives of promiment members of the various groups in the area."
As stated he hands over the letter to Dagit to read, then to ruminate over.

Trawets Aarock |

Speaking to the high priests, "Thank you for letting me know of these issues. I won't try any of those types of magic other than in an emergency. It is good to know of the dangers. It seems I am needed elsewhere. Good evening to all of you."
Trawets then walks over to the rest of the Wanderers and reads the note when it is handed to him. "This is very unusual. And a bit vague. I think we all need to be on our guard and our best behavior. I'll make sure I'm magically protected before we leave the camp. I hope you are equally as prepared for anything."

Lord Christian D'Elagante |

Christian watches as Michael and Merus exchange word and set up a time for a duel. Once the pair separate..
"See what you can find about Michael's fighting style and dueling habits. That way I can see if there is anything I'm missing."
"Sure thing Merus. Not worried you bit off more than you can chew?"
If you would allow an old warhorse to interject some intel. Looking at merus, christian continues once a proper amount of time has elapsed and Merus gives his consent.
This is my observation of you two. You both are roughly the same height and you both will have roughly the same reach....many of the Khavortorov's are experts with the Aldori dueling sword. I do not know what you wield but I would stick with something that is about 40 inches or more. Now as to what magic he has enchanted in his weapon..I could not begin to tell you, but with these facts in mind..your reach and weapons are not an issue. What is an issue is the magic he has in his weapon and speed. Michael is a large man andKhavortorov are known to be hot tempered, use this to your advantage. It would not surprise me in the least if he jumped in head first to end this quick. The Aldori Swords are not design for strength as much as they are for the quickness of a person.
You are the dueling expert, I am not. This is my observation as a simple soldier.
Christian smiles softly and places his hand on the shoulder of merus.
Remember we are all after the same goal here...So be gentle with him.
Christian turns as he hears Azrael approaching
Azrael makes a point to go find his fellow leaders of the Coursers. When he finds each one he greets them and passes them the note to read. "Apparently it's 'leaders only', so we can leave our cohorts behind to watch the camp or continue to mingle as needed. I'm not sure I can pull Hareth away from the young lady he's been chatting with."
Christian reads the letter and then looks up at Azrael, his face set in a neutral tone. He turns and hands it to Merus.
Azrael this is Merus, Merus this is Azreal the Avenger, leader of The Restov Coursers. I knew that Merus was not committed to any group so I ask him to join us.When Merus finishes reading the note...
Very well, I will make all the appropriate arrangements. Meet at my tent at about 0130?
this could be a trap..ah f*$# #e, Damn it! and that Restov Pino was just starting to open up.
After Azrael leaves to continue finding the other members
Christian leans towards jasrella and whispers so that only the immediate group are able to hear.
Jasrella, after dinner please head back to camp...Exfil orders are confirmed for about 5 clicks south. Rally points are set to Sierra Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie at 2 clicks distance.
Jasrella nods...I will set the first response team to go at 0100.
Christian turns back to merus...
Would you care to join me as I make a few other arrangements... His smile has returned, but there is a underlying look of concern.
If merus joins
As they come up on Aramil, they see Azrael leaving.
Master Wellys, I apologize for interrupting your evening, I was hoping I could intrude on you revelry for just short bit..if I may.
Christian will lead Aramil away from the group of nobles. He will keep his voice low just enough that the group can only hear.
Master Wellys, this is Lord Merus Lebeda. Lord Lebeda, this is Master Wellys of The Restov Coursers. Merus does not know us yet, so I was able to convince him to join us on our little adventure. Christian laughs a little to calm his nerves and hopefully throw off anyone that is trying to listen in.
I just missed Azrael, so he showed you the note then? I feel we should meet at my tent around 0130 to discuss it and our next move.

"Trawets, make sure that your half of the camp is prepared in case this is in fact a trap, we will be at the mercy of our teams coming in if we are captures. Looking at Christian, he says, "Yes, Azrael did show me the note. I agree we should meet to discuss it." And a little bit more, it the need, and payment, arises. But as a lonely woman I fear for my safety, being always on the edge of being discovered and imprisoned."
She looks at Aolis mischievously.
"But I can feel the wind changing. I think maybe is time to mend my ways, and side with the good guys for a change. Maybe I can be useful to you as I was useful to them."

Aolis remains the same amused creature he had been from the start. He was still young, for an elf, yet he was just that and the charms of a woman were poison to reason and wisdom. As it stands you are an enemy, until you shed your old employers can your loyalty be counted. Even if that were not the case, to switch allegiances so causally. Is my concern not warranted, what will restrain you from doing the same to me and mine. Even if not now, what of the future. Still a step can be counted, so I give you the chance to earn your place. I give nothing more then the opportunity. What you do with it may well depend on where you find yourself, friend or foe."
He grabs her by the chin as if to seal things with a kiss but stops short. Moving off to the side, whispering in her ear.
"Prove yourself, I am sure such a resourceful woman like yourself can. Bring me proof of your intent and I will return the favor in turn by offering my support, perhaps even become a patron for your new position should you claim it. Until then, do not provoke me Maria."
He quickly rises, the amusement gone and a undertone of something dangerous but not threatening. At least not yet.
"You are done here tonight."
It disappears as quickly as it came, amusement creeping back into it's comfortable perch.
"I hope to see you again Miss Maria Borknok, as an ally and maybe more. Or if you choose, never again. As I would find having you as an enemy most distasteful yet such is life at times. Have a safe journey home."
He holds a arm out, inviting her to leave first.
Even with that low roll, that mod had me worried.

Maria smiles at him.
"But... I can't leave like this, you brought me here, and I need to get out... more flustered. After all, we both have a reputation to lose."
She approaches to embrace and kiss Aolis. I think the word is "disheveled".
Does Aolis complies with her request?

Aolis Greenborn |

Aolis smiles at the embrace, yet again stopping her from kissing him.
"My dear, I have many reputations. I long ago left their minding to others. Loss or gain is a matter of perspective."
With a word and a flick of his hand, he cast a novice spell to render her clothes thoroughly rumpled and warmed enough to make a jadwiga countess blush at the sensation.
"We magefolk have our tricks, in more ways then one. Maybe that is something else you may yet learn from me. Should you make the right choice."
Another wave has a similar yet less pronounced effect on his own clothes. He gives her a sidelong look.
"Clearly you were the aggressor, proper nobleman keep their manners even behind closed doors. That is one illusion I must keep for my family, otherwise I may have to wait until they die of old age again to avoid their endless scolding on the matter."
He is not that easy, well not with a snake he does not think he has fully charmed yet. :P

She makes a funny face while looking at her clothes...
"Boring! The non magical way is more entertaining."
And with that, she leaves the room.

Alysandra Janus |

I take it the king is ignoring Alysandra?

Coalhouse Porter |

Anando Verisisi ponders his answer.
" His Majesty wants to depart as soon as possible. Whatever you want to do in the city, better to do it as quickly as possible."
Coalhouse Porter acknowledges this with a bow. "Very well, sir; we simply await your word." And your packing, and the furniture, and, and, and. Ten o'clock at the earliest, Coalhouse judges as he bows and withdraws, starting to skirt the room and looking around it to see what he can see - unusual happenings, intense dealings, irate nobility, duels being set up, the usual hijinks for parties of this type.
Also essentially Taking 20 to eyeball the people and contents of the room; Perception +12, Sense Motive +14. Won't see Maria trying to snoop, but might be likely to see her and Aolis emerge (whether together or at different times) from the same area ... and looking mussed. ;D

Aolis Greenborn |

He could correct her about that little statement, but maybe when she was a little more trust worthy and less likely to poison him. Anyways he had a feeling she did not get rejected often and that was another "position" she liked to hold over others. Hopefully finding no purchase on him with her charms was all the more reason she would have to side with him and not go against his interest.
He gives it a moment before leaving the room. Making sure that Maria leaves as he instructed, she would do no more spying tonight as his mercy only went so far. Sacha joins him shortly.

Sacha Caligari |

She watches the woman come out, ruffled to put it mildly, and make her way. Before she could make her way to enter the room, Aolis comes out looking slightly ruffled. She knew better to think anything with the wizard was simple in their current setting but she did arch a eyebrow at him. To which he quietly explained what transpired while straightening his clothes by hand, she was sure he was leaving some things out. He always did. She replied in a low voice.
"Here I thought I was going to have to kill her. Depending on what she does I may get my chance after all."

Aolis Greenborn |

Having restored his person while filling Sacha in, on the contents of the conversation, not the actions mind you. He looked up at her reply.
"Honestly that's a bit much for a joke."
He studied her for a moment.
"So I guess I was right to calm you and set you apart. Well priorities my dear priorities. I did warn her to mind herself. She could be very helpful and I never turn down such chances without good reason. Hopefully for both our gains she makes the right choice. Otherwise...."
He looks over the crowd and picks out plenty of the guest known for dealing with bandits and their ilk in a more direct and bloody fashion.
"She may find herself on not only the wrong side of things but on the wrong side of a sword. It would be a waste."
He got another look from Sacha.
"A waste of her abilities, now I can't be trusted to think clearly. Where is that plate of pastries you had?"

Coalhouse sees Aolis and one of the servants come out from a room, but weirdly the girl goes directly to the exit, and after sticking her tongue to a Butler, exits the place.

I take it the king is ignoring Alysandra?
In reality it was not the king's fault but mine. I forgot to answer Alyssndra's action. Just as a note, not an excuse, is easier for me when the cohort's actions are under their own alias.
His majesty Rupert Surtova, breaking protocol, takes Alysandra's arm and helps her stand."Please stand, I am still not comfortable with all this ceremony and pomp."
