Lord Christian D'Elagante
Late night for a walk My lady, to what do we owe the pleasure of your visit? How is good old Porter these days...
As Christian straightens himself up his face becomes grim as he recognizes the half-orc that stands before him.
Elagar?
Christian gives her a look of concern before he pulls her into a huge hug. In the background he can hear his XO calling for a runner.
What is wrong, are you hurt. Christian pushes her back to arms length and looks her up and down.
I am fine Colonial. I had no where else to go. Elagar starts to cry as she collapses into Christians arms. Before she can speak about what happened, the sounds of heavy feet come to a stop before her.
Elagar, what are you doing here. Why are you not with the tribe. Grotgrub looks on as she starts to explain.
Christian looks to his XO and she responds with a simple nod, letting him know that she has anticipated his orders.
Father is dead, he died of the sickness. I have no mate and no male would claim me. The tribe banished me. I have been trying to find you for months now. She starts to cry all over again.
Elagar....little sister. I am no longer part of the tribe, I gave up those ways long ago. You are and always will be my family, but I can not go back to them Grotgrub turns to Christian Sir if I ma...
Christian interrupts his request with a simple.Son it is already done, she can stay as long as she like. Go an take care of things and let me know what it is that you will need. If it is within my power to grant I will make it happen. The two half orcs turn and walk off into the camp with the XO beside them.
Christian looks at the guards on duty and with a voice that is crisp, clear and filled with authority...
Not every half-orc works for Porter, remember that!
Hareth
@ the Cenobitic camp:
"I am a student of the esoteric myself. I come to introduce myself and learn what I can of your order. I have no wish to intrude, or cause anyone to break oaths, but I would know more, if such can be spoken of." Hareth speaks softly to the young monk, not wishing to disturb the silence any more than necessary.
Corsario... didn't see a reply to the above... just wondering what, if anything, Hareth might be able to learn about the Order.
Azrael the Avenger
Azrael finishes dressing for the fete and heads out to check the condition of the Coursers camp. He nods with satisfaction and thanks at Lord Christian's excellent defensive perimeter and guard stations. He sets out to visit each of the Coursers and their cohorts if possible to advise them of Aolis' letter, which read as follows:
"I hope this letter finds you well. While I am sure you are familiar with my family, I doubt you would be aware of one such as myself. The same can not be said of you and yours. So in the interest of saving myself embarrassment and you the awkwardness of knowing not who I am. I offer a small introduction with the hope of expanding our understanding of each other.
Sincerely,
Aolis Greenborn Madvyed"
While not as proud or flamboyant as some of the other camps and collections of tents, the Coursers compound was at least neat and well-defended. He salutes the patrol leaders casually as he passes them, and arrives first at Lord Christian d'Elegante's tent where he announces himself. "Lord Christian, 'tis I, Azrael... have you a moment to indulge me before dinner?"
If he is acknowledged, he will greet Christian and any followers and cohorts with him with a friendly smile. "I received this letter, I thought you and the others should all see it, and I needed a walk. Nice job with the patrols and guards you established. Are you ready to head to the dinner yet? I almost am... I'm gonna head out and show this letter to each of the others before dinner. Perhaps we should have a chat with this Aolis fellow at the dinner and pay our respects. He did go to the trouble of sending the letter after all."
"I've done a bit of checking, by the way. The rumors do seem to be true that there is a bounty on our heads... it was placed there by some kind of head of a bandit kingdom distinctly further away than the bandits we chased south into the Greenlands... A name was mentioned as well... Kressle. Not sure if that is the head of the bandits, or perhaps their agent... but someone to be on the alert for. Just thought you should know. Might want to make sure the guards are extra alert tonight."
He pulls inelegantly at the hem of his jerkin, not used to wearing such finery. "I must admit these clothes don't really suit me... I'd rather wear something simpler and more comfortable. Ah well, we do what we must, eh? Well, if there's nothing else, I'll go show this note to Aramil and Alexander before the dinner begins."
He slips out of Christian's tent and heads over to see Aramil and shows him the same note. "Ah, good Aramil, you look fine tonight. Ready for dinner? This sounds like it's going to be a bit of an organized chaos, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I thought you should know this note arrived this afternoon from Aolis Medvyed of the Righteous Wanderers. " He hands the note over for Aramil to read.
"Also, I've confirmed the rumors about the bounty on us for our activities in clearing bandits from the area. Do be on alert tonight, and advise your followers to be the same. A name was mentioned too. 'Kressle'. If you hear it again, do be wary and please let us all know what you hear regarding it. I will see you later at the dinner. I've got to go show the letter to Alexander as well." Unless Aramil stops him and has more to say, he slips out and goes to Alexander's tent.
At Alexander's tent, he greets the huntsman with a friendly smile... "How's hunting been, Alex? I'm sure you're as uncomfortable as I am in these party clothes. Or maybe not? Anyway, we got this letter from Aolis Medvyed, the mysterious mage of the Righteous Wanderers. Thought you might want to read it and join the rest of us in paying our respects to him at the dinner tonight. We really should mingle and get to know all who've been gathered for this event, but since he sent the letter, a special effort should be made I think."
He turns to leave, and then turns back... "I almost forgot. I've discovered the rumor about bounties on our heads is no mere rumor. You might want to be cautious... and if you hear the name Kressle, which was mentioned in association with the bounty, find out whatever you can about who or what this might refer to. See you later at dinner!"
Azrael goes back to his own area in search of Hareth who had gone to visit the Cenobitic Order of monks to learn what he could about them. assuming Hareth is back by now and dressing for dinner.., Azrael visits a neighboring tent to his own... "Hareth, you back yet?"
"Aye," says a soft voice, almost a growl "Come on in, Ray. I'm afraid I don't have appropriate clothes for such an event tonight. I'm going to feel very out of place." Hareth stands in the middle of the tent, wearing his traveling leathers in rust and brown, mostly dusty from the road. He brushes more dust from his trewse and sighs. "Perhaps I should skip the dinner, eh?"
"No such chance, my friend. Look... You wear these, and I will keep my clothes as I purchased them for tonight... " As he says this, he removes a pair of sleeves from his arms and hands them over to Hareth. When he takes them off, his clothes change slightly, the colors altering a bit, although the basic cut and design do not change. "When you put these on, you can will your clothing to appear any way you want it to. You'll be as well dressed as you'd like. No, no... no need to protest, I'll not hear a word of it. Now get ready for dinner, Harry. Oh, and watch your back, we've got bounties on our heads it seems." He walks out before Hareth can give back the sleeves...
sorry for the wall o' text... TLDR condensed version: Azrael checks the camp defenses and advises each of the Restov Coursers about the letter from Aolis and the bounty on their heads.
Jocasta Crunch
I'm going to start using spoilers for different locations. I think it'll keep things a bit more coherent.
"It is SUCH an honor to meet you. Is that Azrael the Avenger over there?? Can I meet him too??" Seems the young woman - though she looks like she's only just become a young woman - has more than a little case of hero-worship when it comes to the Restov Coursers!!
Merus Lebeda
Merus strolled through the camps as they prepared for their expeditions looking with a critical eye at the various levels of competence.
"So, do you still intend to crash the party?" his older companion asked.
"Of course, Stefan." Replied Merus, "To miss such an opportunity is unthinkable. It just remains to be seen which group will gain the benefit of our company. I think the Coursers will be our best bet. However, given the reputation of their leader, I think we will be best served to keep some of the details of your past to ourselves."
Stefan snorted, "You've got that right! He seems to lack some perspective in that area. I'm surprised you aren't leaning towards the Aldori camp."
Merus laughed.
"That probably wouldn't work well. A couple of them are almost as good as me and would probably try to prove something. Besides, that seems to be a purely Khavortorov family affair. I doubt I'd be that welcome. No, the Coursers are our best fit. I will get ready for the dinner. You scout out the various groups and see what details you can find."
Stefan bowed sarcastically and said, "As you command Lord Lebeda."
"Oh do stop that. We don't need to stir things up quite yet. Wait until we have a firm commitment."
Ignatius Digenes Akritas
Having the shift to arrange for daily meals, Ignatius leaves early accompanied by his cohorts to the city outskirts in order to find game, returning with a couple of small boars and a stag, sufficient to feed the large group of more than forty people in the "Blessed Hospitallers" camp and anyone in need of a warm plate. Leaving the complicated part of cooking to his group, Ignatius retires into his tent to attend his midday prayers, while preparing his only formal clothing, a military uniform used on important ceremonies back on his paladin order for tonight elegant dinner.
Not a fan of fancy dinners and elaborate meals, he hopes a calm night will help him pass unseen, avoiding the complicated politics storming in Brevoy, while actively beginning the journey into the river-lands with the right foot, and a good support in Restov. His train of though however is interrupted by Omadurk, calling him from outside the tent.
Food is ready, we have begun distributing between those followers still at camp and some travelers that passed nearby, guards of Lord Titian disagreed with us letting them inside our compound, so we moved the cauldron to the limits of the tents, the cleric Emilio is awake sadly, stormed right to the front of the line before tormenting the guards with his crazy talk of life having no meaning.
Good, keep an eye on the boys, and make sure Emilio doesn't get into much trouble, what about the volunteers that went in town?
Worried about his companion more "serious" approach to guarding the base camp , Ignatius makes a mental note to speak with him.
They have returned. They found little people in need for a meal to bring along. This seems to be a very prosperous city, the main church to Erastil doesn't need repair nor any of the minor temples Used to the work of an adviser both in his life as a brigand and in the monastery, Omadurk easily resumes the events of the day into a quick resume, solving minor affairs himself.
It´s Restov after all, not one of the biggest cities in the country for nothing. Anything else?
We have a distinguished guest, she is currently at the main tent with lady Amavin.
Must be from another of the exploration groups. With everyone gathered outside the city, it's normal for everyone to start gathering Intel on the other groups, we might be supporting each other's back for quite some time after we leave. I trust Lady Amavin´s wisdom as the "face" of our group
Yet in Omadurk's silence, the paladin understands his council to remain an active part in the group.
Never the less, I will go present myself once I'm done with the uniform, as it would be un-polite not to greet them properly.
Thanks for the report brother
And with a salute Omadurk leaves to join the rest of Ignatius followers

Seeing Ignatius move around, Titian moves forward with Ninefinger in company. "I hope the camp is to your liking. I thought we go to Amavin´s tent, she has some guest we should meet, too. Before she continues with her nonsense of being leader, and most important, or anything her whims take her. I have already sent Fra Ezekiel to meet with some others, and I think Ninefinger sent some to gather food for tonight. I took the liberty to order a roasted bull or something. We should give our men the chance to have some time to feast! As long as the guards stay sharp!" After a nod of Ninefinger Titian smiles."I hope this afair is over soon, my back is restless to be on the road again! Shall we go and meet the messanger?"
Alysandra Janus
She pauses, still having not taken a seat, and regards the Calistrian's state. "About to do your hair? If you like, we can speak as you continue, or I could be of assistance." If it is accepted, she will follow Amavin to whatever she is using as a dressing table, there to assist her with hair styling; if not, she gives a slight bow and takes a seat. Either way, she continues.
"I am here on behalf of my organization, the International Businessmen. We are at present focused primarily on cartage; we have been selected to handle the baggage train of His Majesty Rupert Surtova (first of his name). Even with such an undertaking, however, we have some additional space available, should a group such as the Hospitallers be in need of assistance in transplanting themselves entirely; such an organization is, after all, more than just what you take into the field."
Pausing for a moment as she focusses on a couple of pinnings (or, should she not be doing that, perhaps considers her word choice or the Hospitallers' history), she continues. "Of particular concern for my company, at least for the upcoming journey, is external security. I know you have made your name in part from defending caravans against bandits; it is the hope of both myself and my superior that the Blessed Hospitallers continue in such a vein in the near future; though the IB," and here she flicks a bit of road dust off from her lapel, from just underneath a small clasp there that has a B penetrated with an I, "has been selected for this task, we are in no way associated with the Surtovas; we are merely," and this is said with a hint of self-deprecation, "the most efficient, trustworthy, and reliable teamsters available.
"Or," she adds thoughtfully, "unavailable; I know of two groups who might've ... well, never mind." She gives Amavin a quick, impish smile. "Trust me, business politics is even more difficult and dangerous than national politics. Keeping a reputation for honesty and diligence is difficult, especially when it's true.
"Whatever the case, my lady, I and my employer would like it known to the Hospitallers that we entirely support you and your aims, and hope that we can be of service to you, in both the general sense of acting as your transport specialists in the future, and in the personal sense of ... acting as your secure and high-threat transport specialists in the future." Alysandra grins, an infectious sort of thing. "Both my brother and I are experienced with assisting, how shall we call them, adventurers and dungeon-delvers?? Better than two pack mules each, we are."
Hearing movement at the entrance to Amavin's tent, she turns as Ignatius and Titian are announced. "Sir Stagson; Sir Akritas," she greets the males properly. "My name is Alysandra Janus, of the International Businessmen. I have just been speaking to your associate about the potential for cooperation between my company and your organization."
Titian Stagson
|
Bowing to Alysandra and, with just a hint of a smile to the "LADY OF Calistrea"."I am very happy to meet you. I have heard of your company and I think we, or at least myself can come to a mutual agreement. While my people are very good at handling the items we carry with us, we are supposed to do our duty in the stolen lands and safe supply ways are paramount!"
Alysandra Janus
"However, I am certainly glad to hear you too consider good roads and safe passage as a core concern. I do indeed hope that our organizations can come to a mutually profitable relationship - in a fiscal manner as well as on ethical and moral grounds." Again that smile, as though she's told a secret that must bring joy to those who have heard it. "As I was recently telling Lady Amavin, it is exceedingly difficult to be, as the IB is, efficient and comptetitive in the cutthroat world of business while yet remaining forthright and honest. It is this reputation - and particularly our high level of personal and professional integrity - that we desire to bring to the new lands and, with the assistance of organizations led by such as yourselves," and here she gives a nod of courtesy to both Amavin and Ignatius, "make honesty, integrity, and all honorable practices the established business conventions of the new kingdom."
Amavin Zephyra
Amavin smiles politely. "I'm pleased to meet you Miss Janus, and for your kind offer to assist me in my personal styling. No doubt you would be skilled but I have things well in hand, the audience was merely unexpected, thats all".
Lightly crossing her legs slightly, Amavin gives Alysandra her full attention during her business proposal, purely out of respectful politeness, listening quietly. When the women has completed her proposal, and Amavin feels it would no longer be rude to multitask, she slightly takes a hairbrush from her dressing table, and lightly brushes, idly musing the suggestion over. Every now and again, a different scent shifts through the air, a results of her Prestidigitation spell mimicking the various perfumes that she owns, without the bother of wasting the actual contents of a physical bottom - at least until she had found a suitable selection that worked with her image. As such, she remains slightly occupied while she lets Titian speak.
When a suitable pause came up in the conversation, Amavin adjusts her position slightly. "I have a minor question. I think its wonderful that we appear to have similar goals, it certainly aids in achieving unity. I was wondering however, what it is that you and your brother bring to the table over other alternatives. Would it be the aforementioned reliability or something else? I am of course, aware that you have a royal client already, something that would obviously be a key priority above all else, and I'd be concerned about you taking further clients that you might not be able to handle in addition to other commitments. I only ask, because personally, I wouldn't know much about Cartage as I would typically travel as light as I can."
Alysandra Janus
"Naturally, we wish to grow - quickly, to be certain, but with all conscientiousness for our values, to make certain we do not ..." She trails off for a moment, then emphasises her next words, "take on board the sort of employee who would ruin not only our reputation, but our honor. What we would desire from the Blessed Hospitallers is both the chance to assist in your major movements, should you have the need to shift your own headquarters, as well as reliable protection in our day-to-day activities."
Then Alysandra grins. "What certainly sets us apart from our possible competition will be that first, we are there; our understanding is that most transportation needs in the Stolen Lands are covered by single individuals, and those mostly small traders. Second, when your people - by which I mean your leadership, the three of you -" she gestures to take in Ignatius, Titian, and Amavin "- and Master Elliomander, as well as your chief lieutenants Ishana, Micah, Omadurk, and ..." She hesitates, pointing at Titian, "I'm sorry, I can never remember the name of the priest who accompanies you. In any case, when you have need to venture into more significantly dangerous circumstances, and yet require a significant amount of equipage, Master Porter and I are well-positioned to be able to accompany you to provide that carrying capacity while still being able to keep our skin intact; no other cartage company currently in Brevoy, much less the Stolen Lands, is able to make, much less follow through, on that claim.
"Simply put, madame, we are capable of handling all of the needs you might have when it comes to the service we provide, no matter the location or issue."
Amavin Zephyra
Amavin lightly drums her free hand on the table, before glancing in the direction of Titian and Ignatius. "Does anyone have any further questions or comments? Any issue's the either of you two might have with this proposal. Personally, I might be persuaded to remain in favour, but then again, out of all of us here, cartage probably holds the least bit of personal interest to me, so my opinion hold as much weight on this topic.".
While waiting for the others to reply, Amavin allows her eyes to drift away slightly from Alysandra, and instead focus lightly on the mirror as she continues brushing, just to see how her attempts were coming along.
Titian Stagson
|
With a smile Titian handwaves the confession that his Lieutnant was not known to her as unimportant and continues.
"Oh, I think your offer is a good one. You are correct, that my entourage is not made to do transportation. We are self suffiant, in the way that we can take of our needs. Not our wants! And there will be many wants in the days to come. From the most mundane to the exotic. Having someone, who specialises in it and guarantess its delivery, at a fair price, is very interesting. Let me say I am very interested, but I need to hear what our glorious king has to say before finalizing any contracts!"
Alysandra Janus
With another one of those joyous smiles, Alysandra replies, "His Majesty is certain to make offers or demands; kings, I am told, do that sort of thing. What I wish to make certain of, however, is that the Hospitallers are, in principle, willing to do business with the IB."
She hesitates, then says in an attitude of apology, "I did not, however, say we guarantee delivery; while we specialize in transportation, we are only mortal, and the vagaries of the road are issues with which all who travel them must deal. Please observe, I have expressed the hope that you and your people would assist with the more militant of such elements. We are more prepared than most others to handle the other sorts of issues, and with dispatch, that's all."
Amavin Zephyra
Amavin spots the minor insult, or jab at her capabilities, but chooses to let it go, especially as redhead makes an apologetic gesture. Instead, she arches a single eyebrow in amusement. "Oh, do I look like someone that can easily lug around large sacks of gold?" she remarks, gesturing at her body type with her slim build rather obvious, before she continues onwards. "I think...unless my colleges undisputedly disagree, that in principle, I see no current barrier between doing business together in the future, with the way things currently are. If an initial response was all that was required at this moment in time, then please feel free to give our best to the rest of your organisation when you feel the need to return to them. Regarding your concerns about the dangers of transportation, know that your initial hunch was correct, the issue itself is something our group would be happy safeguarding in the future, as a matter of principle."
Aramil Wellys
When Azrael shows him the letter.
Examining the letter Azrael shows him, he says, "Well, I suppose we shall be meeting this Aolis Greenborn at the dinner tonight. Rumor has it he has journeyed quite far in his travels. I'm sure Porablum will be thrilled to pry every story from him she can."
Listening to Azrael discuss the bounty, Aramil nods and says, "Well, perhaps we shall have cause to hunt for and locate this bandit kingdom, convincing them of the error of their ways. Regardless, we should keep an eye out for this Kressle. If she is attempting to organize the bandits we've driven south, she could cause us trouble. If we can, we should see if we can capture her and get more information as to the location of this bandit kingdom. Well done, my friend. The more we know for our journey, the better." Belting on his dueling sword, he says, "I am off to meet Lord Christian. We should all depart together for the feast, to show we are united." With that, he and Azrael exit the tent, Azrael to find Alexander, and himself to find Lord Christian.
Porablum Flapzit
Returning to the camp, having been unable to learn as much as she wanted to from the Surtovas, Porablum headed to her tent to get ready for the soiree. She passed Lord Christian speaking with a half-orc, but did not interrupt his conversation. She saw Aramil and stopped to give him the report, and then went to get ready.

To Master Rudolf Ferdinand Aldori
It is with no small surprise and interest that word has reached me concerning your recent relocation efforts. I can only say that I am pleased such a renown and masterful swordsman such as yourself has chosen to tackle a new land and perhaps herald a second coming of greatness for your prestigious school and art. I would like to bid you welcome, good luck, and an offer of correspondence if not personal meeting.
Sincerely,
Aolis Greenborn Madvyed
Diplomacy = 35
A young page takes the letter, and promise to deliver it to "His Excellence Rudolf Ferdinand Aldori III". No answer arrives before dinner.
To The Cenobitic Order
I would like to welcome you to these new lands. It is my hope that your order and your god Irori will find a suitable place. Not only for yourselves but for your teachings as well. Seeking perfection is always a noble pursuit and a appreciation of knowledge is as well. Perhaps the second is more a personal opinion, yet I would believe it true. I offer more then welcome but a prospect of correspondence as well. Their are many paths to self perfection, some may escape the sight of one while being clear to another.
Sincerely,
Aolis Greenborn Madvyed
The monk that receives the letter seem baffled. He thanks for it, and stores it in his robe. No answer either.
Just a side note, a Diplomacy check "by letter" would have a big penalty, and a small effect in any case. But, in the case of Rudolf Ferdinand Aldori III, he got the message.

Lida Rose will be accompanied by Delga Meekat; Lida, being an elegant little thing, actually can do some active rumor-sifting:
Diplomacy = 11
Burl Stickbum will be going with Quentin Quarrel. Quarrel is a little charming, but otherwise unskilled at the rumor-sifting game, but he's out there as the sharpest ear in the book (as it were), so he's out there to listen and see what people are talking about:
Diplomacy = 9
KS: Local = 9
Perception = 15
A lot of people talking about the push into the Stolen Lands. And nothing more. They are not well seen, nor liked. In fact they return to camp after noticing a half dozen men following them at a distance, with clubs in their hands.
Jocasta Crunch, that fangirl of the Restov Coursers, will be basically out to identify who among the lieutenants and cadre (basically the cohorts and the followers) is going to be the one to be able to make deals on 'moving their stuff'. While usually a force like this will be able to move their own gear, a major shift like this - transplanting to an entirely new area - means a lot more luggage has to get moved, and that means someone needs to move it. She's out to identify who that is, who can make the hiring calls, and get a sense of the group's internal dynamics.
Her secondary goal is to seduce (or be quite willingly seduced by) one or three of the Coursers. (Hey, she may be 'half-orc ugly', but that's the only ugly she is. Smart, strong, agile ... and willing!! ;D )
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
KS: Local: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
No need to roll, that needs to be solved "in game" with the other players, if any of them "takes the bait".
Ghent investigates the Aldori swordlords, checks to see if he knows anyone amongst their porters and teamsters, basically trying to make some contacts for future work:
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
KS: Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
They have zero interest in hiring "Issian trash". They don't have the means and experience for the job ahead, but it would be VERY HARD for them to hire the same guys that carry Rupert Surtovas' baggage.
Finally, Freiya Fjar-Bana-Högg will try to find a member of the Cenobitics who is both a) female and b) willing to talk even a little, essentially to simply find out who to talk to if the monks would care to have a steady supply of necessities by someone who will respect their apparent desire for isolation. A KS: Religion roll might be appropriate, reading the differences in their robes and the like.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (17) - 2 = 15
KS: Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
She don't find anyone willing to talk in length. They are courteous, but brief in their exchanges. More or less are females, but as they all dress the same and are bald, is hard (but not impossible) to distinguish them. They seem, religiously speaking, and for lack of other word, fanatics.
Alysandra, obviously, is contacting the Blessed Hospitallers.
And for gits and shiggles:
Perform: Oratory: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
To be resolved between players.

The girl seems impressed at Hareth, with a slight blush while she talks with her eyes down, looking at the ground.
"I fear there is not much to learn from us, and we know nothing from the outside world. I think you are the first of your... kind... I have ever spoken to. You are so different to my brothers in here. And don't worry about oaths, those are ours, and nobody can make us break them if we don't want to."| Lord Christian D'Elagante |
"No," comes a voice from beyond the camp's 'gate', "but there's a few of us." A half-orc female - different, if you know what you're looking for, and if you do know what you're looking for in this case, with a definite, strong 'family resemblance' to Coalhouse - approaches the gate. "He's a pain in the @ss," says the young woman, "but he gets the job done, and that's what counts, right? Hi, I'm Jocasta - Jocasta Crunch. Coalhouse is my older brother." She walks right between the guards on duty (if they allow it) and sticks her hand out at Christian. "And you're Christian the Elegant.
Christian turns again to look out from his own front gate for the second time this night. Seeing another half-orc coming into view of the torches.
Now this is one of Porters men..or women?seeing that Jocasta is coming towards him, he waves off the guards and allows her to approach him. His smile is genuine and warm. He takes her offered hand and gentle kisses her fingers.
This night is getting better and better. Good evening to you Lady Jocasta, I am honored by your presence. To what do I owe this visit.
Coalhouse said you were quick with a punch, but you lacked in follow-through on it. I said that with two feet of steel on the end of a staff, you didn't NEED to be able to break bones with your fist.
Christian laughs a bit
He does does he?? I like to think that I am anything but quick and I tend to prefer my hands to be doing other things besides punching. Is that Azrael the Avenger over there?? Can I meet him too??" Seems the young woman - though she looks like she's only just become a young woman - has more than a little case of hero-worship when it comes to the Restov Coursers!!
Christian looks in the direction of Azrael and then back to Jocasta
Lady Jocasta it would be my pleasure to introduce you to Azrael but I am not sure how long this introduction will last as it appears that my friend has his mind set on matters of importance. As Azrael approaches christian will introduce the two.
Azrael may I please introduce you to the Lovely Lady Jocasta. She is the younger sister of the esteemed Coalhouse Porter contingent. Lady Jocasta this is Azrael, also know as Azrael the Avenger.
after some polite chit chat the two men will retire to their camp to talk of private matters. Begging Jocasta to forgive them.
Once at his personal tent
Lord Azrael, please come in and make yourself at home. Care for a drink to clear the dust from your walk? Christian extends his hand and shakes with a firm grip, making sure to look the man in the eyes. A show of respect.
To what do I owe this pleasure..
I received this letter, I thought you and the others should all see it, and I needed a walk.Nice job with the patrols and guards you established. Are you ready to head to the dinner yet? I almost am... I'm gonna head out and show this letter to each of the others before dinner. Perhaps we should have a chat with this Aolis fellow at the dinner and pay our respects. He did go to the trouble of sending the letter after all.
Christian takes the letter and reads it. Not even two words in he frowns and looks back at Azrael
Not too original is he. I got the same letter in my personal quarters. I have never met the elf and only know him by reputation. He knows his stuff and comes highly recommended.Christian continues to listen
Thank you. The city provides a buffer and an aura of protection that we can not afford to be trapped into thinking that we are safe. These defenses will do for now at least.
Dinner, is it that late already. I have lots of details to finish up before dinner. I will meet you at the gates to the city on time. I will have to be in several places at once but I always manage...and yes I would like to meet this elf finally
I've done a bit of checking, by the way. Might want to make sure the guards are extra alert tonight.
Thanks for the intel. The camp is on full alert already so we should be fine, but just in case I will make sure all is in order before I leave for the dinner.
I must admit these clothes don't really suit me... I'd rather wear something simpler and more comfortable. Ah well, we do what we must, eh? Well, if there's nothing else, I'll go show this note to Aramil and Alexander before the dinner begins.
The clothes do not make the man. It is what guides his heart that counts. Christian stand and extends his hand again. Be careful on your travels. If you wish, I can assign a squad from the 2nd wing to escort you to your destination. It is no problem...I have taken the liberty to reinforce my unit.
Christian's face becomes worried
I sent word to Alexander. He and his men have not been seen anywhere. He does know the lands well and is probably going to come in following some animal path that no one else sees. It is just with the news of Kressle, I am concerned.
Christian will walk Azrael to the gates and see him on his way.

"But first I have some things I need you to do. First and Foremost I need you to send a message to the Temples of Abadar, Asmodius, Iomedae, Iroi, Torag. I would like to lead ceremonies at each temple if it is permitted. Secondly I need you to send the Dwarven Brothers to the Dagit the Dragon Slayer, see if he needs anything. Third, send in cousin Igthar Rocknose, I have some messages to send him with once that's done, you can be off with whatever it is you wish to do. Though I do expect you to take Axbeak Rocknose, and Snow with you. Those two animals will without a doubt keep you safe in the city. Leave me I have much to pray for."
The priest at the temples inform that they regret to deny the request. They don't let unknowns lead the services. But he can offer an offering, and they will be more than happy to organize a service for you group. With they leading it.
Axbeak and Snow are not welcomed in the city. Did you really think they were going to let them wander around in there?

Bachu nods to guard. "My name is Bachu of Soralyon. I have not been summoned no. I travel down south with the Righteous Wanderers and have come to make sure there is an open line of communication between our groups. If your sergeant or lieutenant is available I will speak to him."
The guards smile.
"The four swords are not around. They are whoring, as usual. You can look for them in the city if you want to talk to them."They won't let him pass, or give him information.

Ishana allowed herself to look slightly flustered, as if being called over was the most exciting thing that had ever happened in her life, before heading in the direction of the dark haired man, sitting in a chair nearby.
"Marriage is so overrated" she remarks in an uninterested tone while simultaneously flashing the man a slight smile, before making an obvious glance over at the table where the arm wrestle had taken place and raising her eyebrows slightly. "That's certainly some impressive arm strength you showed us before....let me guess, are you one of those heavy labourers around here?" she inquires, deliberately understating the man's real background so as to feign ignorance. She's careful to phrase the response in a tone of light curiosity to avoid offence. After waiting a suitable pause, Ishana grants a light laugh before making an elegant gesture"Oh, excuse me where would be my manners. I'm Ishana, an elf from Kyonin, and you might be...?"
"Ralph Khavortorov, at your feet!"
The other 3 laugh maniacally."A laborer he is! He carries my **** around!"
Then comes a tirade of insults and double entendres that I can't type on a "family friendly" RPG forum. All in good fun, of course.
Ralph Khavortorov smiles at Ishana.
"Forget my relatives, they don't know how to behave before a lady. We can go upstairs to have a more private place to talk."
He smiles charmingly at her, and winks.

Looking for a map.
There are no "current" maps for the Stolen Lands available. There are some, but they are old, and probably inaccurate.
Ishana Tamanna
Ishana keeps her "naive" face on throughout the tirade of double entendres and insults and lightly pats Ralph's arm in both mock concern at being verbally ganged up on, as well as making the gesture a supportive one. She isn't entirely displeased by how things were going so far, getting one of the swords isolated would make questioning so much easier. At the moment, she was quite happy for the man to think his seduction technique was working flawlessly whereas actually she currently held little interest in letting things get too far out of hand.
"Forgive me Ralph, your relatives just seem to be full of hot air...I tend to dislike a few loudmouths lacking in charm. I'm perfectly happy going somewhere quieter to resume our conversation if you like" she remarks, glaring at the other three men in irritation.

- Anything else?

She's happy discussing the possibility of an alliance or alternatively, any secrets Ralph might know about anyone significant in tonight's party that Amavin could use.Again, happy to roleplay this out however you like. If I can get away with rolling Perform (Dance) to get that type of information I will, but I think thats really reaching. Just including a substitute roll below just in case

Ignatius Digenes Akritas
Holding his laughter without hiding his amusement at being announced as “Sir Akritas” by Titian men, Ignatius does a small reverence while calmly speaking. Greetings madam. Ignatius, champion of Iomedae at your service.
After introducing himself he remains quiet, standing next to the tent exit while focusing his attention on their guest, letting his comrades do the talking as he evaluates the half-elf’s proposal.
Indeed continues Ignatius at Amavin’s affirmation you may rest assured that our forces will aid in the protection of your transports to the best of our capabilities, however to the best of my knowledge our group would be poor customers for a service like yours. We are not looking for a particular profit out of our actions, at least not in in the form of material goods. Speaking for my men, we come from a religious order where we are taught not to seek or have treasure beyond that we need to live, let alone overburden us. hearing the honest attitude, Ignatius decides he doesn’t need to see the half-elf’s heart, instead choosing to trust, and after a small pause continues
That being said, running a kingdom is a different matter altogether, as lord Titian mentioned. Having proper supply lines and trusty people moving on them will be fundamental, as such I believe we are also interested in a mutual agreement with your company to secure a proper trade route. I hope the details can be arranged as soon as possible, with the consensus of my companions of course.
Azrael the Avenger
Azrael, with a large golden dog at his side, greets Jocasta with a wide friendly smile when they are introduced. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Jocasta. Your brother's exploits are well-known in Restov of course. This is Corwin, my.. .companion." he says, introducing the dog who steps forward to have his head scratched. "I am so pleased you dropped by today... Is there special reason for your visit, or are you just being neighborly?" He will make casual chit-chat with her and Christian for a bit, then make his excuses and go talk privately with Christian.
Once their chat is complete and he goes to make his exit, he says "I'll be fine for the short walk to my own tent, but I thank you for the offer."
I thought we were in one group compound anyway, so our tents wouldn't be that far apart regardless... if the guards Christian set out are only for his own tents, then Azrael will have to order his own followers to patrol and stand watches as well... I might have misunderstood, I figured Christian was using all our followers to do one massive guard schedule.
Bachu
Bachu bows to the guard, "Thank you but I don't think I'll follow them in their....pursuits. Have a good evening." He then turns and walks away.
Well that didn't work. Where to now? I should probably return to camp and ensure Trawets is there getting ready or I will have to track him down. Again.
Upon returning to the tent he sees the open letter and reads it and nods.
Looks like I'll have to track him down.
Bachu wanders through town and finds Trawets in the last place he expected. Meditating in the plaza outside the location of the dinner. Fully dressed for the evening.
Well I'll be. Wonders never cease. He is early and ready.

Merus tossed a bundle to Stefan.
"There you go, some proper attire for tonight."
Catching the package, Stefan smirked.
"Ah, so I finally have become respectable?"
Merus laughed.
"Let's not ahead of ourselves. Also, no weapons, I mean that, Stefan."
Frowning, Stefan replied, "That hardly seems fair. There will be mages there, are they having there hands bound and mouths gagged? Surely a simple knife for eating is allowed?"
"Getting this far was a chore as it is, we cannot afford to muck it up now. Best behavior, Stefan, and NO weapons." Merus answered.

Titian wears an emerald green satin doublet over silver pantaloons and spit polished to mirror sheen riding boots. A belt with silver wire holds the doublet and a matching white cloak. A holy symbol of Erastil made of silver is around his neck and his only jewelery. His personal crest sewn into the doublet and an emerald green beret is on his head.

That depends who you ask. He (Ralph Khavortorov) think he has a very "high level" thing to give her. I am going to say Ishana doesn't think so much of it.
She's angling for information on topics like: Goals, Allies, Plans and so on. She's happy discussing the possibility of an alliance or alternatively, any secrets Ralph might know about anyone significant in tonight's party that Amavin could use.

Knowing who he is, the mapmaker gives him the map for free, with a plead for him not to trust it very much.
In game terms, no, it won't be useful at all.50 GP seems good. Fancy clothes.
What about a silver or gold holy symbol to go with it?

Turning at the sound of Porablum's voice, Aramil looks at her and says, "You're right, I forgot. Come and tell me what you've found while I put it away."
With a glimmer in her eye, the Gnome follows him into his tent. As he puts the sword safely in a chest, she said, "I have made the acquaintance of Rade Surtova. She found my singing lovely, and perhaps later I shall be able to speak with her if she attends the feast."
Aramil nodded and said, "Befriending his daughter may prove to be beneficial. If you can, please talk more with her tonight. You've done well."
Porablum exited the tent and went to get ready, while Aramil walked towards Lord Christian's tent.

Ishana Tamanna
O.k Corsario, here's the plan
Firstly, Ishana's already revealed information about herself to him. He knows her name, where shes from. Ishana isn't opposed to giving him more information about herself, but she probably undervalues her position. She can tell him she is a Calistrian worshiper, that information is probably not something she cares too much about hiding, but Ralph doesn't need to know how (relatively) high ranking she is. For instance, I could say something along the lines of "I have a casual position working for Amavin, Calistrian Lady of Thunder" or so on. Even if Ralph eventually figures it out, its ok, because this comes into how to manipulate this situation
Fishing:
So currently, Ishana is effectively playing the role of a naive Lady, easily seduced. This is deliberate, because she is hoping she can drag whatever this is out, whereas if she was playing the role of, (say), a whore, there's far less reason for her to meet with Ralph again. Ishana's actual goal is to allow Ralphs ego and "high level" thing to think that he is firmly in control - that he has someone so interested in him, he could call upon them for future favours in future. Remembering that currently, the two factions are not enemies or allies, and Ishana is relying on Ralph to see the advantages of having an acquaintance that Ralph believes would do anything for him.
So, I'm happy for him to know minor bits of personal information from Ishana, and in return she will probably push to get a bit more information from him and the plans his group might be having, and regarding the current situation, it wouldn't be hard for me to plead for a 'raincheck' with having to get ready for the dinner. I can play up the naivety that at the moment, I wanted a private talk, with an option for something else later. Really, I'm just trying to make him think he has me twisted around his finger, now or in the future and is smart enough to exploit that, whereas Ishana's currently just manipulating this.

Ok, got it...
Ishana, fending off Ralph Khavortorov advances, mentions:
"I have a casual position working for Amavin, Calistrian Lady of Thunder"
Ralph stops, and looks at her:
"Of the Blessed Hospitallers?!? And I thought you were interested in me because of my charm! So you are a spy, eh?"
He keeps a wide and charming smile, and seems even more relaxed than before.
"But our bosses being enemies doesn't mean we can be friends, my dear. I am sure we can accomodate some love between the intrigue and danger. We are going to be in those Stolen Lands together, anyway."
He approaches her, his lips almost touching hers, his arms around her waist.
"So what do you want to know? And try to keep it personal..."
His eyes gleam in the room dim light.
Ishana Tamanna
Ishana lets him keep his arm(s) around her waist, aware that its a slightly possessive gesture and is at ease with that, although she pouts slightly at his request at being friends, not wanting to agree too quickly.
"Ralph, thats a wonderful idea but if Amavin found out I could get in so much trouble..." she remarks, before tilting her head back slightly, thinking about her question. "Hmm, here's my question, Amavin thinks you four are all nothing but troublemakers", she begins, putting a disbelieving emphasis on the word 'troublemakers'. "So, my question would be why your boss would want troublemakers such as yourselves involved in the Stolen Lands...and actually why does your boss even dislike my boss anyway?"
Ishana lets the question hang in the air, putting as little pressure on him to respond as she can, before giving a happy little smile. "O.K, that was my question, what's your one?"

"Well, Rudolf knows he can count on us to solve any problem! My brother and cousins, with me, can deal with any bandit or monster we find on the Stolen Lands! We are troublemakers, but we can solve troubles, too! Yes, we sometimes do it by causing more trouble, but life would be boring without them! About Rudolf don't liking your mistress, don't take it personal, he doesn't like anyone, not even us!"
He smiles while taking Ishana's cheek with his hands, gently.
"As for me, I only want one thing. And one thing only. A magic kiss, from you..."
Ishana Tamanna
Must.Resist.Urge.For.Shocking.Grasp.Through.Lips
Ishana tilts her head to one side for a moment, thinking it over for a moment. "Fine, you get a kiss, but only on the cheek because I said question and not request" she remarks in mock disapproval, before planting a chaste kiss on the man's cheek and then pulling away.
"Well, its been wonderful crossing words today Ralph, and maybe someday you can stun me with your swordplay. Sadly, Amavin will probably kill me if I show up to the party looking dishevelled, and I need time to get ready. Maybe I'll see you later Sir" she finishes, with a mischievous grin.
Ralph can get in a few final words if he wants, but because I don't want to hold us all up Corsario, you can consider both Amavin and Ishana having finished up "pre dinner" activities and both are probably getting ready / finished. I can do a minor pre dinner rp with Amavin where Ishana gives her a heads up into whats happening, and Ishana still needs to get dressed and do her hair, etc etc but you can consider me largely ready if you want us to move onto the dinner.
Alysandra Janus
"Well, then," she says as she rises to her feet, "this has been a most profitable," she shoots a smile at Ignatius, "meeting. I thank you all for your courtesy in seeing me, and I hope we can work closely together in the future. Lady Zephyra, I hope to have your counsel in particular when it comes time to put together the ... nuts and bolts of the laws and regulations for such endeavours. I say this because while the priests of Abadar are certain to ensure the tightness of the laws, one such as you will make sure there is flexibility to them as well; one cannot have structure without order, but one cannot have life without a bit of chaos, eh?" Making her way to the entrance to the tent, she turns and gives a bow. "I bid you all a good afternoon; I shall no doubt see you all at the Mayor's party." And with that, she takes her leave.
When she gets there, she seeks out Coalhouse, finding him in conversation with Ghent, with Freiya Fjar-Bana-Högg standing at a few paces' seperation. She goes to the girl, and gestures her to take a few more steps away from the males. "Well?"
Freiya shakes her head slightly, almost as if in apology. "They're quiet, ma'am. A lot of females. Insular; they shave their heads. Nothing distinguishing in their clothing. Very ..." She considers her words, then decides to use, "obsessive."
"Hmmm." Alysandra looks over at Ghent's broad gestures to Coalhouse, and the latter's cross-armed thoughtfulness as he worries at a tusk. "Uptight?"
"Fanatic."
Alysandra's eyebrows go up at the dwarf maiden's use of the term. "Really. Well. I wonder how that is going to play out. We'll keep an eye on them, but if that's how they are, I don't see how Coal could get a foot into that door. Thank you, Freiya." She always made it a specific point to thank the girl.
Freiya gave a slight bow, and moved away.
