Sounds interesting! There is another Hells Rebels recruitment going on as well, so I am going to throw down my character for that one here as well. (Actually I have 2 characters to propose).
I have always wanted to create an effective sword and board character that fights using a tower shield, but with little success as they never got off the ground :(
So here I am going to build up a human Phanlax Fighter wielding a common weapon (probably either a longsword or shortspear) in one hand and a tower shield in the other.
He will be one of the guards and indeed was there the day that Barzillai burnt down the opera house.
He was appalled that the governing body would condone such an act and ashamed of his and the guards involvement.
Those events have very much left doubt in his mind about the integrity of house Thrune and even such thoughts as dissertation have crept into his head. Maybe events during this next protest might just push him over the edge?
But I have a few questions and aspects about this character that I need to discuss with you first :)
I also have not played this campaign before and only read the primer.
Edit: Big question. I am now confused. I know that there was a fire, I know something about the opera house, and I know that Barzillai did some questionable things to get into power. How exactly did he get into power? (Or rather, what do we as characters know about him getting into power?)
I just mostly want to be "attached" and therefore feel remorse for my part in Barzillai coming to power.
1a: were the nobles and/or guards involved in the plot? My understanding is that Barzillai forcefully took command, but was the guard involved? Was the Government involved?
2: The protest. One idea I had was that during the protest I am one of the guards that keeps watch and is on duty during the protest, then, when things get ugly during it (I am assuming), I either end up being separated from the normal guard (ie, im with the other PCs) or I am "on break" at that moment, and therefore in the crowd.
I understand that this is quite off the rails as far as what is expected so I wanted to ask you about it before hand. What would most likely happen is that I am simply off duty that day and am just one of the citizens at the protest, as this is much easier to handle and manage :)
3: Daily work. One of the things that I am anticipating (at least initially) is that I am still one of the guard, even after I join up with the rebels. Something like Guard by day, Rebel by night. Would this work? Or would I have to desert my post immediately when I join the rebels.
3a: Working. As a guard, it is expected for me to be on guard duty at least some of the time :/ How do you want to go about this? One idea is that I work during the day and be a rebel during the night (but I dont really know how exactly the game expects this) and then start taking fatigue penalties because of lack of sleep :) The other idea I had was that my work schedule is extremely flexible (cause mcguffin) and that allows me to play the game as intended without having to worry about shifts or anything.
4: being an Informant: Another idea I had was that If I am a guard that has joined the rebels in secret is that I would have access to the guard house and know about different things like raids and whatnot. I would have a chance to get insider information. That and being a guard means that I am allowed outside at night during Martial Law, cause duty. so that could be exploited as well :)
5: I read somewhere, and now I cant figure out where, but Im pretty sure you need things like licenses to carry silver or other such legislation. Could I purchase those in advance out of my starting wealth because I am a guard? Am I just getting a different game mixed up here?
With all of these, NO is an acceptable answer and I can easily change things around as needed. My hope is to be a guard who was involved (just slightly) and continues to be a guard but secretly joins up with the rebellion. He then continues to be a guard for as long as possible while supporting the rebels with information, a guards uniform and credentials, ect. Eventually he will have to give up his post and go underground as a full fledged rebel if/when he becomes too well known.
Well thats the idea :)
Stats:
Str 18
Dex 10
Con 14
Int 13
Wis 10
Cha 12
He is a strong and healthy lad, yet he also has a head on his shoulders.
Not min/maxed at all... I wanted Str and Con because I am a fighter, but I also wanted Int and Cha because of the skills I envision a guardsman would need :(
Campaign Trait
Either Fed up Citizen: I would count myself among the Law abiding citizens and indeed, I am even a guard sworn to uphold such laws. Yet with recent events I cant help but feel enough is enough. As much as it pains me to admit, the law of the land is now manifestly and obviously not correct, and something must be done to oppose this misuse of power. Sadly that might even mean aligning myself to a rebel faction such as the Silver Ravens. Has it really come to this?
+1 to Disguise checks and it is a Class Skill. +1 trait bonus to saves against mind affecting effects.
or Natural Born Leader I have always found myself directing others while I work and indeed have taken command of my squadmates while we were in a pinch and unable to take orders from above on more then 1 occasion. While I am not the most well liked or charismatic (not really in the job description for a guard) I do have a head on my shoulders and am able to intelligently direct a squad (rare for a guardsman) and the Higher Ups have noticed my leadership.
Treat you Charisma score as 14 when determining how many teams you can manage and for the bonus you add to your managed teams actions.
Reason to Protest: Meeting a Contact.
My superiors have always warned me to keep an eye out for any suspicious activities or anyone suspected of harboring rebellious thoughts. In fact there is even a wanted list in the hall back in the castle!
Recently I have received a tip of such a person who will be in attendance of the protest, a male human wearing one black leather glove on his right hand and no glove at all on the left. I havent yet reported this to my supervisors, and I am having second thoughts about whether I even should. Maybe I will meet this person first and make my decision then.
+2 to Perception and Sense Motive checks made during the protest.
Background SKills: My background skills will be Profession: Guard (obviously) and Linguistics, as I get orders from above and it is required that I am able to determine that they are legit and not forged (the reverse might just come in handy!).
Will do a lot more later, Im getting pretty tired :/
More later ^-^
Boon 1: 1d30 ⇒ 13 You can You can use Variant Multiclassing (Pathfinder Unchained) without sacrificing feats.
Boon 2: 1d30 ⇒ 16 You can be from Numeria, allowing you to take archetypes, classes and feats from the technology guide, or be a gunslinger.
Well I dont care to be from Numeria, as I intend to be a Kintargo native so I guess I better read up on Variant Multiclassing ^-^ I had wanted to give my fighter more skills and class skills (was planning on doing so with traits, or hoping to get the Extra Traits or Extra stat (int)) but this might do the trick better :)
Edit: Also, just realized that Septimus is also building a human fighter guard :(
Edit, Edit:
Jessibel Have you ever seen an Inquisitor with Bonded Mind? It's one of the most fun combos I've seen.
HA! Nice! I have been trying hard to figure out how to create a low level telepath and a low level teleporter and this just about creates the telepath XD
I will have to remember that :)

Oh ya, To everyone on Alignment.
I plan on playing an LG guardsman, however he is a guardsman who has some serious doubts about the current regime, significant enough that he even goes and joins up with a rebellious group intent on opposing the government. During this time he will be giving it his all to support the rebellion quietly.
However if you guys start murdering citizens and robing them of their possessions right in front of me I (The player) am going to have to try pretty hard to come up with his reasonings to justify such behavior. He supports rebellion, not anarchy!
I am not a paladin, and I wont fall. But neither are we the Court of Hells Dregs. Does this work with you guys?
Also, also
Boons:
I currently have 13 and 16 for my boons.
Being from Numeria and Variant Mutliclassing.
Would anyone be willing to trade? Extra traits or extra feat would be awesome! I wanna shore up my skills if at all possible :(

Shiri Dog-Catcher |

Alright, here's thunderbeard's character. Crunch in alias. Might try to find a better avatar, Strix are hard.
I wrote Kiri into backstory regardless (she'd just be an NPC if we're not both in the game). Went with wing-clipped and cautious brawler, so the effect is the same whether I switch boons or just give them up.
But one year later, the tribe fought a larger battle against Cheliax at Tokarai Springs. In the midst of the fighting, Shiri found himself face to face with an injured Chelish solider—a boy no older than himself, and, still barely able to hold his own knife, simply protected himself in fear until another warrior swooped by and ended the crippled soldier’s life. In the aftermath of victory, Shiri was brought before the elders of his tribe, accused of desertion and cowardice, and made no attempt to defend himself, simply repeating that he did not want to kill a wounded enemy. Frustrated by the absence of his father’s noted warrior spirit, the elders sentenced Shiri to a ritual humiliation and beating; in this, too, he refused to defend himself or admit wrong, simply crying for hours as his wings were gradually bruised and broken, his tormenters demanding that he simply needed to show a killer’s spirit. And so, his wings crippled and his ideals shattered, Shiri began his long trek out of the mountains of Devil’s Peak, in self-imposed exile.
The other tribes he met in the mountains were not forgiving. Shiri’s broken wings marked him as an outcast, a coward, or simply a social burden; he would be handed a sack of smoked fish, then asked to leave before daybreak. Pezzack held nothing but unfiltered hostility for a Strix on the road; but eventually the young wanderer made his way to Kintargo, a city whose populace was more curious, and whose rare Strix held very different values.
For the most part, he has worked small jobs, as a day-laborer and animal trapper. He’s acquired a bit of a taste for the city’s rats, and with his keen eyes and quick hands made some coin snatching vermin from attics or finding lost cats and dogs. In his free time, hunts pigeons on rooftops, occasionally gliding short distances. And, of course, practicing with the elemental knack he’s learned—a bit of old-fashioned sky magic—but, without formal training, he’s found it easiest to manifest his minor skill through physical movements. The Windspire tribe was, for the most part, a close-knit family, and Shiri has found support from his city-born cousin Kiri, a forward-thinking Strix who has allowed Shiri to sleep on a free mattress in his spare room for the past two years.
But things have begun to change in the weeks since Barzillai Thrune came to Kintargo. With his nocturnal ease, light step and practice at delivering non-lethal strikes, Shiri is exceptional at catching small animals. And with the mayor’s third proclamation, the young Strix has re-branded himself as one of Kintargo’s most talented dog-catchers, bringing in three to five animals a day. Suddenly, he is the one buying means for his friends and relatives, and not vice-versa. He suspects, of course, that this streak of luck might not last much longer.
-Melee DPS striker, able to hit single targets with physical or energy damage
-Eventual battlefield control, with (at later levels) the ability to boost allies' speed and attack bonus, as well as knocking enemies back with punches or flinging them into each other
-Unique scouting/secret society talents; at level 2 will be able to cast the awesome Whispering Wind at will, and will later get at-will magical flight, short-range scrying and invisibility.

@Malyssa,
It strikes me at least as plausible that Domitius might recognize Jessibel as one of the performers from the Opera House (but if she was ever on stage with Shensen, Dom would just have thought of her as "second one from the left"). Do you think there's any credible way she'd know more about the big tattooed half-orc standing guard outside the Monteneros' box?
EDIT: DM, I don't think I put it in my post about Domitius last night, but currently my reason for going to the protest would be "Looking For My Idol" (Shensen, natch). That could change depending on any tie-ins that develop with other submissions.

Oo! I like the idea of a Munavri from the Sightless Sea who is in Kintago on a trip to learn about the culture of the surface world. If being a Munavri is too powerful I'll instead use the re-roll for extra traits.

Hotaru of the Society |

@Gobbo Horde: Unless someone made a rather significant change to their story, the Opera House hasn't burned down.
The short version is that several places did burn down. I'm not sure which buildings would be considered spoilers, so I'll leave that off. As for 'How did he come into power', he's a Thrune. One of his family members is the Queen, so when things started going crazy, Barzillai wound up out in Kintargo, sent by his cousin, to keep order. Among other things.
The primary things you would know is that people have a ton of different reasons for Thrune to not be accepted, and the first scene should explain several. They are extremely numerous, starting with the ridiculous laws, and just getting worse from there.
@DeadJim: Vermin Heart honestly doesn't affect me all that much. Probably not at all. I was talking about the Tiefling boon if I took the feat. Depending on how it would work determines what I'd go with.

Have you ever seen an Inquisitor with Bonded Mind? It's one of the most fun combos I've seen.
Otherwise, I'd recommend going Duettist Bard, with a Valet familiar, IF you want to have fun with teamwork feats. It's actually a really fun to play combo, enough to make taking more teamwork feats possible worthwhile.
Inquisitor + Bonded Mind does sound like it would equal big fun. Or paired with an investigator. Ooh...or a gambler!
Thanks for the heads-up on the Duettist. If she could get an actual valet as a familiar, Jessi would probably jump at it. Giving up Bardic Knowledge would hurt, though, as Jessibel (mistakenly) believes she's something of a know-it-all.
A pirate Duettist with a monkey Valet is now brewing in my head as a potential character somewhere down the road.

Absolutely, or from just about any entertainment venue in the city (she's a triple-threat, with Perform [act, dance, & sing]). Though Jessi's spoiled, I don't intend to play her as snobby, so she'd be likely to say a few kind words to a big half-orc who showed an affection for Shensen and/or her works. And it's entirely possible that the Aulamaxa and Monteneros families might be allies if the M's aren't Pro-Thrune.
Fellow Noble Scion Leonardo Vashnarstill is the only other character that jumps out at me as being a possible connection (even though his family's interests don't seem to coincide with Jessi's), as my bard is interested in digging into the arson at the Victocora estate and the lessened role of the Court of Coin.
Jessibel's best chance at making another connection still seems to be her unchosen teamwork feat from her boon. She's not above occasionally slumming, so this feat could link her to a rogue or other character outside her economic and social circle.

In my head I'd been figuring the Montenero family as being fairly pro-Thrune. Now I'm wondering, do even the more "enlightened" families of Kintargo still practice slavery? I made up the Montenero family name just for the sake of making something up, but heck, Domitius could be with the Aulamaxa family, even be Jess' bodyguard, especially if she's traipsing about town into Gorum-knows-what kind of places. In such a scenario, he might not have the seething bonfire of contempt for his owners brewing that I'm currently imagining.
LMK what you think.

I've done some research on Kintargo and its noble families (the Aulamaxas, in particular) to make Jessibel the best character she can be and think I recall reading that slaves were an everyday thing in Kintargo. I know that I briefly considered buying a slave with Jessi's starting gold.
As for whether or not the Monteneros are pro-Thrune, that shouldn't have been much of an issue until the past week's madness in Kintargo--pretty sure the noble families worked together in some manner or another in spite of varying loyalties.

Okay then, I'll put it this way: if you'd like a bodyguard, I could certainly rewrite Domitius to being owned by the Aulamaxas instead of the Montenero family. If so, then that would change his official motive for being at the protest to "Tagging Along" with Jessibel (but Dom would still be quite keen to see Shensen if that's at all possible). I think it also lets him have a bit more exposure to the Opera House, as he'd see and hear more hanging backstage keeping an eye on you than he would guarding a box seat.
Chew it over and let me know what you think. Barring that, Jess might just know Dom on sight as a Montenero family slave. (Who knows, maybe the M's have a daughter who ran in similar circles as Jessibel...?)

On the one hand, having a bad-ass half-orc bodyguard would rock! On the other, that would also enable Jessibel to be more irresponsible, knowing that she has such tough back-up if someone takes issue with what she says/does.
Of more concern, though, I'd be worried that such a role would be limiting to Domitius (as a slave, would he have to follow Jessi's every order or would he think and act of his own accord?).
I think your second idea might work better, as I could change the 'frenemy' in my backstory to Sabrina Montenero with minimal fallout (or Dom could be a slave of the Sarini family just as easily).

Redblade8 |

I can assure you that, no matter whose family Domitius starts this story as the property of, the days of his taking orders unquestioningly are coming to a rapid end... :)
That said, I think it's easy enough to make it out that Dom is Sabrina Montenero's bodyguard, and that over the past few weeks, Domitius has more and more frequently been staring at Miss Sabrina's back, and activating his Studied Target ability, just wishing the moment was right...
Assuming that still works for you, I think we've got something there. I hope to see you in Aria Park! (If we hold to what we've worked out here, "Looking For My Idol" would still be Dom's reason for being at the park.)

Alright, got my alias made and updated my backstory to include Shiri into it. I gotta admit, if both of us get in combat could get really interesting, especially when our abilities would split into somewhat different specialties, me at range, Shiri not so at range, could be a lot of fun. All of the new info is in the alias as is my entire character sheet.

![]() |

Some of the more enlightened families might practice manumission of slaves as a regular practice, so a character could be functionally an indentured servant of another, with the expectation that faithful service would be rewarded eventually with freedom.
This would be the more lawful neutral type of slavery.

thunderbeard |

Kintargo also isn't a very lawful city, save for the Chelish conquerers. A noble family with more ties to Cheliax would likely be pro-slavery; one with ties and aspirations to historically free Kintargo would probably not. There's a reason the Bellflower Network is so strong in Kintargo, despite its distance from Andoran.

To Protest the Government: You gain a +2 bonus on all Bluff and Intimidate checks made during the protest itself.
Elven Immunities: Half-elves are immune to magic sleep effects and gain a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
Sociable: Half-elves are skilled at charming others and recovering from faux pas. If half-elves with this racial trait attempt to change a creature's attitude with a Diplomacy check and fail by 5 or more, they can try to influence the creature a second time even if 24 hours have not passed. This racial trait replaces the adaptability racial trait.
Keen Senses: Half-elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception checks.
Low-Light Vision: Half-elves can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
Elf Blood: Half-elves count as both elves and humans for any effect related to race.
Arcane Training: Half-elves occasionally seek tutoring to help them master the magic in their blood. Half-elves with this racial trait have only one favored class, and it must be an arcane spellcasting class. They can use spell trigger and spell completion items for their favored class as if one level higher (or as a 1st-level character if they have no levels in that class). This racial trait replaces the multitalented racial trait.
Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell with a verbal component and no somatic or material component, you treat your caster level as if it were one higher.
Beguiling Voice (Ex): At 1st level, you can use the sound of your voice to lull a target creature into taking no action. This ability acts as the daze spell, except it is language-dependent, has a duration of 1 round, and affects a living creature whose Hit Dice do not exceed your sorcerer level. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.
Lydia's parents were casual followers of Shelyn, paying their respects to the goddess responsible for the artforms that funded their business. As Lydia aged they were forced to pay more serious attention to her, as Lydia manifested arcane powers that she attributed to the goddess. Though lacking in clerical powers, to Lydia it was obvious that her uniquely lyrical style of arcane casting was just as much of a blessing from Shelyn as any cure spell. Lydia elected to devote her life to the Eternal Rose, becoming one of her priestesses in the local Kintargo temple.
All continued to be well, for a time, as Lydia was accepted into the priesthood. She was hardly the only member without divine casting, and her passion for the arts and the goddess granted her a warm welcome among her new peers. To be a Shelynite is to be a practitioner of the arts, and Lydia was granted many opportunities to perform and watch others perform. It was at this time that Lydia became acquainted with Shensen. Beautiful, graceful, and with a voice of an angel Shensen was much of what Lydia dreamed to be. Lydia found herself finding ever more reasons to pay a visit to each of her operatic performances, absorbing her every word; Lydia's fellow priests would sometimes joke that they were going to lose her to Sarenrae if Shensen were to ever call on her. Lydia's devotion to Shelyn would not be shaken by anything, of course, but that definitely did not stop her from thinking about it.
Lydia's pleasant and comfortable life came into its first trial quite abruptly. Lydia had never cared much for the politics of Cheliax, figuring that the problems of Cheliax were Cheliax's and separating Kintargo from the major cities entirely. Her opinions changed swiftly when Thrune instituted martial law in her city and her beloved Shensen lost the Silver Star. At first, Lydia tempered her anger; Shensen herself was surely fine, and the Sarenrites seeking asylum at her temple needed her help first. Surely Shensen would turn up in due time. But as days passed and her idol was nowhere to be found while the Sarenrite priests whispered about foul play in the destruction of their shrine, Lydia inevitably lost patience. Hearing rumors of an organized protest in Aria Park, Lydia chose to make her mark on Kintargo politics as Shensen had so often asked her and others like her to do. Gathering a group of like-minded priests of both Shelynite and Sarenrite faith, she left, determined to learn the truth behind the Silver Star fire.
For potential joint applications Lydia would be amicable and possibly familiar with any followers of Shelyn or Sarenrae. There's definitely room for a priest of Shelyn to take the following along reason to protest out of a desire to ensure Lydia doesn't let her new found hot-headedness get the better of her.

I went back and forth on a character concept, before I realized I had an old character that, with a bit of a rewrite, would be perfect for Hell's Rebels. I can rewrite her. Better. Faster. Less angsty. *.*
Basic concept is a Tiefling Evangelist/Herald Caller Cleric of Shelyn, Diva in Training background: will get to work straight away!
By the way, anyone wants an Alkenstar boon for Pew-pewing for trading? A VMC or extra combat feat would be super cool!

Smashed Sam |

Mourge40k here, and Crunchy bits of my character are (more or less) done! Still have to select spells for Sam here, but other than that it just comes down to her backstory.
For everyone's reference in the meantime: Sam breaks things just by being around them, and always sees the worst possible way for a situation to turn out. It's just her little "gift" from the gods. She would have been a great recipe for a bad guy, if it weren't for the fact that her grandmother made damn sure to get her out of Nidal and into Cheliax (dangerous in it's own right, considering she's a demon-spawn tiefling). Good old grammy was an ardent Shelynite, and taught her that just because she is inherently destructive that doesn't mean that she can't still make the world a better place. Add in some applied lessons on how to "break" wounds with her power, as well as a heavy love for opera and plays in general, and Sam didn't turn out too bad. After all, nothing to make you appreciate the beauty in everything like knowing that at any moment it can be shattered (at least superficially so).

Arachnofiend |

Now that I look at it, writing that way wasn't clear: I'm deciding if I want to go the buffer or summoner route, the "/" was meant as "or", sorry. <.< (If those two could have been put together it would have been a little crazy :P)
Summoning is one of the two things WoP casters are actually pretty good at (the other being blasting) so that's definitely something I will be doing if selected.

Smashed Sam |

Smashed Sam: Are you thinking of adding Breaker Barbarian and going into Rage Prophet? Because that's how you REALLY break things.
It's a possibility, I have to admit. However, Sam may just wind up being a really odd sort of support character, thanks to the spell list she has to draw from. But Breaker Barb would tie in great with her main curse.
EDIT: Or maybe a Primalist Abyssal Bloodrager. That'd work too.

I really like the Wrecker curse for a casting Oracle; casters don't care if their weapons are broken and if you stick a martial with it via Oracle's Burden that REALLY hurts.
True on all accounts! It also fits in really well flavor-wise with the Apocalypse mystery. Add in the fact that Dual-Cursed will give her both an excellent support option (Misfortune is awesome) and Oracle's Burden for free, and it just becomes icing on the wreckage.

It's got some huge drawbacks though. Oracles tend to be very high-AC casters, and having to deal with a constantly broken shield makes that tough. You also use twice as many charges to cast from wands or staves, attempt all Craft and most Profession checks at -2 (and can never benefit from Masterwork Thieves' tools), and have a weapon-use penalty that gives you a really hard time taking advantage of your curse's sunder bonuses.
It definitely fits a theme the character is going for, which is fine. But I'd put it right after wolf-scarred and clouded vision as one of the least-optimal choices for pretty much any oracle.

Davina Eradon Aasimar Investigator (Infiltrator Archtype)
Her family has a long history of being writers, historians and lecturers. She currently lives in the family home with her parents, and a few cousins, aunts and uncles. The family lives fairly comfortably because many of them are noted lecturers and successful writers.
The deep dark family secret is their ancestors were members of the Silver Ravens in the old days. As children they grew up on stories of the ravens exploits. Davina has a keen interest in the history of secret societies. She covers her interest by writing mysteries. When investigating the rumors and the histories she can always say she’s researching her next book. She carries a small notebook and pen with her at all times to take notes for story ideas.
Davina is 40 old though she looks about 25. She was widowed 10 years ago. She married young to a much older man. The union was a happy one until he passed away. She has one daughter who is 16 and away at boarding school. Most people who dont know them well think they are sisters.
A devout follower of Sheyln she’s finding the religious restrictions put on worship in Kontargo chafing and worrying. The Martial Law brought by Brazillie Thrune has her looking harder for information on the Silver Ravens. She’s trying hard to locate anyone who may know where to find them.
Davina is a bit of a social butterfly. She enjoys attending historical plays, the opera, readings, and lectures. Because she’s an Aasimar she draws people with her beauty and grace.
Physically she’s tall and slender with very pale skin. She has ruby red hair worn in a tight neat chignon to downplay the gem colored red. Her emerald green eyes are hidden behind spectacles. She tries to pass for human as much as possible. Her elegance shines through in everything she does. She carries a parasol at all times as protection from the sun. Note: I’d like my sword cane when I purchase one to look like a parasol instead of a cane.

Full character bio and description will have to be done in the AM, for this character. I've only one computer and my spawn are using it for homework and typing on this tablet is an exercise in frustration.
Be is also not a local, she was born in the Worldwound and only recently escaped, having arrived here after running as far as she could.
For character link ups, persons of interest for her would be
Strong female role models
Powerful leader personalities
Religious people of good deities, Shelyn being highest on the list
A short character snapshot of her would: a rescue pit bull, forced to fight and claw for survival and scraps. Now out of that, she would much rather gather belly rubs and ear scratchs, but she needs help to get to that point.

I'm doing a changeling. Since they are usually disguised as humans, a good tie in, is that some of you know her secret. She will also be a sorcerer that wants to use her magic for good, as she wants magic users to have a good reputation not a bad one, as she is a sorcerer. She doesn't want to be discriminated against for being a magic user or part witch, so a few people may say to her, there is some trouble going down her, help us out and show the world there are some good witches out there. While not a witch class, she is a changeling and a sorcerer.
She could tie in to Bebaushie, since she would be a strong female role model. And a tie in to characters that have acceptance instead of discrimination. She is also from that special city, and considering it has guns, she also has an interest in technology and engineering, as it is what she grew up on. She could tie into characters with the same interest. Ie. Alchemists, other guns slinger. Or smart characters, that can say hey, I can tell you the mechanics of the bridge and how much weight it will hold.

Waddya know, Lydia happens to be all three of those things. It'd be pretty easy for them to get to know each other; Bebaushie comes to town and seeks asylum at the temple to Shelyn, Lydia would certainly be among those helping her get on her feet.

Okay, thinking about submitting Saturday Daud, a human Id Rager with the Anger emotional focus.
Born into dreary and dead Ustalav under the shadow of the Tyrant, Saturday was an oddity from the beginning, even when compared to other members of the Daud family. As a baby he would laugh and cry and look on in wonder as babes are apt to do until certain relatives would come into his view. Whatever he had been up to till that point would promptly cease as he turned a silent, hate-filled glare upon the instigator.
To receive such a malevolent greeting from an infant rightly unsettled most who met him, who in turn quickly tried to convince his parents to take him to a priest. But as he exhibited no other odd, let alone harmful, behavior his parents decided to postpone any such visitations till he was older, presuming of course the episodes continued.
They did.
Growing into a small child Saturday would laugh and play as children did until certain relatives were nearby. Whereupon he would become quite and still as he watched them. After many such incidents he no longer glared as he stared at his family members, or rather, he learned not to.
He learned a great many things, things children should learn, things children should not learn, and things no human should ever have to learn. His days growing up in a land of only slightly managed nightmares were spent as a child would spend them in any other area of the world, save for the random bouts of oddity and aloofness that seemed to shrink away as he got older. They only hid themselves better as they watched the Dauds go about their lives.
And then, as children have, he had a birthday. More specifically, a birthday party upon reaching his fifth year. A party that much more than normal amount of his extended family were able to attend. A more than normal amount of Dauds all in one place for one person for one very special day.
Having not had any quiet episodes or moods for awhile his parents and siblings took his silence and meekness this day for simple nervousness at being around so many people for the first time. At being around so many Dauds for the first time. Everyone was happy, as people at parties tend to be, save for the quiet Saturday.
The cousins and siblings were playing, as cousins and siblings did, and the adults were drinking and reminiscing, as adults did. And Saturday was simply quiet. Quiet, and watching. Watching all the Dauds around him who had been alive a lot longer than him, had done more than him, had done much more harm, had caused much more misery than him.
Finally everyone gathered together to eat the birthday feast, and eat they did, save for Saturday, who only watched and looked. Watched the Dauds. And looked at something else. He kept quiet as he watched till one uncle who had had too much drink started to tell stories from his youth. Proud accomplishments for him to remember, and crude nightmares for others to fear. He went on and on talking and remembering as Saturday watched and watched, and glared as the older man leaned closer to tell him a story specifically.
Whatever horror or crudeness was to come out of the man’s mouth never came, instead replaced with a quick gurgle as he found his eye and brain pierced by one of the feast knives Saturday had been watching earlier. Watching and waiting as the man talked, watching and waiting until he got close enough. People screamed, as people who witness a murder tend to do. And Saturday was finally able to start eating his neglected birthday meal.
As in birth, as in death there is an exchange of souls between this world and the next along the river eternal. But sometimes the streams that feed into the much larger river get clogged, or detritus leftover from the river’s uncountable travelers get left behind. Left behind with the urge to scream but possessing no mouth.
And the Dauds had made a great many people scream, had sent many travelers along the river, or had made them wish they had. And all this, this misery, this hopelessness, this hate, it all flowed around this accursed family thick as smog. Unable to do anything this hateful shadow loomed over the Dauds for many years, until one day they found a mouth, or rather, a place to rest. Neither going nor leaving this vehemence lingered till it felt something other than endless hate. A void that wasn't there before called out to the mindless spite, a space to be to filled, a place to go.
What it found was a frail soul just coming into this world, still being made within his mother’s womb. At first a trickle the fragments of the souls and emotions soon began to pour into the new place to go, as if someone had pulled the stopper out of an invisible drain that sucked all the hate down. They found comfort here, in their new home. They had eyes that could see and a mouth that could scream and hands that could hold things. Do things. They were happy here.
They also had no quarrels with priest of the life and death Goddess nor her priests and priestesses, and so they weren’t able to find them when Saturday’s parents took him to the dark chapel the day after his birthday. But they did not like the Dauds, and the Dauds found them plenty, in the form of a quiet boy who simply watched, and waited. Waited for a Daud to go out hunting for deer. Waited for another to fall asleep. Waited for one more to ask Saturday what he was doing all alone out in the middle of the night. ”I’m not alone.” was the last thing that Daud ever heard.
His parents, afraid for themselves and their family as much as they were for their own son, couldn't bring themselves to surrender him to whatever fate the other side had set in motion for him, love and hate being the same side of the coin. And so, with tears and worry and the slightest glimpse of hope, they sent him away. Far, far away.
Traveling with friends of his father who were unaware of him Saturday traveled and grew, but most importantly, he learned and adapted. No longer bound to Ustalav and with no other Dauds around other than the one surrounding them the spirits became at the same time content and restless.
As he grew Saturday tried his best to appease these spirits and to focus their near endless energy, their boundless hate into something good. And he did.
Or the spirits did. They both did, though at this point it was hard to tell where the living ended and the spirits began. But one thing, if only, was for certain. There was more evil in this world Saturday traveled than just the Dauds, and plenty of hate to go around.
Concise version: Basically he's possessed by the lingering resentment and outrage of those who suffered injustices from those around him rather than possessing a magical bloodline that make him lash out at the causes of said outrage him. So rather than lock him up or kill him his parents sent him far away from Ustalav, to the land of arts on the other side of the continent in the hopes that might ease his troubled psyche. Might be slightly inspired by Benicio del Toro's portrayal of Laurence Talbot in The Wolfman. Maybe :3
Any comments or feedback would be appreciated :3
Edit: just realized I forgot to put in about why he's in Kintargo and the 1hour window is almost up -_- will fix that later.

Almost done building the character, then have to import it into the profile. Quick question, does the trait Fate's Favored work with Halfling Luck?
Also, I would like to add some Bellflower Network pamphlets to her inventory. Is there a cost to these, or are they OK to be free since they're just flavor?
