Hmm. I did say any paizo published race. Well, yes you can, but keep in mind that such a creature would stand out like a sore thumb in a mostly-human city, and might be difficult to keep a low profile as a rebellion member.
Noted. I'll will get my submission posted today.

Edgerson |

Last minute upgrade to my background now that I have had time to get through the player's guild.
When Edgerson had finished his formal training at the Cheliaxian Academy it was time to leave Westport. The political climate there was not conducive to a broad thinking and energetic young Tiefling. His father and mother had both been and killed by the Shadowbeasts that roamed the city after dark. It now seems that there are rumors that the killing was not just a random accident of being caught outside after dark but something more politically based. Further investigation found that several of Asmodean priests had visited his parents and were now looking for him.
Fearing that he may be the next target he quickly settled the affairs of his parents . Selling everything he could not carry to pay for passage on the a ship leaving the harbor. He changed ships in every port to hopefully lose any pursuers. The last ship had stopped in the port Kintargo where his funds had run out.
He has found work in the Redroof district at local apothecary where the owner, Vanessa , lets him stay in a room above the shop. He has avoided anyone related to the Temple of Asomdeus and renounced his former god. The sins of his parent are no longer his concern but he is sure that they will follow him where ever he goes.
Things were going well until Barzillai Thrune show up. He has imposed martial law and issued several ridiculous proclamations. The first one seemed almost normal. Ridding the city of disease carrying vermin would help increase the health of the city and put coin in the pockets of it citizens. The second was helped promote citizenship by having every member of the city recognize who are queen is. Edgerson was sure that most of the population has no clue what she looked like.
Then they started to get weird. He found out what the feral dogs were for when he was making a deliver for Vanessa. He has seen the "dog housing" and was revolted by the notion. He has now begun a campaign to put down any dogs that he finds.
Tea and mint were both stables of the apothecary business. Vanessa had gotten rid of all the mint before the soldiers had arrived to inspect the shop. She still offered medicinal tea but with copy of the proclamation instructing the drinker to only imbibe during the day.
Vanessa stated that she is going to a peaceful gathering to protest the martial law that has been imposed. He has decided to tag along if for no other reason than to keep Vanessa safe.
Campaign Trait = Ex-Asmodean Reason for being at the rally= Tagging Along

Paladin of Baha-Who?: I just now realized that there was another Hell's Rebels recruitment up! Sorry, I hope that it wasn't construed as stepping on your toes! I honestly did not check to even see, which is was a pretty bad faux pas on my part.
No worries, I've got way more applicants than I can choose and it's going to be a really hard decision as it is. Hopefully those who I do not choose will find themselves in one of the other HR games.

I'll take either of those over the WorldWound, thank you.
I've also choose tagging along, so this should be interesting!
What if everyone picked is a Tag along?

Then obviously we're all there to protest the worst of Thrune's despot-isms: The critical lack of mint-flavored tea in the evening. It's just a pity that nobody else at the protest is on the Tea Party's page.

Here's the rest of Saturday's backstory that actually, ya'know, tries to tie him into the AP -_-
I'm sorry, it's probably not enough, and I've taken too long as it is. My apologies.
And so the young Daud traveled, traveled far, far away from dread Ustalav to the ends of the earth. Or at least the continent he was on. Arriving in the port city of the arts of Kintargo the latest in the relay of people who had helped him ushered him into the theatre district.
It was here he would spend the next years of life, growing, struggling, and living while bearing the weight of the countless dead upon him. While he did whatever tasks he could to get by at the theatre he found himself occasionally slipping off, or someone else slipping for him, to Temple Hill. At various points he would find himself amongst those of the God of darkness, the God of devils, the Goddess of love, and more often than not, to the ruins of the Dead God.
While he was drawn to the last one the most he much preferred the company of the temple of Shelyn. It was there that he most eased his troubled mind, whether through gazing and getting lost in the flood of others' emotions while looking upon the various projects going on or learning a thing or two about stringed instruments or simply surrounding himself with pleasant company Saturday for many a year managed his best to appease the angry spirits that called him friend and home.
And then Barzillai came amidst a night of fire and screams, tearing his world apart. And he found himself surrounded with anger again. Anger from those around him. Anger from the other side who now once again had someone to direct their hate towards. And for the first time in his life, he finally knew what it was like for those who always followed him, knew what their most basic and only remnant in this world was. Without having to be simply a channel for them, to be able to endure its intoxicating bitterness firsthand.
Saturday was angry.

I agree. Thanks for the opportunity. It's quite the range of characters, and I do not envy your decisions.

Quote:I would like to take the Heirloom Weapon trait, but I would like to select a proficiency with an Exotic Weapon. Would that be ok? See Here. Is anybody else playing someone new to Kintargo, or basically just arrived by ship, or maybe just playing a local sailor-type character?I wouldn't mind the Heirloom Weapon as proficiency with an exotic weapon, but it can't be a firearm or a siege weapon.
The Gunslinger player already in the game is going to be new to Kintargo.
Good to know! Maybe the gunslinger wouldn't mind the possibility of meeting during a ship's voyage on the way there? His ship from Alkenstar (assuming)could have been "passing through" Riddleport on it normal trade route anyway.

From the Journal of Aleksaan Dark-Soul, Sorcerer and former child of slavery:
I left when she died in that dark place. I did not look back. Her story is now mine to tell.
My mother was Li Liu, an eccentric wizard-monk-weaponsmith and native of Tian Xia. She had traveled to distant Riddleport for research into the city’s famous runes, when she was captured by pirates and sold into slavery. She moved “through many hands” and eventually found herself at the mercy of a small band of rogue drow that lived near the surface and traded with some of the worst scum in Riddleport. Her skill with magic, metals, and weapon-smithing probably saved her from a short life as a body slave, but now she was too valuable a commodity. To prevent her escape her spellbook was burned and she was permanently hobbled, which left her only able to stumble about her forge rather than walk normally.
Not too long after her capture I was born. Half-drow, I was even more exotic looking than most of my kind. Raven black hair and strange folds in my eyes, I was deemed less than family by the full drow around us. Still, I was treated better than a slave, but not by much. My mother, always a steady hand in the near-dark of her forge, helped me along with her advice and guidance in whatever she could, whenever she could. She never lost faith in her son, and tried to teach me as much as she could about magic, the forge, and the surface world, and the freedom they represented for me. She knew she would never make an escape herself at her age and infirmity, and with my natural magic -which she claimed came from her family’s dark history- she felt that I could one day escape my current life and have another with freedom to do and choose as I wanted. One day she came to me and gave me a weapon she had crafted herself in secret. She was dying of some unknown ailment, getting weaker, and wanted to make sure I was prepared for the world. She made me promise to hide the weapon, but to take it and to leave the day she died, and to never look back: To fight freedom whenever possible.
So I left a week later, leaving nearly everything I had ever known that sad day. Vowing to keep my freedom at any cost, and help others in need of that same freedom.
I will skip the boring parts of my escape, but I did eventually arrive at Riddleport, and so I experienced my first true freedom among the nearly lawless citizens there. I could never feel truly safe so close to the “family” I had left behind however. As soon as I could manage it, I stowed away on board an ocean vessel heading for its home port of Kintargo, in Cheliax. Having lived among demon worshipers, I felt at the time, devil worshipers couldn’t be any worse.
I was caught of course, even with my magic to help hide me. However, with a bit of persuasive luck and skill (not to mention a charm spell or two) I managed to change my status from stowaway (and potential shark bait) to fellow shipmate in a trice. With my metallurgic knowledge imparted from my mother, I repaired and improved the ship’s weapons as much as I could at sea, and used the ships small forge to make a few new simple weapons for the crew. Having earned my passage, I also earned a few friends on board the ship. The youngest member of the crew took to me and we began talking. I spoke of my life underground, leaving out the worst parts, and he spoke of his beloved Kintargo and the hateful things that Chelaxian government was doing to it right now.
Now we are finally docked in this city of light and excitement, and my life truly begins anew. My friend’s attitude is infectious, and I have adopted this troubled city as my own now. I intend to see the good in it, no matter the cost. My friend wants to head to a gathering of protesters in the city. I advised against it, since I know how ‘those on high’ will crack the whip on the lessers among them as needed, but the hard-headed boy does not listen to my meager advice. So in order to keep him out of trouble, I will go with him.
Select a reason to Protest on page 9 of the Player's Guide:
Tagging Along: You had not planned on going to the protest. Maybe crowds bother you, or you worry that it might get out of hand, or perhaps you’re just not political. But when you found out a close friend was planning on going, you reluctantly agreed to come along, if only to make sure your friend stays out of trouble. You aren’t as interested in joining the protests as you are keeping alert for anything that might escalate the protest into something more. Someone has to watch out for your friend, and who better to do that than you? You gain a +2 bonus on all Perception and initiative checks made during the protest itself.
Good luck everybody!

Sorry for nitpicking. Just got a little worried that's all.
