Moff: I'll be reviewing Pinna again tonight (late) and would appreciate any feedback. Everything is from the PRD.
Taking a look at it now. For starters -- Ring of Feather Falling seems like an odd choice (to me) for a monk. Since you have Slow Fall.

That only works within a certain distance from a wall, right? Who knows what diabolical things you'll come up with! Like BBEG's swooping down to carry us high and drop us in the middle of nowhere! AAUGH! [/paranoia]

** puppy dog eyes ** Who me?
A few things...
FF AC -- should be 18. I believe you only get your armor bonus and your monk stuff. Not Dodge and not Dex.
Touch AC -- should be 20. You just don't get the armor bonus.
You don't have damage listed for your sword -- 1d8+3 (I believe).
I think that's about it. Looks good.

I'm still working on background, and I obviously need a name. I think the stats are all in place, though.
I have one non-PRD option: the Augment Healing feat from Complete Divine. Let me know if that one is a problem.
Edit: Ack. Just noticed I worked with a budget of 23000 instead of 28000. I guess I have 5000 more to spend...

Pinna |

CMD -- should be 27. 5 BAB, 5 Dex, 2 Str, 1 Dodge, 4 Monk stuff.
Oh, holy cow, I get to add all the monk stuff. Crazy!

Right, fixed.

Transcription error, it was 20 on my spreadsheet. Oops.
You don't have damage listed for your sword -- 1d8+3 (I believe).
Yes, fixing. Also added my remaining cash to my list.
Thanks! :D

What are you looking for in the way of backgrounds, Moff? How detailed should they be?
I was thinking about that. Normally I like backgrounds fairly detailed if for no other reason than it gives me plot ideas. But in this case I probably don't need much since most of what I'm planning will happen elsewhere than Faerun.

I'm almost done taking a look at it. A few comments...
You have Use Magic Device listed, but unless you put ranks in it, you can't use that skill.
Augment Healing is fine.
CMD -- 17 -- add the Ring of Protection +1.
I think that's it. Looks good.
Also...

You're right - I did forget to lessen the Armor Check penalties because of masterwork armor. I'll also updated the CMD.
I just listed UMD because I was listing everything, but you're right, there's no real reason to have it there.
I do have the Spell Compendium. I'll probably primarily stick to PRD spells, but may tap into the SC spells for situations like the ones you mentioned. (I am assuming that, at the start of the campaign, we don't necessarily know we are about to go to the planes, so I've prepared generic spells that would be appropriate on Toril.) Generally speaking, do SC spells need your approval, or are they okay to prepare?

No, the group doesn't know that you will be going to the planes so generic spells are expected at this point.
Regarding SC -- Any spells outside of PF will need to be approved. It will be on a case by case basis. Especially for Clerics -- (it always seemed odd to me that they automatically get access to all cleric spells). For the most part, I'm pretty generous and also don't like that a lot of my 3.X stuff is collecting dust.
I plan on giving out lots of magic. Some deliberate and some very random. If I give out a wand/staff/scroll with a spell from a different source than PF, then the party will pretty much be able to learn said spell.
If a character would like to learn a spell from a different source, I will probably (still needs to be approved) allow it at "level up" with an associated Knowledge roll.

If I missed it earlier, I apologize. Where exactly are we beginning in Faerun?

From your point of view, it doesn't matter. Where we will start will not be where you were. ;-)

So I'm trying to get a list of names to use for characters. I thought I'd look at inspiration from the Star Wars universe since most of you are not as much of freaks with that like I am. It's amazing to me just how many Star Wars names have 'z', 'y', 'k', 'x', and 'v' in them.
I may also use some names from George R. R. Martin since he has enough named characters to populate most of Europe.

Well, I've never read George RR Martin anyways. :)

He tries to populate his everywhere.

Oh, don't be sure about being solo on this freak quest, sir.

I figured that. I guess what I'm trying to say if I were cobbling a PC background that I need to explain how I came from point A to point B. Or if that's irrelevant, then ok.

Magic -- it's a beautiful thing...
Hope that helps without giving away too much.

I just need to finish with equipment and then apply the updates to the character profile. Should definitely be done by the end of the weekend.
Edit: Nevermind, I just found the perfect item to spend the rest of her gold on. Rod of Wonder. :D
So I'll get the stuff typed up tonight most likely.

As for SC Spells, I took a look at the spell list, and came up with a short list that I would consider wanting to use. Let me know what you think.
2. Avoid Planar Effects, Light of Mercuria
3. Attune Form, Conviction (Mass), Light of Venya, Resist Energy (Mass), Resurgence (Mass), Wall of Light
4. Planar Tolerance, Recitation, Sheltered Vitality
5. Blistering Radiance, Zone of Respite
6. Bolt of Glory, Energy Immunity
7. Planar Bubble, Plan Shift (Greater), Radiant Assault
8. Death Ward (Mass)
9. Heavenly Host

Thanks. Fixed it. Totally forgot that her Cha went up. :)

Ooh, a race! I love races. They're so exciting and people start betting and it's so much fun watching and taverns are nice too. Lots of new people come into taverns so it's a great place to meet them and I always like meeting new people and finding out all about them and that would be a little bit easier if they wouldn't make the chairs so tall. It's very awkward trying to climb into a chair that taller than you are, don't you think? Well, of course you think, that's a silly question isn't it? Figures of speech are so odd when you stop to think about what they actually say. Wow, your feathers are so pretty and shiny. Could I have one? I mean, not while it's attached obviously, but if any fall off?

Server timed out and I lost my original post. Grrr...
Sorry for the delay; I've been trying to get all my school crap in order as I begin at the end of the month and it's been twenty years since I've gone. Going to retake a proficiency exam to see if I can get placed into an advanced math and composition class (I was off by two points or less on the initial test).
Essentially, I'm shooting for a tiefling sorcerer 5/rogue 2. I'm open to any suggestions to aid in the inspiration of cobbling this PC together. It gets easier for me once I move past the creation stage.
Thanks.

Races are good! Pinna runs fast!
Pinna peers suspiciously at Elysia
Why you want feathers? Got shinies in return for feathers? Seems fair. Shiny things for shiny feathers. Pinna will even pull them out for shinies.
"Oh, yes, I have lots of shinies! I love shinies! See, I keep some of them in my hair cause they're so pretty and I love it when they catch the light and make patterns with all the beautiful colors. Colors are so great. Wouldn't it be awful not to be able to see them? And they dance so prettily in the light. Anyways, here we are," she said, pulling a bag of glass beads out of her pack, "see I have lots and lots and lots of shinies. In all the colors of the rainbow. I have some other beads too if you prefer metal to glass, but I think the glass ones are really the prettiest, and that's actually why I wanted a feather, you know, because I thought it was so beautiful and I wanted to make a pretty piece of jewelry out of it."

Good luck. I know it's pretty nervewracking heading back to school.
What bloodline are you going for with the sorcerer? I mean, abyssal or infernal would be obvious choices with a tiefling, but destined or arcane would also make interesting choices.

To take advantage of the CHA, it'll be the obvious choices. I just need to determine which of the obvious ones will be best fit.
