I just need to determine which of the obvious ones will be best fit.
Hmmm....I think infernal is the slightly better choice, but abyssal isn't bad either. That's a tough one.
| lynora |
Well, I'm not a huge fan of the claws. That's kinda a personal thing, but hey, you asked for opinions. :)
I feel that the bloodline powers and spells for infernal are a little more exciting. scorching ray is a personal fave and I'm awful fond of charm and suggestion too. (This may be why my DM expressed such relief that I wasn't playing a caster in my RL game as I may have overused them just a touch).
Spells like bull's strength and rage combined with the claws make abyssal seem a bit more of a combat monster. That can be a good choice, but I tend to find it frustrating. Like, hey look, I can two things crappy instead of one thing well. Doesn't have to be that way, but I don't multitask well. :)

Ok, taig -- Lots of questions...
You have "Halfling Jinx" under "traits". I can't find this. Where is it from. It then looks like there are a number of feats related to this "trait" -- where are they found?
What is your "mystery" and what is your "curse"?
(It looks like you have "Tongues" and "Heavens". Yes?)
"Whirling Earring"? "Sacred Keepsake"? Twice? "Noble Needle"? You have "(37 @ 24 lbs)", but I think that something is missing because I don't think you have 37 backpacks or bedrolls.
I think that's it for now. Still looking at it...

I thought that I read somewhere that no one item should be more than half your gold -- luckstone is 20k. That seems a bit high when we have a 28,000 gp limit. I may still allow it here. Let me think about it for a little bit, but you might want to consider alternates.
Isn't/Wasn't the Luckstone a material component for something powerful?

Yes, Heavens is my mystery, and Tongues is my curse.
I'll have to look into the inventory weirdness. This is the first time I used Hero Lab to develop my character, so I'll check that out when I get home.

I'll think about it. I kind of like the idea of the "jinx" stuff for you.
By my calculation...
Swim is -1 without the luckstone or without any ranks in it. Not sure why yours says -2. It might be a weight thing, but I can't tell.
Diplomacy I can get up to +18 before the luckstone. So if that is adding in the +1 from the luckstone...
Appraise wouldn't have any ranks in it. And if that's true...
Why is Appraise listed and Acrobatics not listed?
I believe that you (with your intelligence) get 4 skill ranks a level. But you seem to have a lot of ranks in diplomacy, heal, perception, sense motive, and survival. And that doesn't even include the others.
Basically, I'm a bit confused with your skills.

Is it a standard action to activate?
How's the Will DC determined?
It's one target at a time, correct? Which means that if you have 10 targets, you have to do one at a time, right?
Are there spells or other abilities that can eliminate or at least suppress the effect once a character has been "jinxed"?
And...
Is it just one "square" or is it larger than that?

When I get home tonight I'll get you all the answers. I think. :)
I'm working out my Paizo giveaway tonight, so if you want my hardcopy of HoG, I can make sure that gets to you.
I came late to the "giveaway" and wasn't sure if it was closed. But, sure I'd like that. (And may include a few other requests if/when I take another look at it...)

Oh, yeah, I'm not an optimizer of any sort (more like the gaming equivalent of someone who picks a favorite team by its color scheme or mascot). It just fits a theme that I'd like to go with. i could have left it with the trait, but the feats do a couple of extra things that appealed to me.

A badger after my own heart.
Ok, so...
Give yourself 5 more points for stats.
Let me know the calculation on to hit for the crossbow (or if I'm right, correct yours).
Let me know the calculation on your AC (especially the chain shirt) or if I'm right, then correct yours.
And I think we're good with yours.
Now on to Lynora's...

Looks like we're down one, so all I need is a character from Urizen...
Again, expect to see a tiefling sorcerer 5 / rogue 2.

The speed factor comes from years of perpetual GMing. Also, when I run a canned adventure... I usually rewrite all the monsters in case one of my PCs has already read it. Suspicious Puffin is Suspicious.

I've yet to GM after all of these years (since the late '70's). It shows. I keep telling myself there'll eventually be a madcap mishmash genre hopping campaign out of me someday with the huge proliferation of materials I've amassed.

@Urizen:
You were talking about building a sorcerer/rogue? Have you seen the Arcane Trickster PrC?
Also, if you're looking for combat utility what about a Magus? Treppa suggested that as I possibility, I'm just passing it along. ;P
I haven't reviewed the Arcane Trickster PrC. What's the selling point.
As for the Magus, I've basically downloaded the playtest PDF, glimpsed at it, and that's about it. In my mind, the best that has come close to the arcane fighter build as I imagine it was the 3.5 duskblade. I suppose I should give it another look. If that's the case, I may play something other than a tiefling. Hm.
Damn you with options. Heh.

Arcane Trickster gives you full spellcasting combined with sneak attack. It's a multi-class rogue-sorc wet dream.
Tiefling is still a great choice for a Magus. It is INT based for casting and higher dex can never hurt. :P

You're right about the the crossbow. Now I see why I'm missing 2 points: I had it set up so I was only wielding it one-handed. :)
And, oops, I forgot to change the name of the armor when I upgraded to a +1 chain shirt.
Everything should be fixed now. :)

Ok -- Lynora. Your turn...
HP -- even if you don't add a hp at each level, I believe that your hp should be 49 (add your Con bonus).
Skills -- having a little difficulty with some of this. The closest I could come to is...
Acrobatics +5 (with no ranks in it).
Diplomacy +12 (7 ranks +5 Cha).
Climb +1
Craft (Jewelry) +12 (7 ranks +2 Int +3 Class skill)
Knowledge Arcana +11 (6 ranks +2 Int +3 Class skill)
Sense Motive +6 (6 ranks)
Stealth +9 (2 ranks +3 Dex +4 Halfling Bonus)
And, again, you may have more skills from favored class bonuses.
Wand of Wonder -- I've always loved that item. In my AoW campaign, one of the characters had it and used it to great success. But I made my own chart of random goodness. You game for something a bit more random than what's in the Core Rulebook? (Also, is it a charged item? I couldn't tell from the description, but it used to be.)
I think that's about it.

PF core rulebook or in the PRD.
Requirements
To qualify to become an arcane trickster, a character must fulfill all of the following criteria.Alignment: Any nonlawful.
Skills: Disable Device 4 ranks, Escape Artist 4 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 4 ranks.
Spells: Ability to cast mage hand and at least one arcane spell of 2nd level or higher.
Special: Sneak attack +2d6.
So you can be a rogue 3/Wiz 3 and do it right away, or you can be a rogue 3/Sorc 4 and start it with your 8th level.

Yep, you got the skills right. I don't know what was up with me. I was seriously distracted or something. I actually managed to make a different mistake on each one I added wrong. :)
Anyways, I fixed all of that.
The rod of wonder is teh awesome. :)
It has no charges listed by it, so your call on whether it has charges or uses per day or what. I'm good with it however you decide. And I'm totally game for extra randomness. In fact, I look forward to it. :)

Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 ...
Is this thing on?
Ok, this is the first time I've tried to do something like this...
First, can everyone see this? It's the "combat map" of where we're going to start (for the most part). Apparently Goggle Docs doesn't allow for much additional "pretty" formatting so I made it into a pdf. Quality isn't the best, but then we're not planning on hanging it on our wall. (Or are we?)
Then ... testing "roll initiative"...
Vortek – 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Lanwin – 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Elysia – 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
E. – 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Pinna – 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
It looks like that worked.
Let me know if you have any questions.
