Game Master baldwin the merciful

This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.

At the combine in Indy this week. I was traveling all day. I'll be around tomorrow.

Evil GM

I've hit my frustration level. Nothing I've done has worked, the dang program doesn't even start up now. I figured out it has something to do with JAVA 7, and it somehow deleted my J6 that I had dedicated to maptools.

I downloaded a old J6 but can't find the program link, my exe file may have been deleted. A bunch of computer info that is beyond me.

Maptools is working on coming out with a J7 version.

I've come to rely on maptools for game, it makes it a lot easier.

Hmm..well I am out of ideas.

So you've gotten Maptools working but now you can't find your campaign file?

The whole thing went down on me....lost it all, no access to anything.

I went to the website and re-downloaded and everything came back. I really don't know if this is fix or not, or if its short lived.

Evil GM

Well I'm going to log off - no reason for a TPK due to my pent up frustration - hahaha DM humor.

Back with you all tomorrow.

Evil GM

I've noted Lucrezia and truk's actions, I'm waiting on the others to post.

Evil GM

I'm heading out to dinner back around 9

I just picked up a few new pdfs today, and I'd like to begin reading tonight. You are finally at the cellar level and I will post something in the morning. I think I have pretty light day, so I should be able to get a few post up.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Will be at work from 2pm to 7pm so my posting will be lighter.

Lucrezia, Truk, Grimm and others a question regarding weapon blanching - ghost salt.

Ghost Salt:

Ghost Salt: This gritty alchemical powder is made from exotic minerals mixed with an infusion crafted from the ectoplasmic remains of destroyed incorporeal undead. When rubbed onto a weapon that is then placed over a hot flame for a full round, ghost salt melts and forms a temporary coating on the weapon. The blanching gives the weapon the ability to do full damage to incorporeal creatures, even if the weapon itself is non-magical. An application of ghost salt remains effective until the weapon makes a successful attack. Each dose of weapon blanch can coat one weapon or up to 10 pieces of ammunition. Only one kind of weapon blanch can be on a weapon at one time.

Ghost salt works against incorporeal undead. What if a creature is undead but not incorporeal but is in gaseous form. Does the anyone have quick answer?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

I was hoping you knew. :p That was something I was wondering as well. Perhaps something for the Advice/RPG Discussion area..

Edit: Lucrezi's bow is magic (+1) so it can do damage normally

Male Half-Orc Druid 8/Cleric 1 | HP: 116/116 l AC: 26 (30 with buffs, 32 vs the first 3 attacks per round) /T: 12/FF: 24 l Fort: +15*, Ref: +5*, W: +14* l Init: +0 l Per: +15; Low-light vision l Movement: 30 *Hardy: Gain +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities *Familiar:51/51

Gaseous form doesn't grant incorporeal. It just grants DR 10/Magic.

It would hit and do full damage but essentially waste the ghost salt application on the arrow.

If the creature is not incorporeal does the ghost salt do full damage?

This sentence seems to imply its full damage against incorporeal:

"The blanching gives the weapon the ability to do full damage to incorporeal creatures, even if the weapon itself is non-magical. An application of ghost salt remains effective until the weapon makes a successful attack."

edit:
Its a moot point since her bow is +1 and that bypasses the DR/magic

Male human bard 7/pathfinder savant 5: 83/83 hp, Init +2, AC 24 [touch 14, flat-footed 23], Fort +10, Ref +12, Will +11; Perception +5

I don't see any reason why the ghost salt would help bypass the DR, since it states that it only allows the blanching to do full damage to incorporeal creatures, not anything else.

Ah well, sounds like the ghost salt was wasted on this attack. Though Lucrezia would not know what exactly the mist is and would likely use the ghost salt anyway.

Yeah, sorry I should have specified that part. The ghost salt won't do anything extra but it won't hurt the arrow's ability to hurt the creatures in gaseous form due to the bow itself being magical.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Exactly.

I'm going to give Andrea a few minutes to post her action before I begin Rd 2.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

All set and utterly terrified. Good job.

Evil GM

I'm waiting on Grimm and John to take their actions. I was hoping they would have been posted already.

Evil GM

I'm considering running a second game on PbP. There a short Module by Rite Publishing that I think would make a good PbP game - horror themed.

I'm, also, interested in running a couple levels of the massive dungeon Rappan Athuk.

I think the Rite Publishing first though.

I do like horror themed stuff. Just give us a holler when you put up a recruit thread for it. ;)

Me too. :)

Evil GM

I just wrote up the recruitment which I'm editing right now. I will provide the heads up when I post it...be warned the characters are pregen and it's an oriental theme. The characters fit the role.

Male Half-Orc Druid 8/Cleric 1 | HP: 116/116 l AC: 26 (30 with buffs, 32 vs the first 3 attacks per round) /T: 12/FF: 24 l Fort: +15*, Ref: +5*, W: +14* l Init: +0 l Per: +15; Low-light vision l Movement: 30 *Hardy: Gain +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities *Familiar:51/51

Sounds fun.

We still waiting on John?

Well, I hope you got a female in that pregen bunch. I don't play guys. :)

Evil GM
Lucrezia Villanova wrote:

its really gender neutral so any of them would work...we can change a name.

That'll work. I've done plenty of parlor larps with gender-neutral pregen characters. In one of them my character and my husband's character even shared eating a human heart together. How romantic huh? :)

link to a copy of the pdf for the larp

Recruitment is up.

And if you like movies where several people wake up in an abandoned warehouse with no memories of how they got there and some beaten up and others handcuffed, try:
Unknown with Greg Kinnear

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Off to work. I will try to stay with the group, somethings I might do.

1.If mobbed by undead, try to Turn Undead DC 19
2.If there is just a single undead, use holy water (3) and/or provide a flanker. If pressed I will use my Circlet of Blasting (3d8).
3.Channeling for 4d6 is an option. Just play it by ear depending on how hairy things get.(If Baldwin is ok, then say Truk or Lucrezia can pilot me)

Evil GM

I need to run out for about an hour and half. I should be on quite a bit tonight.

Female Half Elf Urban Ranger / 7 and Wizard / 1 and Arcane Archer / 1 -- Perception: +18 in urban, +21 traps (otherwise +16) -- Init: +4 -- HP:49/59 -- AC: 23(Touch:15 / FF:19) -- F:7, R:11, W:5 +2vs enchants

Well, that would be an interesting way to do it upside down...

Male Elven Diviner 2 Init:6, Perception:9, AC: 13/13/10, Saves: 1/3/3 (+2 enchantments & immune to sleep), HP:15/15

I'm still in Indy. DMPC as needed.

Pretty slow day and evening today. I think I was overly optimist when I said we could finish by last Sunday.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Even if we were mostly on, it would have taken longer I believe. That is how it goes.

I've been on most of this time but we're always waiting on someone.

I guess that's just how PBP goes sometimes.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Hopefully Grimm is just writing up the massive amount of damage he is going to do. ;)

Evil GM

I need to log off, I have an early morning car pooling. I should be on plenty tomorrow.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

We need to pull Grimm out of there. He is taking major level drain

Grimm, you should withdraw. if you took 3 levels of drain you will be 3 levels down next time and won't survive the round after that
