Will most likely go with Human, since thats what he was in my mind as I wrote it.

The character will have a 1 level dip of Oracle with the lore Mystery and the Lame curse. Ill admit this is a shameless powerplay to add more *oompfh* to the character, although having access to cure light wounds cast by the suit had a fair bit of influence on it. While its mechanically an oracle, im fluffing it as a "cleric in training"

I to am going Human, I will work on creating the backstory when I can.

I think I like him coming from Gumlat, and I will work his bloodline into that haunted, were-folk locale.

@ bbangerter - please note that I changed my application to a Ranger (Urban/Skirmisher)/Cleric of Norgorber.

added more detail in backstory will get stats up soon

I'm intrigued to see what you come up with.

Okay, noted :).

Recruitment will end Sunday afternoon. It will probably take me one or two days to make the selections for all of the groups.

Stiehl9s here with Sicsivicus - Ranger (Urban/Skirmisher) / Cleric of Norgorber

Sicsivicus's story:
He had a face that only a mother could adore and yet, no mother to speak of. His empty soul though; was something that a dark God could appreciate and one had taken notice. Sicsivicus knelt on the floor and touched the edge of paper to the candle's dancing flame. He removed the grinning mask and slipped into his pack as the page lit up in smoke and fire and took him back to his past..

...No father in sight and Sic feared the day he had to face the Orc. He was by all accounts a brute and twice the murdered his scion was. He'd been born to a frail young woman in the slums of Coran and the poor thing had died giving birth to the large half breed. A child of the rough and tumble streets from not long after he could walk; Sic knew a freedom that few children ever experienced. He also learned how heartless life could be. A group of women took him in at times; especially when it was bitter cold out. Kleonaa was particularly nice to him giving him extra sweets and making sure none of the male 'visitors' got physical with him. When he came of age she introduced him to a man named Gryft Saedoom. A fence for the Thieve's Guild. Gryft had ready work for a brute with little to no scruples. It was as new start with promising rewards and he owed it all to Kleonna..and I will never forget her kindness...even if it was a sign of weakness... He'd even choked a man to death who had bruised her up during a 'visit'.

He became adept at hunting down enemies of the guild and bringing them in. Dead or alive all depended on the contract and it wasnt long before he was a full fledged member with all the benefits and dues. The work served his Almighty Father as well...I remember clearly the day the Reaper found me...cold and alone in the dark...kneeling over the first boy that I murdered...not that he didnt deserve it...still it was a life changing event in my life...Father held me close and said everything would be ok...that what I did wasnt wrong...I believed him...mostly because it felt so right...I became one of his Sons and I've spilled blood in his name time and time again... The Guild either didnt know of his eternal pledge or just didnt care...Its not like I go around flaunting it. Thats for sure...although I did careless...
...he had risen from the ash and could still feel the stab wounds in his back. He knew he'd been murdered and knew as well that he'd deserved it. He'd been foolish to embarrass Drixtin like that in front of everyone at Wailing Spirits but the elf was arrogant and needed taking down a notch...yah but he was also amongst friends...like Tomlin and Tavrus... and a tool of the Seven if the rumors were true...not a smart move there pal... He stood up and breathed in the sulfurous air and swore that one day he would crush the life from that skinny punk...if its the last thing I do... Father Skinsaw had promised him three lives in place of his soul and he'd just lost one. It was no way to start the day and losing it again scared him to no end...the Reaper doesnt abide failure...Thankfully he had contigencies in place and Ole' Javokun at the Wailing Spirit's owed him a favor so his body should be waiting for him...Basher is sure to give me hell over this...damn...

He rose from the dead threee days later in a crypt that was familiar to him and stretched sore, cold muscles. He rubbed his flesh to get the blood pumping again and thought long and hard about his next course of action. He wanted the Council of Seven out of Coran or dead to a man...and any that stand with them... He wasnt sure of the Guild would get behind that right away so he'd have to do it one man at a time. Until the he would keep stacking loot and securing allies. He'd need a strong power base to shoot for any sort of Guild leadership position...then my plans become Guild plans...hahaha....

Edited to include physical desription. Let me know if you need anything else by the deadline.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nope you have sufficient info Sic. I like how you tied in the free true resurrection effect to your storyline, very clever.

Dark Archive

Well well well it Seams i may have a friend soon well if it's ok with him. :)

Sicsivicus, I am very much intrigued by your character knowing an Elf in the guild who has two companions. Im considering making him the same as the one in my story, changing the name. Nothing binds party members together like a shared hatred :)

^ thanks Deliverance! You have a great story also. I need to work on adding conversation like you did to mine in the future.

Although please note that the elf in my story is a member of the Mageocracy and the other two I mentioned are actual applicants for the mageocracy as well.

need rulings on several questions, mostly about eidlons.

1: I wanna choose the Traits Slippery(flower network) and Eyes and Ears of the City...Stealth and Perception as class skills respectively. Are these allowed?

2: Can I take Power attack with a Str of only 7, since I have enough Str when im in my Eidolon? Same question for Improved Natural Attack feat. Generally people seem to agree its Yes on the interwebs, but wanna be sure you agree.

3: The Slam evolution requires the Arms evolution for every one of the attacks you take. However an exception to this is that you can also replace your Eidolons Claws evolution with the Slam. A bipedal Eidolon comes with one Claw evolution, but its location isnt specified. An Eidolon can put claws on its feet once, no matter how many pairs of legs it has. So, im wondering, can I put the claws on my Eidolons feet, purchase a Slam in its place, and then also purchase a Slam for its arms, thus giving me two slam attacks? Normally I could just buy more arms for more slams but I wanna stick with the two arms, two legs look.

4: Synthesist says I have all my gear available while in my Eidolon. Does this mean any magic items I wear, like fx a strength boosting item, will affect me?

5: Are items granting +1, +3 and +5 to stats available? At costs of 1000, 9000, and 25000 respectively.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Eyes and Ears is from the APG, so yes. Slippery is not, so technically it would be no, but there are regional and campaign traits listed in the APG that allow stealth to become a class skill. I'm not to concerned about the exact flavor on the trait, so go ahead and take it.

Yes on both counts.

After re-reading through these I'd have to say no. To me it appears the intent of the slam replacing claws is a way to get a slam attack for the base eidolon form without having to spend a evolution point (and thereby free up a point for something else). But the restriction of limbs (arms) is not lifted.

Yes.

No.

Recruitment is now closed. I'm hoping to have things narrowed down late Monday night. At latest Tuesday night I will post the selected characters. Thank you everyone for your interest and creative character concepts - choosing between them is always one of the hardest parts - this PbP doesn't look like it is going to be any different.

I think in some ways I only partially answered this question. From a flavor stand point I'd be okay with you taking a bipedal eidolon, do the free conversion of claws to slam. Then use evolution points for limbs (arms) once and points for slam on those arms - but leave your eidolon with only 2 visible arms. Basically treating each slam evolution you've taken as coming from a single arm. If you wanted a third slam attack, at that point you would need the eidolon to physically have 4 (or more) arms.

Actually you still have to pay for the slam when replacing claws.

Slam (Ex): An eidolon can deliver a devastating slam
attack. This attack is a primary attack. The slam deals
1d8 points of damage (2d6 if Large, 2d8 if Huge). The
eidolon must have the limbs (arms) evolution to take this
evolution.

- So far so good, id say no at this point as well -

Alternatively, the eidolon can replace the claws
from its base form with this slam attack (this still costs
1 evolution point). This evolution can be selected more
than once, but the eidolon must possess an equal number
of the limbs evolution.

- This distinctly makes no mention of arms being needed, also, the "more than once" part also only mentions the Limbs evolution, not the Limbs (arms) evolution. The use of the word Alternatively, wwould also seem to suggest that what follows is an exception to what was previously written -

I know its pointless arguing with a DM but I wanna make a good case before giving up.

I dont envy you having to make cuts on four games at the same time. Looking forward to hearing the roll call.

Good luck everyone!

Your right of course. Sometimes one must read something a dozen times before it all sinks in.

No harm in doing so :). Let me do a bit more research on this aspect of it. Pure RAW you are right, I'd like to evaluate the RAI closer (tomorrow).

After reading up more on this I'm going to allow it. You may replace your claws on your legs for a slam attack from them - once only, as even a quadruped can only takes claws (legs) once.

Fantastic, thanks.

Haz an Eidolon work in progress for your troubles!

After trying to sort out characters for all the groups I decided to up the group size from 5 to 6 for each faction. Doing so helped alleviate some of the difficulties I was having in narrowing down the selections.

For the rebellion group it will consist of the following characters:
Sorad Dvorak
Leandric
Vaek
Maeltheron Timmerond
Anthony
Sicsiviscus

Please post in the discussion thread to indicate you are working on your character stat block.

I encourage you to also work with the other members of your faction to create some ties in your back stories.

This might be a weird question, but I find this very interesting... So I am just poking my toe in here and ask:

Is this still alive or is it dead? If it is alive, is it full?
