Hah! Very true. But the chance that it couldve been absolute minimum was there and it might still not compare to the damage he takes in a round. Guess Sic will have to add Cure Moderate Wounds to his list asap.

Hey guys, was messing around with a build for a theoretical replacement character for Anthony. Now dont worry, I dont intend to replace him unless he dies, but still, couldnt resist fiddling with a build, cause its practically a hobby for me.
The build is level 7, because I assume we will have leveled atleast once before it would ever be put into play.

Flurry of Maneuvers: On Full Attack, perform additional Combat Maneuver, all Maneuvers take a -2 penalty.
Basically this guy has good saves, decently good Acrobatics, Climb, Perception, Spellcraft and Stealth. His AC is pretty meh and HP lowish for a Fighter.
He has taken the Half-elven alternate Racials for +2 Will saves, some spell-like abilities (half-drow, awh yeah) and Darkvision (awh yeah more Drow, booh Light Blindness)
THe main purpose of this build however, is to be a complete and utter blender in melee!
Heres the deal. With 6 Bab, he gets two attacks in a Full Attack. With Flurry of Maneuvers, he gets an extra Maneuver, at Bab 7, but with a -2 (sorta like flurry of blows). Through stacking, his attack bonus on a trip attack is +20 once you factor in the -2 penalty, as well as a -2 penalty from Power Attack.
The character also has Vicious Stomp, a Feat that lets you perform an unarmed attack when someone falls prone near you. This Feat works in conjunction with Greater Trip, giving you two AOOs on a trip, one of which has to be unarmed.
However! The character has the Feat Martial Versatility. This Feat allows him to perform the Vicious Stomp attack, with any weapon that is in the same Weapon Group as the intended weapon (unarmed strike). The Temple Sword and Unarmed Strike are both in the Monk Weapon Group.
So basically, when the character trips someone, he gets to whack them twice with his sword!
So lets get back to that Full Attack.
He opens with his extra maneuver from Flurry of Maneuvers. Most enemies have at most 24 CMD at equal level, so he only needs a 4+ to trip the enemy.
He now gets two attacks with his sword, at an effective bonus of +15, since the enemy suffers a -4 AC penalty when prone. On top of this he still has two more attacks, one more at an effective +15 and a fourth at an effective +10
Lets say the enemy has some good AC, and say he only hits twice. Thats still 2d8 + 32 damage without critting. Against a low AC target, we are looking at 4d8 + 64 on average dice rolls!
But wait, it gets better!
If he cannot Full attack, he can still manage 2 attacks on the move. Simply move up to the victim, trip them, and get two free attacks! More over, the CMB on a single attack trip is now 21, or 23 on a charge.
And all of this doesnt factor what happens when they try to get up, MWAHAHAHAHAHAAH! (Hint: They get tripped and whacked again!)

Its even worse if he somehow manages to be able to reach two enemies when he does this. 5 AOOs allowed per round, he could trip both of the with his initial maneuver and attack, perform 2 AOOs on one and 1 AOO on the others, then still have 2 AOOs in the chamber for when they try to get up.
Not that thats likely to happen much but still. It makes me all warm inside just thinking about it ;)

Couldnt fit it into the build. Even with 2 bonus feats from Archetypes, 2 bonus feats from Monk and 3 bonus feats from Fighter, it still only just barely manages to get everything it needs for the wombo combo. When he hits level 8 and gets a fighter bonus feat, he will be picking up Martial Versatility for the Perfect Strike feat granted by the Weapon Adept Archetype, thus letting him roll twice on his attack with the Temple Sword three times per day. These will pretty much always be used on the trip attempts at crucial moments, all but guaranteeing a prone, blended opponent.
Snake Style also doesnt gel too well with the build in general, and I think the base style feat is the best thing about it. Being able to on average count 10 + you Sense Motive modifier as your AC against an attack is pretty golden if you actually have a good Wisdom. Ive toyed with a Wisdom focused Zen Archer using it (+12 Sense Motive at level 3).

That said, since a prone character doesnt threaten the squares around him, that means he could just perform a disarm attempt instead. Even without the feats, he wouldnt get attacked back for it, and the bonus would still be an effective +15 due to the prone penalty.
When you say "the next monk you play" do you mean a full on monk? Martial Versatility requires 4 levels of fighter, so the Vicious Stomp and Perfect Strike conversions arent an option then.

Dont wanna be "that guy", but can we start DM PCing Saul? Kinda sucks hanging around waiting for one guy to post...Its been 5 days, and has happened a bit too regularly for my taste.

I'll comb through the thread later and track doen all the stiff we took. I assume the bag I got has pesh in it? How much is that worth (I can't remember if we were just going to sell it, or if we had another use for it)
On an unrelated note, are there any corrupt politicians/people of power in the city who regularly interact with the guild? They might be useful resources.

I looked through all of the discussion thread, and didn't find any contacts mentioned. Looking through the gameplay thread next.
With loot stuff, I think Tony should take the ring (he has the lowest AC among our melee folks).
If anyone can use the chain shirt, they should take it, otherwise it should be sold.
Someone should definitely tske the potion. I don't think it much matters who.
GM, how quickly can we get that pesh sold? It would be nice to have 3k extra to spend on stuff to get Vaek out.
Restocking my potions, btw.

Actually I think Sorad has the lowest of the melee's AC. Tony in his ironman suit is a tank.
Sic's happy with taking his cut of anything sold.
We should keep the chain shirt for now in case they stripped Vaek of gear.

Yeah, "Eidolon Krast" sports 32 AC with Mage Armor. Bonus AC does become better the more of it you have though. That said, I think Saul or Sic might see more use from it. Its a toss up though.

Wow, I just looked at the date of the first post, and the number of posts. Even with days without posts, sometimes several in a row, at 14 months of game time we still manage to average about 4-5 posts a day.

Also, about Saul. While Im sad we havnt heard from him, atleast it saves Ascension some trouble, since we will remain at 5 players once we spring Vaek.

Wow indeed! Missed our 1 year. Very glad to see us still going. Ive lost two games this week alone. Don't want to see that happen here.
Sidenote GM Ascension - how are the other factions doing? Still active?
