Sic, Str will be better for you, Charisma is only good for more Channels and thats it, since most of the charisma skills are fueled by Wisdom in the suggested build.
Imo anyway.

Sicsivicus |

Yah, you're right. I switched the Str and Cha. I still want to have something on Cha since the Save DC for Channel is based on it...for some reason... are there any feats that add to Channel DC?
Working on the build you suggested now. Thank Norgorber for HerloLab!
edited - Also I was able to take both the Heretic and Preacher archtypes ^_^

GM Ascension |

Yes, both archetypes are allowed since they don't both try and alter the same ability.
A comprehend language spell will nullify any and all languages you use as a means of unknown communication. It would not decode coded messages, or let a person pick up on secret messages. So a second language is only useful if someone takes cyclopian specifically.
Agile enchants is okay to take.

Anthony Krast |

- You have a 23 point buy currently. Dropping to 8 charisma will fix it, and also not affect you all that much (See comments about channeling below)
- Longsword damage should be 1d8, whip should be 1d3 + 3.
- Climb is missing an armor check penalty.
- CMB and CMD should both be one higher.
- Cause Fear domain spell should be DC 15
- You have forgotten to write Channeling Scourge feat onto your sheet.
- Looks like you set your Stern Gaze bonus at 3, but its only at 2 currently
- Channel Smite is a good catch, but id suggest getting rid of Improved Channel and Sacred Conduit and getting Extra Channel and a Knowledge(Local) trait instead. Since you will be smiting with your channels, and your Charisma isnt going to be a focus, the save DC will never be good, and will only get worse as we level. Better to smite more and just accept that they will save, its still free damage (Since you wont need your Swift action for anything else most of the time.
Since you can only smite once per round and you likely wont want to smite every single time you attack (plus the rounds spent casting spells or being unable to attack), having 4 channels through Extra Channel should hopefully be enough.
- Good idea on advancing the Inquisition instead of bleeding touch. Kinda obvious advice here, but dont get the Conductive ability for your weapon when the touch only deals bleed once. An elemental damage ability is better.
- Something I didnt touch on originally is the Cleric level. At some point you should aquire another two levels for the base attack and saves, and access to the full level two cleric spell list, for good circumstantial spells like Lesser Restoration. When to grab them is up to you (and whether you grab them at all), but id suggest doing it right after aquiring a new level of Inquisitor spells (So after level 7 Inquisitor at the earliest)
- Always use Justice as your go to Judgement, no other Judgement beats it 9 times out of 10.
- Sic is lookin sexy

Sicsivicus |

Again I am humbled by your adeptness at this Tony. Much appreciated.
Headed to bed soon and out of town for a wedding tomorrow but I'll get to some of these asap.
Quick question on Bleeding touch. I thought it did last?
- from the SRD - "Bleeding Touch (Sp): As a melee touch attack, you can cause a living creature to take 1d6 points of damage per round. This effect persists for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your cleric level (minimum 1) or until stopped with a DC 15 Heal check or any spell or effect that heals damage. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier."

Anthony Krast |

You have the fourth level ability of the Heresy Inquisition (Blessed Infiltration) listen on your character sheet. An Inquisitor has to take one of the Domains/Inquisitions he already possessed before from other classes (like Cleric).
This means he can either count his Inquisitor levels for the Heresy Inquisition or the Murder Domain.
So if you count your Inquisitor levels for the Heresy Inquisition, Bleeding Touch only functions at an effective Cleric level of 1, meaning it only lasts for the initial 1d6 and thats it.
BTW GM, will you be taking a look at the changes on our sheets to verify nothing is wrong?

Sicsivicus |

From the wording I thought that the levels stack for both domains.
There's several threads on this topic but no concrete FAQ either way.
Is there a source that clears this up?
For the Climb AC - Agile Breastplate normally has just a -1 for Climb (and Jump) and since its +1 that takes it to 0 right?

Anthony Krast |

Inquisitor only gets the one domain or Inquisition. This single Domain or Inquisition has to be one of the ones he already possesses from other classes. Ive not looked into whether this was a discussion at all since I thought it was pretty straight forward.
Yes, agile Breastplate would be 0 check penalty for being masterworked, you are correct.

I was just looking through my character sheet and realized ive only got about 8000 gold worth of equipment.
+2 Charisma Circlet (4000)
Handy Haversack (2000)
Resistance Cloak (1000)
Masterworked Leather and Cure Light wand (About 1000)
I remember that I had around 1000 gold left over that I didnt spend originally, but that still leaves 1000 unaccounted for. Im wondering if im forgetting something obvious, or if I managed to delete an item when I updated my character sheet.
Anyone got any ideas?

Anthony Krast |

Btw, ive gone and changed one of Anthonys level 1 Oracle spells known. He previously had Bless, but he will almost never have a reason to cast it. Ive chosen Comprehend Languages instead, a much more fitting spell for his background, and it actually has some gameplay applications.
Also, please tell me when I can add the Hat of Disguise I requisitioned.

Looks like you bought a wand of CLW and didn't add it to your sheet.
Im currently banking just over 2k if anyone has some good suggestions for stuff to buy with it. ill go ahead and buy a CLW wand so down to about 1300.As far as Tanking goes, ive got no tools to keep people off you guys yet, and probably wont get any either (best possibility is getting the Grab Evolution to grapple people, but thats not really optimal. If the enemy doesnt try to kill me though ill be dealing so much damage its a win either way (4d6 + 7 pr hit with Enlarge and Bulls Strength)...ill be needing some friendly flanks to be able to hit reliably untill I hit level 6 though.
As far as escaping goes, Ive got expeditious retreat and can carry the gnome easily if he doesnt mind the slight indignity.
For Sorad, I can spare the Mage armor for important fights in most cases so theres that. Most likely will only come into play when we either expect trouble or buff for a "dungeon" (since its 4 hours duration). As a Synthesist I dont have the action economy to buff anyone but myself in a surprise encounter except for Haste.
For Use Magic Device purposes, if we really end up needing it, I have the option of taking the Skilled Evolution for the skill, putting me at something silly like a 22-24 bonus.
I like the idea of Fog Cloud to be able to hide :) We will be super ninja with a huge smoke bomb lol.
Think ive covered everything?
D'oh! Just saw that you accounted for that...hmm what about the potions you made for us?

Saul Brooks |

Sorry guys, I had a lot of crazy stuff pop up (some work-related, some not) that totally threw me off my groove. I'll be catching up on stuff and posting though tonight.

Anthony Krast |

Ok great, thanks.
Two more questions then :)
1: When does Anthonys Hat of Disguise arrive?
2: For the group, split loot 4 ways or 5?
Ive updated my sheet with the Hat of Disguise already, just wont use it till he actually has it. Removed 800 gold (+1000 from starting gold - 1800 from Hat of Disguise)

Anthony Krast |

I know we cant all have perfectly predictable work schedules, and can appreciate when people dont have time to post, but it seems we have slowed down considerably, with me and Sic carrying a lot of the conversations and actions.
I really dont wanna point fingers like this, but I feel it needs to be mentioned.

Vaek |

I'm stuck in a hole ATM. So not much going on for me until you break me free or they come back to interrogate me further

Sicsivicus |

Really digging the AoO fest with Sorad and the other dwarf.
As a MA practicioner it really speaks to reality of fighting. Most of our training is in direct response to the opponents actions and openings that are a result of those actions. Very cool.

Drovic Rylin'dar |

Hi guys. I have been working with Anthony and the GM for a few weeks on this character to join your group. I attempted to build a character who would be a really good fit both for RPing with the group as well as mechanically compatable with all of you in combat. I have really enjoyed reading the game thread and I am excited about joining. Jumping in a game late is a little intimidating. I hope my first post was OK. Please feel free to give me advice to help me catch up to speed! Let's wreak some havoc on Coran and send the scum who ambushed the group (and their families) to a brutal and untimely death! ~Marshall

Sarah Rylin'dar was born to a wealthy merchant family. She spent most of her early life accompanying her father on Caravan trips. When not traveling with his caravan, she enjoyed the pampered life available to the rich and affluent in the city of Coran. Her fairy tale life danced along until the fateful night her father's caravan was attacked by orcs. Unable to hold off the orc and goblin raiders, most of the men including Lord Rylin'dar fled from their attackers. In doing so, they left Sarah unprotected. She was taken that night by her assailants. No one knows what happened during that night of torment; but when she was found the next day by a few caravan guards rummaging for anything left of value, she was naked and beaten to the very edge of death.
Sarah was taken home and cared for by the best physicians in Coran. After months of care, her body was healed. Unfortunately, her mind was never the same. Lord Rylin'dar spent the next few months attempting to live with what had become of his daughter. She began to show signs that she had been impregnated by one of the orcs. Full of shame and regret for his cowardess the night she was taken, Lord Rylin'dar placed Sarah in an institution. Her bastard son was born there. An elven nurse who was assigned to Sarah at the mental institution named the boy Drovic, which meant son of my torment in elven. The boy was quickly taken from his mother after birth and sold on the black market as a slave. He was bought by Men from Issut Hold and groomed for mining. The first fifteen years of his life were spent in hard labor. With each year and each stroke of his pick, hatred grew in the heart of the half man/half orc. His slave masters reminded him time and time again of his bastard birth and lunatic of a mother. He prayed for the day he could break the chain of bondage and reap his revenge. The day was soon to come.
One day deep in an iron mine, Drovic unearthed something rather unexpected. A chip in the wall exposed the opening of a shallow hole in the side of the cavern. A blood red light pierced through the pin sized hole Drovic's pick had made. Dark voices whispered to him as he peered through the hole. As he continued to slam his pick into the wall, more and more of the rock opened until he could make out a small room. It took him only a few minutes to make the hole large enough to crawl through. Once inside, he found the object that was casting the light, a small grotesque leather mask. Both of the slits used as eyes were glowing and drawing him. Drovic reached for the mask, but was startled as it spoke in a voice that made his skin crawl. "I see your pain...I feel the darkness in you heart...join you tortured soul to mine...let our vengeance start." Cautiously the half orc reached for the mask. As soon as he touched it, power coursed through his being. Slowly he raised it to his face. When it finally touched reached its destination, ever sin that had been committed against Drovic raced through his mind. He laid on the ground for what seemed like days as his heart turned into hate. When the memories finally faded, he was left with the feeling of power he had always dreamed of. Armed with the mask and his pick, Drovic went back into the cavern and slayed all of the men he had worked with over the last few years and escaped. Led by the mask, he stowed away on a caravan back to the city of his family.
He spent the next year hiding in an abandoned building and learning dark magic from the mask. He met several other homeless teens who introduced him to members of the local thieve's guild. Drovic's powers were soon identified and he was trained to collect money extorted by the thieve's from the merchants. He excelled in every task he was given.
Tonight, he heads out for one more job:
Blankets of rain continued to beat down upon the buildings and inhabitants of Coran as citizens dodged in and out of shops in the Merchant's district. It had been raining for what seemed like days. Meeting in a dark alley, two local captains of the thieve's guild discussed tactics. "If we do not get the money from the blacksmith, we could lose face in the city. We can not allow him to continue to defy us like this." Thomson, a short fat man addressed his superior with a look of concern. The skinnier man rocked as he thought. He hesitantly offered, "I say we send the witch." The pudgy man responded in shock, "The cleaner? Do you think it has come to that?"...
A unusually thin Half Orc strolled down the sidewalk with with his hands in his pockets. The rain beat down on the hood of the cloak that hid his scarred features as he passed shoppers in the merchant's district. He turned down a side street and entered a shop. In the shop, a dwarf leaned over an anvil pounding an edge on a piece of metal that was lighting the shop as it burned red hot. Hearing the door, the dwarf turned to see who had interrupted his work. "What da ya want? I'm too busy for company!" The Half Orc's gruesomely masked face came into view as he stepped forward in the light cast by the forge. From his pocket, he produced a hair from a black cat. Arcane words crossed his lips as the hair disintegrated in this hand into a puff of black smoke. "Poliphius Colambu." Suddenly, the dwarf felt his will begin to fail him. "Ya think ya some kind of wizard or somethin do ya? I told those thieve's I would cripple the next thug they sent! I'm gonna bust ya ugly face!" The dwarf began to raise his hammer and run at the witch, but it was too late. The eyes of the fetish mask began to glow blood red and a crooked smile crossed the lips of the man under the mask. After only one step, the smithy felt an uncontrollable slumber overtake him. The hammer dropped from his hands only moments before his frame fell prostrate on the floor. The witch walked over to the dwarf and lifted the hammer. With one swift stroke, he brought the head of the hammer down upon the back of the smithy's skull. It only took moments for the "cleaner" to find what he was looking for...a small locked box hidden in some hay. As quickly as the witch entered the shop, he was leaving through the back door. "My masters thank you for your charitable donation."

i've been manuevering a way to kill him off since the game began. But here's a even better plan. Let's disguise him as me, so he can take my place in prison. Than the mageocracy won't suspect a thing.
Make it so.

Welcome aboard Drovic, and fare thee well Sorad when the time comes. Sad to see our brick wall go.
Opening post looks good, the story telling is very convincing and flows well.
As for disguising Sorad, that would be a tall order without magic ;)
EDIT: You list your race as being an Arena Bred Half-orc, but also have Darkvision. Arena Bred replaces Darkvision with Skilled.

Seconding Tony's greeting to Drovic and parting words for Sorad. Hate to lose an OG but glad to have fresh meat to fill the gap. Especially one that's leaning to be as scary as Sic.
We haven't forgotten about you Vaek. That plan just might work...

good first post Drovic, It definitely came as a surprise.

Oops. Forgot to edit that when we decided to keep dark vision. I will delete it!
Thanks for the welcomes! Sic-I thought this guy would compliment you well. Ill Omen wand followed by one of your save or suck spells....<licks his lips> OR drop a little slumber for a coupe de grace!
