Vek Starsoul |
If the Fatiguing effect was a spell or SLA, Vek has a +2 bonus to his saving throw. Otherwise he’ll have to either wait for Astrianna to get rid of it or simply live with it (or wait to use Soul Furnace on it after another few rounds). Since that’ll drastically change his actions for the round, I’ll wait to confirm with the GM regarding that bonus before posting actions for the round.
Vek Starsoul |
Darn. Well, we’ll just have to live with that for a bit then.
Leila Bluetistle |
Sad womp...
Astrianna Sparacello |
Nah, Astrianna can get rid of Fatigue. I'm going through RP like it's a communal bag of potato chips at Game Night, but it's worth it!
Cueta Guiding Star |
^ Yeah you are. Those RP are like candy!
Cueta has a nifty ability to use RP to allow rerolls for her party, but the ability only happens outdoors at night :(
Which seems like bad design for a game that takes place in a lot of dungeons/spaceships.

Is being in space considered being outside?
Is being in a spacesuit considered being inside?
Is it only night time if you can't see the local star, or is "night time" part of a fixed timescale?
Can if ever be night time in a system with 12 freaking suns?
I have a lot of questions, which is probably answered by saying "outside at nighttime is being on a planet during the part of its rotational cycle where you are shielded from its local star"
But yeah, interesting ability.
Cueta Guiding Star |
I had a lot of these same types of questions and ultimately landed where you did - which means Cueta's outside at nighttime abilities never have seen use!
Prospero-4 |
Yeah, I agree that's kinda bad rules design for a scifi setting :D
But story-wise I think star shaman's powers should work when she can see the stars with her own eyes...
Prospero-4 |
Wormhole time!
Bravo! Well done, sir!
Astrianna Sparacello |
As an FYI Astrianna can't exactly use Get 'em on something she can't see unless she uses an RP to do "all" targets in her room.
I think Leila and Prospero have tricks to locate ol purple Cape but the rest of us will be shooting blindly near the wisp.
Cueta Guiding Star |
Yeah, Severoux is going to be tough on us. I stupidly never took dispel magic and I'm really kicking myself for that right now.
Cueta doesn't hit accurately enough that I have much hope that she'll be able to overcome AC and displacement very often, so she's playing a resource burning game now until others can get in the fight, and she'll take an attack if enough +2s present themselves. I figure that actions spent dispelling first level spells on Severoux's part is a plus all things considered.
As for her wisp's color, I figure it is like a bright, calming white. Cueta's never officially nailed down that her passenger is Desna or Desna-adjacent, but assuming that is the case, any color that fits that deity or her servitors would certainly work.
Leila Bluetistle |
Leila's anti invisible tech is 1 round for 1 full action, so it's only really useful to point out the target for others. And Cueta is doing that pretty well for us right now :)

We should dig through our inventories and see if we have any See Invisible spell gems or something :p
Prospero-4 |
Prospero-4 could also point of the location for others (is that an action?). The echolocation gives blindsense but not blindsight so Prospero would suffer from 50% miss change anyway.
Astrianna Sparacello |

Look, mistakes were made okay. I was right the final battle was going to have an invisible foe, but I was wrong about when it was going to happen!
Leila Bluetistle |
Have some glue, titanium cables and clamps. Will ponder and see if those could be used to help somehow?
Astrianna Sparacello |
Cueta, if you have to get rid of your flying Astrianna can put it back on you with a spell gem we found a looooong time ago.
Cueta Guiding Star |
Cueta! I've been cheating you of your blinding aura I think. How many times did Serovox end their turn next to you do you think?
It has probably been four or five rounds that Cueta has been next to Severoux. But don't worry about that, GM! We can always pretend he made the save each round.
Cueta, if you have to get rid of your flying Astrianna can put it back on you with a spell gem we found a looooong time ago.
I don't think flight will be dispelled. It is SU rather than a spell. She will lose the see invisibility spell though. That's not a big deal - she can cast it three more times. So if we want to save the spell gem I don't think it is dire to burn it here.
Assuming that the wisp can't be dispelled as it isn't on Cueta, Cueta would lose her energy resistance, darkvision, and see invisibility. If the wisp can be dispelled I'd prefer to lose that instead of the see invisibility.

It was a nice weekend, GM. Hope you had a nice weekend too (and our European friends as well).
Prospero-4 |
Oh, what's the occasion? (asks the ignorant European)
While unfortunately of normal length, the weekend was nice here as well :)
Leila Bluetistle |
I *think* it's labour day? Maybe?
Anyhow hope it was nice yeah :)
Cueta Guiding Star |
The extra "u" makes Canada's work better. (I'm sure there's a better joke in here somewhere, but I can't think of it)
Cueta Guiding Star |
I'm going out of town tomorrow for the next week and posting will likely be intermittent. Please bot as necessary.
GM Stargin |
Hey guys. So I splurged a bit as this is probably the only AP I'll ever complete (knock on wood) and even if you die, which may happen, we still got through a heck of lot.
So I commissioned a drawing! Link is The Group picture in the header. Can you guys take a look see? the artist is at the stage of finalizing and, hey they're your characters and I just described them the best I could.
I also had them pose in a way Astrianna might want with her hovering drone, rather than your character's natural inclinations (Vek and Prospero especially) lol.
Any modification suggestions and colour choices that I can forward to the artist?
Vek Starsoul |
Oh my gosh! That’s so awesome! <3 <3 <3
Vek is more muted in color than his profile picture suggests, but still in blues and greens. If the artist wants to add blue flames around Vek’s fist, that’d be cool too. (Don’t try to tell me Astrianna wouldn’t make him do that for a publicity photo XD)
Leila Bluetistle |
!!! Amazing !!!
Leila Bluetistle |
I'm good with any outfit colours as long as it looks cool and spacey :D
Prospero-4 |
Awesome!
I've imagined Prospero-4 to have metallic hair, and metallic sheen on the skin as well. Armor probably needs some colour to stand out :)
Astrianna Sparacello |
Oh neat! Thanks GM. Looks good on the line front.
Astrianna has jet-black hair, emerald green eyes, and olive skin, and would probably be wearing clothes with bright greens and yellows, but whatever the artist wants to do for that is fine with me.
Vek Starsoul |
Of course! XD
Cueta Guiding Star |
Very neat, GM. Thanks for commissioning a pic of our ragtag group. Cueta basically looks like her picture, and her badass black duster is just a black leather duster in a style popular on the 9 in their basically Western-style trids (which is almost all the trids produced on the 9 - think of the actually cinematrogphy of the 20th c. Italian spaghetti westerns).
Please pass on my gratitude to the artist you commissioned!
Also, I'm back and catching up on life/work. Sorry for the radio silence - turned out I didn't have internet after all, which was pretty lovely actually. I hope to get caught up today/tomorrow.
GM Stargin |
I lied. Post up.
Can you guys take a look at the more finalized lineart of the group and see if there's anything you'd like to change before colouring begins?
Also starship combat? Your goal really is to get your ship to touch any part of the portal picture on the starmap and it's too late for anything to stop the crash. The stats of the Empire of Bones are on the second slide of the maps.
Don't forget this is a tier 20 ship so... yeah... you guys aren't skilled enough to do anything fancy here. Good luck!
GM Stargin |
Roles
Captain:
Pilot:
Science:
Engineering:
Gunnery:
Note Multiple people can fill any role other than Captain or Pilot. There can be as many gunners as guns
There are also computer bonuses to assign which I assume as follows by default:
Piloting Initiative
Piloting movement
MVP Gunner
Engineering
then there are two phases.
1. Initiative and Movement
Both pilots do a piloting skill roll off and the loser moves first. This simulates the winner of initiative outmaneuvering the loser as facing matters a lot. I'll let you roll instead of doing the roll as, well, this is the final starship scene of the campaign. Piloting stunts happen here.
2. Other actions.
Once you guys know what the facing and positioning is like from step 1 then that's where Captain, engineer, science, and gunnery checks happen. To streamline matters I've ruled that the captain can't encourage pilot initiative checks as that's a critical part of setting up the next round and I don't want back and forth on that.
Then I resolve the shooting results as it happens simultaneously and we start the whole thing again!
Leila Bluetistle |
AHah looks like we get to fire some big guns after all :D
Vek Starsoul |
Cueta, do you want to drive the giant undead dreadnaught? I could understand that being distasteful for you and your passenger, but it's also your turn to drive (Vek did the shuttle here) and I feel like it should be you as the longer-playing pilot. XD
If you don't want to drive, just let me know and Vek'll make it work. Otherwise he'll head to the gunnery station.
