Cool guys. Yeah, I'm happy with things, just wanted to make sure all is cool.

I think the pacing is pretty much a product of pbp play. Sure, some games run faster than this one, some run slower, I think we're pretty ok (except when I post something and it goes missing without me realising it ... sorry FW and Jon!)

No problem, like Jon said, I just though you wanted the others to catch us up timewise.

Usually we could have just carried on roleplaying but not this time.

I am having trouble locating it, but I believe a thieves' guild or cult was mentioned where the demon might be hiding out. Or am I confusing this with another game?

Raspit mentioned that the kobolds think the fiends were initially summoned by a cult operating within the town. However, that was many years ago, and he did not seem to be able to provide any more detail than that. I don't mean to imply that avenue is a dead end - it may not be - but it doesn't seem like the kobolds will be much more help in this regard.

Actually I was planning to use your bluff check as the "Aid Another" roll for Nic's info gathering, so don't worry about the 2.

Just need Nicolai's roll and confirmation on the line of questioning.

Week long holiday in the Channel Islands is good, taking little un on plane should be entertaining (glad its only an hour flight). The sting in the tail is my brother-in-laws wedding on Saturday, not my favourite member of humanity.

Things have been a little quiet on the game front the past few days, and that looks set to continue with Twiceborn just getting back from holidays, French Wolf leaving for holidays, Utak having connection issues and Ashwalker and Arctaris busy with work! Cool with me, hope its ok with everyone else.

Yep, apologies to all about the somewhat sparodic posting. Work has been crazy busy for a few weeks. Hope it let's up soon, though not sure it will. I'll certainly do my best to get on and post as frequently as possible.

So ... how goes everyone's connectivity, holiday and busyness issues? I take it that's what's still keeping the game slow over the last couple of weeks. Let me know if you need any DM input to get things moving.

If people are still unable to post in the next couple of days I might need to start NPCing people.

I just found out that the deadlines for grant proposals that will keep my organization alive have been moved forward and are now too close for comfort, so I have to work day and night for the next little while (I'm also supposed to be away on a trip to Quebec during the last two weeks of September)... I'll keep you posted as time goes by...

I'm really sorry about the inconvenience... and if it's too great an inconvenience for the DM to NPC my character, then please feel free to arrange a spectacular death for him!

Indeed. Haven't heard back from Utak regarding his internet access - hopefully that is sorted soon.

Last year things were slow during July / August too if I recall. Hopefully the pace will pick up a little soon.

If anyone is feeling a bit adrift in the game or anything, let me know. I know it may seem like you are hitting some dead ends, or finding more questions than answers ... sometimes you just need to let the bad guys come to you, rather than try to find them...

I'm not feeling adrift or frustrated by any lack of progress. I feel like I haven't had the energy for long, elaborate posts lately, but I think that's more a function of the pace at the moment, and should change once everyone's schedules return to normal.

Mothman - Utak's computer was fried at home during a storm and work have blocked paizo. He will be out of action until he gets a new laptop. He didn't know when.

I just moved into a new apartment and won't have Internet at home for at least a week, probably until September 3rd. I'll still be able to post, but it might be a little sporadic if things are busy at work.

Thanks for the offer, Jon. I was born in Montreal and have visited a few times in the past few years, so I have a good idea of the attractions there and in Quebec City. The trip is actually a kind of "guys' reunion". We'll be taking a hydroplane to a lake in northwest Quebec, then paddling down some rivers for 5 days. After that, we'll spend a couple of days at one of the guys' cottage near Hull, and then another couple of days at his B&B in Magog. We may have a few hours to kill in Montreal on our last day, but that's about it.

Actually, I'm just moving two floors down in the same building! I wasn't happy with the proposed rent increase, and found someone willing to sublet for a year at $250 less. Seemed like a good deal at the time, but actually moving is turning out to be a bit of a pain. I'll have to buy something awesome with the extra money :)

Sounds good. I've sort of slowed my pace to checking for updates every couple of days instead of every day, but I'm sure I'll get back into things once the action picks up. I've been kind of busy other things lately anyway, so no worries.

It's work keeping me busy at the moment. I have a month off work once the baby is born so have a lot's to tie up before then. Hopefully once the baby arrives I might have a little bit extra time on my hands (though that is quite possibly wishful thinking...). Will definitely try to post regularly cause I like the game and the group of players we have gathered here...

Thanks; Got back home with the baby today after a few days in hospital and all is well. He was 3.87kg (8lbs 9ounces) and we have named him Jacob. Up with him now while mum sleeps but will try and get some shut eye myself as soon as he drifts off.

Alright, it’s been 6 weeks, and the last two weeks of September are nearly done. Twiceborn, if you’re about, can you let us know when your ETA back to the game is?

Sorry for the long silence, guys. I just returned this weekend from Quebec. One grant application will be handed in tomorrow (the funders called me today at 4:30 to mention that they had neglected to share some important feedback with me during my meeting with them two weeks prior... which meant a lot of last minute work... grrr...). I have the first draft of another proposal due on the 10th, and alot of other stuff to handle in between (interviews for new staff, board meetings, clients, etc.)... and I'll be out of town during the next two weekends I'm in a little over my head these days...

All that to say, I'm not sure when I'll be able to return to the game... maybe after the 24th, once the final draft of the second proposal will have been turned in, and once the hiring process will (hopefully) be complete?

It might be best to retire Keildrithe for the time being, and leave a window open for him to return. I'm really sorry that I've been holding things up (I rarely check the Paizo boards these days). And thanks for your patience and understanding...

After the day I had today, and seeing things piling up on my desk faster than I can get through them, I'm starting to fear that I may not even be able to return in the near future. Despite an amazing holiday in Quebec, I'm already feeling ragged from excessive overtime, with no end in sight. As a result, my energy is low, and I presently don't even have any enthusiasm for gaming (that should tell you something). My promotion a few months back has become a curse as much as a blessing... hence, I've begun to search for jobs elsewhere, with the hope that they'll enable me to restore a sense of normalcy to my life.

So if you'd be so kind as to park my character, I'll hopefully be able to return some day, when time and my energy levels permit...

My apologies for the disappointment, and thanks all for your understanding...
