I like to think that Bulvi will come back someday. As an original player it just seems like he should always be in the party. Unless his character dies of course.
At this point, it seems like initiative rolls are kinda out the window in our combats. He who posts first goes first, and if you don't post you just get skipped. If I had my druthers, I think that before resolving combat round 1 and moving to round 2, every character should act in some manner. If they haven't posted after 24 hours, I say bot them, either the GM or a designated fellow player.
As a rogue, I REALLY need other people to move into melee when a fight starts, so I can flank and sneak attack effectively. We've all seen how well it works out when Quasit charges a baddie alone. And while I'm thrilled that Maka and Findurel are crushing it and carrying us, I'd like to contribute more consistently and I'd like to see something that felt more like a group effort.
As a word to my fellow players, I think it's not too much to ask that you check in at least a couple times a week and post something. The GM puts in a lot of work providing a game for us, and all we have to do is spend 5 minutes occasionally to react in character. Presumably we're all here because we want to be, and we enjoy writing and gaming -- but if you honestly don't have time or have lost interest, you should admit it and drop out. I do NOT want to see this game lose steam and fall apart, and that's what will happen if we can't all keep it moving. Obviously everyone gets busy, or has spells where they lose internet access, or Paizo locks them out, or whatever -- I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a normal day, where you just take a moment over your morning coffee or whatever and check in to see what's happening.
I hope that didn't sound too b~!$*y, and obviously I'm not interested in pointing fingers. This is a long running game, and there will sometimes be lulls in any game. But we all made a commitment to the group to be here, and so we should all recognize that responsibility if we plan to stay.
gets off soapbox

I’m hoping so too...he’s had a couple of lulls before, but none near this long...and he’d usually drop a word saying things were busy at work and such. Hope he’s OK...

When we level up again, Fin’ll automatically get Point Blank Master from my 3rd level of Zen Archer...that’ll allow me to fire at melee range with my bow without giving up any AoOs...I can also add another feat since we’ll be 9th level. I was thinking I’d take Clustered Shot but I could take Snapshot so I threaten with my bow and then Q could flank with Fin...since we 2 do a lot of sneaking that might work out, especially if we can get the first strike in...

Those are all awesome choices for feats for a bowman, but I think the last thing we want tactically is for our Wave Motion Gun Elf to be running up into melee just because he can. We want to keep things from hitting Findurel. If it ain't broke, don't fix it -- Fin operates fabulously at range. What we need is Bulvi to reappear and run in to tank the big bads so I can slip behind them and stick 'em in the giblets.

I'm sorry about being slower than normal (or at least slower than what I want) in my posting rates. Life seems to be incredibly busy but I've been making adjustments. I hope that I can get back to more regular posting.

GM Lareg |

I figure it’s a crazy time for all so it’s understandable. I think we have a decent plan and we’ll keep moving.

GM Lareg |

Had a big project going at work already and just got another, so my posting may slow a bit for the next week or two.

Maka can definitely take up some of the melee and tanking slack. That's basically what all of her feats are for since Kineticist class abilities take care of ranged attacks. With her irrative attack this level Maka's flame blade full attack is close to her empowered range attack and hasted it out paces it.
Speaking of witch, @Saki @Selena one and/or both of you should pick up haste.

The last year has thrown me out of routine with the games, the pandemic is bad enough but there's some personal stuff that looks like it's coming up that'll be making things more awkward. I've enjoyed GMing and playing but it's just not something I can do right now.
This game stings more to post to than most. It's not my favourite or the one where I have the most bad ass character. It's the one I've been in the longest, I think it might actually be the one first one I got into. It's not the story itself that makes it sting but the relationships between the characters new and old. There's friends and tension- and misunderstandings that Saki and Quasit slept together! Which they did just not in a romantic sense... Lots of little moments. Bulvi and Maka sparing... a slightly scandalous but mostly confused Quasit noting Maka also spars with Fin. Saki getting excited and confused in the great big world. Selena dumping cold water on the enthusiasm of some of the party members and bringing them down to earth with her own brand of logic from Irrisen. Melancholy Fin doing his best to move on from the past that haunts him but thankfully is not constantly brooding and usually handy with a joke. Tez and his disturbing lack of regard for his fox... his blend of jovial and coldy logical is slightly disturbing in the best way.
As I write this though I know how much more I'm hating typing up this message than the others. I'd like to try carrying on the adventures of Bulvi and his friends who really shouldn't be saving the world.
I'm sorry for my absence and not being communicative but I would like to try to get back on track with Bulvi to some degree, I'd love to do it with all my games but that hasn't been working. Maybe with less I can do a better job. If that's alright with people that is.

Good to hear from you Bull; I’m hoping you’ll be able to keep journeying along with us...
The past year has been bats...if it gets tough to post every day, just try to post when you can, even if it’s a short one-liner or two, so we’ll know you’re OK. As you mentioned above, I really like the relationships that we’ve developed with the folk here, including the GM. We’re approaching the halfway mark and I’m hoping we can finish this with the same cast...
Outside of my -1 PFS character (who was my introduction into Pathfinder), Fin is my favorite character to play and this is my favorite storyline. But it’s not so much my character as it is all the characters around him and the story that the GM is telling...this is the best role playing bunch that I’ve been around...and going on 3-and-half-years now, this is the longest running adventure I’ve ever done as well...
Any way, Bull, I hope you can stick around and make it work...and I hope life gets a bit easier on you in the months ahead...

![]() |

I'm glad you're sticking it out with us. This game wouldn't be the same without my Bull.

GM Lareg |

For sure. Do what works for you Bulvi. Work projects still going strong, but hope to get back to normal posting by the end of the month. Until then I’ll try and post off hours when I can. Planing an update for tonight.

One small work projected, but I don’t anticipate it impacting my posting as much as the pile of things I just wrapped up.

GM Lareg |

Work has been a bear this week. Adding to that I got word today one of the projects I turned in needs some changes. I’ll keep plugging along here, but clearly my goal to return to daily posts just isn’t going to get met quite yet.

![]() |

No worries, GM; we appreciate you posting when you can during these busy times...
Hope things get better for you soon...

![]() |

I think this is gonna end up in a fight, sooner or later...I’m just not sure about these trees...
Fin’ll await Quasit’s word before firing though...

![]() |

GM, just want to make sure I'm seeing things right here. From Fin's position on the map, the six-armed lady is in the passage to his right, is that correct? And Fin has LOS on her, at least enough to fire an arrow at her if needed?
We probably should've just lit her up when she hinted she'd not let us pass and before she moved away...most everything in Artrosa is trying to kill us so odds would be in our favor to act as such...

GM Lareg |

Yes, map is correct. Fin has line of sight. Also, Selena please see my last post. We are not back tracking your rolls as I made a roll for you after your post stating your intention to follow.

![]() |

Thanks, GM...
Fin is primarily waiting to either fire if directed/if a fight breaks out or heading forward...these magic issues befuddle him so he’ll let the casters work that out...

Bulvi |

If dispel magic might work but no one has it prepped Bulvi might be able to help by turning his weapon into a dispelling weapon temporarily but the modifier... it's not good.

Selena Snoe Yelizaveta |

Maybe I missed something, but to my understanding you rolled the tree's grapple and got an 11. My cmd is 16. That's a miss.
Edit, read the gameplay. What do you mean "rolled cmd?" Did I forget a houserule or something? CMD isn't normally rolled, it is AC for combat maneuvers that attackers roll against.

GM Lareg |

When grappled a player rolls combat maneuver defense (cmd). As Selena indicated the intention to continue moving forward I rolled an additional CMD for her as none was provided (the 11). The grapple roll made by the tree remained the same. As the CMD rolled (11) was less than the grapple score for the tree Selena was then considered grappled, unable to continue following.

![]() |

Yeah, that's not how CMD works. The grappler makes a CMB roll against the defender's CMD, which is static, like AC.

GM Lareg |

Figures. I think at this point it’d be best if I just call this while I’m behind. Between my schedule and poor grasp of rules and the various posting habits (mine of late especially) there are better ways to spend what time we have. Best of luck all.

Oh. Well. That was ...sudden. I hope I didn't offend our GM and put the last straw on the camel's back. Lareg, if you read this, I want to thank you for your time and effort. And I'm sad that I'll never find out what that Satyr had planned for Quasit!
So, in case anyone reads this, I'm still open to continuing if we can find a new GM, but I recognize that the momentum of this game had noticeably slowed. Tezuzu has essentially left us as well, and Bulvi was really just sticking with this to be nice to the rest of us. Still, we still have the core of a solid adventuring party. Fin is like Q's surrogate brother, Saki is her fuzzy beautiful BFF, and Maka is that cool girl at school Q wants to be like. (I still have that holiday pic of Q and Maka feeling the Irrissen spirit as my desktop background!)
I'm also open to continuing playing this character in some new setting, if one of you has a game that needs a rogue. I sorta need to keep writing Quasit in some manner, just speaking personally. I was even starting a new background episode in the last day or two.

![]() |

Count me in for continuing...still hoping to hear more of Q’s background, get more monk training from Maka, and, ultimately, to sink an arrow into Elvanna’s heart...
And I’ll echo Q in thanking GM Lareg for picking up this game and getting us this far; I appreciate the work he put into this. During the craziness of the past year or so, this game has been an enjoyable pick-me-up to help take my mind off the pandemic and stuff. And Fin will always wonder what happened to Oparal...

Selena Snoe Yelizaveta |

I wasn't meaning to cause a problem, so I'm sorry about that.
I'm open to continuing as well. I'm looking to start up a new game soon as gm, but it's for testing some heavily customized rules and will be live chat rather than pbp, but when I get that started you're welcome to bring characters. Heck, I'd even stream it if everyone wanted, but my stream setup sucks horribly, like really bad.
I can't afford the books so I can't continue the ap though, not that I have much experience with running aps anyway, as I generally run sandboxes with minimal prep and just improvise everything.

Bulvi |

I'm happy for continuing but finding a new GM for a game this far along would be tough. If things were a bit different I'd consider taking up the reigns but I'm not in that spot right now.

I think most of you have talked to me already, but hello! I'm the one who's agreed to take this campaign over. I've played through Reign of Winter twice, so it'll be fun for me to see it from the "other side of the table".

Maka Na'Shota |

Thanks again for taking over, I'm very excited to keep these characters going.

I've submitted the request to have the game transferred to me, but there's probably not a need to wait for it to go through. I'll see if I can start posting on Thursday. If not then, on Saturday.

![]() |

Sounds good, GM. Thanks again and looking forward to it!
And I’ll probably pm you in the next day or so with some questions about running a campaign for you...looking at a couple ideas but want your insight...

GM_Almonihah |

Indeed, and I have control of the campaign now. :)

Selena Snoe Yelizaveta |

I just noticed something, the campaign tab mentions a centaur companion. I thought we left all of them behind, and only an npc witch was with us? Did I miss something?
Also, fyi GM,
I rarely get to look at the map thingy on google slides since it doesn't play nice with my phone. I usually just do theatre of mind and it rarely is even noticeable, but it does occasionally matter.
Also, I have a discord server that most of group is on, if you want an invite, let me know.

![]() |

Our centaur guide companion was attacked and nearly killed by a mysterious assassin on our way to Artrosa. Last we saw her, she was being carted back to the centaur village by another centaur we met.

GM_Almonihah |

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FEAR ME!!!
Er, I mean, nothing to worry about...
Anyway, good to know what happened with Erdija. I'd figured you'd left her before entering Artrosa.

![]() |

Hey GM, just an FYI, I pm'ed you a couple of ideas about a campaign to run for you, for your perusal when you get a chance...

GM_Almonihah |

I saw and replied, thank you!
Oh, and if you have a Discord server for this game I could certainly join in, just PM me the invite link.

GM_Almonihah |

Hmmm... this puzzle isn't anywhere in the module, so I'm not sure what the previous GM was going for. Would everyone be okay with me re-setting to entering this room instead of trying to make something up?
