[ACG Playtest] The Sarkorian Prophecy (Inactive)

When a novice Pathfinder in the Grand Lodge of Absalom discovers an account of a long lost prophecy which may hold the key to defeating the Shadow Lodge, a team of brave agents heads into the heart of the Worldwound to recover the document. Not only do the forces of the Abyss and the demon-tainted environment stand in their way, but so does a rival team of Pathfinders set on recovering the Sarkorian Prophecy first.

Davachido here, editing this Alias to be the Swashbuckler. Adding items and background as soon as I can. I will be able to start posting immediately though.

Also since we are doing this as a playtest I will comment on things I've noticed for my class. First things first, gaining the features of weapon finesse but not count as having the feat is terrible. It means I can't get all the finesse feats without taking it a second time! That was frustrating when I found out I couldn't take piranha strike.

Edit: Done very quick and dirty item selection, just to see without much optimisation on that front where I get, still got a bit of money to spend but I'll leave that for a bit later.

Hello! I'm checking in, having finished going through equipment lists. Just two thoughts for everyone to weigh in on, if they please. Is a rod of wonder too crazy a thing for a martial bard to carry, and would Lingering Performance work for the skald, at least for Dirge of Doom, or am I projecting my own overly generous GMing inclinations here?

Thanks for the clarification. You're right, though, I hadn't thought about the possible consequences of that much silliness. If you're OK with it, I don't mind holding onto it as a last resort / panic button for if I ever run out of song rounds or spells, but I'm open to alternatives if the rest of the table thinks something more reliable would be better. I was thinking of a Belt of Physical Might and an upgrade to my ranged weapon in that case.

Ah well, going to say this here, going to reject any ragesong that comes my way. As it is almost always a detriment to me. So assume I don't get buffed if it is cast.

In this particular case, you need to make strength checks to move against the wind, so it will help even dex-based characters here.

RDN, can strong characters use a rope to help weaker ones?

Well yes, but it gives me a +1 and negates the cornerstone of my entire fighting style. So if I get caught in the next few moments in an attack I'm doing nothing good. So yea.. not much use. I think the 5% extra chance of succeeding is not worth the loss of basically 4 of my feats.

Edit: Sorry my bad; +2 to the check, 8th level gives +4 str, though still not worth it in my situation.

Also looking through my deed abilities since I know ragesong negates a few of them due to skill pre-reqs I found this one:

Swift Feint (Ex): At 7th level, a swashbuckler with at least
1 panache point can spend a standard action to purposely
miss a creature that she could normally hit with a light
or one-handed weapon melee attack. When she does, that
creature is denied its Dexterity bonus to AC until the
start of her next turn.

I gain no benefit from this ability and most high CR mobs don't have much dex. It is helpful if there is a rogue in the party but almost always better just to smack your target. Another thing to chalk up to be improved.

RDN, I'm marking off one 1st-level spell given up for CLW, and one Detect Evil prepared and cast. Would it make sense to say that Kasei would have cast it as soon as he prepared it, leaving the other slot, that he was planning to prepare Detect Good in, as yet unprepared?

Can we maybe fast-forward, with GM railroading, to what the next scheduled encounter in the scenario would be, so we can at least try out combat with the revised builds as soon as we're done with them (I can update mine tonight.)
