The Faceless GM |

Well, for one reason or another everyone has found their way to Absolam for the 'peace conference' between the factions in hopes of forming an alliance that could fight the Worldwound demons. However, things will evolve beyond that of course. I have no intention of making this a Wrath of the Righteous redux.

Here's some crunch I put together to help get the fluff flowing. I used pcgen, so there may be some errors, but I will go back and fix things up once I've got a story brewing

Alls I know is that he'll be a little rough around the edges adrenaline junky, a bit of a loose cannon personality-wise and perhaps an addiction to his own mutagens (if that kind of content would be allowed). I think he's serving as a bodyguard for extra money, but when his ward has a medical issue early on in their journey, the ward urges Edgar to go in his place while he returns. Alternatively, he can serve as another player's bodyguard.

Zemuth, the Soul-Scarred |

Here is Roycilo's submission. Been working on this since the interest thread. Oh, man.
Backstory
WARNING: This gets dark in a few places, and a little graphic. I kept it from being too detailed, but just a warning to the faint of heart. It’s nowhere near as bad as some things in PG-13 movies though, so most people should be fine. Also, it's kind of long, so there is that. Anyone can read it, please do! I'd love any feedback.
Miniri Jilane was a sweet child. She was brought up in a small non-human neighborhood in Nex. Growing up in a human-dominated city was a very different life than most catfolk experience, but she was more than content. She was happy. She lived a quiet life with her parents, and three siblings. Her mother was a seamstress; her father a baker. They had a happy quiet life.
Before the Deeping Tome.
As Miniri grew, she became a beautiful woman. People of all races were taken aback at her beauty, and she was propositioned by non-catfolk regularly. She never did feel too attracted to people of the other races though, aside from a few dalliances, she mostly kept herself out of romantic entanglements. The only real relationship she had was with a young man, visiting the town from one of the wasteland tribes. He brought goods for trade occasionally. It wasn’t even young love, not really, but it was all she’d ever had.
Before the Deeping Tome.
Upon maturity, she began spending her time assisting her parents with their businesses, bouncing back and forth from one to another to fight boredom. She loved to run; she loved to move. She was always so nimble. She would spend her days playing, teaching the neighborhood children one game or another, and always put herself out there. She was so innocent. Everything in life was simple, but she liked it that way.
Before the Deeping Tome.
It wasn’t long after her 19th birthday that it happened. Running to a grocer for her father, she darted down an alley shortcut she frequently used. She was cut off by a small group of men. Fearing she was about to be assaulted, she began calling out for help. Much to her surprise, they offered her their bare hands in a show of peace. The leader, a minor noble by the name of Rickard Brey, knelt before her. Slowly, he leaned forward, until his face was against her fur. He embraced Miniri’s legs, and began to weep openly. The other men walked forward, laying hands on her, asking for her blessing. After several awkward minutes, she finally worked up the nerve to ask what was happening.
It was Rickard who spoke first.
“It is simply this. We are so gracious to have been able to meet one so blessed as yourself.”
This answer took Miniri aback. She hadn’t been expecting such obsequiousness, let alone to survive this encounter. Now that she had time to calm herself, she noted that the men didn’t look like criminals. She felt bad for assuming the worst, and was willing to hear them out. Rickard went on to explain that he was the Mother’s Voice, and he represented a church known as the Deeping Tome. They were a group dedicated to the preservation of knowledge that some would consider worthless. Miniri agreed to attend a meeting later that night, if for no other reason than to get rid of these strange men.
And her curiosity. Always her curiosity.
She attended the meeting, held under a slaughterhouse in the butcher district.
‘Surely an odd place for a meeting….’
She couldn’t help but wonder. However, she didn’t feel threatened. Their behavior had been anything but. She walked into the slaughterhouse, where Rickard was waiting for her. He smiled brightly, and offered her his arm. He thanked her for coming, and escorted her down to a basement beneath the building. What she saw lead her to realize it wasn’t so much a library, as a cult.
Several hours, and one strange evening later, she realized she was now apparently not just a member of a cult, but apparently a high priestess-in-training. The Deeping Tome was, in truth, a cult dedicated to Lamashtu. They believed that races like humans, elves, and halflings, were perfect. And flawless perfection is a terrible thing. Races like gnolls, strix, and catfolk all had elements of animal combined with a humanoid body. These “imperfect” races were what the Deeping Tome strove to become. They practiced ritual scarification, self-mutilation, and other various horrid acts to try to “better” themselves. Of course, Miniri didn’t see all of that.
At first.
When she was first initiated, they seemed like nice, albeit strange, humans who wanted a bestial-raced figure to lead their rituals. She was initially asked with low-level acolyte work. She blissfully did as she was asked, sweeping up after ceremonies, snuffing the black candles, all because she felt welcomed. They had embraced her into their fold, and she had never had so many friends before. She was especially close with Vanail, a young housemaid who she worked alongside. While yes, she thought it odd that the various members didn’t associate outside of the worship, she didn’t care. She was welcomed in a way that was so new and exciting, she was fit to burst. As the months went on, she began taking a more active role in the ceremonies. She still wasn’t introduced to the terrible aspects of the religion. Her time was largely spent apprenticing under Rickard, and learning the basic tenants of the Mother’s Love.
Then came the Black Harvest.
She was awoken in the middle of the night; a hand over her mouth. It was one of the acolytes, sent to fetch her. He calmed her fears, and quietly led her out of the house. She was taken to the slaughterhouse, and she soon found why the church met there. Upon arrival, she saw several blindfolded people on their knees in a line. Rickard had already started a ritual she wasn’t familiar with. The gory, profane ritual ended with the slow torture of the first victim. The next highest ranking member began the ritual anew, and made their way to the next victim. And so it went, down the line. After the ninth victim, Miniri was led to the last four. Ninety-Four was a sacred number to Lamashtu; the significance wasn’t lost on her. She was told she would be allowed the four remaining offerings to be her playthings, while the others would eventually be sacrificed to Lamashtu. Handed a wicked-looking hooked torture implements, the rest of the Deeping Tome stood back to watch her work. She had obviously never done anything like this before, and was very much out of her element. After a long, awkward period of silence, punctuated by the grunts and moans of the torture happening nearby, Vanail stepped up. She took the hook from her hand, and started cutting. The cult pressed in, and kept watching Miniri expectedly. After a long while, Vanail turned and put the hook back into Miniri’s hand. Miniri reluctantly followed her friend’s example. She tried to emulate what Vanail had done, to not displease her new family. It didn’t take long for the ritual’s effect to take hold of her, and to corrupt her utterly. The Deeping Tome had been building to this for months. All they had to do was get her to willingly make a single incision to one of the bound four, and all the evil from the torture around her would flow into her, scarring her soul irrevocably. When the darkness finished coalescing in her heart, she set upon the other three with gusto. Her zeal was an inspiration to the rest of the cult, and soon they were finished. They bathed in the blood of their victims, and left a few of the novices to clean up.
It took magic to get all the blood out of her fur.
Several months passed, and she continued to move up the ranks, until she was Rickard’s second-in-command. She led weekly rites, and continued the bloody swath they cut through the city. Eventually she was ready for the Rite of Perniciousness. She would ascend to rule the Deeping Tome, and receive Lamashtu’s blessing. She had been being groomed for this for over a year.
The night came.
She was to receive the Mother’s Blessing after the Rite was complete. The Rite came and went in a blur; to this day she barely remember much more than flashes of memory, and the sensation of sexual pleasure as she took Rickard’s life. He begged at the end. She wasn’t supposed to kill him. She did more than that.
The taste of human still lingers in her darkest fantasies.
The power that flowed through her was great and terrible. The black, swirling shadows of chaos and despair reached out and slew several of the cult, largely those weak in their faith. Those strong, however, were reshaped into a terrifying amalgam of man and beast. No two looked the same; none would be able to walk the streets in the day again.
When it was all said and done, she arose from the pedestal upon which she’d lain, and began blessing the faithful. They all called out in religious fervor, and lustful ecstasy. Lastly, she came upon Vanail, now a boneless pile of living flesh, covered in hooked quills. Miniri laid her hand upon Vanail, and Vanail cried out in agony. Vanail stood, or rather, raised her fleshy mass from the floor. She let out a low moan of pain, and whispered to the faithful,
“The Mother has blessed our sister, but finds her unworthy to lead. She is barren.”
A collective gasp came from the assembled.
A voice cried out.
“Why did the Mother grant her power, but not heal her barrenness?”
Another spoke up.
”What do we do now?”
Vanail had the answer.
“The Mother told me I am to lead you all from this place. You have two days to set your affairs in order, and we are leave this city. The Mother is calling us to our destiny.”
Though the Deeping Tome grumbled about this, all did as they were bidden. Upon reflection, they later realized that the Mother had eliminated those would have chosen to stay.
“Gracious, is the Mother, for sparing us. Wise is She, for knowing her faithful so well.”
The Deeping Tome also realized that Lamashtu had given them another gift. They were able to walk among the masses, and appeared as they had been to anyone who wasn’t one of the Faithful. But to any Truly Faithful, they appeared as they now were.
After they had finished preparations, they began their travels. Their little wagon train met up with a flood of refugees from elsewhere in Nex. It seemed that Geb and Nex were fighting. Eventually word reached the Deeping Tome that their city had been destroyed within hours of their departure.
They moved in Alkenstar, and tried to establish themselves. Shortly after their arrival, Vanail came to Miniri. She told Miniri of her true calling.
“The Mother wants you to go forth, in her name. She has tasked you with going to Absolam. There, you will meet and infiltrate a peace conference,” she spat out those words, as if they disgusted her, “and assist the alliance in fighting back the demonic hordes spilling from the Worldwound.”
Miniri looked shocked at this.
“But, surely you can’t mean that the Mother wishes for me to fight her own!”
Vanail responded with a smile. “Surely, I don’t. These demons are not hers. They follow another, and deserve to die a heretic’s death. They should have learned to worship the Mother.”
Miniri nodded.
“Stay with the alliance. Your true destiny will be revealed there.”
Taking the name Zemuth, a sacred name in their faith, she headed to Absalom, and her fate.
Personality and Character Notes
Zemuth is a fun, free spirit. She is easy-going, and fun to get along with. She has a quick wit, and is often mistaken for a bard, or sometimes a paladin. She has gotten quite good at convincing others she is something other than the truth. Appearance-wise, she is tiny. She’s 4’9”, and under 100 pounds. Her fur is a mottled gray, and she has yellow-cat eyes. The Icon for this character really, REALLY fit her well. She is now just a few months away from her 21st birthday, and has developed a love of traveling. The journey from Absalom was along one, and she has had time to develop her mannerisms to seem even more disarmingly charming. She is excited to see what Lamashtu has in store for her, and is furious with the destruction of her homeland. Given a chance to right that, she would in a heartbeat. The rest of the world in a state of chaos, but even Lamashtu seems to be opposed to the state of things. If the world’s chaos isn’t Lamashtu’s chaos, then it needs to be corrected.
Zemuth combines her Lamashtu-Given power with her natural Catfolk dexterity to make a fast, aggressive fighting style. She hits hard and fast, and rarely leaves survivors. Lamashtu has given her the Dread Vanguard Antipaladin powers to increase her ability to work in a team. It’s Beacon of Evil aura will make her a valued party member, though of course she won’t call it that.

Notes to the GM:
This is a really exciting premise! I’m able to post from work, so I can easily do more than one post a day if needed. I don’t envy you the character selection process though; I’m sure you will get a TON of good submissions. I will keep adding to her, and I’ll get equipment done soon too, but she is largely finished. I didn’t want to get too far along on the character sheet until I really knew who I was working with.

Fury of the Tempest |

Which is exactly the problem. I despise the power points system and the vast majority of the fluff and races that came with psionics when they were created. No Dreamscarred Press Psionics. This is not up to debate. I will not allow them. Period.
... No need to be so harsh about it. Simply saying 'I despite power point systems so I don't run them' really would of been enough. I'll go back to the drawing board on my character and concept then... probably going to go Gunslinger, been a while since I made one.
I do have to ask through. Why do you despite power point systems?

I'm going to echo Loup's sentiments from above; you have been rude to the GM in every instance you've replied to him so far, as well as to Loup when he attempted to nicely suggest you be more cordial. You are the one being "harsh", and responding in such a way to the GM of a game you hope to be in does you no favors.

Viviana Masters |

Zalika was born to a wealthy Keleshite family, living within the city of Sothis. As her mother had died in childbirth, Zalika had access to her families wealth and political power, never really wanted for anything. As per normal Keleshite laws of succession, Zalika was often treated as if she was a pane of glass, something fragile and easily broken, something she loathed. Refusing all interested suitors, Zalika devoted herself to repairing the divide between the Kelishite and Osirion cultures, something that greatly distressed her. The average Osirion found it difficult to look past the long years of rule by a foreign power, so Zalika decided to take the first step, dedicating her personal worship to Ptah, the ancient Osirion god, before taking her worship to the next step, learning the tools of the trade for a Osirion Priestess.
While Zalika rejected some of the Osirion religious customs, such as shaving her hair, by and large, she remained a faithful member of the clergy, determined to bring the two cultures closer together. This frequently made her both popular and unpopular between both sides, and against the advice of the Osirion priests, Zalika branched into searching for offensive uses for her channeling ability, rather than defensive ones, preferring to use it as a weapon as opposed to learning how to defend herself with a more traditional weapon, such as a blade.
Everything changed however, when the Firebleeder emerged from the mountains, and proceeded to lay waste to the region. Zalika attempted to use what limited political power and wealth she had left to organise resistance, and she was a key driving force behind the somewhat shaky alliance between the four nations, but it wasn't enough, the fire was spreading, and it was nearly impossible to truly hold. Around the same time, various other disasters struck the regions around the world. Zalika paid them little heed, determined to deal with her more pressing concerns, but she eventually realised that the world was out of joint, the balance power power between the axis had shifted, and the only way forward was to right the scales.
1. What does your character look like? (Height, weight, age, appearance, etc.)
Zalika has long dark hair, gold eyes, and is probably in her early twenties. Definitely someone experienced enough to make her own decisions. She stands at around 5"5 in height, around 132 pounds, has a slim build, and bronzed/olive skin. Zalika generally wears expensive, stylish, but ultimately practical clothing, as its the type of clothing she has been used to for much of her life.
2. What is your character’s personality?
Zalika is definitely passionate, and ambitious, she firmly believes something has to be done, and she is on a slightly selfish quest to gain more power from somewhere, to challenge the current status quo. This, in part, ties into her worship of Ptah, his aspects being life, strength, stability in the quest for creativity, and in essence, this is what Zalika is attempting to do, find the strength to bring the world back into stability, and forge a newer order, something more stable as currently I imagine everything is fairly shaky. As far as other aspects of her personality, Zalika is fairly stubborn, headstrong, confident, not all of which are hugely positive aspects but they are essential to who she is. Zalika is very much an "ends justifies the means" character, she believes the world is so entirely out of joint that she is fully prepared to cross those grey lines out there, in order to "fix" it. She does however, have good intentions and is perfectly happy to act as a peacemaker or diplomat, as finding common ground and bridging old conflicts is something she feels strongly about. In an adventuring party, or organising body, I imagine she would take upon the role of "glue" although she wouldn't be shy about taking on greater responsibility either.
3. Where is your character from? Golarion has changed a lot in the last few years. Where you are from can mean a lot about who your character is.
Much of this is explained above, but some of it bears repeating. Zalika is from Osirion, specifically Sothis. While Golarion has changed significantly, I don't foresee Zalika leaving this region, except for special circumstances, such as handling peace treaties or alliances, something that would have brought her to this conference. She would have moved around often enough during the reign of the Firebleeder, she would have remained a target for the Efreeti due to her attempts at organising resistance, and obviously she had her enemies during her early years as well during her attempts to smooth over relations between the Osirion and Keleshite people.
4. Why does your character have the class, feats, weapon, etc. that they do? Where and how did they learn to fight? What made them take up this path?
Zalika is a Cleric, she learnt about all her abilities from her religious studies. Zalika has a dislike for actual physical / ranged combat that encourages exertion, she relies on her channeling abilities, or allies (such as bodyguards) to defend her person. There is no hidden meaning behind Zalika's refusal to study the finer arts of swordplay or archery, she just doesn't see the point of working up a sweat rolling in the dust with a blade, when she could tap into her divine powers and discourage attack.
5. Is your character religious? If so, who do they worship and why?
Zalika is very religious, and worships Ptah, the Osirion deity of creation. Both Ptah and Zalika are alike in many ways. Both of them admire creation, although both do it in different ways. Ptah actively creates Constructs and so on, while Zalika prefers to create new ideals, abstract change and so on, as her powers are not quite as advanced as she would like. Both of them highly prize stability, and this, more than anything, is what Zalika holds most important. Lastly, both of them believe power is one third of the source of their creative abilities, and Zalika likewise feels strongly about this. As a lower level Cleric, she is restless for the opportunities for advancement, she knows that in order to get the change and stability she wishes, power must come from someone, as the forces she feels up against are extremely powerful.
6. How has your character's life changed in the last few years? What has the changing world done to your character and what do you intend to do about it?
Zalika went from wanting to unite two different cultures (or bringing them back into harmony as political turmoil was strong between the two), to wanting to unite the world against the powerful evil now tearing at the world. Its worth noting that Zalika does not really support the entire eradication of evil as a whole, but she does feel that the balance has shifted too far in favour of one side, and she seeks to re-address this. Handling the Firebleeder remains a personal priority, because its affecting her homeland the most, but Zalika isn't blind to the concerns of others, she knows that it would be difficult to handle some of the issues facing the world at the moment, and is perfectly willing to handle one threat at a time, so long as it accomplishes her own personal goals.

I would have to take my time to familiarize myself with Path of War, but I'd be willing to consider it.
I don't agree at all that Path of War is "balanced" when compared to paizo martials(and the classes are all martials). I really like the material though and it offers some great flexibility to non-caster that they otherwise wouldn't have(though you could argue it turns everyone into casters). However it would basically force everyone to read through it or end up with somewhat suboptimal characters. A single dip at level 5(with the trait to boost initiator level) or level 9 is waaay to good to ignore, even for full casters. There is also a massive amount of material as it basically forces you to learn the range of possibilities within the maneuver-system (which is equivalent to spells, both in how they work and in sheer numbers). The developers of the material also have stated that it's not at all made with mythic in mind, so they don't really care if some things end up horribly broken with it (There is a feat from there that allows you to replace an AoO with Vital Strike, you already stopped that of course, but that's just one example).

Mighty Glacier, my character could be the target for your cleric's misplaced interests. I think that could be awkwardly fun roleplay :=)

Her phantom twin... might have an issue or two with it. :)
I wouldn't object to it, myself.
Thanks, both of you, but an eidolon/phantom would form a triangle relationship of sorts, and I don't think such hassle would improve the game.
If anyone else, not a summoner/spiritualist is still up for it, the offer is on the table!
(In the meantime, here's my incomplete submission, likely to evolve once I know my darling)
I'm quite interested in this. What class would you ideally want to "play" against? Honestly I'm open to nearly everything. I'm considering paladin (probably CG variant), just to add some extra tension to the relationship. A druid could be another option. Of course both of those might put too much strain on things. What about a Dirge Bard. @The Faceless GM: Would you allow inspire courage from a dirge bard to affect undead (due to secrets of the grave)?

I think I will eventually list players/characters by HD/BAB progression, with Multiclass being a separate category. Anything else and things become a bit muddled, as categories such as martial/arcane/divine/melee/ranged/skilled/other are not as cut and dry as they may seem at first now that there are a multitude of classes available.
If anyone else has another idea however, then by all means, share it with me. :-)

Here's some crunch I put together to help get the fluff flowing. I used pcgen, so there may be some errors, but I will go back and fix things up once I've got a story brewing

Alls I know is that he'll be a little rough around the edges adrenaline junky, a bit of a loose cannon personality-wise and perhaps an...
For alignment lets go with Chaotic Neutral, and ethnicity Half-Taldan, Half Vudrani.

I think I've figured out what I want to play, a hexcrafter magus. It'll notice the mythic-nerfs extremely well, but that's probably the same for most people. I do have some questions though, both mechanical and flavorwise.
1) One of the races I'm considering is tieflings, are tieflings still looked down upon in Cheliax? What do you think of a Tiefling spawned from the demons of the worldwound or the Onis of Tian Xia? Another race I'm considering is elf, however I don't feel that elves fit in particularly well with any of the mentioned factions. Any good suggestions to where to come from as an elf? I suppose a refuge/bitter former noble from Kyonin could be a possibility.
2) There are two swashbuckler based arcanas that were nerfed into oblivion by the recent errata. Would you allow using the pre-errat version (so I can pick up opportune riposte and parry and precise strike)?
3) Would you allow an attack with a natural weapon to release a held charge (if for example I cast frostbite through my weapon with spell-combat, then follow it up with an attack from a (secondary) natural attack, like for example a bite).
4) Can I use the feat Enforcer with the nonleathal damage from frostbite?

Mighty Glacier wrote:Would anyone want their character to have my character to fall in love with them?I'm quite interested in this. What class would you ideally want to "play" against? Honestly I'm open to nearly everything. I'm considering paladin (probably CG variant), just to add some extra tension to the relationship. A druid could be another option. Of course both of those might put too much strain on things. What about a Dirge Bard.
Well, as I originally stated, I think it'd be interesting only if the person was good-aligned and had reservations for answering the feeling. The goal is to create interesting roleplaying opportunities, have some funny moments, and give my character something to do, other than just being an evil necromancer.
But currently I think it's best if I wait until the recruitment ends: then we can start figure out intraparty relationships.

Hmm... I seem to not have included my own submission. Not that he is finished, but since at least (most of) the crunch is done and he does have a profile alias, I may as well.

F. Castor |

Just a suggestion, but I think sorting by planned mythic path will be the most helpful, rather than HD/BAB. A marshal paladin, a guardian paladin, a hierophant paladin and a champion paladin would all be very different.
Not a bad idea. It is just that it can go both ways, such as a Champion Paladin, a Champion Monk , a Champion Magus and a Champion Kineticist being pretty different from each other. And that is without taking into account the Dual Path mythic feat, or those classes that do not really fit into any Path all that neatly (like my poor kineticist...).
I will consider it, but I am making the list as a way to have the submissions in one place for easy reference. At first I was going to do it alphabetically, but I thought to break it down a little and the HD/BAB criteria were the only hard non-convoluted ones I could think of, or at least the least convoluted. The differentiation into melee/ranged/martial/arcane/divine/skilled/other/etc, for example, is a veritable headache with the sheer number of classes and alternate classes and hybrid classes and unchained classes and so on that exist today. I do not want to put that much time into it. :-P

Here's my first draft: Nessessa. I'll have to go back through later and clean it up some but I think it gets the idea across for now. Faceless, let me know if you don't like the direction I took the class. I didn't do a very good job of explaining it in the PM but hopefully using the Ninja tricks to emulate fey abilities doesn't strip away too much of the flavor from the class.

I know it's none of my business, but could your spiritualist benefit from Fractured Mind archetype, what with higher Charisma and all?

3) Would you allow an attack with a natural weapon to release a held charge (if for example I cast frostbite through my weapon with spell-combat, then follow it up with an attack from a (secondary) natural attack, like for example a bite).
4) Can I use the feat Enforcer with the nonleathal damage from frostbite?
1) Tieflings are still not well liked in Cheliax, but people are a lot quieter about it now. You never know when that guy with horns might be related to one of Asmodeus's lieutenants. Tieflings from both the Worldwound (and the regions around it due to the Abyssal energies) and Tian Xia have become relatively common, so they're also both good. Most of the survivors from Kyonin fled to the Free Nations, though New Thassilon also has a significant population of elves as well.
2) Yes, pre-errate version is fine. That nerf always bugged me as well.
3) Not by default, but you can spellstrike through natural weapons.
4) If you're spellstriking, even if the weapon inflicts lethal damage, then yes.
So what's the tech level is regards of Firearms? I'm expecting it to be Emerging Guns, but I wanna make sure.
Also... when you said 'any Pazio Race allowed within reason', does that include the Kasatha? ... Okay I suppose technically they are aliens... but I could easily myself fluffing my character as an escaped experiment for the fanatics still in the Mana Wastes, or an unhappy zone that was mutated by the excess magical power.
Yup, Emerging Guns. Alkenstar has stepped up production in response to the world falling apart, but its counter-acted by it being even harder to get shipments out.
You could build one, but since this is a Golarion game I keep fluff. So you'd need to explain how and why an alien is on Golarion and what they're motivations are. It would need a damn good backstory to get picked.
Do I have to obey the alignment rule for prestige classes involving paladins?
That depends on which prestige class. If it's something like the Champion of Irori, then yes because it's relevant to the class's flavor. For others, that might not be the case. Which one are you looking at?

Fury of the Tempest |

Eeeh... I don't have enough confidence in my ability to write a background to go for the Kasatha. I'll probably just go for a Tiefling instead.
I do however, have a question... I'm planning on going on a bit of a switch-hitter build. A Picaroon/Gunslinger combo. However, whilst the Picaroon class is all about using sword and gun in accord, they don't do anything to Precise Strike, which is the Swashbuckler's main source of damage... can we change the Picaroon's Percise Strike, so that when you are TWFing with a gun and weapon, you still gain 1/2 of your Percise Strike damage with your one-handed piercing weapon? Asking for full damage still comes across as greedy, but would love you forever if you grant that (I mean, Sword and Gun is like, the hardest combat style to pull off, full stop)
Oh and do we have to take Fiendish Heritage to get the Variant Tiefling Heritages? Little unfair when the Aasimar don't have to.

The Faceless GM |

I allow Picaroons to still use their Precise Strike (or any other abilities or deeds that they have) as long as their off-hand weapon is their pistol. The fact that they can't is more bad editing than any intention of the archetype from what I can tell.
And tieflings can take any heritage they want without the feat. It's silly to require a feat when it's basically just a series of alternate racial traits of equal power to the existing ones anyway.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 6) = 21 = 18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 1) = 8 = 8
Not sure what these total... whats the points value of a 4? Interesting scores, I will have to do some thinking and see if I can come up with a concept that could survive a 4 in one of its scores!
Thinking I could make an interesting druid maybe. Borderline feral, has had very very little interaction with humanoids and at the start views them as at best a necessary evil. Indifferent to the feelings, thoughts, well being of others except as they are necessary to accomplish her goals. Will have turned to the council and the group as necessary, but unpleasant, tools to restore the balance and preserve the world. Any thoughts on the viability of such a character?

1. What does your character look like? (Height, weight, age, appearance, etc.)
Azorjka is a lean, muscular, and healthy half-orc with geometric scarification on her hands and face, dyed black against her gray skin; there are a substantial number of marks for one so young. Her black hair is long and braided, and her clothes and armor bear signs of heavy use in battle as well as personal emblems and trophies.
2. What is your character’s personality?
Born to an orc shaman matriarch and quickly growing into a half-orc with abilities clearly superior to the average half-breed, Azorjka thinks quite highly of herself. Although not as physically strong as the pure orcs of the Longtusk clan, she still cuts a formidable form; paired with her keen and opportunistic mind, she is a respected leader and adviser in her clan capable of guiding her people and placing herself in a high position. As a shaman apprentice under her mother, she was awarded scar tattoos for leadership and valor in battle at a young age and trained to bestow that honor on others, a privilege she does not bear lightly or without pride. Although she is loyal to her clan (and especially her mother), she is ambitious and will use any means necessary to ensure that the Longtusk clan survives and thrives - preferably with herself leading it all.
3. Where is your character from? Golarion has changed a lot in the last few years. Where you are from can mean a lot about who your character is.
Azorjka grew up in the brutal lands of the Hold of Belkzen. With hard work, natural gifts, a powerful mother, and a ruthless streak, Azorjka managed to earn a respected position among her clan, despite not being a pure orc.
4. Why does your character have the class, feats, weapon, etc. that they do? Where and how did they learn to fight? What made them take up this path?
Azorjka received training in traditional orcish warfare, and although she could swing an axe or a falchion well enough, she showed real talent in exploiting the weak spots in others' defenses. After her opportunistic techniques and unifying commands brought the Longtusk clan several victories, her mother awarded Azorjka her first scar tattoos. The tattooing ritual and soaring pride in the young girl managed to awaken her mind to her latent power. Before she had been strong, quick, and self-assured. Now, she could bend others to her will with just a thought, her own mind nigh indominatable, and her ambitions to be the half-orc to lead the Longtusk clan to a new age of prominence were greater than ever. Azorjka fights best as a supportive leader, tricking and controlling her foes as her fellow warriors cut them to pieces. That said, she's nearly as strong as some orcs, and is quite comfortable laying into her foes with her own blade.
5. Is your character religious? If so, who do they worship and why?
The Longtusk clan pays tribute to many sources: the elemental forces of the land, the spirits of their ancestors, and, of course, Gorum. Azorjka values her clan's traditions, but only to the extent that they grant power. She honors the land, her ancestors, and Gorum to the extent that her mother leads the clan in doing so. But recent catastrophic events have shaken her already tentative faith, and more and more she puts her trust only in her mother, her clan, and herself.
6. How has your character's life changed in the last few years? What has the changing world done to your character and what do you intend to do about it?
Azorjka's clan was stronger than ever when Karzoug returned to threaten their border. Her clan fought ferociously, but ultimately were pushed back by New Thassiolonian forces. Driven east into the Hold of Belkzen, the Longtusk clan fought for scarce resources with other clans, both those that already occupied the interior as well as other clans fleeing Karzoug's armies. Through some clever maneuvering and her silver tongue, Azorjka was able to convince several refugee clans to merge under the Longtusk banner, and the clan started to swell with numbers and power again as things stabilized away from the border of New Thassilon. Then Tar-Baphon rose again. The lich's forces swept west into the Hold, and the Longtusk clan fought back as they had against the New Thassilonian forces. Caught between a Runelord and a lich, Azorjka and her clan struggle merely to survive each day. The Worldwound overcoming the crusades to the north and the rise of Deskari was the final straw. Azorjka, with her mother's blessing, took a group of orc and half-orc warriors to venture out and find out if anything could be done. She managed to find out about the gathering in Absalom, and booked passage on a ship to the Isle of Kortos to petition for aid and to offer her skills against the encroaching demons.

A question...
Do you want us to write up a combo of appearance/personality/background, or is simply answering the questions fine? Though I am thinking that questions 3, 4 and 6 especially will take quite a bit of backstory writing to answer anyway, so both ways would probably have the same result more or less.

Could I ask for a bit of elaboration on Cheliax and the events of Council of Thieves? I understand that Asmodeus has taken a much more active role of sorts as far as the governance of Cheliax is concerned, but how does Westcrown and Mammon factor into it all?
I am thinking of having my character hail from Westcrown and any information on the state of things will be helpful.

Mulling it over.

In answer to the first question, the questions are what I absolutely require in a backstory. You can answer them in a longer written out backstory or just by answering the questions directly. A more in-depth and interesting backstory will obviously be more attention catching though.
In answer to the second, Mammon was the first archduke to take territory in the material plane, a while before Asmodeus made his move to take more direct control of Cheliax. As a god, Asmodeus can't just march in and take the throne, so his lieutenants, sons, and servants do most of the ruling. Mammon being able to take direct control was basically the wake-up call to Asmodeus that he needed to make a move if he wanted his plans to work. Mammon is still effectively the ruler of Westcrown, though it's not really any worse than the rest of Cheliax anymore.
