*Sits down next to Julian... takes off hat and examines its wear after the fight...*
I agree we're all tired. I gree that this fight is over.
The problem is that, while Grigori is a sperate issue. He is still a pressing issue.
We do not know if he's working alone. We do not know if he has influenced or managed to influence other folks. Or even if he is working alone with no back up or safety net.
Just returning A.S.A.P. will be a benefit to those we left behind. It will be a benefit for us to rest safe and sound in our own beds. The point will be "To be seen... to be seen..." we really ned not much more than that when we get back.
So. If we did bring the wagon, then we can take spells resting in it.
If no wagon, then we work at keeping people in their saddles untill we stagger into town. Looking worse for wear and 'Being' worse for wear at the same time is a good thing.
Remember, Grigori works, runs (And kind of wins) on 'false' propoganda.
You want to stay? Fine. I'll stay as well. Leaving one person (Or a couple) behind, in the wilderness... with at least one known threat still about is not a sensible thing.
*Bows*
Couldn't take the time to type all that out in Sunset's lingo... sorry...

And leaving party members behind helped us out loads last time.
Pass.

Hi everybody. Ironically enough, a day or two ago I sent a message to GM Glyn about coming back to this game.
I was, in fact, one of the original PC's in this game. I left after my cousin passed suddenly, which made this game difficult for me because we had only a month or so prior finished the entire AP together. After all these years, I've finally gotten some solace to it.
Feel free to browse my games for my post/play style. In particular, the Absalom game and my character Argor is a fine example. I would be willing to play any sort of combat role, and I see Asta is requesting a dedicated healer. My question, if you guys would be interested in having me back, is if that is specifically what you'd want?
I see Seraph is an Oracle/Paladin, so she is capable of some healing. Torod also has healing magic at his disposal, and (this incarnation) of Sunset (wave) is an alchemist with CLW as well.
If you are dead set on healer only, I can work something together.

Sorry I am to see Justinian leave. :(
Safe journeys and good travels.
My first thought, is as always, I would rather see you play something you want.
But I am just another player and the DM's ideas tend to come first.
That being said....I don't think any one is focusing on their 'Helaing first, other things second."
For Sunset, the curing is just a naffy side effect of being an alchemist, is all....
Seraph_ |
O.o;
Well should have expected it, but i was hoping it WOULDN'T happen as regrettable as it is. See ya Justinian, best of luck.
Thron
A healer would be nice but if your capable of some healing it will add to our allotment.
My build is fairly niche. I can do a little more because of reward of life but I am ultimately aiming for a frontline, big sword type.
So my focus will be raising my Attack and defensive values. I am aiming to add more levels of Oracle and a couple more of paladin before Hopefully delving into Mystery Cultist.
So again, choose what you want to play, we tend to play fairly loose. Hopefully you don't mind.

Correction
I tend to play loose. Didnt mean to insinuate everyone's play style. Apologies.
Look forward to playing with you. :)

Again, assuming the GM is okay with me joining, I have the following concepts I could whip together:
1) A Human Cleric of Ragathiel, with the domains Nobility and, GM permitting, Healing. I'd take healing focused feats such as Selective Channeling and Extra Channel, and be a front line combatant/healer. DM willing, I'd use some of my starting funds to hire some House Guards and servants to accompany me by using the Downtime Rules, though they would strictly be for RP fodder and not adventure with us (unless everyone would be cool with that). Would be from one of the Brevish noble houses.
2) A Half-Elf Summoner with a dragon-themed Eidolon. On the run from her childhood friend who also has a dragon eidolon. The other girl wants to bend the PC to her will by any means necessary and force her into a life of conquest, while the character itself just wants to live free and in peace.
3) A retooled version of Valeria, my original character for the group, perhaps as a Priestess using the same stuff as option 1, though a different domain than Nobility and the whole Noble House schtick.
Aside from those three, I am open to suggestions!
Edit: Yeah, I remember that, Asta. One reason I sought this group back out instead of looking to join a new one!
GM Glyn |
Juststinan, Sorry to see you leave.
I'm fine with Thron returning, as long as all the players are too. Don't feel required to choose a healer, I prefer people to play what they find enjoyable.
Currently the leadership feat is not allowed, which I'm told would interfere with Nobility domain.
As for a summoner please use the unchained version.
A retooled Valeria would have a personal history/connection in the game, but that is not a requirement if you have a new concept.
I understand the current rulers have a fondness for bards and any would be will received with open armaments.
Thron |
Would I use the original character creation rules?
Edit: Also, this is so far a very female character dominated game. So I may just bring in a new character that is male, for a bit of balance. Likely a summoner, still a dragon themed eidolon. Once I have the creation rules I will get to work on him, and send you some details on his background GM.
GM Glyn |
Yes, 20 point buy, two traits, one must be a campaign trait. 5th level character.
I'll have to calculate the lowest wealth character, letting that be the starting for new char.
Thron |
I'm getting ready to start a work stretch, so will develop the character as best I can after work.
If you guys would lemme know which character you'd rather me play, I'll build that. I am fine either way (though am leaning personally towards Summoner), and will have fun with whatever. I'm fairly flexible like that.

I'm sorry Justinian didn't feel like he fit with us.
I'm good with Thron returning. Of course you should play the character you want. I would suggest making one that fits a leadership role, though.
Also on a side note, we have the ability to regain hit points, but we're short on some of the other curative effects.
Thron |
DM: after a very busy shift with my downtime considering characters, if you are okay with it, I will begin work on the cleric of Ragathiel minus th nobility domain. I'll go with a couple of Ragathiel's other domains instead, and as stated above, take healing-focused feats to compensate the lack of the Healing Domain.
It's what the PC's requested, and I think I have a good concept in mind for the personality. Just gotta squeeze in time to build it.
Seraph_ |
What Dax said. We can adapt to what you want to play. I don't want you to play something that won't be fun Thron. :(

I understand the current rulers have a fondness for bards and any would be will received with open armaments.
I love bards! :D

GM, how prevalent is downtime for crafting in the game? I'm considering taking Craft Wand to make healing wands for use. Next question I have is my proficiency in Bastard Sword due to it being Ragathiel's favored weapon, is that the Exotic proficiency in it or Martial? Martial makes it a 2-hander, Exotic makes it able to be used either 1 or 2 handed.
Also, I know you said you said no Leadership feat, and I'm totally okay with that. But would you be okay with maybe me using some of my starting funds (whatever value you decide) to buy a couple things using the downtime rules, purely for RP flavor (assuming I have the cash flexibility to do so)? Not looking for any earnings from these, it's purely just a lump some of cash just spent on some stuff to make things feel more organic for the character and provide me fuel for RP.
Like:
Elite Guards, 170 gp: would serve as a team of House Guards who would protect me during my travels to Stagland as well as protect my place of residence once there?
Lackeys, 120 gp: to act as footmen, cook, maids, etc for my place of residence and mundane tasks a nobleman wouldn't normally tend to.
If able, I'd also like to maybe use some of my starting funds on a House or Noble's Villa in Greenhart. But this is all assuming I have enough left over to spend on such things, and that you'd be willing. I'm working on my crunch on my phone's notepad, and will copy it into an Alias for you to review asap.
Thomas Lebeda |
Okay, posting with my character alias now that I have basically as much as I can complete. Let me know what y'all think. Also put a dot in the campaign thread, but looks like I'll need manually reactivated there for it to show up in my campaign list again.
GM Glyn |
There is lots of downtime in kingmaker. Usually each month of kingdom building the PCs with offices must put in one week of time per month for their office, There is an optional rule that allows the PCs to put in two more weeks to make an aid check to one of the Kingdom check roles. The skill used is based on what kingdom check you are aiding.
That leaves a week for things like adventuring, crafting, training animals.
So there is downtime for crafting.
GM Glyn |
Thomas, a starting wealth of 6000gp looks reasonable compared to the low end of the other players. I know the recommended wealth per level for 5th level is 10,000, but so far this kingmaker is running on the lean side. The players haven't hit many of the high loot encounters yet.

Sunset's player is not feeling well atm.

But 14 people in my camp did in 3 days. Yuck. And I had to work 18 hr shifts to cover. Still trying to catch up after that. @.@

Thank'e.
Lots of different meds. The fever has broken. Now am getting phlegm etc in chest. So is moving 'down' into the body.
So.. my 'Home remidy' is:
A LARGE soup mug. Fill with boiling water. One cap of god quality rum. One satchel of 'Lem Sip' (A product which has stuff for congestion and head aches and such)
Yup, definately staying hydrated. (^_^)
Had some solid food this morning. So appetite is coming back, thank'e.

I'll be travailing Tuesday and Wednesday, so my post may be spotty.

I was giving the group time to enter role play with the new player, but it dosn't seem to be much. We can do the trial by combat for the 2 assassins? Unless the group would rather do something else , explore, kingdom turn, Other? I'm open for suggestions.
Sunset, |
*hugz* Very best wishes to you and yours Dax.
Still recovering from flue.
The cat is no longer sleeping on my chest.... I gather this is a good sign and I am no longer in danger of passing on, hence the cat no longer trying to steal my departing soul. :P

I will get a post up shortly. Rain has been knockingnout our say at work and our phones and internet go with it.
Been sporadic. But it's letting up today, so hopefully I can get some posts out.

She has an auto immune something or other that causes her joints to become inflamed. She has other symptoms, but after several rounds of tests, we think that's the core problem that's causing or contributing to the other issues. She just started a treatment that we're praying will work.
Best of luck with your daughters treatmwnt Dax, you have my good thoughts and hopes coming your way. :(
