Torod |

Sorry. Dax is my sign on.
Torod the weather druid, your one stop shop for all your summoning, wild shaping needs. Also skilled at healing and surviving in the wild.

Terri Riverrun |

Terri's eyes keep darting around as she walks up to the table.
"Is-- is this the place to sign on for the charter?"
Hi. Lets get this party started.

Jennet Halfgait |

Fired up and ready to go!. Kenderkin, is it ok if we tweak our stats a wee bit now that we know exactly who's on board? Might be a good idea to swap skills around so we have key knowledges covered--Knowledge (Local), particularly. Also, I personally would like to trade my Knowledge (nature) for Heal.

Valeria Windsong |

Now that I'm home...
I put 8 gold and 6 copper into purchasing those items Kender listed, got them in my inventory, will carry them on my horse. I'm willing to contribute a bit more to the group supply if needed.
Also, something that my other PbP group is doing that I suggested and is working out well:
Whenever we divide our loot/findings/what have you, we should divide it with an extra spot in mind. So for our group of 5, we would divide it into 6 even monetary shares. This 6th division is a group fund, used for things such as wands, potions, supplies, specific reagents (eventually diamonds for resurrections, eh?), etc. This way we take a small hit each to prevent one person footing the bill for things the group as a whole would use.
Items nobody wants or needs would be sold and divided evenly amongst the 6 shares.
As far as how we divide loot amongst ourselves, well, I'm down for whatever the group feels best with.
Finally, Kender, just out of curiousity, are we going to be RP'ing our initial meeting, or when the game starts will we have already met?
If we are assuming everyone met at the signing of the charter, you would all know the following about Valeria: she's confident but not frustratingly so. She doesn't try to claim she's the greatest at anything, but she is comfortable with who she is. She is very quiet when speaking about her past, though, and I'm going to go ahead and just say that as of game start, it's doubtful anyone has gotten close enough to her yet for her to reveal anything about the tragedy in her life (learning things like that in character is half the fun!).

KenderKin |
I sent Torod a private message re his character....
My plan is that from the pool of people you guys are selected given the charter, make introductions and set off right away for Oleg's.....
If people want to roleplay the time traveling there, feel free to start that here.
The arrival will start the gameplay thread (Tuesday).

Terri Riverrun |

Sounds good. And I didn't even notice the whole party is female. This is going to be interesting.
As for group stuff, I've got over 100 gp left, Couple of Potions of CLW?

Jennet Halfgait |

If you'd like suggestions on how to spend that last 100g, Terri, consider a Climber's Kit (80g).
Or a light riding horse (75g), plus saddle, saddlebags, bit and bridle (16g).

Terri Riverrun |

Heaven help Torod for one week each game month.
I'm the only male in the household. It's not quite that bad. (Still bad though.)

I know how to handle myself around a gaggle of women. I have an ex-wife and four daughters. The trick is to not be there. Role-playing at a friend's place, overtime at work, hanging with my brothers, visiting a pal out of state. I got a lot done and stayed connected with friends and family one week out of the month.

Asta Blackheart |

Valeria: I like the idea of the sixth share as party funds. ^^
As for 'that special week'... Maybe I should start researching a unique spell? ^^; We could make a mint from the sale of scrolls.
Before we depart for the wild frontier, I have a few schemes in mind. Once we have a kingdom staked, we're going to need people to want to stay in and defend it. Who has a problem with giving the temples of Calistria and Cayden Cailean a shot at establishing some of the first temples? Fighting men will walk miles for good booze and fun women, and we're going to be busy ruling. ;)

Valeria Windsong |

Per Kender's suggestion, gonna kick off a little RP for the trip to let our group get to know each other.
As the group sets off, Valeria looks over her companions as they ride. So let's see, this one looks like she's not seen a day of life in the sun her entire life. He is awfully quiet, but he has tamed a leopard, which I'm sure isn't easy to do. She seems as nervous as a child about to be scolded. And the lady on the stallion, I'm not quite sure, but those eyes surely can't see much, and she walks with a limp. But, the Swordlords saw potential in them, I'll have to trust in their wisdom.
Breaking the silence, Valeria speaks up in a cheerful tone, "Well, there isnt much sense in us riding in silence all the way. My names Valeria."

Jennet Halfgait |

Yikes, sorry to hear about the cat. :(
I grew up with four older sisters, and now live with my wife, infant daughter and two lady cats. The one who has it rough is my solitary male cat, who gets chased by everything that's on all fours.
Valeria, I would assume the Pioneer trait gives you a perfectly generic Light Riding Horse. Perhaps you'll meet someone who can train it for war!

Asta Blackheart |

"Asta," the pale-faced and -haired woman replies, a slight Ulfen accent in her voice, and she turns her blue eyes on Valeria. She smirks a bit, though the expression seems to be directed at herself, not at the warrior. "Back home, they called me Asta Blackheart. Such a thing it is, envy. Then again, I was a government official -- a minor one, anyway."
Jennet -- I assume that means the lady cats gang up on the male whenever he tries to establish dominance, and your daughter tries to play with him? :p

Jennet Halfgait |

Jennet's been riding with her face tipped back and eyes closed, letting it bask in the sun. When the others start talking, she cocks her head and twitches the reins. Heptamegistos reluctantly slows so the other horses can draw even with him, but stubbornly remains a nose ahead of the rest.
"My name's Jennet." She laughs. "Call me Jennet Halfgait, why not! It's beautiful weather for riding. Maybe it will last the whole way. Goodness, these plains go on and on."
Asta, I'm not sure if my daughter has decided if she wants to play with the male cat or eat him. Neither is he, which is why he keeps running away. Probably wise. One of the lady cats is dominant and makes sure he knows it; the other hates other cats.

Asta Blackheart |

"Fairly sunny, yes," Asta says. "And so... green."
The Ulfen girl shrugs and laughs. A little. "Not a bad thing to learn to get used to, by any means. Very different from home."
Jennet -- how does the misfelinic female get along with the dominant one, then? And do those three have any trouble sharing food and the litterbox?

Valeria Windsong |

Despite the sun's warm rays, Valeria felt a slight shiver run over her as Asta set her eyes in her direction. She tries to hide her being uncomfortable under her gaze, and says in response, "What sort of position did you hold where you were from?"
Turning to Jennet, she states, "If we are lucky the weather will hold out at least until we reach Oleg's. The plains will hold out until then as well, after that, we hit the rolling hills, forests, and rivers of the Greenbelt. It's been a while since I've been in that area, things got too dangerous for merchants to risk their caravans traveling that area."

Asta Blackheart |

Asta smirks a little -- again, it is directed inward, not at Valeria.
"I was a secretary to the local magistrate," she replies. "Not a position of great influence, but people would see more of me than of the lady I represented."

Terri Riverrun |

Turning to Jennet, she states, "If we are lucky the weather will hold out at least until we reach Oleg's. The plains will hold out until then as well, after that, we hit the rolling hills, forests, and rivers of the Greenbelt. It's been a while since I've been in that area, things got too dangerous for merchants to risk their caravans traveling that area."
The skittish woman's eyes go from nervously looking behind them, to locking onto the back of Valeria's head
"Dangers? Like what, monsters?"
Her horse snorts and canters to the side a bit until it's inexperienced rider managed to quit tugging on the reigns so hard.

Valeria Windsong |

Noting the nervous sound in the girl's voice, Valeria responds, "I'm not entirely sure, I tend not to put much stock in rumors. They tend to get highly exagerated with each telling. I'm sure once we give the area a good look over and report it back to Restov the trade routes will reopen."
She's more skittish than I thought! Hopefully if things get serious she doesn't run and leave the rest of us to fate.

Torod |

I took proficiency with the longbow. Hero lab didn't give me short bow though.
"Torod, Strawberry Deathstrike, and Girty." The fur-ladden half elf says as he indicates himself, his fire pelt cougar and his horse. He seems to consider the sky for a bit before saying, "The weather will hold at least long enough for us to reach Oleg's Trading Post." He considers the sky again then nods his head as if to confirm what he just said.
Strawberry does not travel with the group. The horses don't actually like her presence, though Girty seems the least effected. Instead, she prowls around their perimeter.

Terri Riverrun |

"So it's probably just a bunch of bandits, then? Great."
For some reason, she seemed to be hoping it was monsters.

Asta Blackheart |

"Let's not be too hasty," Asta says, a note of dry humour in her voice. "Maybe they'd be willing to become part of the new Royal Guard for a promise of steady wages and all the bandits they can eat."
It doesn't take a 20+ Sense Motive check to realize that Asta is making a joke; she is not at all serious about this.

Terri Riverrun |

While the party eats around the campfire, Terri suddenly realizes she hasn't introduced.
"So... Torod, Asta, Valeria, and Jennet, right?" as she says their names she points to each of them in turn. "guess, I should have done this when we first set out... I'm Terri Riverrun from no place important."
She laughs nervously, not sure if the joke came across well.

Valeria Windsong |

Valeria spreads out her bedroll near the fire after tying off her horse with the others. She then removes her breastplate and places it beside her bedroll. She then slides a more comfortable shirt over the simple shirt that had been beneath the armor, and sits cross legged on her bedroll. Pulling out her sword and a whetstone, she begins tending to it's blade.
"Nice to meet you, Terri," Valeria responds. Looking to the girl, trying to say her next words calmly, Valeria adds, "So...given the possibility that we may need to know what each other is good at in the immediate future, I suppose we should explain what skills we have if 'push comes to shove.' As for me," Valeria holds her sword up, examining the blade, "I use this. Not a Swordlord or anything, but I have managed to get by so far."
