The Exchange

Yeah Yeah. Story of my life. Clueless and the subtle hint detector broken. Ie Sense motive -5

The wife has a love/hate appreciation of this. Unless some damsel is dancing naked in front of me, I wouldn't realize she was flirting; conversely, if she wants something for bday/anniversary/anything she better put it in writing preferably with attached specs/pics. Purple, pink, mauve and salmon look alike to me, and really how many shades of white can there be?

HP: 34/34, NL: 0 | F: +3 (+4 vs. Environment), R: +7, W: +3 | Per:+13, Init: +3 | Arrows: 12, Laen: 16, Healer's Kit: 10
HP: 24/24, NL: 0 | F: +5, R: +5, W: +2 | Per:+5, Init: +2

Oh buddy, don't get me started.

I have a bit of training as an artist and designer. I bet there's dozens of shades from Pure white to the color of cream, to the blue white of ice and moonlight. What's the worst is trying to explain why white LEDs look different from white incandescent bulbs. Ones cooler, has a blue tinge to it, the other is warmer, has a yellow tinge to it.

What's really bad is seeing two high saturation, complimentary (opposite sides of the color wheel, like Red and Green, or Blue and Orange) colors. It gives me an actual headache.

Male Gnoll Barbarian/5

Whoa...that is like a foreign language! I need a linguistic check for that, alone. LOL

HP: 34/34, NL: 0 | F: +3 (+4 vs. Environment), R: +7, W: +3 | Per:+13, Init: +3 | Arrows: 12, Laen: 16, Healer's Kit: 10
HP: 24/24, NL: 0 | F: +5, R: +5, W: +2 | Per:+5, Init: +2

Then I'm fluent in four languages: Design, Computers, English, and Southern. ;P

Male Gnoll Barbarian/5

I am not fluent in any but English. However, I am a lawyer and a wordsmith. Math and science was never my forte.

I'll be on the road for the next two weeks. Eastern Shore shout out! I expect WiFi will be found almost anywhere nowadays (hotel/McD's/Starbucks/local NSA undercover van) but my posting will not be as prompt. Thank you for your understanding.

Although Kiptera is not nearly as verbose nor as versatile as Hon was, I expect this will work in my favor for this trip. ;-)

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Kiptera, this is also Tal from the nobles group that Tark is running. Saw the message on both discussions threads and thought I was going crazy for a minute reading it twice.

The Exchange

Female Dwarf Wizard 1

HA! Funny stuff that. You are not crazy, just haven't caught on that I am stalking you. Reading all your past posts and putting together a profile from all the clues. [/creeper mode]

Well, I was trying to move things along with a sum up post.

No problem.

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

A sum up post is fine just wanted to correct a few things first before misunderstanding occurred. Once we know the results of Gallak's check with a first initial offer of trading 3 we can go from there I believe

The Exchange

Female Dwarf Wizard 1

In case I am out of touch, another clue arises here is what I have.

House 1
black hair

House 2
white hair
mulled wined

House 3
grey hair
Strong Ale

House 4
Honey mead

House 5
Brown hair
Apple cider

Still no clue who has the frog familiar.

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Haven't worked on it yet till all the clues are available but hopefully we agree.good work though so far Kiptera.

The Exchange

Ok I was in a location that was very remote, 1 bouncing bar of signal for cellphone and ~40 minute wifi response just to get to the point of posting. Currently at wifi hotspot and earning dirty looks from wife while she waits. Next scheduled wifi visit tomorrow. Fortunately, puzzle lends itself to pen/paper resolution.

I just reworked the puzzle from another angle. Same answer. The spoilered answer is correct. Kiptera will provide a terse IC clarification if prompted. ;-) Be glad Hon is dead. He would've gone all pedantic on ya'll.

Male Dwarf HP 45/45 AC 18 FF 17 T 11 F +8 R +3 W +4 CMD 17 Init +1

Ok, I just worked through the answer from scratch and got matching results. I am convinced even more now (I was before I ran it, but going through it like a Sudoku puzzle has solidified it!)

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Onward to the murals then...

Ok, posted the solution, which some of you did not need, in the campaign tab.

Riddle is a variant on the 'Einstein puzzle'

Urban legend had it to have Einstein as an advisor for your doctorate, he handed out the puzzle. I reworked it for a fantasy setting years ago.

If you want to give the riddle as Einstein, here it is.

Albert Einstein once posed a brain teaser that he predicted only 2% of the worlds population would be able to solve.

1. There are 5 houses in 5 different colours.
2. In each house lives a person with a different nationality.
3. These 5 owners drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigarette and keep a certain pet.
4. No owners have the same pet, brand of cigaratte, or drink.

1. The Brit lives in a red house
2. The Swede keeps a dog
3. The Dane drinks tea
4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
5. The green house owner drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall keeps birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the house right in the center drinks milk
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill
12. The owner who smokes Camel drinks beer
13. The German smokes Marlborough.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
15. The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

The question is, who keeps the fish?

NOTE: I have never seen it given with the facts. I think the 4 facts section was created to make it easier and forestall the typical questions.

Male Dwarf HP 45/45 AC 18 FF 17 T 11 F +8 R +3 W +4 CMD 17 Init +1

I didn't want to assume, but did Durgen get the necklace from the elf? If so I want to update the sheet and pick some languages.

HP 50/50; AC 22, T 12, FF 21; F +10 (+2 vs poison,spell), R +4, W +9; Init +1; Per +3
Spells and Special Abilities:
channel(2d6, DC14) 7/7; SPD 3/3 1/D 2nd, 4/4 1/D 1st; SP 0:detect magic, guidance, resistance, stablize; SP 1: B 2/2, SoF 2/2; D:MW; SP 2: SO, RE 2/2, D:SW; SPA: ad 6/6, br 6/6
Tracked Items:
WoCLW 33/50
Male Dwarf Fighter 1 / Cleric 4

Still here btw, just been quiet... it just seemed there for awhile with a big group was hard to find a spot into it. But, I have kept up with it, just stayed quiet.

Plan is to get back in dungeon crawl mode again.

Just had the requisite puzzle and skill challenge (made before there were skill challenges).

Male Dwarf HP 45/45 AC 18 FF 17 T 11 F +8 R +3 W +4 CMD 17 Init +1

With the Necklace Durgen picked up the following Languages, assuming all of them are ok with Chainmail (If the two ancient ones are not, I would choose Infernal and Sylvan)

Abyssal, Ancient Gold Dragon, Ancient Elothean, Celestial, Draconic, Ignan

Rogue3/Wiz1 by training, Machiavellian by temperment
Chainmail wrote:

Durgen has taken to learning his new languages using the memory of his new necklace. He hears voices of ancient gold dragons and other people from the past occasionally speaking in his head. When speaking common he occasionally has to catch himself to prevent speaking a word in a more descriptive language instead.

The intent is no penalties, just a RP opportunity as the necklace imparts language skill from ancient teachers and requires no tutor to learn the selected languages.

You guys are killing me. The ghost of Hon rages in envy.

Killing me.

As much of the world was unexplored, you would be in the exploration phase of things as an explorer like Magellan, you would be entering the sandbox phase of things. This part had an ocean-going Kingmaker flavor feel.

But, given the sporadic posting and attrition in both threads, I am coming up with a way to wrap things up early. Probably will evoke the final competitive dungeon crawl phase soon.

So, to answer Kragg's option question, the sandbox option I will not kick off. I will resolve the dwarven invasion of the ent/dryad lands. Given the options unlocked and aid, they have only a 5% chance of complete disaster (1) and 15% chance of utter disaster (2-4). Stalemate/quagmire = 5-8 (20%)

The will open another set of options.

Dwarves vs ents/dryads attack: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Enta and dryads? I thought we were with a diffent group of people right now dealing with tunnels and insects?

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Never mind, I read the discussion thread first and posted without reading the campaign thread.

Male dwarf Cleric 3 24/24 hp, saves 5/2/7 AC 18/11/17

Hey guys just to let you know I have been following waiting to see what the response is from people for posting. I must say I have not been too impressed. That is why I am deciding to drop out of this game. I have been asked to DM a game here for a group and I need to cut back on what I am in. Sorry for this but good luck.

No problem, Kragg. Will let you know if get anything going again.

Plan was to have the dwarves and elves meet early rather than go through the whole epic campaign.

Let me know who is up for the finale. If no one, we can inactivate the thread and call it done.

Hmmmm. Personally, I'd like to see the endgame, even if we have a TPK.

That's my vote.

The Exchange

Female Dwarf Wizard 1

Hmmmm Silent on the dwarven front. This does not bode well.

I will move it forward, even if it for one or two then.

Male Dwarf HP 45/45 AC 18 FF 17 T 11 F +8 R +3 W +4 CMD 17 Init +1

This campiagn hasn't been updating new posts for me, I just checked it on a lark and saw there has been posts. I am all for moving it forward!

I've been very busy with my new job, and haven't really had time to work on the connection issues at home between shifts.

I'm posting from work now as it's started to calm down and get a little less chaotic, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to respond with any real immediacy.

I would like to see through to the end, though, even if just to read the posts here and there.

Ok, the elves are definitely finishing.

We will see how many dwarves are in.

The Exchange

We are still alive and in transit? Chainmail practicing necrothreadacy.

I'm able to post at least once every weekday, at work. I'm in.
I'd like to tidy up my character sheet, though- we are fourth level, correct?
Which wands did Durgen take?

Male Dwarf HP 45/45 AC 18 FF 17 T 11 F +8 R +3 W +4 CMD 17 Init +1

Durgen's wands in the color coded bandolier:
Wand of Protection from Evil (25)
Wand of Enlarge Person (8)
Wand Rope Trick (9)
Wand of Knock (8)
Wand of Web (5)
Wand Fog Cloud (9)
Wand of Shield (10)
Wand Scorching Ray (8)
Wand of Fireball (7 charges)

Scroll of Expeditious Retreat (1) 75
Scroll Case= 3 Identify & 2 Blindness/Deafness

Gallak's wands are then
Mirror Image (8)
Knock (7)
Invisibility (9)

I'll begin the Character Sheet Cleanup xP

So I was thinking- I normally put my Gender, Race, Class, AC, hp, and other stuff in my title so it shows up there ^^
If we enter PvP, should I exclude that, and put a physical description, or something?

Character clean-up complete. Reading that feels a LOT easier. Now to write up a description and a brief bio.
